  • How to find and fix issue with Pound and HAProxy

    - by javano
Pound sits in front of HAProxy (on the same box) to perform SSL off-load. Requests are passed to 127.0.0.1:80 where HAProxy then balances the requests across backend servers for a hosted ASP .NET web app. A user is getting HTTP error 500 (Internal Server Error) returned to their browser this morning and I can see it is comming from Pound. They see no log entry in their web app (IIS) server logs, so its not hitting the back end servers. I think the problem is possibly with HAProxy. Lets review the logs: Initialy the users (1.2.3.4) hits Pound on the load balancer: Nov 12 10:02:24 lb1 pound: a-website.com 1.2.3.4 - - [12/Nov/2012:10:02:23 +0000] "POST /eventmanagement/EditEvent.aspx?eventOid=623fc423-2329-4cab-8be5-72a97709570d HTTP/1.1" 200 155721 "https://a-website.com/eventmanagement/EditEvent.aspx?eventOid=623fc423-2329-4cab-8be5-72a97709570d" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1229.96 Safari/537.4" Nov 12 10:02:24 lb1 pound: a-website.com 1.2.3.4 - - [12/Nov/2012:10:02:24 +0000] "GET /Controls/ReferringOrganisationLogoImageHandler.ashx HTTP/1.1" 200 142 "https://a-website.com/eventmanagement/EditEvent.aspx?eventOid=623fc423-2329-4cab-8be5-72a97709570d" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1229.96 Safari/537.4" Nov 12 10:02:24 lb1 pound: a-website.com 1.2.3.4 - - [12/Nov/2012:10:02:24 +0000] "GET /eventmanagement/WebCoreModule.ashx?__ac=1&__ac_wcmid=RAWCIL&__ac_lib=Radactive.WebControls.ILoad&__ac_key=RAWVCO_11&__ac_sid=fnoz2hmvirfivb2btbubbw45&__ac_cn=&__ac_cp=BVDXDWFLDWFMHDFJBOEGBDFLFOD5EEFD&__ac_fr=634883113445054092&__ac_ssid= HTTP/1.1" 200 11206 "https://a-website.com/eventmanagement/EditEvent.aspx?eventOid=623fc423-2329-4cab-8be5-72a97709570d" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1229.96 Safari/537.4" Nov 12 10:02:24 lb1 pound: a-website.com 1.2.3.4 - - [12/Nov/2012:10:02:24 +0000] "GET /eventmanagement/WebCoreModule.ashx?__ac=1&__ac_wcmid=RAWCIL&__ac_lib=Radactive.WebControls.ILoad&__ac_key=RAWCCIL_11&__ac_sid=fnoz2hmvirfivb2btbubbw45&__ac_cn=&__ac_cp=BVDXDWFLDWFMHDFJBOEGBDFLFOD5EEFD&__ac_fr=634883113445054092 HTTP/1.1" 200 43496 "https://a-website.com/eventmanagement/EditEvent.aspx?eventOid=623fc423-2329-4cab-8be5-72a97709570d" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1229.96 Safari/537.4" Nov 12 10:02:42 lb1 pound: (7f819fff8700) e500 for 1.2.3.4 response error read from 127.0.0.1:80/POST /eventmanagement/EditEvent.aspx?eventOid=623fc423-2329-4cab-8be5-72a97709570d HTTP/1.1: Connection timed out (15.121 secs) Above we can see the request comming in from the user at IP address 1.2.3.4, eventually Pound returns error 500 with the message "Connection timed out (15.121 secs)". • Where can I download an english version of the Sony Bravia SDK & Emulator?

    - by Kevin Williams
I recently purchased a Sony Bravia TV that comes with Internet capability built in. It supports a number of 'widgets' and apps built for youtube, twitter, various yahoo! offerings and apparently AOL & Netflix if I were in the USA. I'd like to hack on the SDK, but the only version I can find is Japanese. Where is a good source of information (in English)? Japanese SDK Documentation (English Layout & JavaScript API pdfs included)

  • Running Xcode Applications without installing Xcode

    - by Cawas
I know nothing about Xcode, except it's a Developer interface from Apple that actually comes on OSX CD and it's used to create iPhone apps as well. I also know it have a Applications folder, filled with little utilities, that are indeed quite useful. I tried grabbing one of them and running, without installing Xcode but it doesn't work. It brings an error and a Problem Report from which I believe the relevant part is this: Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: @rpath/DevToolsInterface.framework/Versions/A/DevToolsInterface I've tried, of course, locating that "framework", with no success. Well... I guess it's probably possible to install Xcode, get that utility source, if it exists somewhere, and compile for stand-alone. But that goes beyond my point. I just want to know if there's somewhere I can get those utilities and/or make them run without needing to install Xcode at all.

  • JAMES Mailet development process

    - by itsadok
I'm starting a project that involves writing mailets for Apache James. As far as I can tell, the only way to test a change in my code (on Windows) is through the following steps: Compile the mailet code Build a jar file containing the mailet Copy the jar file into the apps/james/SAR-INF/lib directory Start JAMES from run.bat Run test Stop JAMES by telneting to port 4555 and issuing a shutdown command (I guess on Linux a SIGTERM would suffice) I can automate all these steps using Ant and some scripting magic, but I was wondering if I was missing something. Does anyone here have experience developing mailets? Did you use a similar process, or is there an easier way? For example, is there a way to make a running James instance reload the mailets JAR?

  • Android ListView - Slide Subview in from Right?

    - by Chris
    I have a ListView. When I select an item in the ListView, I would like to have a Subview slide in from the right, the way that it does in many Apps. I have been searching for tutorials on this topic but am spinning my wheels. Maybe Android uses a term different than "Subview" ? Here's what I ended up doing: Create a New Class for the SubView Add the Subview class to the Manifest with <activity android:name=".SubViewClassName" /> inside the <application> tag Add this to the main Class ("lv" is the ListView) lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView parent, View view,int position, long id) { Intent myIntent = new Intent(view.getContext(),SubView.class); startActivityForResult(myIntent, 0); } });

  • Symfony/Doctrine/SfGuardPlugin: Redirect to requested page (route), and not referrer

    - by Prasad
I want to be able to take the user to the requested page after login, but this does not happen with sfGuard. ** My Register action requires SignIn ;) ** On the listing page [http://cim/frontend_dev.php/] - user clicks the 'Register' link [@register = register/index] - user is taken to 'Signin' page provided by sfGuard - after sign-in, user is taken back to the Listing page (instead of Register) This is quite annoying! But logical, because the referrer is the listing page. How can I change logic to make @register the referrer? Pl help. thanks public function executeSignin($request) { $user = $this->getUser(); $this->logMessage('Signin>>> form - isAuth() '.$user->isAuthenticated(), 'info'); if ($user->isAuthenticated()) { $this->getUser()->setAttribute('tenant', $this->getUser()->getGuardUser()->sfuser->Tenant->getID()); return $this->redirect($user->getReferer($request->getReferer())); } $class = sfConfig::get('app_sf_guard_plugin_signin_form', 'sfGuardFormSignin'); $this->form = new $class(); $referer = $user->getReferer($request->getReferer()); $this->logMessage('Signin>>> referer: '.$referer, 'info'); $this->logMessage('Signin>>> referer: '.$request->getReferer(), 'info'); if ($request->isMethod('post')) { $this->form->bind($request->getParameter('signin')); if ($this->form->isValid()) { $values = $this->form->getValues(); $this->getUser()->signin($values['user'], array_key_exists('remember', $values) ? • Xcode "The program being debugged is not being run" error- need help!

    - by SolidSnake4444
I saw the other question here with the similar error yet their fixes did not help. I have a jailbroken iphone 3.1.2, and I just purchased apple's $99 dollar thing and I'm trying to make it so I can debug my apps on the phone. The device installs but will not run when clicked build and go. If I click on the icon made on the iphone it works. Any ideas? I already uninstalled and reinstalled my provisioning profile.

  • Choosing a Windows Automation script language. Autoit vs Autohotkey.

    - by PA
I need to choose a windows automation program. Which one do you recommend? AutoIt, AutoHotkey, others? I have read http://paperlined.org/apps/autohotkey/autoit_and_autohotkey.html , interesting history but without a clear recommendation. Searching on google leaves a winner (around 312k hits for AutoHotkey Windows vs 482k hits for AutoIt Windows). In StackOverflow there are 15 questions tagged as AutoIt vs 18 for AutoHotkey. I am interested on your opinion as programmers. Which one do you think is easier to use, more deployable and more powerful in terms of functionality? Note: I have already used AutoHotkey for personal use. So my initial preference is for this.

  • How to use WINAPI from newer SDK but still using the old SDK in WindowsMobile.

    - by afriza
Specifically, I want to use Point-to-point Message Queue but because I am still using legacy codes in eVC++ 4 and it only support until PocketPC 2003SE SDK, I cannot find CreateMsgQueue and friends in the headers (the port to newer VisualStudio is still in progess) I am using the Message Queue to do IPC with apps developed with WM-6.5-DTK (VS2005). Update: I am using the following code (taken from msgqueue.h) to store function pointers and load CoreDLL.dll using GetProcAddress() and LoadLibrary() respectively. HANDLE /*WINAPI*/ (*CreateMsgQueue)(LPCWSTR lpName, LPMSGQUEUEOPTIONS lpOptions); HANDLE /*WINAPI*/ (*OpenMsgQueue)(HANDLE hSrcProc, HANDLE hMsgQ , LPMSGQUEUEOPTIONS lpOptions); BOOL /*WINAPI*/ (*ReadMsgQueue)(HANDLE hMsgQ, /*__out_bcount(cbBufferSize)*/ LPVOID lpBuffer, DWORD cbBufferSize, LPDWORD lpNumberOfBytesRead, DWORD dwTimeout, DWORD *pdwFlags); BOOL /*WINAPI*/ (*WriteMsgQueue)(HANDLE hMsgQ, LPVOID lpBuffer, DWORD cbDataSize, DWORD dwTimeout, DWORD dwFlags); BOOL /*WINAPI*/ (*GetMsgQueueInfo)(HANDLE hMsgQ, LPMSGQUEUEINFO lpInfo); BOOL /*WINAPI*/ (*CloseMsgQueue)(HANDLE hMsgQ); Is the above code alright since I need to comment out WINAPI and __out_bcount(cbBufferSize) in order for them to compile.

  • Strategy to lazy load images for buttons within UIScrollView?

    - by greypoint
I have a horizontal UIScrollView that contains UIButtons (though it could be any object). I would like to only download images for these buttons as the user scrolls and they are seen. I would also like an activityindicator running on each button while the images are downloading. Here's what I've tried with results: Check content offset of uiscrollview and download images for visible buttons. Problem: issues getting activity view shown within subclassed UIButton and not desired usability since images are only downloaded once scrolling stops. Add subviews (not buttons) to the UIScrollview hoping to use the view's ViewController to initiate a downloaded on viewDidAppear. Problem: viewDidAppear never seems to get called (because I am using addSubView?). I've seen other apps that do this kind of loading but need some guidance on the typical set-up. Ebay's app is a great example. All items have a default image until the item comes into view, then an activityindicator runs and the items unique image is downloaded. Thanks for assistance.

  • Having the output of a Console App in Visual Studio instead of the Console

    - by devoured elysium
When doing "Console" apps in Java with Eclipse, I see the output being put in a text box on the IDE itself, instead of having a Console popping up like in Visual Studio. This comes in handy, as even after the program has exited, I can still make good use of the text that was written in it, as it doesn't get erased until I run it again. Is it possible to achieve anything like that with Visual Studio? I know that instead of doing System.Console.WriteLine(str); I can do System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(str); but it is not quite the same thing, as you get a lot of "junk" in the Output window, as all the loaded symbols and such. Even better, is it possible to have everything done in the IDE itself, when you run your app, instead of having the Console running? Thanks

  • Detect browser focus/out-of-focus via Google Chrome Extension

    - by Paul
Is there a way to find out if Google chrome is in focus or out of focus? I'm creating an app which needs to know if the user is currently using the browser or not. By tying the detection through the content script in a Google extension, I've tried using blur and focus but the problem is that clicking on the address bar also fires a blur event. Same goes for detecting mouse movement, where moving the mouse outside of the viewing area will not be detected. I've also tried looking at onFocusChanged but it seems it only detects changes in chromes' windows not apps outside of Chrome. Anyone have other ideas for this? Also, would this be any easier if I created an add-on for firefox instead? Thanks!

  • Performance implications of Synchronous Sockets vs Asynchronous Sockets

    - by Akash Kava
We are trying to build an SMTP Server to receive mail notifications from various clients over internet. As each of the communication will be longer and it needs to log everything, doing this Asynchronous way is little challenging as well as by using Socket's Asynchronous methods we are not sure of how flow of control and error handling happens. Previously we wrote lot of server/client apps but we always used Synchronous sockets, reason being they are longer sessions and each session also has lot of local data to manage and parsing messages etc. Does anyone have any experience over real performance differences between these two methods? Async calls use ThreadPool which we have experienced many times to just die for no reason. And we fail to restart threadpool etc. In one way Request-Response protocol of HTTP, Async Sockets makes sense, but SMTP/IMAP etc protocols are longer and they have interleaved messages plus state machine of server. So Async methods are really complicated to program. However if anyone can share the performance of Sockets, it will be helpful.

  • Firefox Password script same PW auto login for 1000s devices Possible to use greasemonkey

    - by ritztech
I currently work in a position that i have to manage and access 1000s of pages for troubleshooting and new setup.... and im trying to figure out a way for firefox or chrome to setup ANYtime it sees for instance a a web based page for equipment like (CISCO, Linksys, Sonicwall, T1 controllers) from the manufacture in the Title bar or from the originating page place a set up 2 - 3 passwords to auto log on with. 1st one of course being the most common so it logs in faster.. I access about 14 different web based products with passwords tied to each of them and if someway i can grab info stating that hey this company is cisco/sonicwall/linksys/hp/ log on with these set of 3-5 credintials. Using possible If then statements.... is that hard i saw some script files but not sure if its difficult because some apps use the MSG BOX built in feature and some use the form submit method built on the page unless i can have 2 different grease monkey scripts at the same time.... thanks.

  • What advantages does TFS 2010 have over Axios OnTime?

    - by Russell
I am currently creating a business case for rolling out TFS 2010 as our source control and bug/release management tool. We currently use OnTime for our bug tracking software and subversion for our SCM. I was wondering what advantages TFS 2010 has over OnTime? I have done some thinking so far and would love to hear responses: TFS 2010 allows linking changesets-work items-builds TFS 2010 provides greater customisation of workflow than OnTime TFS 2010 is integrated into the Visual Studio IDE - This requires less apps to be open and less window flicking Thanks in advance.

  • Variants recursively uses itself?

    - by Mason Wheeler
I'm trying to build a debug version of rtl140.bpl to make debugging apps with runtime packages easier. I built the DPK and ran DCC32 on it, and it gets a ways in, then dies. C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\7.0\source\Win32\rtl\sys\Variants.pas(1072) Fatal: F2092 Program or unit 'Variants' recursively uses itself But looking at Variants.pas, I can't see how. It only uses SysUtils and Types in the interface section, and neither of those use Variants, or use anything that uses Variants. Does anyone have any idea why this is breaking?

  • Custom NSStatusItem with custom view - Use NSWindow, NSView, custom NSMenuItem?

    - by Luc
I'm trying to create a LSUIElement app that behaves like Spotlight, CoverSutra and other apps of that type. I managed to create a custom NSStatusItem, which popups up an NSWindow but the problem is that the app that currently has focus will the focus to my custom NSWindow. I've based myself on Matt Gemmell's example (http://mattgemmell.com/2008/03/04/using-maattachedwindow-with-an-nsstatusitem) For example, if you're in Safari and click on the Spotlight icon, the current Safari window does not gray out and keeps focused. When you press ESC in Spotlight, the focus is back to the Safari window. I haven't managed to do this with my custom NSWindow. I have to click back on a window to set focus back to it. So I'd like to know which route to go to achieve this. Is the solution a NSWindow, NSPanel, NSMenu with a custom NSMenuItem?

  • Audio recording error kAudioQueueErr_CannotStart on iPhone OS 3.0

    - by Jeremy Borden
I'm working on a couple different iphone apps that both record and play sounds concurrently. Think multitrack mixing... play one sound a save it then listen to that sound while recording the next sound to another file. My mechanism for this has been to start up two different audio queues, one for recording, and one for playing. This was working A-OK until the release of OS 3.0... Since then, however, the following happens: If I start the recording queue first, it supposedly starts fine, but the call to AudioQueueStart for the playback queue returns kAudioQueueErr_CannotStart. If I start the playback queue first, it also supposedly starts fine, but the call to AudioQueueStart for the record queue returns the same error, kAudioQueueErr_CannotStart. Anyone have any luck debugging this error? Seems like maybe the two queues are stomping on each other's memory or something? The official description is: "The audio queue has encountered a problem and cannot start." Not super helpful... Jeremy

  • Android: bug in launchMode="singleTask"? -> activity stack not preserved

    - by Stefan Klumpp
My main activity A has as set android:launchMode="singleTask" in the manifest. Now, whenever I start another activity from there, e.g. B and press the HOME BUTTON on the phone to return to the home screen and then again go back to my app, either via pressing the app's button or pressing the HOME BUTTONlong to show my most recent apps it doesn't preserve my activity stack and returns straight to A instead of the expected activity B. Here the two behaviors: Expected: A > B > HOME > B Actual: A > B > HOME > A (bad!) Is there a setting I'm missing or is this a bug? If the latter, is there a workaround for this until the bug is fixed? FYI: This question has already been discussed here. However, it doesn't seem that there is any real solution to this, yet.

  • iPhone SDK "loading" on Titanium Developer

I want to start using their framework, but for some reason the iPhone SDK is always "loading" when in the "TEST & PACKAGE" tab. Have you guys found a fix for this? I have: Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Titanium Developer 1.2.1 iPhone SDK 3.2 All the certificates "blah blah" from Apple because I am able to test and deploy apps on my device using XCode. Help please :)

  • Android 2.2 deprecates restartPackage but adds another headache...

    - by mob1lejunkie
Android 2.2 release notes have just been released. ActivityManager.restartPackage method has been deprecated and the description is: the previous behavior here is no longer available to applications because it allows them to break other applications by removing their alarms, stopping their services, etc. Instead 2.2 has given another tool for pesky "task killer" apps by introducing new ActivityManager.killBackgroundProcesses method. More Info Can someone explain whether ActivityManager.killBackgroundProcesses will kill our scheduled alarms? If so, deprecating ActivityManager.restartPackage was pointless as "task killer" will now abuse ActivityManager.killBackgroundProcesses.
