• Error when trying to create a faceted plot in ggplot2

  I am trying to make a faceted plot in ggplot2 of the coefficients on the regressors from two linear models with the same predictors. I want to plot: g <- qplot(reg, coef, facets=.~y, data = r.together) + coord_flip() But when I try to display the plot, I get: > print(g) Error in names(df) <- output : 'names' attribute [2] must be the same length as the vector [1] What's strange is that qplot(reg, coef, colour=y, data = r.together) + coord_flip() plots as you would expect.

• Linked servers SQLNCLI problem. "No transaction is active"

  Im trying to execute a stored procedure and simply insert its results in a temporary table, and I'm getting the following message: The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "MyServerName" was unable to begin a distributed transaction. OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "MyServerName" returned message "No transaction is active.". My query looks like this: INSERT INTO #TABLE EXEC MyServerName.MyDatabase.dbo.MyStoredProcedure Param1, Param2, Param3 Exact column number, names, the problem is not the result. MSDTC is allowed and started in both computers, Remote procedure calling too. The machines are not in the same domain, but I can execute remote queries from my machine and get the result. I can even execute the stored procedure and see its results, I just can't insert it in another table. Help, please? :)

  Hi I have the following script to create a table: -- Create State table. DROP TABLE IF EXISTS "State" CASCADE; CREATE TABLE "State" ( StateID SERIAL PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL, StateName VARCHAR(50) ); It runs fine in the query tool of PgAdmin.   I try to integrate an existing database file into my Android project. I follow the instructions on this blog. They write that I have to add a table android_metadata with a column called locale and put en_US into it. I try to figure out what this table is used for. Because my database content is german. Maybe i then should not put en_US into it? Is this required for localisation of the database content or is the table not needed at all?

• jQuery datepicker onSelect set multiple row values

  On the select event of the datepicker I need to add and set values in multiple rows. In other words, I have something like this... Days Value Row 1 1 Row 2 2 Row 3 3 I have the "Days" and "Value" columns as textboxes. When I select a date from the datepicker I need to add the "Days" value for each row to the date selected. That value is what goes into the "Value" column. Example, I select 4/20/2010. The value in each respective row would then be 4/21/2010, 4/22/2010, 4/23/2010. Hopefully this makes sense and thank you for the help in advance.

• How to "bubble" a Controls features when place in a custom UserControl

  I'll try to explain what Im after. I dont know the technical term for it, so here goes: Example 1: If I place a LisView on a Form and add som columns I am able, in Design-Time, to click-and-drag the columns to resize them. Example 2: Now, I place a ListView in a UserControl and name it "MyCustomListView" (and perhaps add some method to enhance it somehow). If I know place the "MyCustomListView" on a Form I am unable to click-and-drag the column headers to resize them in Design-Time. Is there any way to easily make that happen? Some form of "pass the click-and-drag event to the underlying control and let that control do its magic". Im not really looking to recode, just pass on the mouseclick (or whatever it is) and let the, in this case, ListView react as it did in the first example above. Regards

• TPROXY Not working with HAProxy, Ubuntu 14.04

  I'm trying to use HAProxy as a fully transparent proxy using TPROXY in Ubuntu 14.04. HAProxy will be setup on the first server with eth1 111.111.250.250 and eth0 10.111.128.134. The single balanced server has eth1 and eth0 as well. eth1 is the public facing network interface while eth0 is for the private network which both servers are in. Problem: I'm able to connect to the balanced server's port 1234 directly (via eth1) but am not able to reach the balanced server via Haproxy port 1234 (which redirects to 1234 via eth0). Am I missing out something in this configuration?   My application needs to print invoices, then a get the invoice from database, insert informations os the invoice in a big string (tellling the line, column, etc). after this a have the string ready to be sent to a printer. My problem is: I need to put some ESC/P commands/characters in my big string i try to do something like this: char formFeed = (char)12; Convert.ToChar(12); MyBigString.Insert(10, formFeed); whit this, the line 10 will do a FormFeed, but this not work NOTE: i send the MybigString all at once to printer. to make my code works i need to send the data line by line to a printer ?   Hi folks, I am currently trying to load a slightly large xml file into a dataset. The xml file is about 700 MB and every time I try to read the xml it needs plenty of time and after a while it throws an "out of memory" exception. DataSet ds = new DataSet(); ds.ReadXml(pathtofile); The main problem is, that it is necessary for me to use those datasets (I use it to import the data from xml file into a sybase database (foreach table, foreach row, foreach column)) and that I have no scheme file. I already googled a while, but I did only find solutions that won't be usable for me.

• sorting and paging with gridview asp.net

  I'm trying to get a gridview to sort and page manually with no success. The problem is that when a user clicks the column they want to sort, it sorts that page, but doesn't sort the datasource (dataview) behind the gridview. So when they progress to a different page, their sort is lost. Pretty much I'm looking for a sort that will actually sort the datasource behind the gridview.   Hello I am using Ejb3 and JPA (based on Hibernate and Oracle 10g at the moment) I have an entity that contains a clob @Entity @Table(name = "My_TAB") public class ExampleEntity implements java.io.Serializable { private Clob someText; public void setSomeText(Clob someText) { this.someText= someText; } @Column(name = "COLUMN_NAME") public Clob getSomeText() { return this.someText; } Then I want to save an entity of this type. At the moment I am doing the following which works perfectly ExampleEntity exampleEntity = new ExampleEntity(); exampleEntity.setSomeText(Hibernate.createClob(aStringValue)); someOtherDao.save(exampleEntity); However this ties my code to Hibernate! I have specifically avoided so far Hibernate extensions and used only JPA annotations. The code works because indeed Hibernate is my current implementation. Is there some sort of JPA API that allows me to create a clob in a generic way? So if later I decide to switch to Toplink/EclipseLink or something else I won't have to change a thing?

• Why does GetSqlDecimal throw when GetDecimal doesn't?

  I have a database table that has a column of type money, allowing nulls. Using a SqlDataReader named reader, I can do decimal d = reader.GetDecimal(1); which works, unless of course we're reading a null. If I try using SqlDecimal instead--and I thought the whole point of the SqlTypes was to deal with nulls--then I get an invalid cast, whether or not the value is null. SqlDecimal s = reader.GetSqlDecimal(1); // throws an invalid cast exception What am I doing wrong? Do I really have to write a conditional statement to shepherd the value from the database to a SqlDecimal variable?

• CSS - 100% Height Layout with Variable Height Header

  The layout I want to achieve is pretty simple. I want a 100% height layout with a header, and below the header I will have a side bar for navigation and then the content area beside the navigation bar (2-column with header). I can easily do this if I give the header a specified height but I want the header to just take up as much room as is needed. Does anyone know how to do this? Is it possible without knowing the height of the header? Thanks for any help.

• Creating an Excel 2007 bubble chart with date values in axis

  I'm trying to create a graph showing the duration of issue resolution. I believe a bubble chart in excel will show what I want but I can't manage to get it working correctly. For each date I have a number of days (duration) and a number of issues (magnitude). Most dates have a duration of 1 with a large magnitude, and I want to avoid the outliers dominating the chart. e.g. 1-Feb, 1, 15 1-Feb, 2, 10 1-Feb, 9, 1 2-Feb, 1, 11 2-Feb, 2, 14 2-Feb, 6, 2 2-Feb, 18, 1 etc. I want the data in this example to give me 2 columns of bubbles. When I try to get excel to create the chart I can't get the date to appear at on the x axis; I get a count (representing the row of the data) instead, and as each row is a separate column, the values don't line up for the date. Can this be done in Excel 2007 without using VBA?

• sftp and public keys

  I am trying to sftp into an a server hosted by someone else. To make sure this worked I did the standard sftp [email protected] i was promted with the password and that worked fine. I am setting up a cron script to send a file once a week so have given them our public key which they claim to have added to their authorized_keys file. I now try sftp [email protected] again and I am still prompted for a password, but now the password doesn't work... Connecting to [email protected]... [email protected]'s password: Permission denied, please try again. [email protected]'s password: Permission denied, please try again. [email protected]'s password: Permission denied (publickey,password). Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer I did notice however that if I simply pressed enter (no password) it logged me in fine... So here are my questions: Is there a way to check what privatekey/pulbickey pair my sftp connection is using? Is it possible to specify what key pair to use? If all is setup correctly (using correct key pair and added to authorized files) why am I being asked to enter a blank password? Thanks for your help in advance!   I hardly see any pointer on the following problem related to Hibernate. This pertains to implementing inheritance using a single database table with a parent-child relationship to itself. For example: CREATE TABLE Employee ( empId BIGINT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, empName VARCHAR(100) NOT NULL, managerId BIGINT, CONSTRAINT pk_employee PRIMARY KEY (empId) ) Here, the managerId column may be null, or may point to another row of the Employee table. Business rule requires the Employee to know about all his reportees and for him to know about his/her manager. The business rules also allow rows to have null managerId (the CEO of the organisation doesn't have a manager). How do we map this relationship in Hibernate, standard many-to-one relationship doesn't work here? Example code would be appreciated.

• TSQL Query: Escaping Special Characters

  Hello all, I am trying to escape special characters in a TSQL query. I have done this before: SELECT columns FROM table WHERE column LIKE '%\%%' ESCAPE '\' And it has worked. Now I have tried to do this now: UPDATE match SET rule_name='31' ESCAPE '\' But it has failed. I know none of the vlaues have a \ but it should still work. I am guessing its because it needs a LIKE statement but how else can I escape characters that I am adding to a database? In addition, does anyone have a link to all the special characters that should be escaped, I couldn't find any documentation on this! Thanks all for any help
