• Integrate openid4java to GWT Project

  Hi, I created an GWT project in eclipse. Now I tried to implement openId with using the openid4java library. I imported the .jar files via properties--java build path: openid4java-0.9.5.jar lib/*.jar In addition I copied the .jar files into the war/WEB-INF/lib directory. The problem at hand comes up when I call the authenticate() method. Then I get a: HTTP ERROR 500 Problem accessing /openid/openid.   Hi all, I'm writing a Excel class using Microsoft.Interropt.Excel DLL. I finish all function but I have an error in my Destructor. I Want to save all changes to my file and I want to release all source. I want to all of them in my destructor. But In my destructor, Excel.ApplicationClass, Workbook and Worksheet objects are fill by an Exception which have message "COM object that has been separated from its underlying RCW cannot be used." So I can't save nothing, close nothing because i can't access workbook or worksheet object. Can't I access the class private members in Destructor?

• Strange thing about .NET 4.0 filesystem enumeration functionality

  I just read a page of "Whats new .NET Framework 4.0". I have trouble understanding the last paragraph: To remove open handles on enumerated directories or files Create a custom method (or function in Visual Basic) to contain your enumeration code. Apply the MethodImplAttribute attribute with the NoInlining option to the new method. For example: [MethodImplAttribute(MethodImplOptions.NoInlining)] Private void Enumerate() Include the following method calls, to run after your enumeration code: * The GC.Collect() method (no parameters). * The GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers() method. Why the attribute NoInlining? What harm would inlining do here? Why call the garbage collector manually, why not making the enumerator implement IDisposable in the first place? I suspect they use FindFirstFile()/FindNextFile() API calls for the imlementation, so FindClose() has to be called in any case if the enumeration is done.

  Update: Looks like the query does not throw any timeout. The connection is timing out. This is a sample code for executing a query. Sometimes, while executing time consuming queries, it throws a timeout exception. I cannot use any of these techniques: 1) Increase timeout. 2) Run it asynchronously with a callback. • Hibernate schema parameter doesn't work in @SequenceGenerator annotation

When saving the object of MyClass it generates the following SQL query: select nextval('my_table_id_seq') So there is no schema prefix and therefore the sequence cannot be found. When I write the sequenceName like sequenceName = "my_schema.my_table_id_seq" everything works. Do I have misunderstandings for meaning of schema parameter or is it a bug? Any ideas how to make schema parameter working?

• Java 'Prototype' pattern - new vs clone vs class.newInstance

  In my project there are some 'Prototype' factories that create instances by cloning a final private instance. The author of those factories says that this pattern provides better performance than calling 'new' operator. Using google to get some clues about that, I've found nothing really relevant about that. Here is a small excerpt found in a javdoc from an unknown project javdoc from an unknown project Sadly, clone() is rather slower than calling new. However it is a lot faster than calling java.lang.Class.newInstance(), and somewhat faster than rolling our own "cloner" method. For me it's looking like an old best practice of the java 1.1 time. Does someone know more about this ? Is this a good practice to use that with 'modern' jvm ?

I need to set this variable obj from an object outside of the widget so that the variable is copied not just a pointer to another object.   Similar to this Java question. I would like to specify that a variable implements multiple interfaces. For instance private {IFirstInterface, ISecondInterface} _foo; public void SetFoo({IFirstInterface, ISecondInterface} value) { _foo = value; } Requirements: I don't have the ability to add an interface to most type that would be passed in to Foo. So I can't create a third interface that inherits from IFirstInterface and ISecondInterface. I would like to avoid making the containing class generic if possible because the type of Foo doesn't have much to do with the class and the user isn't likely to know it at compile time. I need to use foo to access methods in both interfaces at a later time. I would like to do this in a compiler safe way, i.e. no trying to cast to the interface just before trying to use it. If foo does not implement both interfaces quite a bit of functionality won't work properly. Is this possible?

  I'm trying to push a changeset from a local Mercurial repository created with TortoiseHg to a remote Git repository. I have hg-git installed and configured and it will pull just fine. But when I run the push it gives me this Command hg push git+ssh://git@dummyrepo:username/repo.git Result pushing to git+ssh://git@dummyrepo:username/repo.git importing Hg objects into Git creating and sending data abort: the remote end hung up unexpectedly There are several things I've done to get to this point. But I'm hoping to resolve this last thing because I find TortoiseHg to be much easier to work with than any of the Git tools out there (for windows.) Installed TortoiseHg Pulled down the hg-git from http://bitbucket.org/durin42/hg-git/ Configured mercurial.ini to point to the hg-git library Pulled down dulwich source from git://git.samba.org/jelmer/dulwich.git Compiled dulwich and put it into library.zip for TortoiseHg Configured TortoiseHg to use TortoisePlink.exe for ssh Added my private key to Pageant Any ideas what I could be missing?

We have a command like so: <CommandBinding Command="ApplicationCommands.Paste" CanExecute="HasClipboardData" Executed="OnPasteExecuted"/> And the code for OnPasteExecuted is this: private void OnPasteExecuted(object sender, ExecutedRoutedEventArgs e) { CurrentView.Paste(); e.Handled = true; } That code gets executed twice, and I have no idea why, we also have the other commands: Cut, Copy, Undo, Redo, those work just fine, the problem is only with Paste. • How to properly use Gearman with my PHP application?

  For now I just want to use Gearman for background processing. For example, I need to email a recipient that they have a private message waiting for them once the sender submits their message into the DB. I assume I can run the worker/client and server on my primary server but I have no problems offloading some of the tasks to a different web server. Anyways, my question is how do I handle multiple "functions?" Let's say I need a job that handles the email portion and a job to handle image manipulation. Can I have multiple functions in the worker? I've followed a couple of examples I found online but each example only shows one function being initialized. Do I have to start up multiple "workers" to handle multiple functions?

• Abstract Forms using WinForms

  I’m trying to achieve a similar affect in a WinForms application as a master form does with ASP.NET. My initial thoughts on this were to create a base form and declare it as abstract, but the compiler doesn’t seem to let me do this. public abstract partial class Master : Form { public Master() { InitializeComponent(); } } So I have two questions: Why will the compiler not let me do this? Am I using the wrong syntax or is this a genuine restriction. Can anyone suggest a workaround or better way to do this? This is on VS2003. error C2248: 'A::y' : cannot access protected member declared in class 'A' class A { public: A() : x(0), y(0) {} protected: int x; int y; }; class B : public A { public: B() : A(), z(0) {} B(const A& item) : A(), z(1) { x = item.y;} private: int z; }; The problem is with x = item.y; The access is specified as protected. Why doesn't the constructor of class B have access to A::y?

• Thread Local Storage and local method variables

  In c#, each thread has its own stack space. If this is the case, why is the following code not thread-safe? (It is stated that this code is thread-safe on this post: Locking in C# class Foo { private int count = 0; public void TrySomething() { count++; } } As count is an int (stack variable), surely this value would be isolated to an individual thread, on its own stack, and therefore thread-safe? I am probably missing something here, but I dont understand what is actually in Thread Local Storage if not stack-based variables for the thread?

• Cannot change the Label text!

  I have created a custom control and added a label property to it so at design time we can pick a Label and assign it to that control. so basically I want that if a label is assigned to that control, its text should change as below and also its text should change to bold font, so here is that code: private Label assignedLabel; public Label AssignedLabel { get { return assignedLabel; } set { assignedLabel = value; assignedLabel.Text = @"*" + assignedLabel.Text; assignedLabel.Font = new Font(AssignedLabel.Font, FontStyle.Bold); AssignedLabel.Refresh(); } } the problem is that based on the code above the Font of that assigned label is correctly changing to Bold font, but its Text is not taking affect. why is that happening? how can I fix this issue?
