• PHP Mail() to Gmail = Spam

  Recently Gmail has started marking emails sent directly from my server (using php mail()) as spam and I'm having problems trying to find the issue. If I send an exact copy of the same email from my email client it goes to the Gmail inbox. The emails are plain text, around 7 lines long and contain a URL link in plain text. As the emails sent from my client are getting through fine I'm thinking that the content isn't the issue. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could take a look at the the following headers and give me some advice why the email from the server is being marked as spam. • Canonical Link as a Way of Fighting Scrapers?

  Hi, Let's say several external sites are scraping/harvesting your content and posting it as their own. Let's also say that you maintain a single unique/permanent URL for each piece of content, so that content aliasing (on your site) is never an issue. Is there any value from an SEO perspective to including a canonical link in your header anyway, such that when your site is "scraped", the canonical indication is injected into whatever site is stealing your content (assuming they harvest the raw HTML rather than going in through RSS etc.)? I've heard different things about the behavior of cross-site canonical links, from "they're ignored" to "behavior undefined" to "it can't hurt" to "sure that's exactly what canonical is intended for". My impression was that canonical was a good way of dealing with intra-site but not necessarily inter-site aliasing. Thanks~

  I have javascript inside a .wsf file and I'm getting the error: C:\bin\LDLSInfo.wsf(53, 34) Windows Script Host: Cannot retrieve referenced URL: S:\tools\JScript\lib\StandardWSH.js At line 53, it says <script language="JScript" src="S:\tools\JScript\lib\StandardWSH.js"/> I know that LDLSInfo.wsf (the main script) and StandardWSH.js (the script to load) both work fine, because I've ran them from a different machine. It works fine on one machine and not on the other, both are Windows 7 x64 computers. So I'm thinking I'm missing some .dll's. Thanks for the help, -jb

  Is there any standards/guidelines/good practices for making websites with support of different content and UI? I'm interesting in articles/tutorials, that cover this topics. E.g. there going to be website for multiple countries. And user should have possibility to select UI and content languages separately. I assume that not all content will be translated, so there should be some mechanism for showing "default language" content for specific page. But again, should this "default" be per site, or per country? E.g. in some countries (Belgium, Finland) there are several official languages. If one language is unavailable, should default be second one, or English? Another example: many people prefer English UI (no mater of their origin), but want local scales (inches, meters) and local services. I don't care much about programing languages now, just want to understand what users are expected, what should be scope, and what are good practices.

  I'm trying to write a SQL Server database update script. I want to test for the existence of a column in a table, then if it doesn't exist add the column with a default value, and finally update that column based on the current value of a different column in the same table. I want this script to be runnable multiple times, the first time updating the table and on subsequent runs the script should be ignored. Here I went through the posted answers and suggested choices and I realized that to implement pagination in an application I could still write db level queries and ensure that I could implement pagination, even if in a crude form. However I have few follow up questions now: I am trying to show SMS from a content provider. Suppose I don't want to use content provider; can I access SMS table in database through my application. Aoes android's security framework allow that? How do people generally handle pagination problems in android, related to content that they are not storing but instead are fetching through content providers. (Android's own or custom) Isn't this a bigger problem. I am surprised to find so little text online about it.

  I'm using Selenium to unit test my Perl cgi script and all works fine except in one case where my cgi script returns XML content to the web browser instead of returning HTML content. I'm new to Selenium and only pasted in their sample script to get started, but I can't seem to find a Selenium command in any of the documentation that will recognize that my XML response has been returned. The Selenium commands seem to assume that an HTML page is always being returned.

I can set the text of it with $("#mytextarea").text("foo") I can prepend to the text area like this: $("#mytextarea").prepend("foo") But I cannot prepend to the jquery text() object like this: $("#mytextarea").text().prepend("foo") The reason I want to do this is so that if my user gets me to prepend this text: $("#mytextarea").prepend("<script>alert('lol i haxed uuu!')</script>") ...the script executes and I lose. • Launching python within python and timezone issue

  I had to make a launcher script for my django app, and it seems it somehow switches the timezone to GMT (default being +2), and every datetime is two hours behind when using the script. What could be causing that? My problem is that if the groovy script fails I only get the "error string found" in my cruise webapp and email; its even not in the log files. The groovy script writes it output to stdout and to a logfile. • Timed email reminder in python

  I have written up a python script that allows a user to input a message, his email and the time and they would like the email sent. This is all stored in a mysql database. However, how do I get the script to execute on the said time and date? will it require a cron job? I mean say at 2:15 on april 20th, the script will search the database for all times of 2:15, and send out those emails. But what about for emails at 2:16? I am using a shared hosting provided, so cant have a continously running script. Thanks

  Using Sun Glassfish Enterprise server v2.1.1 I am using "alternatedocroot" via sun-web.xml for my web application to abstract out static content from actual deploy-able code (EAR/WAR) What I have is a cluster of two server instances distributed across two physical hosts - HOST1 and HOST2. "alternatedocroot" points to /data/static-content/ on both HOST1 and HOST2. Would DAS (Domain application server )take care of syncing /data/static-content between HOST1 and HOST2 if I use syncinstances=true option while starting up the cluster? Thanks!

The solution is done using the ASP.Net MVC 4 and VisualStudio 2012. The article assumes the developer to have a fair amount of knowledge on ASP.Net MVC and C#. Tools Used Visual Studio 2012 ASP.Net MVC 4 Nuget Package Manager JQGrid  is one of the client grid framework built on top of the JQuery framework. It helps in building a beautiful grid with paging, sorting and exiting options. There are also other features available as extension plugins and developers can write their own if needed. You can download the JQgrid from the  JQGrid  homepage or as NUget package. I have given below the command to download the JQGrid through the package manager console. From the tools menu select “Library Package Manager” and then select “Package Manager Console”. I have given the screenshot below. This command will pull down the latest JQGrid package and adds them in the script folder. Once the script is downloaded and referenced in the project update the bundleconfig file to add the script reference in the pages. Bundleconfig can be found in the  App_Start  folder in the project structure. bundles .Add (newStyleBundle(“~/Content/jqgrid”).Include (“~/Content/ui.jqgrid.css”)); bundles.Add( newScriptBundle( “~/bundles/jquerygrid”) .Include( “~/Scripts/jqGrid/jquery.jqGrid*”)); Once added the config’s refer the bundles to the Views/Shared/LayoutPage.cshtml. Add the following lines to the head section of the page. @Styles.Render(“~/Content/jqgrid”) Add the following lines to the end of the page before html close tags. @Scripts.Render(“~/bundles/jquery”) @Scripts.Render(“~/bundles/jqueryui”) @Scripts.Render(“ ~/bundles/jquerygrid”)              That’s all to be done from the view perspective. Once these steps are done the developer can start coding for the JQGrid. In this example we will modify the HomeController for the demo. The index action will be the default action. We will add an argument for this index action. Let it be nullable bool. It’s just to mark the pdf request. In the Index.cshtml we will add a table tag with an id “ gridTable “. We will use this table for making the grid. Since JQGrid is an extension for the JQUery we will initialize the grid setting at the  script  section of the page. This script section is marked at the end of the page to improve performance. The script section is placed just below the bundle reference for JQuery and JQueryUI. It’s an opensource library readily available as NUget library. This command will pulldown latest available library. I am using the version 4.1.2.0. The latest version may have changed. There are three main things in this library. Document This is the document class which takes care of creating the document sheet with particular size. We have used A4 size. There is also an option to define the rectangle size. This document instance will be further used in next methods for reference. PdfWriter PdfWriter takes the filename and the document as the reference. This class enables the document class to generate the PDF content and save them in a file. Font Using the FONT class the developer can control the font features. Since I need a nice looking font I am giving the Verdana font. Following this PdfPTable and PdfPCell are used for generating the normal table layout. We have created two set of fonts for header and footer. Font headerFont=FontFactory .GetFont(“Verdana”, 10, Color .WHITE); Font rowfont=FontFactory .GetFont(“Verdana”, 10, Color .BLUE);   We are getting the header columns as string array. Columns argument array is looped and header is generated. We are using the headerfont for this purpose. Then the control moves to the controller which will take care of sending the response as a JSON result with a filename. If the file name is not given then the PDF will open in the same page otherwise a popup will open up asking whether to save the file or open file. Return File(filePath, “application/pdf”,“list.pdf”);   The final result screen is shown below. PDF file opened below to show the output. Conclusion: This is how the export pdf is done for JQGrid. The problem area that is addressed here is the clientside grid frameworks won’t support PDF’s export. In that time it’s better to have a fine grained control over the data and generated PDF. iTextSharp has helped us to achieve our goal.
