bat file using winrar taking too long to run

hi guys, i have this scripts which extracts all my folder's and files from my c:\projects locations and put its in winrar and transfers them to c:\backup\project for /f "delims==" %%D in ('DIR C:\projects /A /B /S') do ( "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.EXE" m -r "c:\backup\projects.rar" "%%D" ) i have also tried the below script which uses the same source c:\projects but put them in their own separate winrar folder like in the source then transfers the folders into my c:\backup. FOR /F "DELIMS==" %%D in ('DIR C:\projects /AD /B') DO ( "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.EXE" m -r "C:\Backup\%%D.rar" "%%D" ) my question is, my second scripts only takes two hours to run when my first script takes over 24 hours to run, is there any way to make my first script faster? if anything shouldn't my first script be faster?

Understanding memory and cpu speed

Firstly, I am working on a windows xp 64 machine with 4gb ram and 2.29 ghz x4 I am indexing 220,000 lines of text that are more or less the same length. These are divided into 15 equally sized files. File 1/15 takes 1 minute to index. As the script indexes more files, it seems to take much longer with file 15/15 taking 40 minutes. My understanding is that the more I put in memory, the faster the script is. The dictionary is indexed in a hash, so fetch operations should be O(1). I am not sure where the script would be hanging the CPU. I have the script here.

MySQL InnoDB insertion is very slow

We use MySQL server 5.1.43 64-bit edition. InnoDB is used as engine. We have a sql script which we execute every time we build the application. On ubuntu machine with MySQL server and InnoDB engine it takes about 55 seconds to complete the execution. If I run the same script on OSX, it takes close to 3 minutes! Any ideas why OSX is so slow while executing this script?

Problems with VBScript - RegRead when running as a service

I am working on a script that runs under a custom installation utility, which is running as a service. To get the current user name the script executes this command: str_Acct_Name_Val = "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Logon User Name" str_Acct_Name = RegRead(str_Acct_Name_Val) When I run the script from the command prompt, it can read that value just fine (under an administrator account). When the value is attempted to be read with service/local system privileges, the read fails. What is the problem here? EDIT: Some additional information. When running as a service calling the current user name returns "SYSTEM" and my guess is that HKCU doesn't "exist" under the view of the SYSTEM, since there is technically no current user. There is a user logged in at the time, but not in the scope of the running script. Maybe there is somewhere in HKLM I could find the currently logged on user?

jQuery UI - Draggable is not a function?

Hi, I've trying to use the draggable effect on some divs on a page, but whenever I load the page, I get the error message: Error: $(".draggable").draggable is not a function I've had a look around it seemed other people were having this problem as they had not included the jQuery UI javascript file, but I definitely have. Dynamically load Jquery into .js page

Please excuse me if I'm simple here, I want to create a simple widget that people can access from their websites - e.g by copy/past something like <script language="javascript" src="test2.js"></script> <div id="test"></div> anywhere in their web pages. where is dynamically filled via Jquery and the functions in/on test2.js. I can do it if JQuery is actually "printed" on the page of test2.js, but I cannot get any JQuery functions to work if I try to include/call JQuery dynamically. How do you call JQuery via javascript and then get it to work with the functions on the page? And/Or is there an easy way to add the <div id="test"></div> dynamically aswell? Sure I can body.append etc. but that only adds at the bottom of the page. Is there a way to .append in the position where the script include <script language="javascript" src="test2.js"></script> is actually placed? Hope I make sence.

Is it possible to easily convert SqlCommand to T-SQL string ?

Why is Magento 1.4 including javascript files by filesystem path?

I am in the process of testing a Magento 1.3 site using Magento 1.4. I am seeing very weird and inconsistent behavior. Instead of including the URL of my javascript files, Magento is creating tags with the full filesystem path of the js files, as so: <script type="text/javascript" src="/home/my_username/public_html/js/prototype/prototype.js"></script> I believe this is related to the new "Themes JavaScript and CSS files combined to one file" function. In fact, when I log into the admin and click "Flush JavaScript/CSS Cache", then the first page load is successful, and I see a single JS include similar to: <script type="text/javascript" src="/media/js/5b8cfac152fcb2a5f93ef9571d338c54.js"></script> But subsequent age loads load every single JS file, with the full path names. Which obviously isn't going to work. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong or how to fix this issue?

How to get R to recognize your working directory as its working directory?

I use R under Windows on several machines. I know you can set the working directory from within an R script, like this setwd("C:/Documents and Settings/username/My Documents/x/y/z") ... but then this breaks the portability of the script. It's also annoying to have to reverse all the slashes (since Windows gives you backslashes) Is there a way to start R in a particular working directory so that you don't need to do this at the script level?

How does one inject variables into page templates from a custom Drupal module?

We've created a custom module for organizing and publishing our newsletter content. The issue I'm running into now -- and I'm new to theming and Drupal module development, so it could just be a knowledge issue as opposed to a Drupal issue -- is how to get each newsletter themed. At this point the URL structure of our newsletter will be: /newsletters/{newsletter-name}/{edition-name}/{issue-date} which means that we can create template files in our theme using filenames like page-newsletters-{newsletter-name}-{edition-name}.tpl.php, which is great. The one issue I'm running into is that all of the content comes through in the $content variable of the theme. I'd like to have it come through as different variables (so that I can, inside the theme, place certain content in certain areas.) Is there a proper way for doing this?

jQuery jScrollPane - it simply won't work! :'(

Hey folks, OK - I'll admit, I'm quite a beginner in this jQuery-department. I've probably made some amateur mistake, but hey, you gotta learn somewhere! :) So I'm using jScrollPane: http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/jScrollPane/jScrollPane.html I want to use it style the scrollable area in my second column. Specifically, I would like to apply and format the scrollbars on the div #ajaxresults My page is... rather jQuery heavy. I don't know if any variables are conflicting or something... in fact I really have no idea at all why this isn't working. I've set, as the jScrollPane docs say, overflow:auto on it but still no luck. I find that when jScrollPane DOES seem to 'run' it just moves the div down about 100 pixels. Try it for yourself. Perhaps someone could help? There's quite a few jQuery plugins there so I don't know if something's colliding/crashing etc... Please note the site is still in development between myself and a friend, which explains the personal messages we submit to each other ('Hi Donnie!' etc. :D ). Also, when you view the page nothing may appear in the second column for a few seconds - it's just fetching the data via Ajax. So give it a little time. Thanks very much! Jack

SharePoint 2010 / ASP.Net Integration - Looking for advice

I have been Googling a problem that I have with trying to integrate the web application that I am working on with SharePoint 2010. The web application is a wiki style tool that allows users to log in via forms authentication or WIA against Active Directory and create content for themselves and others. What we would like to do is to allow a user have a page with the content they have created in our web application mixed in with content that they have living on the SharePoint server. For example, they may want to see a list of documents that they have on the SharePoint server mixed in with some of their content. To accomplish this, we would like to take the credentials the user has logged into our web application with (for example MYDOMAIN\jsmith) and be able to query SharePoint for the documents of that same user (MYDOMAIN\jsmith) WITHOUT the user being prompted to re-enter their credentials to access the SharePoint server (we are trying to avoid the double-hop problem) We have come up with some options for how we want to do this, but we are unsure of what the best approach is. For example, we could - Have a global user, shared by all users to get information we need from SharePoint. The downside is that we cannot filter SharePoint content to a particular user - We could store the users credentials when they log in, but that would only work for users authenticating via forms auth and would be a security issue that some users/clients would not like - Writing a SharePoint extension using WCF to allow us to access the information we need, however we'd still have the issue of figuring out how to impersonate the user we want. Neither of these options are ideal and in our investigation we came across the Claims Authentication/STS option which seems like it is trying to solve the problem we are having. So my question is, based on what I have written, is Claims/STS the best approach for us? We have not been able to find much direction on how to use this method to call into SharePoint from a Web Application and pass along the existing credentials. Does anyone have any experience with any of these issues?

Outlook VBA - Find & Replace Incoming Emails

Good morning everyone at Stackoverflow, I am trying to find a VBA script that finds and replaces a certain text in incoming e-mails. So far i've been unable to find such a script that is working. I found several scripts to find and replace stuff in the e-mail but these don't work as a rule on incoming e-mails, they only work on outgoing / creating e-mails. Does anyone have such a script that they can share with me? I would like to find & replace a certain text on every incoming e-mail. I would really apreciate it! Animate background image change with jQuery

Fancy Box doesnt work please help

I recently came across fancy box located here, I've followed every step in the instructions perfectly, but it doesn't work, anyone know what might be the problem? How to send web browser a loading page, then some time later a results page

I've wasted at least a half day of my company's time searching the Internet for an answer and I'm getting wrapped around the axle here. I can't figure out the difference between all the different technology choices (long polling, ajax streaming, comet, XMPP, etc.) and I can't get a simple hello world example working on my PC. I am running Apache 2.2 and ActivePerl 5.10.0. JavaScript is completely acceptable for this solution. All I want to do is write a simple Perl CGI script that when accessed, it immediately returns some HTML that tells the user to wait or maybe sends an animated GIF. Then without any user intervention (no mouse clicks or anything) I want the CGI script to at some time later replace the wait message or the animated GIF with the actual results from their query. I know this is simple stuff and websites do it all the time using JavaScript, but I can't find a single working example that I can cut and paste onto my machine that will work in Perl. Here is my simple Hello World example that I've compiled from various Internet sources, but it doesn't seem to work. When I refresh this Perl CGI script in my web browser it prints nothing for 5 seconds, then it prints the PLEASE BE PATIENT web page, but not the results web page. So the Ajax XMLHttpRequest stuff obviously isn't working right. Can I use Sikuli as an Jython library in my project?

Sikuli is really cool, but it's working in its buildin Jython environment, the Sikuli IDE. So I m wondering is it possible to import Sikuli as an external library to my Jython library? I saw from Sikuli's website that they have this Python module which provides all Sikuli actions like click and type. Did find: /eclipse_3.4.2/workspace/Jython/src/tmplib/libVDictProxy.jnilib: no matching architecture in universal wrapper I m using Jython 2.2.1 and Mac 10.6.2 (32-bit mode). I have also set to use 32-bit mode first in Java Preference.

prototype/javascript - firefox not firing keypress/keydown event unless focus is in textbox

The following works fine on IE6, IE7, and chrome. EDIT2: Furthermore, it works fine when focus is on the input element. I want it fire for all keydowns.
