  • How to Select Items in Dropdown in Selenium

    - by Marcus Gladir
Firstly, I have been trying to get the dropdown from this web page: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Interconnect/Home/Products/ProductCatalog/Catalog/?PC_Z7_RJH9U5230O73D0ISNF9B3C3SI1000000_nid=RFCNF5FK7WitWK7G49LP38glNZJXPCDXLDbl This is the code I have: import urllib2 from bs4 import BeautifulSoup import re from pprint import pprint import sys from selenium import common from selenium import webdriver import selenium.webdriver.support.ui as ui from boto.s3.key import Key import requests url = 'http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Interconnect/Home/Products/ProductCatalog/Catalog/?PC_Z7_RJH9U5230O73D0ISNF9B3C3SI1000000_nid=RFCNF5FK7WitWK7G49LP38glNZJXPCDXLDbl' element_xpath = '//*[@id="Component1"]' driver = webdriver.PhantomJS() driver.get(url) element = driver.find_element_by_xpath(element_xpath) element_xpath = '/option[@value="02"]' all_options = element.find_elements_by_tag_name("option") for option in all_options: print("Value is: %s" % option.get_attribute("value")) option.click() source = driver.page_source.encode('utf-8', 'ignore') driver.quit() source = str(source) soup = BeautifulSoup(source, 'html.parser') print soup What prints out is this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "../../../../test.py", line 58, in <module> Value is: XX main() File "../../../../test.py", line 46, in main option.click() File "/home/eric/dev/octocrawler-env/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/selenium-2.33.0-py2.7.egg/selenium/webdriver/remote/webelement.py", line 54, in click self._execute(Command.CLICK_ELEMENT) File "/home/eric/dev/octocrawler-env/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/selenium-2.33.0-py2.7.egg/selenium/webdriver/remote/webelement.py", line 228, in _execute return self._parent.execute(command, params) File "/home/eric/dev/octocrawler-env/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/selenium-2.33.0-py2.7.egg/selenium/webdriver/remote/webdriver.py", line 165, in execute self.error_handler.check_response(response) File "/home/eric/dev/octocrawler-env/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/selenium-2.33.0-py2.7.egg/selenium/webdriver/remote/errorhandler.py", line 158, in check_response raise exception_class(message, screen, stacktrace) selenium.common.exceptions.ElementNotVisibleException: Message: u'{"errorMessage":"Element is not currently visible and may not be manipulated","request":{"headers":{"Accept":"application/json","Accept-Encoding":"identity","Connection":"close","Content-Length":"81","Content-Type":"application/json;charset=UTF-8","Host":"127.0.0.1:51413","User-Agent":"Python-urllib/2.7"},"httpVersion":"1.1","method":"POST","post":"{\\"sessionId\\": \\"30e4fd50-f0e4-11e3-8685-6983e831d856\\", \\"id\\": \\":wdc:1402434863875\\"}","url":"/click","urlParsed":{"anchor":"","query":"","file":"click","directory":"/","path":"/click","relative":"/click","port":"","host":"","password":"","user":"","userInfo":"","authority":"","protocol":"","source":"/click","queryKey":{},"chunks":["click"]},"urlOriginal":"/session/30e4fd50-f0e4-11e3-8685-6983e831d856/element/%3Awdc%3A1402434863875/click"}}' ; Screenshot: available via screen And the weirdest most infuriating bit of it all is that sometimes it actually all works out. I have no clue what's going on here.

  • How can I stop rails validating xml?

    - by Andrei T. Ursan
    I'm submitting to a rails webservice the following message: xmlPostData = "<message> <message-text>" + MESSAGE_WITH_XML + "</message-text> <name>" + subject + "</name> <f1>" + toPhone + "</f1> <f2>" + fromPhone + "</f2> </message>"; The problem is the the field with contain a text with XML data, is a workaround but I need to be able to submit that xml to the db and get it from there. Can I stop rails validating and replacing my xml in json format? this is how it looks: --- !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess smil: !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess head: !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess layout: !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess root_layout: !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess height: &quot;600&quot; background_color: white width: &quot;800&quot; type: text/smil-basic-layout body: !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess par: !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess text: !map:HashWithIndifferentAccess left: &quot;33&quot; begin: &quot;33&quot; dur: &quot;33&quot; val: 34343434343434343aaaaaaa height: &quot;33&quot; width: &quot;33&quot; top: &quot;33&quot; And this is the ruby method from the rails webservice: # POST /messages # POST /messages.xml def create @message = Message.new(params[:message]) respond_to do |format| if @message.save flash[:notice] = 'Message was successfully created.' format.html { redirect_to(@message) } format.xml { render :xml => @message, :status => :created, :location => @message } else format.html { render :action => "new" } format.xml { render :xml => @message.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end Is a workaround but for the moment this has to work ...

  • Increase application performance on Amazon AWS

    - by Honus Wagner
I've got a client with an MVC v1 (.NET) application running on a micro instance. On this instance, I've got .NET, IIS 7.5, and MS SQL Server 2008 running to handle the application. The client has reported that it is taking nearly 10 seconds to process each request. Even loading the initial login page takes about that long, then logging in takes that long, etc etc. The currently running instance specs are as follows: 615 MB RAM Intel Xenon CPU E5430 @ 2.66GHz 2.78 GHz 64-Bit Is the memory availability the issue? or is it the processing power? I forsee two options: Change to a larget instance Set up a 2-tier architecture with two micro instances Which of these will give the application better performance? Thanks in advance.

  • NAS that supports NZB downloading for around £150 ($220) or less (without hard drive)

    - by Jigs
I have seen a number of NAS's that are around that price, but I am worried that they may not be able to handle the processing of .rar files (I know that can be quite CPU intensive). Does anyone have any experiences with sabnzbd or hellanzb - or similar on their NAS? In terms of features the main requirement is NZB downloading - I am quite flexible on the other features. Wifi support would be nice, but not essential. Torrent downloading would also be nice. One disk drive would probably be enough. Easy installation of application would be nice... but again I am sure I can follow a tutorial.

  • The ViewData item that has the key 'MY KEY' is of type 'System.String' but must be of type 'IEnumerable<SelectListItem>'.

    - by JBibbs
I am trying to populate a dropdown list from a database mapped with Linq 2 SQL, using ASP.NET MVC 2, and keep getting this error. I am so confused because I am declaring a variable with the type IEnumerable<SelectListItem> on the second line, but the error makes me think this is not the case. I feel like this should be very simple, but I am struggling. Any help is appreciated. Here are the interesting bits of my controller: public ActionResult Create() { var db = new DB(); IEnumerable<SelectListItem> basetypes = db.Basetypes.Select(b => new SelectListItem { Value = b.basetype, Text = b.basetype }); ViewData["basetype"] = basetypes; return View(); } And here are the interesting bits of my view: <div class="editor-label"> <%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.basetype) %> </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.DropDownList("basetype") %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.basetype) %> </div> Here is the Post action when submitting the Form // POST: /Meals/Create [HttpPost] public ActionResult Create(Meal meal) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { try { // TODO: Add insert logic here var db = new DB(); db.Meals.InsertOnSubmit(meal); db.SubmitChanges(); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } catch { return View(meal); } } else { return View(meal); } } Thanks.

  • Using Performance Monitor To Get IIS7 Response Turnaround Time

    - by alphadogg
I have a MVC2 web application on W2KR2/IIS7 that I'd like to benchmark/monitor. Some XHR requests by a browser-based client are suddenly taking 8-10 sec when they used to take much less time (as per Chrome Developer Tool timings). The underlying SQL Server queries, using the same params, runs in 1.4s according to total execution time client statistics from SSMS. I'm assuming that there are various counters that can specifically dissect time taken/waiting/processing between IIS7 itself and the web application? For example, can I check how long it takes to get a response from IIS7 app and DB? How about how long it takes to serve IIS7?

  • jquery use return data from 2 functions in another function ---always get undefined. why ??

    - by user253530
    Function socialbookmarksTableData(data) is called by another function to generate the content of a table -- data is a JSON object. Inside the function i call 2 other functions that use getJSON and POST (with json as a return object) to get some data. The problem is: though the functions execute correctly i get undefined value for the 2 variables (bookmarkingSites, bookmarkCategories). Help with a solution please. function socialbookmarksGetBookmarkCategories(bookmarkID) { var toReturn = ''; $.post("php/socialbookmark-get-bookmark-categories.php",{ bookmarkID: bookmarkID },function(data){ $.each(data,function(i,categID){ toReturn += '<option value ="' + data[i].categID + '">' + data[i].categName + '</option>'; }) return toReturn; },"JSON"); } function socialbookmarksGetBookmarkSites() { var bookmarkingSites = ''; $.getJSON("php/socialbookmark-get-bookmarking-sites.php",function(bookmarks){ for(var i = 0; i < bookmarks.length; i++){ //alert( bookmarks[i].id); bookmarkingSites += '<option value = "' + bookmarks[i].id + '">' + bookmarks[i].title + '</option>'; } return bookmarkingSites; }); } function socialbookmarksTableData(data) { var toAppend = ''; var bookmarkingSites = socialbookmarksGetBookmarkSites(); $.each(data.results, function(i, id){ var bookmarkCategories = socialbookmarksGetBookmarkCategories(data.results[i].bookmarkID); //rest of the code is not important }); $("#searchTable tbody").append(toAppend); }

  • PHP script timed out, or otherwise killed on Apache under CentOS (shared host)

    - by MarkS
When trying to run a PHP script (CentOS, Apache, PHP 5.2), that may take a long time, it is apparently killed after 45 minutes. PHP script is invoked from a web browser, and in certain situations, it will do a lot of work processing a POP3 mailbox and sending emails as part of an automated monitoring system. Running the PHP script from the command line might be a better option, but I want to understand what is going on so far. I ran a test script, and it appeared to finally give an internal server error (500?) after 45 minutes. Where is this limit set and what is killing the script, if that is what is happening? It's running on a shared host on Hostgator.com.

  • Guaranteed way to find the ildasm.exe and ilasm.exe files regardless of .NET version/environment?

    - by m-y
Is there a way to programmatically get the FileInfo/Path of the ildasm.exe/ilasm.exe executables? I'm attempting to decompile and recompile a dll/exe file appropriately after making some alterations to it (I'm guessing PostSharp does something similar to alter the IL after the compilation). I found a blog post that pointed to: var pfDir = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolders.ProgramFiles)); var sdkDir = Path.Combine(pfDir, @"Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\bin"); ... However, when I ran this code the directory did not exist (mainly because my SDK version is 7.1), so on my local machine the correct path is @"Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\bin". How do I ensure I can actually find the ildasm.exe? Similarly, I found another blog post on how to get access to ilasm.exe as: string windows = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.System); string fwork = Path.Combine(windows, @"..\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727"); ... While this works, I noticed that I have Framework and Framework64, and within Framework itself I have all of the versions up to v4.0.30319 (same with Framework64). So, how do I know which one to use? Should it be based on the .NET Framework version I'm targetting? Summary: How do I appropriately guarantee to find the correct path to ildasm.exe? How do I appropriately select the correct ilasm.exe to compile?

  • In SSIS Convert European Currency Format to United States Currency Format

    - by Rob
I have an interesting problem. I have an SSIS package that processes account data. We are now processing files from Europe. These files are in a CSV format using text qualifiers. For an example of the problem: In the United States the currency format is 123456.99 (We purposely leave the thousands separator out). The files sent from Europe are coming in with two formats. One is 123456,99 and the other is 123.456,00. SSIS is attempting to parse the text file and place it into a NUMERIC(20,2) field. This causes a parsing error in SSIS even with the text qualifiers. If I change the field to CURRENCY it sends a conversion error. I would like for SSIS to deal with this directly without requiring the data to be in the United States format. Has anyone had this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Rob

  • gpupdate failing when using Samba 4 AD DC

    - by darthfoolish
I have a Samba 4 AD domain running with 2 DCs on Centos 6.5, with a named DNS backend. I have multiple Windows 7 machines joined to this domain, which is fine. However, I can't get GPOs to apply. When running gpupdate, I get the following output The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\sysvol\\Policies{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini Obviously, you don't normally see what it's trying to connect to when it's successful, but I would have thought the first place shows up, I should be seeing So, what governs what data gets put in between those angle brackets? If it is just supposed to be the domain, then what else could be going wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Calculating Utilization in a Stop-And-Wait Protocol

    - by AlanTuring
So theres this question in my book and it doesn't state exactly how to go about actually calculating utilization anywhere, and i'm not being able to find any substantial information regarding everything i need to solve this question.(My mid term is next week). Anyway, here's the question: The distance from earth to a distant planet is approximately 9 × 10^10 m. What is the channel utilization if a stop-and-wait protocol is used for frame transmission on a 64 Mbps point-to-point link? Assume that the frame size is 32 KB and the speed of light is 3 × 10^8 m/s. Suppose a sliding window protocol is used instead. For what send window size will the link utilization be 100%? You may ignore the protocol processing times at the sender and the receiver. thanks to anyone who has any idea.

  • Simulating Google Appengine's Task Queue with Gearman

    - by sotangochips
One of the characteristics I love most about Google's Task Queue is its simplicity. More specifically, I love that it takes a URL and some parameters and then posts to that URL when the task queue is ready to execute the task. This structure means that the tasks are always executing the most current version of the code. Conversely, my gearman workers all run code within my django project -- so when I push a new version live, I have to kill off the old worker and run a new one so that it uses the current version of the code. My goal is to have the task queue be independent from the code base so that I can push a new live version without restarting any workers. So, I got to thinking: why not make tasks executable by url just like the google app engine task queue? The process would work like this: User request comes in and triggers a few tasks that shouldn't be blocking. Each task has a unique URL, so I enqueue a gearman task to POST to the specified URL. The gearman server finds a worker, passes the url and post data to a worker The worker simply posts to the url with the data, thus executing the task. Assume the following: Each request from a gearman worker is signed somehow so that we know it's coming from a gearman server and not a malicious request. Tasks are limited to run in less than 10 seconds (There would be no long tasks that could timeout) What are the potential pitfalls of such an approach? Here's one that worries me: The server can potentially get hammered with many requests all at once that are triggered by a previous request. So one user request might entail 10 concurrent http requests. I suppose I could have a single worker with a sleep before every request to rate-limit. Any thoughts?

  • Is Flash typically slow on Linux?

    - by CSarnia
Specifically, I'm running Mint 8 (Helena). I'm extremely new to Linux, and was searching for a solution that was user-friendly and GUI oriented. The box won't be used for much other than web browsing and word processing. Anyway, it runs relatively smoothly, except for Youtube videos... especially full-screen, which runs at like 1 FPS, and even after closing, slows Firefox to a crawl until I restart it. I'd seen an xkcd comic on the matter, but regarded it as a joke until now. Is this actually a problem? Are there any remedies I can try to smooth the applications?

  • Hide notification area GPO not applying

    - by Richard
I have created a GPO to hide the notification area on Windows XP SP3. The GPO must apply to all students but only in certain rooms so I've also enabled loopback processing on the GPO and linked to the OUs the computers are in. I've then added a group to the security filter that contains all student accounts. This is not applying. It doesn't even show up in gpresult. I have also tried linking it in the Students OU which contains all student accounts and applying a security filter with a group of the computers I want it to apply to. This didn't work either. It's possible I'm missing something straightforward. Would a WMI filter do the job, and if so how would I go about writing one so that it'll only apply to computers whose name begins with XX-RT for example.

  • samsung HMX-H100P camcorder and video encoding with mencoder

    - by jskg
Hi everyone, my background is totally not related to video stuff so pardon my newbie style. I own a samsung HMX-H100P camcorder and I'm trying to encode videos to be uploaded to Youtube and Vimeo. First problem: videos generated by the camera with no processing appear like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AANbl_DTuzE when I play them with Totem(Linux) or VideoLan. Second problem: When I try to encode the videos produced by the camera using mencoder I get the video at the resolution I chose but those ugly lines and lagging are still present. Here's the command I use: mencoder $inputFile -aspect 16:9 -of lavf -lavfopts format=psp -oac lavc -ovc lavc -lavcopts aglobal=1:vglobal=1:coder=0:vcodec=libx264:acodec=libfaac:vbitrate=4500:abitrate=128 -vf scale=1280:720 -ofps 25000/1001 -o $outputFile Any ideas? Thanks in advance

  • Is jQuery.parseJSON able to process all valid json?

    - by murze
    This piece of valid json (it has been generated using php's json_encode): {"html":"form is NOT valid<form id=\"articleform\" enctype=\"application\/x-www-form-urlencoded\" method=\"post\" action=\"\"><dl class=\"zend_form\">\n<dt id=\"title-label\">&nbsp;<\/dt>\n<dd id=\"title-element\">\n<input type=\"text\" name=\"title\" id=\"title\" value=\"Artikel K\"><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"articleFormSubmitted-label\">&nbsp;<\/dt>\n<dd id=\"articleFormSubmitted-element\">\n<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"articleFormSubmitted\" value=\"1\" id=\"articleFormSubmitted\"><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"submit-label\">&nbsp;<\/dt><dd id=\"submit-element\">\n<input type=\"submit\" name=\"submit\" id=\"submit\" value=\"Bewaar artikel\" onclick=\"this.value='Bezig...';\"><\/dd><\/dl><\/form><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\n\t $(\"#articleform\").submit(function(){\n $.post(\"\/admin\/ajax\/contenttree\/node\/9\/ajaxtarget\/ajaxContainer\", $(\"#articleform\").serialize(), function(html){$(\"#ajaxContainer\").html(html);} );\n\t\t return false;\n\t });\n\n <\/script>","newNodeName":""} is giving jQuery.parseJSON(data) and me a hard time. With this piece of code: alert('start'); alert(data); jQuery.parseJSON(data) alert('stop'); I get a message start and then the data (jsonstring above) is shown. The message "stop" never appears. When I use this json: {"html":"test","newNodeName":""} I've verified that my first big chick of json is valid. Why isn't it processed by jQuery.parseJSON Are there any special characters that don't go well with json?

  • HTTP/1.1 Status Codes 400 and 417, cannot choose which

    - by TheDeadLike
I have been referred to here that it might be of better help, I've got a processing file which handles the user sent data, before that, however, it compares the input from client to the expected values to ensure no client-side data change. I can say I don't know lot about HTTP status codes, but I have made up some research on it, and to choose which one is the best for unexpected input handling. So I came up with: 400 Bad Request: The request cannot be fulfilled due to bad syntax 417 Expectation Failed: The server cannot meet the requirements of the Expect request-header field Now, I cannot be really sure which one to use, I have seen 400 Bad Request being used alot, however, whatI get from explanation is that the error is due to an unexistent request rather than an illegal input. On the other side 417 Expectation Failed seems to just fit for my use, however, I have never seen or experimented this header status before. I need your experience and opinions, thanks alot! For a full detailed with form/process page drafts, and my experiments, follow this link.

  • Predictive vs Least Connection Load Balancing Techniques

    - by Mani
I have a windows based desktop application that communicates via TCP to the application servers. (windows 2003). No sticky sessions between client calls. We have exactly 2 servers to load balance and we are thinking to use a F5 hardware NLB. The application is a heavy load types, doing not much bussiness logic in the services but retrieving quite a big amount of data at most of the times. May be on an average 5000 to 10000 records at all times. Used mainly for storing and retirieving data and no special processing of data or calculations running on the server side. I am favouring 'predictive' considering my services take a while at times to return data and hence tracking the feedback would yield some better routing as in predictive. I am not sure if the given data is sufficient enough to suggest some ideas but considering these, what would be some suggestions\things to consider\best between Predictive and Least Connections ? Thanks.

  • SQL Server 2005 database design - many-to-many relationships with hierarchy

    - by Remnant
Note I have completely re-written my original post to better explain the issue I am trying to understand. I have tried to generalise the problem as much as possible. Also, my thanks to the original people who responded. Hopefully this post makes things a little clearer. Context In short, I am struggling to understand the best way to design a small scale database to handle (what I perceive to be) multiple many-to-many relationships. Imagine the following scenario for a company organisational structure: Textile Division Marketing Division | | ---------------------- ---------------------- | | | | HR Dept Finance Dept HR Dept Finance Dept | | | | ---------- ---------- ---------- --------- | | | | | | | | Payroll Hiring Audit Tax Payroll Hiring Audit Accounts | | | | | | | | Emps Emps Emps Emps Emps Emps Emps Emps NB: Emps denotes a list of employess that work in that area When I first started with this issue I made four separate tables: Divisions - Textile, Marketing (PK = DivisionID) Departments - HR, Finance (PK = DeptID) Functions - Payroll, Hiring, Audit, Tax, Accounts (PK = FunctionID) Employees - List of all Employees (PK = EmployeeID) The problem as I see it is that there are multiple many-to-many relationships i.e. many departments have many divisions and many functions have many departments. Question Giving the database structure above, suppose I wanted to do the following: Get all employees who work in the Payroll function of the Marketing Division To do this I need to be able to differentiate between the two Payroll departments but I am not sure how this can be done? I understand that I could build a 'Link / Junction' table between Departments and Functions so that I can retrieve which Functions are in which Departments. However, I would still need to differentiate the Division they belong to. Research Effort As you can see I am an abecedarian when it comes to database deisgn. I have spent the last two days resaerching this issue, traversing nested set models, adjacency models, reading that this issue is known not to be NP complete etc. I am sure there is a simple solution?

  • mysql settings - using the available resources

    - by Christian Payne
I've got a lot of processing work I need to run on a mysql server. I've installed mysql 5.1.45-community on a Win 2007 64bit. Its running on a xenon, 3ghz 6 processors with 8 gig ram. It doesn't seem to matter what queries I run (or the number I run at the same time), when I look in task manager, I'll see one processor is out at 100%. The other 5 are idol. Memory is static at 1.54 gig. When I installed mysql, I used the wizard and selected the default "server" (not workstation) option. I feel like I should be getting more bang for my buck. Is there something else I should be monitoring or something I should change to use the other system resources???

This works fine: echo 'Done' | nc -l -k -p 8080 | grep "GET" >> request_data.txt Now I want to do some further processing before writing the http request data to my txt file (involving regex maniuplation). But if I try to do something like this nothing is written to the file: echo 'Done' | nc -l -k -p 8080 | grep "GET" | grep "HTTP" >> request_data.txt (for simplicity of explanation I've used another grep instead of say awk) Why does the 2nd grep not get any data from the output of the first grep? I'm guessing piping with netcat works differently to what I've assumed to get this far. How do I perform a 2nd grep before writing to my txt file? My debugging so far suggests: It is nothing to do with stderr vs stdout Parentheses don't help

  • Firefox "auto-complete" is very slow

    - by netvope
Firefox version: 3.6 My places.sqlite is rather big (114MB, after being optimized by SpeedyFox.) If I turn on auto-complete, it may take 1 or 2 seconds for Firefox to accept a newly typed URL. To reproduce the issue: Type a URL into the URL bar, press enter. Nothing happens, and Firefox consumes 100% CPU (actually 50% of 2 cores) for 1 to 2 seconds Then Firefox start the network connection and load the webpage. Since it consumes 100% CPU, I don't think the bottleneck is the disk. I have some experience with SQLite and I know a 100MB DB is very small. To achieve the delay Firefox must be doing some expensive processing or inefficient queries. The issue does not appear if: auto-complete is turned off, or the URL is frequently used, or a new profile with no history is used Does anyone have any idea how to solve the problem? Should I file this as a bug? I don't want to give up my 100MB history, but I don't want to give up auto-complete either :)
