  • Hit detection on non-transparent pixel

    - by Abie
    Given a PNG in a web context with some transparent pixels and some non-transparent pixels, is there a way in Javascript to determine if a user has clicked on a non-transparent pixel? A webkit-only solution would be perfectly acceptable.

  • Asp controls Id generation inside repeater

    - by toraan
    I define some controls inside repeater itemtemplate, the problem is with the Id that are generated automatically. This is my page: <asp:Repeater ID="rptThreads" runat="server" onitemcreated="rptThreads_ItemCreated"> <HeaderTemplate> <table cellpadding="0px" cellspacing="0"> </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <tr style="height:50px"> <td> <asp:PlaceHolder ID="plcItemTitle" runat="server"> <asp:Panel id="titleContainer" runat="server" style="position:absolute;"> <asp:HyperLink ID="lnkTitle" runat="server" style="float:left;padding-right:10px;" Text='<%# Container.DataItem%>'/> <asp:Panel id="pnlEditButtons" runat="server" Visible="false" style="vertical-align:middle;z-index:100;display:none;float:left;" > <asp:ImageButton ID="imgbtn1" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/Images/misc/edit.png" /> <asp:ImageButton ID="imgbtn2" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/Images/misc/Rename.png" /> </asp:Panel> </asp:Panel> </asp:PlaceHolder> </td> </tr> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> </table> </FooterTemplate> </asp:Repeater> Now I will try to describe the problem: code-behind: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { int [] array = {1,2,3,4,5}; rptThreads.DataSource = array; rptThreads.DataBind(); } protected void rptThreads_ItemCreated(object sender, RepeaterItemEventArgs e) { if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item || e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem) { Panel editButtonsPanel = e.Item.FindControl("pnlEditButtons") as Panel; editButtonsPanel.Visible = true; Panel containerPanel = e.Item.FindControl("titleContainer") as Panel; //Point of Interest!!!! containerPanel.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "ShowEditButtons('" + editButtonsPanel.ClientID + "');"); } } If I run the page as is, the generated html will be the following (I show only the first 2 items): <table cellpadding="0px" cellspacing="0"> <tr style="height:50px"> <td> <div id="titleContainer" onmouseover="ShowEditButtons('pnlEditButtons');" style="position:absolute;"> <a id="lnkTitle" style="float:left;padding-right:10px;">1</a> <div id="pnlEditButtons" style="vertical-align:middle;z-index:100;display:none;float:left;"> <input type="image" name="imgbtn1" id="imgbtn1" src="Images/misc/edit.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> <input type="image" name="imgbtn2" id="imgbtn2" src="Images/misc/Rename.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> </div> </div> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:50px"> <td> <div id="titleContainer" onmouseover="ShowEditButtons('pnlEditButtons');" style="position:absolute;"> <a id="lnkTitle" style="float:left;padding-right:10px;">2</a> <div id="pnlEditButtons" style="vertical-align:middle;z-index:100;display:none;float:left;"> <input type="image" name="imgbtn1" id="imgbtn1" src="Images/misc/edit.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> <input type="image" name="imgbtn2" id="imgbtn2" src="Images/misc/Rename.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> </div> </div> </td> </tr> As you can see all divs get the SAME ID, THIS I DONT WANT!!! But If I omit this line form the ItemCreated event: containerPanel.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "ShowEditButtons('" + editButtonsPanel.ClientID + "');"); The generated HTML will be the following: <table cellpadding="0px" cellspacing="0"> <tr style="height:50px"> <td> <div id="rptThreads_ctl01_titleContainer" style="position:absolute;"> <a id="rptThreads_ctl01_lnkTitle" style="float:left;padding-right:10px;">1</a> <div id="rptThreads_ctl01_pnlEditButtons" style="vertical-align:middle;z-index:100;display:none;float:left;"> <input type="image" name="rptThreads$ctl01$imgbtn1" id="rptThreads_ctl01_imgbtn1" src="Images/misc/edit.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> <input type="image" name="rptThreads$ctl01$imgbtn2" id="rptThreads_ctl01_imgbtn2" src="Images/misc/Rename.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> </div> </div> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:50px"> <td> <div id="rptThreads_ctl02_titleContainer" style="position:absolute;"> <a id="rptThreads_ctl02_lnkTitle" style="float:left;padding-right:10px;">2</a> <div id="rptThreads_ctl02_pnlEditButtons" style="vertical-align:middle;z-index:100;display:none;float:left;"> <input type="image" name="rptThreads$ctl02$imgbtn1" id="rptThreads_ctl02_imgbtn1" src="Images/misc/edit.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> <input type="image" name="rptThreads$ctl02$imgbtn2" id="rptThreads_ctl02_imgbtn2" src="Images/misc/Rename.png" style="border-width:0px;" /> </div> </div> </td> </tr> All divs get unique IDs, and this I do want My questions are: 1)why it happens? why this line of code messup the ids? 2)how can have the unique ID's and assign javascript in codebehind? I can add this on aspx (it will wotk and I will get unique ids): onmouseover='<%# "javascript:ShowEditButtons(\""+ Container.FindControl("pnlEditButtons").ClientID+ "\");" %>' But I must do it in codebehind because I need to set the javascript only if server validate some things.

  • Define "cyclic data structures"

    - by Earlz
    At the JSON site it says JSON does not support cyclic data structures, so be careful to not give cyclical structures to the JSON stringifier. What does it mean by this? Can someone give me an example of such a data structure in Javascript?

  • How can I calculate a trend line in PHP?

    - by Stephen
    So I've read the two related questions for calculating a trend line for a graph, but I'm still lost. I have an array of xy coordinates, and I want to come up with another array of xy coordinates (can be fewer coordinates) that represent a logarithmic trend line using PHP. I'm passing these arrays to javascript to plot graphs on the client side.

    I want to understand how JVM manages heap for the dynamic allocations. Since every java program is invoked as a thread, when does JVM's garbage collector come into play. Also, how things work for javascript's dynamic allocation ?

  • chrome renders js different depending on the extension of the file to render [testcase included]

    - by pakore
    I was trying to implement an image panner I found here Chrome renders the same document differently depending on the extension of the file requested. I have created a test case, where it works when the file it's not named as test.xhtml You can download the test case from here Does anybody know why or how to solve it? I want my files to be .xhtml In IE and FF it works fine. Code: test.html / test.xhtml (change the name to see that works with one but not with the other). <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"/> <style type="text/css"> /*Default CSS for pan containers*/ .pancontainer { position: relative; /*keep this intact*/ overflow: hidden; /*keep this intact*/ width: 300px; height: 300px; border: 1px solid black; } </style> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/imagepanner.js"></script> </head> <body> <div class="pancontainer" data-orient="center" data-canzoom="yes" style="width: 350px; height: 200px; float: left; position: relative; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; cursor: move; "><img src="./test_files/image.jpg" style="position: absolute; width: 700px; height: 525px; left: -175px; top: -163px; display: block;" /> </div> </body> </html>

  • Configuring a html page from an original demo page

    - by Wold
    I forked into rainyday.js through github, an awesome javascript program made by maroslaw at this link: https://github.com/maroslaw/rainyday.js. Basically I tried taking his demo page and my own photo city.jpg and changed the applicable fields so that I could run it on my own site, but only the picture loads and the script itself doesn't start to run. I'm pretty new to html and javascript so I'm probably omitting something very simple, but here is the script for the demo code: <script src="rainyday.js"></script> <script> function getURLParameter(name) { return decodeURIComponent((new RegExp('[?|&]' + name + '=' + '([^&;]+?)(&|#|;|$)').exec(location.search)||[,''])[1].replace(/\+/g, '%20'))||null; } function demo() { var image = document.getElementById('background'); image.onload = function () { var engine = null; var preset = getURLParameter('preset') || '1'; if (preset === '1') { engine = new RainyDay({ element: 'background', blur: 10, opacity: 1, fps: 30, speed: 30 }); engine.rain([ [1, 2, 8000] ]); engine.rain([ [3, 3, 0.88], [5, 5, 0.9], [6, 2, 1] ], 100); } else if (preset === '2') { engine = new RainyDay({ element: 'background', blur: 10, opacity: 1, fps: 30, speed: 30 }); engine.VARIABLE_GRAVITY_ANGLE = Math.PI / 8; engine.rain([ [0, 2, 0.5], [4, 4, 1] ], 50); } else if (preset === '3') { engine = new RainyDay({ element: 'background', blur: 10, opacity: 1, fps: 30, speed: 30 }); engine.trail = engine.TRAIL_SMUDGE; engine.rain([ [0, 2, 0.5], [4, 4, 1] ], 100); } }; image.crossOrigin = 'anonymous'; if (getURLParameter('imgur')) { image.src = 'http://i.imgur.com/' + getURLParameter('imgur') + '.jpg'; } else if (getURLParameter('img')) { image.src = getURLParameter('img') + '.jpg'; } var youtube = getURLParameter('youtube'); if (youtube) { var div = document.getElementById('sound'); var player = document.createElement('iframe'); player.frameborder = '0'; player.height = '1'; player.width = '1'; player.src = 'https://youtube.com/embed/' + youtube + '?autoplay=1&controls=0&showinfo=0&autohide=1&loop=1'; div.appendChild(player); } } </script> This is where I am naming my background and specifying the photo from within the directory. <body onload="demo();"> <div id="sound" style="z-index: -1;"></div> <div id="parent"> <img id='background' alt="background" src="city.jpg" /> </div> </body> The actual code for the whole entire rainyday.js script can be found here: https://github.com/maroslaw/rainyday.js/blob/master/rainyday.js Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

    - by luca

So my "website".. how should I build it? I thought something like an Iframe and javascript but I have no idea if this makes sense.. any idea?

  • How to determine if the user clicked OK or CANCEL when exiting Silverlight?

    - by eflles
    Based on http://mark.mymonster.nl/2009/02/28/integration-of-browsers-unloading-with-silverlight/ I know when the user closes a browser window containing Silverlight, by use of javascript. This basically creates a popup window, where the user can stay on the page(by clicking CANCEL), or exit the page (by clicking OK). I am interested in how I can determine if the user wants to exit the page, or continue to stay on the page.
