Is it possible in SQLAlchemy to filter by a database function or stored procedure?

We're using SQLalchemy in a project with a legacy database. The database has functions/stored procedures. In the past we used raw SQL and we could use these functions as filters in our queries. I would like to do the same for SQLAlchemy queries if possible. I have read about the @hybrid_property, but some of these functions need one or more parameters, for example; I have a User model that has a JOIN to a bunch of historical records. These historical records for this user, have a date and a debit and credit field, so we can look up the balance of a user at a specific point in time, by doing a SUM(credit) - SUM(debit) up until the given date. We have a database function for that called dbo.Balance(user_id, date_time). I can use this to check the balance of a user at a given point in time. I would like to use this as a criterium in a query, to select only users that have a negative balance at a specific date/time. selection = users.filter(coalesce(Users.status, 0) == 1, coalesce(Users.no_reminders, 0) == 0, dbo.pplBalance(Users.user_id, datetime.datetime.now()) < -0.01).all() This is of course a non-working example, just for you to get the gist of what I'd like to do. The solution looks to be to use hybrd properties, but as I mentioned above, these only work without parameters (as they are properties, not methods). Any suggestions on how to implement something like this (if it's even possible) are welcome. Thanks,

Using an iterator without its container

I am mixing some C and C++ libraries and have only a single pointer available to do some work in a callback function. All I need to do is iterate through a vector. Here's a simplified, untested example: bool call_back(void* data){ done=... if (!done) cout << *data++ << endl; return done; } Note that this function is in an extern "C" block in C++. call_back will be called until true is returned. I want it to cout the next element each time it's called. data is a pointer to something that I can pass from elsewhere in the code (an iterator in the above example, but can be anything). Something from data will likely be used to calculate done. I see two obvious options to give to data: Have data point to my vector. Have data point to an iterator of my vector. I can't use an iterator without having the .end() method available, right? I can't use a vector alone (unless maybe I start removing its data). I could make a struct with both vector and iterator, but is there a better way? What would you do?

I am trying to build a search functionality which at a high level works like this. 1 - I have a Search model, controller with a search_set action and search views/partial to render the search. 2 - At the home page a serach form is loaded with an empty search object or a search object initialized with session[:search] (which contains user search preferences, zip code, proximity, sort order, per page etc). This form has a post(:put) action to search_set. 3 - When a registered user performs a set the params of the search form are collected and a search record is saved against that user. If a unregistered user performs a search then the search set action simply stores the params in the session[:search]. In either case, the search is executed with the given params and the results are displayed. At this point the url of in the location bar is something like.. http://localhost:3000/searches/search_set?stype=1 At this point if the user simply hits enter on the location bar, I get an error that says "No action responded to show" I am guessing because the URL contains search_set which uses a put method and even though I have a search_show (:get) action (which simply reruns the search in the session or saved in the database) does not get called. How can I handle this situation where I can route a user hitting enter into the location bar to a get method? If this does not explain the problem , please let me know I can share more details/code etc. Thanks!

how to make custom ROMs for lesser-known Android devices (i.e., WellcoM A69)

Hi, I have a WellcoM A69 Android phone I would like to start hacking. I bought it in Thailand (I think WellcoM is a Thai company). However, the docs don't explain how to get a recovery menu or anything like that. I would like to figure out how to make custom ROMs for it, because it doesn't have any Google Experience apps and I also want to change the boot screen. How can I go about doing this? If I can't do this, I want to at least be able to use the device in the Eclipse debugger. I select the debugging option under applications but the device still isn't recognized. Is this something that can be disabled by the manufacturer? In any case, I would like to re-enable it if a custom ROM can allow this. If this cannot be done at all, please at least point me in the direction of where I can start writing/building my own ROMs for the G1? I figured that would be a good starting point for learning. UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME win7

i'm having a serious problem with my laptop (Toshiba satellite l40). Two days ago i just turned it off by holding the power button and the next day it didn't start at all. There is a blue screen with an error : UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME, i searched all over the net for a solution, did almost everything like using the windows 7 install disk and trying to repair with the command prompt (check c: /r, bootfix etc.) it runs the check saying there are no errors and when i restart the blue screen again. Can someone please give me some new solution?

I have problem with rotating and moving image (UIView). But together this two animations don't work. Space Ship is rotating, but does not move in direction. Where my mistake? P.S. Early I have specify anchor point (0.5, 0.5). But when I rotate image it coordinates is changing.

Which UPS, for home use, which can automatically shutdown the PC when battery is low?

I am planning to build a single server machine which is highly dependent on data residing in RAM for performance reasons. I am looking for a UPS which can power the PC during a blackout (very rare) and when the battery level is like %20, it sends a signal to Windows 2008 to shutdown. Even if it's only for a few minutes, that's good enough. This is for home use so I am looking for an inexpensive unit ( less than $300? ). Which brand/model is good choice? I prefer one whose battery is easily & cheaply replaced.

Asus Eee-PC 1015PEM

My Asus worked perfectly until yesterday. I assume that the battery drained and AC was not plugged. I turned it on and doesn't chargeat all. It seems that something wrong with my battery. It works from AC but when it is plugged it shows only 4% available charging. When I unplug AC it shuts down right away. I already tried the 45 seconds holding power button method, and I uninstalled in device manager Microsoft ACPI-compliant Method Battery. Nothing helped. Does anybody has any idea?

Cryptography for P2P card game

I'm considering writing a computer adaptation of a semi-popular card game. I'd like to make it function without a central server, and I'm trying to come up with a scheme that will make cheating impossible without having to trust the client. The basic problem as I see it is that each player has a several piles of cards (draw deck, current hand and discard deck). It must be impossible for either player to alter the composition of these piles except when allowed by the game rules (ie drawing or discarding cards), nor should players be able to know what is in their or their oppponent's piles. I feel like there should be some way to use something like public-key cryptography to accomplish this, but I keep finding holes in my schemes. Can anyone suggest a protocol or point me to some resources on this topic? [Edit] Ok, so I've been thinking about this a bit more, and here's an idea I've come up with. If you can poke any holes in it please let me know. At shuffle time, a player has a stack of cards whose value is known to them. They take these values, concatenate a random salt to each, then hash them. They record the salts, and pass the hashes to their opponent. The opponent concatenates a salt of their own, hashes again, then shuffles the hashes and passes the deck back to the original player. I believe at this point, the deck has been randomized and neither player can have any knowledge of the values. However, when a card is drawn, the opponent can reveal their salt, allowing the first player to determine what the original value is, and when the card is played the player reveals their own salt, allowing the opponent to verify the card value.

Possible Duplicate: HP Presario CQ 61-322ER (VV884EA) Wi-Fi hang up! I have my new laptop and don't have Windows XP drivers for it. I found that it contains the Broadcom BCM4310 chip, but when I install any Broadcom driver my laptop hangup on installing bcm5*.sys driver. Only power-off button make any effect. After reboot the device list (Device Manager) contains Broadcom WLAN adapter, but it is marked as disabled, for some hardware errror! Also if I disable device before, and install driver - then - all is OK! But when I try to enable it, Windows hang up anyway (no speaker beep, no mouse input, no keyboard input - nothing) What is the solution?

messed System Files on Mac PPC

My buddy deleted her System folder from her PPC Mac wanting to get that space for something else. She copied it first in another drive (she had partitioned disk).She haven't emptied the Trash Bin yet. The screen just froze right after she moved the folder to Trash. We tried to use the install disk but even if we try Power-C on booting,it would try to continue,display the apple logo page then quickly follow it with black screen filled with dumps of hex codes and "We are hanging here..." We have a Windows-based PC that we tried to connect using ethernet cable but we can't find her computer from there. What should we do now???

Lost in Nodester Installation

I am trying to install my own version of Nodester. I have tried on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and now with CentOS. I am not the most skilled Linux user (~2 months use) so I am at a loss at this point. The instructions are located at https://github.com/nodester/nodester/wiki/Install-nodester#wiki-a. Hardware needed for 2000 users? [closed]

I have school assignment that is fairly well defined, requiring us to come up with a plan for an environment serving dynamic web applications to 2000 users, and should be able to scale up to six thousand. I have done plenty of research as far as load balancing, redundancy, UPSs, etc, but am having a hard time figuring out how much hardware is actually needed in the way of physical servers, ram, processing power, etc. The assignment states that the server will have a lot of dynamic code, email, and a database are required, all utilizing the appropriate microsoft service (MS SQL, Exchange, IIS). I already plan on splitting them out on to separate servers, but can't even fathom the hardware requirements of something that large scale. Could someone with experience weight in on this, or point me two some good articles?

I just started my database and query class on Monday. We met on Monday and just went over the syllabus, and on Wednesday the network at school was down so we couldn't even do the power point lecture. Right now I am working on my first homework assignment and I am almost finished but I am having trouble on one question. Here is is... Write a SELECT statement that returns one column from the Customers table named FullName that joins the LastName and FirstName columns. Format the columns with the last name, a comma, a space, and the first name like this: Doe, John Sort the result set by last name in ascending sequence. Return only the contacts whose last name begins with letters from M to Z. Here is what I have so far... NO USB devices show in windows 8.1 device manager

Whatever I plug into my USB ports will get power and will charge but will not connect to the computer. I have restarted the computer several times, I re-installed the chipset drivers and still even a USB HDD will not show up under the device manager, not even as an unknown device. I believe this happened because I switched android adb to listen on tcpip rather than USB as this is when the USB ports stopped working. I have set it back to USB but that hasn't seemed to correct the issue. It seems to me that ADB has shut off detection of devices through USB and I am out of ideas and can't find anything useful online. I would prefer not to have to reinstall windows unless I really have to but it is looking like that is exactly what I am going to have to do. I am using windows 8.1. Thanks

Scenario Application has multiple parts. Each part is in separate dll and implements interface IFoo All such dlls are present in same directory (plugins) The application can instantiate multiple instances of each part Below is the code snippet for the interfaces, part(export) and the import. The problem I am running into is, the "factories" object is initialized with empty list. However, if I try container.Resolve(typeof(IEnumerable< IFoo )) I do get object with the part. But that doesn't serve my purpose (point 4). Slow Crash with Filter Manager

I have been having sporadic freezes on my machine lately. There is no blue screen or crash screen. All the applications just stop responding and ~5~10 minutes later it will power off. After checking the event log a couple times, I have found that the same event occurs right before each crash. File System Filter 'Avgmfx64' (6.1, ?2011?-?12?-?23T08:08:12.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager. My question is twofold: I can not seem to find any information on what the Filter Manager actually is supposed to do. for curiosities sake, what is it? And more importantly, how do I fix this problem. From the research I have done, I see that similar problems can be caused by out of date drivers, so I have already taken the time to update all of my drivers, run MemTest, and verify the drive integrity.

Having an issue with the "this" modifier...

I have this method in City class. It should create a new city based on the object which the method is applied to: public City newCity(string newCityName, int dX, int dY) { City c=new City(this); //based on a constructor : City(City c){} c.CityName=newCityName; c.NoOfNeighborhoods=1; c.NumOfResidents=0; c.CityCenter.Move(dX,dY); return c; } CityCenter is of type "Point" which has two fields - x,y. the Move method in Point class is ment to change the CityCenter location. It looks like this: public void Move(int dX, int dY) { this.X = x + dX; this.Y = y + dY; } What happens is that the new object,c and the existing City object are both changed. I think that "this" modifier works on the existing object too... How can I take advantage of the Move method without causing this behavior? Note: this is a closed API, so I can only add private methods to the project.

Manage the scrolling of just one element in a ScrollView

So, I have a ScrollView which has cards on it. ScrollView must be paging enabled. The goal is that the user must be able to scroll it, even if it has only one card. Since i am having the frame of ScrollView of exactly the same width and height as a picture of a card, i decided to increase the width of a ScrollView.contentSize and add one point to it. It turns out to be working fine, but it glitches a bit - when i drag the card to the left, and then grab it again it moves to right a little bit (i guess, for the value of that one point). If i increase the contentSize, the shift increases too (for example, if the content size is increased by ten, the shift value is ten points too). It really irritates me a lot and I want to get rid of it. Any advice on how to do that? Help is much appreciated. UPD: I tried to manually re-center the card in the scrollViewDidEndDecelerating but that didn't help. My guess for now is that the problem can be solved by setting the content offset to the right value (because now it's (0,0)), but I can't figure out how to do it.

Hi, Is it possible to mutate an object into an instance of a derived class of the initial's object class? If this isn't possible, how should I do otherwise? My problem is the following: My Base class is like a "summary", and the Derived class is the "whole thing". Of course getting the "whole thing" is a bit expensive so working on summaries as long as it is possible is the point of having these two classes. But you should be able to get it if you want, and then there's no point in having the summary anymore, so every reference to the summary should now be (or contain, at least) the whole thing. boot as superuser (root) in ubuntu 12.04 server

I try to realize a multisensor system (without Display or keyboard) which needs sudo rights directly after bootup (Ubuntu 12.04 server for ARM). Therefore, I would like to automatically login as root. (just turn on the power and the system will boot without any password request etc) I know that this isn't recommended but some USB issues forcing me to use root rights. I'm perfectly aware of what I'm doing so please don't tell me not to do it. I looked up the web but could find a solution... It would be great to get your help. Thank you.
