  • Fault exception trashes a register causing a crash in [NSInvocation invoke]

    - by Mike Weller
I have an NSOperation which fetches some objects from a core data persistent store and sums up a few totals. Sometimes an object is deleted while the operation in in progress, so a core data fault exception occurs. I try/catch the exception while summing to ignore it because I just want to skip objects that cannot be faulted in. However, when one of these fault exceptions occurs (and I swallow it) there is a crash after the invocation returns in [NSInvocation invoke]. It's a bad memory access when dereferencing the value in r10 which according to GDB on a successful run points to one of these: (gdb) x 0x38388348 0x38388348 <OBJC_IVAR_$_NSInvocation._retdata>: 0x00000008 If a fault exception occured a value of 0x02 is in the register which causes the crash. A quick google search tells me that r10 should be saved by the callee, meaning it is not being restored by whatever code is changing it when this exception occurs. Can anybody explain this? I'm not an expert when it comes to these kinds of low-level details

  • Import data from an SSRS report via SSIS package

    - by Chris
First, I ask that you not ask 'why.' In the famous words of Tennyson "Ours is not to reason why. Ours is but to do and die." It's one of those, "This is what you have, deal with it." situations. The source data comes from SSRS report. The goal is to load the data into a database via SSIS. The hopeful goal is to avoid human intervention in having to download the SSRS report into Excel or CSV. There will be complex SSIS processing from there on out. Any suggestions are humbly appreciated.

  • is there any Simple opensource live audio streaming Server using WCF? (see specification below)

    - by Ole Jak
is there any Simple opensource live audio streaming Server using WCF? I need it to have simple structure: it should listen to some url format like http://example.com/service/stream?write&id=ANY_STRING and if any data comes to such address format it'll start making it avaliable by something like this http://example.com/service/stream?read&id=ANY_STRING Main thing here to be able to stream live data thru WCF service not buffering it just sharing stream. So can please any one help me with such idea? I think not only I have seen such problem with WCF alot on different sites so answer will help the WCF comunyty alot. I hope. BTW: I know some people say WCF is not prepared for live streaming over bacikHTTPbinding but hey! We all need it to, and we ask MS alot so some day they'll make it beter and we all want to be prepared for it.

  • Send and receive data trough the power network

    - by luvieere
I'm not interested in a hardware solution, I want to know about software that may "read" modulated signal received trough the power supply - some sort of a low-level driver that would access the power signal in a convenient place and demodulate it. Is there a way to receive signal from the computer's power supply? I'm interested in an API or library that would allow the computer to be seen as a node in a Power Line Communication network and receive data directly through the power cable, without the need for a converter. Is there any active research in this field? Edit: There is software that reads monitors and displays internal component voltages - DC voltage after being converted and filtered by the power supply - now I need is a method of data encoding that would be invariant to conversion and filtering, the original signal embedded in AC being present in some form within the converted DC signal.

  • Write to a binary file?

    - by rick irby
Here is data structure w/ variables: struct Part_record { char id_no[3]; int qoh; string desc; double price: }; --- (Using "cin" to input data) --- Part_record null_part = {" ", 0," ",0.0}; --- --- file.seekg( -(long)sizeof(Part_record), ios::cur); file.write( ( char *)&part, sizeof(Part_record) ); The three variables, qoh, Id_no & price, write out correctly, but the "desc" variable is not right. Do I need to initialize Part_record some other way? It should be 20 characters in length. If you have enough info here, pls share your advice, thanks.

  • HTML, PHP No data in drop down box

    - by Makinitez21
Hey, I am trying to figure out why a website's drop down box will not show any options. The data file for this drop down box comes from a microsoft access .mde file. The file is present and after the last update was working fine. Some changes happened to the site, i.e. text got added along with some photos. Im not saying this was when the drop down box went bad, but when it was discovered these were the only changes made. The data file seems fine as it is worked with everyday. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to begin looking for the bug? For a better idea of what I am talking about, check out the Site http://yogaalliance.org/teacher_search.cfm and try selecting a country. Thank you in advance

  • Can't store Data URI to database without stripping + characters

    - by citizencane
I am trying to grab a reference to images with src's in URI scheme. An example would be the images on google.com/news. if I alert(escape(saveObj.image)); I get something like below: data%3Aimage/jpeg%3Bbase64%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 I pass that from the js file and am using django to get that into a mysql table of type utf8_unicode_ci using modelform.save, but when i examine what's in the database, I see: data:image/jpeg;base64,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 nXF/pZFKuffViGPW5ximQUEz1cNdPNKms6g8TlWBufDcHyxsdLUmqoYqhiWZ1BYtsSe The key difference is that in my database all of the '+' characters from the original have been stripped and replaced with spaces. • mysql_real_escape_string and search data in mySql DB

    - by ryrysz
I have problem with php function : mysql_real_escape_string My test string: @,&!#$%^*()_+' "\/ I add this data to mySql database, like that (in short): $str = mysql_real_escape_string($str); $sql = "INSERT INTO table(company) VALUES('".$str. "')"; In DB is stored as: @,&!#$%^*()_+\' \"\\/ But problem is with find this data by SELECT statement. I want find, company where name is like ' " My SELECT's: SELECT company FROM table WHERE company LIKE '%\' "%'; SELECT company FROM table WHERE company LIKE '%\\' \\"%'; ; not working. This works: SELECT `company` FROM `table` WHERE `company` LIKE '%\\\' \\\\"%'; and SELECT `company` FROM `table` WHERE `company` LIKE '%\\\\\\\' \\\\\\\"%' But I dont know why this work :(. My questions are: why must add so many slashes ? how I can make correct query in PHP: $query = '\' "'; '%'.mysql_real_escape_string($query).'%' result is : '%\' \"%' '%'.mysql_real_escape_string(mysql_real_escape_string($query)).'%' result is : '%\\\' \\\"%' '%'.mysql_real_escape_string(mysql_real_escape_string(mysql_real_escape_string($query))).'%' result is : '%\\\\\\\' \\\\\\\"%' Only last one works good.

  • innerHTML yielding undefined, but correct data is visible

    - by Mike Dyer
var Model, node; document.getElementById('sedans').innerHTML=''; var thismodelabbr, prevmodelabbr; for(var j=0; j<xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName('data').length; j++){ node = xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName('data')[j]; thismodelabbr=node.getAttribute('model'); if(prevmodelabbr!=thismodelabbr){ Model+='<a href="">'+ node.getAttribute('model')+'</a>'; } prevmodelabbr=thismodelabbr; document.getElementById('sedans').innerHTML=Model; } The above javascript snippet is working correctly and as needed, but I'm getting an "Undefined" response before the entry is displayed within its respective page. I'm assuming it has to do with the .innerHTML call. Any insight would be deeply appreciated.

  • MVC - Sanitizing data, where?

    - by dierre
I'm using CakePHP but it's a question about the MVC pattern. I have in my form the input-text for the tags (separated by commas). To add the tags I've created a Tag model method that basically check if the tag exists and then add the new tag or just a new unit in the tag counter (the Tag model has these fields: id, name, slug, count). In the controller I explode the tags field and pass one tag at a time. The question is: where do I sanitize data? In the controller or in the model method? I think it should be in the controller because that's where I explode but in term of reusability I think I should sanitize data in the model. What do you think?

  • Streaming data to the browser as a file of unknown size

    - by Sir Psycho
I have some data which is queried from the database and I'd like to send it to the client as a csv file. The file size varies each time due to the fact that the DB data returned can be of any size. Instead of saving this file to the hard disk, I'd like to send it to the browser at the same time it's being processed into a CSV by my algorithm. Response.Write seems useless. For some reason, the file download dialog is only displayed once my processing is finished. This seems odd as I'm writting all my output to the Response.Output stream. I have downloaded files on the web before where the filesize is not known and the browser just keeps on downloading. Is there any way to achieve this? The following stackoverflow thread did not offer any good advise. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/873995/asp-net-downloading-large-files-of-unknown-size Thanks

  • PHP => Alternative to session data?

    - by Armz
i have a Web Application where Cookies and Session are both important. Since the Web Application is load balanced on different server, i am looking for suggestions to Alternative Store for the Session data that all server will be able to access. Some sessions could live up to severals days. The solutions that come to my mind: - Native PHP Sessions (this is the one i want to stop using) - MySQL Database - Serialize and write to a file (i want to avoid this, for performances) - Memcache (however it could become very big or older data getting knocked out) Thanks in advance!

  • Handling of data truncation (short reads/writes) in FUSE

    - by Vi
I expect any good program should do all their reads and writes in a loop until all data written/read without relying that write will write everything (even with regular files). Am I right? Implemented simple FUSE filesystem which only allows reading and writing with small buffers, very often returning that it is written less bytes that in a buffer (using -o direct_io). Some programs work, some not (notably mountlo). Are them buggy or programs should not expect truncated writes and reads from the regular files? In general, are seekable file descriptors expected to truncate data like sockets and pipes?

  • Alternative to jQuery .data()?

    - by thebossman
I'm a big fan of jQuery's .data() method, but I can't always use it. Often times I am rendering html templates that I pass via AJAX and I need to attach metadata to each of the elements in the template. For example: <ul> {% for item in itemlist %} <li metadata="{{ item.metadata }}">{{ item.name }}</li> {% endfor %} </ul> I know attaching attributes to store data is bad practice (and it might not even work in older versions of IE). What is the best practice? Is there a good alternative to this method?

  • Ajax, not sending querystring data

    - by Tom Gullen
var http = false; // Creates xmlhttp object if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") { http = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } else { http = new XMLHttpRequest(); } http.onreadystatechange = function() { if (http.readyState == 4) { alert(http.responseText); } } // Functions to calculate optimum layout etc. function compute() { var statusSpan = document.getElementById("cwStatus"); document.getElementById("fader").style.display = ""; document.getElementById("computingWait").style.display = ""; statusSpan.innerHTML = "<b>Status:</b> Realigning sattelites" http.open("GET", "alg.aspx?cr=8&cc=7&sq=3,3", true); http.send(null); } This code sort of works, but the querystring data isn't being passed through. It keeps returning an ASPX error page which only happens when there is no querystring data. Thanks for any help

  • Reload AJAX data every X minutes/seconds, jQuery

    - by NightMICU
Hi everyone, I programmed a CMS that has a log of who has recently logged into the system. Presently, this data is fed into a jQuery UI tab via Ajax. I would like to put this information into a sidebar on the main page and load it via AJAX every 30 seconds (or some set period of time). How would I go about doing this? Does the PHP response need to be JSON coded? I am fairly new to AJAX and JSON data. Here is the PHP I am currently using to pull details from the users table- <?php $loginLog = $db->query("SELECT name_f, name_l, DATE_FORMAT(lastLogin, '%a, %b %D, %Y %h:%i %p') AS lastLogin FROM user_control ORDER BY lastLogin ASC LIMIT 10"); while ($recentLogin = $loginLog->fetch()) { echo $recentLogin['name_f'] . " " . $recentLogin['name_l'] . " - " . $recentLogin['lastLogin']; } ?> Thanks!

  • Processing XML file with Huge data

    - by Manish Dhanotiya
Hi,be m I am working on an application which has below requiements - 1. Download a ZIP file from a server. 2. Uncompress the ZIP file, get the content (which is in XML format) from this file into a String. 3. Pass this content into another method for parsing and further processing. Now, my concerns here is the XML file may be of Huge size say like '100MB', and my JVM has memory of only 512 MB, so how can I get this content into Chunks and pass for Parsing and then insert the data into PL/SQL tables. Since there can be multiple requests running at the same time and considering 512MB of memory what will be the best possible to process this. How I can get the data into Chunks and pass it as Stream for XML parsing. I googled on this, but didnt find any implementation. :( Thanks,

  • How should I capture clickstream data?

    - by editor
I'd like to start using clickstream analysis to improve a dynamic site's user experience. I'd like to rule out two options: parameterizing URLs (index.php?src=http://www.example.com) and immediate database logging. The former makes pretty ugly URLs and isn't great for SEO and the latter might slow down page render when there are lots of concurrent users. Assuming these aren't viable options, I think I'm left with doing an asynchronous POST to a server side script that runs a database query and returns a 204 (no data) response. Is this the best option for capturing clickstream data?

  • Books on data-intensive enterprise integration patterns

    - by Tristan
I'm trying to understand design patterns used by data-intensive enterprise applications. A classic example is the financial industry, where system must consume, analyze, and execute on real-time financial data while providing information and configuration options to a broad set of traders and analysts. One can imagine similar system in airlines, major supply chain operations, and utility providers. Are there good books that provide and inside view of how these systems work? Enterprise Integration Patterns is one example, but I'm looking for something with more real-world applications, particularly in finance.
