  • Is the view history in Firefox 3.6.3 broken or is there an "undocumented feature"?

    - by Lirik
Firefox View History Before Firefox 3.6.3 when I clicked Ctrl+H it would display my browsing history and I would be able to search it, sort it by Most Visited, Last Visited, etc. Since 3.6.3 I have been having issues: Firefox does not display any entries when filtering by Most Visited or Last Visited. Searching does not work regardless of what keyword I use (i.e. if I type stackoverflow it won't even find it, although it's one of the most visited web sites in my history). Is anybody experiencing similar problems? Are there any known issues that might be causing the problems that I'm seeing?

  • My IIS server won't serve SSL sites to some browsers

    - by sbleon
(Update: This is now cross-posted at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3355000. This is the more appropriate forum, but StackOverflow gets a lot more traffic.) I've got an IIS 6.0 server that won't serve pages over SSL to some browsers. In Webkit-based browsers on OS X 10.6, I can't load pages at all. In MSIE 8 on Windows XP SP3, I can load pages, but it will sometimes hang downloading images or sending POSTs. Working: Firefox 3.6 (OS X + Windows) Chrome (Windows) Partially Working: MSIE 8 (works sometimes, but hangs up, especially on POSTs) Not Working: Chrome 5 (OS X) Safari 5 (OS X) Mobile Safari (iOS 4) On OS X (the easiest platform for me to test on), Chrome and Firefox both negotiate the same TLS Cipher, but Chrome hangs on or after the post-negotiation handshake. • Handling multiple sessions for same user credentials and avoiding new browser window opening in my w

    - by Kabeer
Hello. I want to handle following scenarios in my new web application. If multiple users log into the application with same credentials, the application should deny access. Since I have out of process session store, I would be able to make out when this situation happens. So I can deny all requests after first successful attempt. This will however not work if the user instead of logging out of the application, closes the browser. The session will continue to reflect in the store for the period of timeout value. If a user attempts to open a new browser windows (Ctrl+N), the application should defeat this attempt. Every new page can potentially fiddle with cookies. I want to therefore deny the users the ability to open new window.

  • IE8 AJAX GET setRequestHeaders not working unless params provided in URL

    - by bobthabuilda
I'm trying to create an AJAX request in IE8. var xhr = new ActiveXObject( 'Msxml2.XMLHTTP' ); xhr.open( 'GET', '/ajax/' ); // Required header for Django to detect AJAX request xhr.setRequestHeader( 'X-Requested-With', 'XMLHttpRequest' ); xhr.onreadystatechange = function() { if ( this.readyState == 4 ) console.log(this.responseText); } xhr.send( null ); This works perfectly fine in Firefox, Chrome, Safari. In IE8 however, all of my AJAX test requests work EXCEPT for ones where I'm performing GETs without any query string params (such as the one above). POSTs work without question, and GET requests only work whenever I include query strings in the URL, like this: xhr.open( 'GET', '/ajax/?foo=bar' ) I'm also 110% positive that my server code is handling these requests appropriately, so, this stumps me completely. Does anyone have any clue as to what might be causing this?

  • Lightbox image / link URL

    - by GSTAR
Basically I have a slightly non-standard implementation of FancyBox. By default you have to include a link to the large version of the image so that the Lightbox can display it. However, in my implementation, the image link URLs point to a script rather than directly to the image file. So for example, instead of: <a href="mysite/images/myimage.jpg" rel="gallery"> I have: <a href="mysite/photos/view/abc123" rel="gallery"> The above URL points to a function: public function actionPhotos($view) { $photo=Photo::model()->find('name=:name', array(':name'=>$view)); if(!empty($photo)) { $this->renderPartial('_photo', array('photo'=>$photo, true)); } } The "$this-renderPartial()" bit simply calls a layout file which includes a standard HTML tag to output. Now when the user clicks on a thumbnail, the above function is called and the large image is displayed in the Lightbox. Now if the user right clicks on the thumbnail and selects "open in new tab/window" then the image is displayed in the browser as per normal, i.e. just the image. I want to change this so that it displays the image within a layout. In the above code I can include the following and put it in an IF statement: $this->render('photos', array('photo'=>$photo)); This will call the layout file "photos" which contains the layout to display the image in. I have a specific limitation for this - the image URL must remain the same, i.e. no additional GET variables in the URL. However if we can pass in a GET variable in the background then that is OK. I will most likely need to change my function above so that it calls a different file for this functionality. EDIT: To demonstrate exactly what I am trying to do, check out the following: http://www.starnow.co.uk/KimberleyMarren Go to the photos tab and hover over a thumbnail - note the URL. Click the thumbnail and it will open up in the Lightbox. Next right click on that same thumbnail and select "open in new tab/new window". You will notice that the image is now displayed in a layout. So that same URL is used for displaying the image in the Lightbox and on its own page. The way StarNow have done this is using some crazy long JavaScript functionality, which I'm not too keen on replicating.

  • fsutil hardlink doesn't work?

    - by Alix Axel
I was looking for a way to create hard links under Windows and I found this page: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc788097.aspx To try it out, I created a file (1.txt) on the root of my C: drive with 100 lines of the following content: C:\1.txt (2.598 bytes): test test test test test Then I open the command prompt and type: fsutil hardlink create C:\2.txt C:\1.txt Success, 2.txt was created but when I go to see it's size it has exactly 2.598 bytes and also noticed some strange behaviours (as far as my understanding of hard links goes): If I delete 2.txt (the hard linked file) 1.txt is not deleted, and vice-versa. If I open 2.txt after I delete 1.txt (the original file) the content is still the same. How does the fsutil hardlink create command differs from the copy command? And how can I create a true hard link under Windows? I'm using Windows XP SP 3, and my file system is NTFS.

  • How to play sound in Python WITHOUT interrupting music/other sounds from playing

    - by Morlock
I'm working on a timer in python which sounds a chime when the waiting time is over. I use the following code: from wave import open as wave_open from ossaudiodev import open as oss_open def _play_chime(): """ Play a sound file once. """ sound_file = wave_open('chime.wav','rb') (nc,sw,fr,nf,comptype, compname) = sound_file.getparams( ) dsp = oss_open('/dev/dsp','w') try: from ossaudiodev import AFMT_S16_NE except ImportError: if byteorder == "little": AFMT_S16_NE = ossaudiodev.AFMT_S16_LE else: AFMT_S16_NE = ossaudiodev.AFMT_S16_BE dsp.setparameters(AFMT_S16_NE, nc, fr) data = sound_file.readframes(nf) sound_file.close() dsp.write(data) dsp.close() It works pretty good, unless any other device is already outputing sound. How could I do basically the same (under linux) without having the prerequisite that no sound is being played? If you think the process would require an API to ensure software mixing, please suggest a method :) Thx for the support

  • Trapping errors in TClientDataSet.CommandText

    - by Rob McDonell
I have a TClientDataSet connected to a TDataSetProvider, which in turn is connected to a TAdsTable. I set the SQL command and then open the ClientDataset something like this: try CDS.CommandText := 'SELECT * FROM tablename WHERE fieldname = 1'; CDS.Open except // trap exception here - this never gets executed! end; If the SQL statement in CommandText fails, however (syntax error or whatever) I get an exception within the Advantage code, but it never gets caught in my own exception handling code. Is there any way for me to trap this error and report it nicely to the user. Alternatively is there a way to verify the syntax of an SQL query before executing it? I'm using Delphi Pro 2009, and Advantage Local Server 9.

  • XML url link in Flash

    - by Vickyboy
Hi, I am new to XML and am having a small problem in Flash. I have a number of buttons. Each of these buttons need to open up a different URL which is in a xml file (I have added only one button for now (banstead), as I wasn´t sure how to add more). My XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <banstead targ="_self" href="http://www.marca.com"> </banstead> My AS: weblinkXML = new XML(); weblinkXML.ignoreWhite = true; weblinkXML.load("xml/counties.xml"); weblinkXML.onLoad = function (success) { var url = weblinkXML.firstChild.attributes.href; banstead.onRelease = function () { getURL(weblinkXML.url); } } For some reason when I test the movie and click on the button it doesn´t open the URL I requested. Appreciate any help

  • Make Chrome's Omnibar behave more like the Firefox AwesomeBar

    - by Agnel Kurian
One of my favorite features of the Firefox AwesomeBar is that I can simply type a substring of any URL or page title in my history and it finds all matches sorted by how frequently they were accessed. Example: I simply type "ask" when I want to ask something on stackoverflow.com., "inbox" goes to my GMail Inbox and so on because the substring matches any part of the URL or the page title. Chrome's Omnibar is quite frustrating in this area. I am not able to predict what it's gonna fetch and I seem to have no way to train the thing to do my bidding. I have unchecked the option that says: "Use a suggestion service to help complete searches and URLs typed..." but there has been no noticeable improvement. Any clues how I can make the Omnibar behave?

  • Spry Collapsible Panel within Collapsible Panel, inconsistent errors.

    - by Robin I Knight
Hello everyone it is me again with another question. The booking system located here http://www.divethegap.com/scuba-diving-programmes-dive-the-gap/divemaster-training.php?cat=16 There are 3 main collapsible panels controlled by the spry framework. There are then over a dozen more inside the first collapsible panel as you can see on that page. When you open one of those by pressing one of the 'learn more' buttons you will see that the main collapsible panel that it is in also expands to fit that content and the contracts if you close the smaller panel again. However as soon as you go to the next main collapsible panel 'summery and quote' and then go back to the first main panel by pressing the button that says 'back' there are problems. Now if you open up one of the smaller panels inside the first main panel you will see that the main panel does not expand to fit the contents and in fact the content of the smaller panels spreads over the other content, floating above it. Does anybody know how to fix this? Many Thanks,

  • Fonts in Google Chrome messed up

    - by user1850463
I recently installed new fonts on my computer that my friend sent me so I can use them in Adobe Photoshop. When I downloaded the ".zip" folder containing the fonts I unzipped the folder, pressed Ctrl+A to highlight all of the font files and then I right clicked and clicked "Install". That is how I installed the fonts. Now the fonts in Google Chrome are messed up. When I go on websites such as Stackoverflow, Facebook, etc. the fonts are different and look really odd. Random parts of text are bolded or italized, etc. I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome and Windows 8 Pro. I took 3 screenshots to show you what I mean.

Is there some hook I can use to disable that warning? Can you provide sample elisp code and explanation on how you found the proper hook?

  • How to fix weird scrolling/alignment behavior when using keyboard in MenuStrip?

    - by bentsai
I started noticing strange behavior when navigating the main toolbar of my Winforms application, and I don't know how to fix it. When I initially open the dropdown of the File menu, it looks like this: I begin to scroll down each item with the arrow keys, and everything is fine until I reach "Exit". As soon as I hit the down arrow key from "Log Off", or if I hit the up arrow key from "Open", the menu rearranges itself to look like this: I'm puzzled by this behavior. The menu still works, and from this point, if I start scrolling up, I can get the arrangement back to normal: A few observations: The menu still works. This doesn't happen when using the mouse. I have some code that toggles the Visible property of some of the menu items. I was able to modify what the arrangement was by playing around with this, but it was still messed up. Can anyone help me understand what is going on, and how to fix it?

  • Release another user's lock obtained with sp_getapplock on SQL Server

    - by joshperry
We have a system that uses sp_getapplock to create an exclusive mutex any time someone opens an order in the GUI. This is used to prevent multiple people from making changes to an order simultaneously. Sometimes people will open an order and go home, leaving it open. This effectively blocks anyone from being able to make changes to the order. I then get emails, calls and end up doing a kill <spid> in enterprise manager. Obviously I've gotten sick of this and want to make a quick self-service webform. The main problem I've run into is that kill requires sysadmin privileges, which I do not want to give to the user that the our website runs as. I have tried sp_releaseapplock but this doesn't let you release another user's lock (even when calling it as a sysadmin). So, finally my question; does anyone know of an alternative method to release a lock that was obtained by another user using sp_getapplock?

    Hello, so far I made a component in C# .NET 4 and use System.EnterpriseServices to make it COM visible. I want to develop business methods in C#, but I still need to access them from classic ASP (vbscript). So far so good, everything works fine (exept function overloading :)). Now I made a test class to get more expirience with return code. using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.EnterpriseServices; using System.Management; namespace iController { /// /// The tools class provides additional functions for general use in out of context to other classes of the iController. /// public class tools :ServicedComponent { #region publich methods public bool TestBoolean() { return true; } public string TestString() { return "this is a string"; } public int TestInteger() { return 32; } public double TestDouble() { return 32.32; } public float TestFloat() { float ret = 2 ^ 16; return ret; } public string[] TestArray() { string[] ret = {"0","1"}; return ret; } public int[][] TestJaggedArray() { int[][] jaggedArray = new int[3][]; jaggedArray[0] = new int[] { 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 }; jaggedArray[1] = new int[] { 0, 2, 4, 6 }; jaggedArray[2] = new int[] { 11, 22 }; return jaggedArray; } public Dictionary<string, string> TestDictionary() { Dictionary<string, string> ret = new Dictionary<string,string>(); ret.Add("test1","val1"); ret.Add("test2","val2"); return ret; } #endregion } } Then I just made a simple vbscript file to run it with cscript.exe for testing porpuse. Dim oTools : Set oTools = CreateObject("iController.tools") WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(oTools.TestBoolean()) & " - " & oTools.TestBoolean() WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(oTools.TestString()) & " - " & oTools.TestString() WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(oTools.TestInteger()) & " - " & oTools.TestInteger() WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(oTools.TestDouble()) & " - " & oTools.TestDouble() WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(oTools.TestFloat()) & " - " & oTools.TestFloat() test = oTools.TestArray() WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(test) WScript.StdOut.WriteLine UBound(test) For i = 0 To UBound(test) WScript.StdOut.WriteLine test(i) Next For Each item IN test WScript.StdOut.WriteLine item Next test = oTools.TestJaggedArray() WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(test) For Each item IN test WScript.StdOut.WriteLine test & " - " & test.Item(item) Next test = oTools.TestDictionary() WScript.StdOut.WriteLine TypeName(test) For Each item IN test WScript.StdOut.WriteLine test & " - " & test.Item(item) Next What works fine: string, int, foat, double When it comes to array, jaggedarray or dictionaries I get a type mismatch. VarType is 13 object for the dictionary e.g. but this dict seems to be different then the Scripting.Dictionary. I checked codeproject.com and stackoverflow all day and didn't find any hints exept some thread on stackoverflow where someone mentioned there is a need to created a IDispatch interface. So anyone ever had the same issue and can help me or give me some hints I can go on with?

  • Need PHP script to decompress and loop through zipped file.

    - by Jim H.
I am using a fairly straight-forward script to open and parse several xml files that are gzipped. I also need to do the same basic operation with a ZIP file. It seems like it should be simple, but I haven't been able to find what looked like equivalent code anywhere. Here is the simple version of what I am already doing: $import_file = "source.gz"; $sfp = gzopen($import_file, "rb"); ///// OPEN GZIPPED data while ($string = gzread($sfp, 4096)) { //Loop through the data /// Parse Output And Do Stuff with $string } gzclose($sfp); What would do the same thing for a zipped file?

  • SSIS For Each File Loop and File System Task to copy Files

    - by Marlon
I'm using a files system task inside a for each loop container, just as described here: link text However, when I execute the package I get this error: [File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "The process cannot access the file 'C:\Book1.xlsx' because it is being used by another process.". I do not have the file open, and I assume no one else does, as I am able to copy, and open, and overwrite the file. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you want an example package plz let me know.

  • File Uploads with Turbogears 2

    - by William Chambers
I've been trying to work out the 'best practices' way to manage file uploads with Turbogears 2 and have thus far not really found any examples. I've figured out a way to actually upload the file, but I'm not sure how reliable it us. Also, what would be a good way to get the uploaded files name? file = request.POST['file'] permanent_file = open(os.path.join(asset_dirname, file.filename.lstrip(os.sep)), 'w') shutil.copyfileobj(file.file, permanent_file) file.file.close() this_file = self.request.params["file"].filename permanent_file.close() So assuming I'm understanding correctly, would something like this avoid the core 'naming' problem? id = UUID. file = request.POST['file'] permanent_file = open(os.path.join(asset_dirname, id.lstrip(os.sep)), 'w') shutil.copyfileobj(file.file, permanent_file) file.file.close() this_file = file.filename permanent_file.close()

  • IE8 Crashes Strangely on JavaScript Popup

    - by dkris

But on adding the alertbox as show in the JavaScript code, the popup works fine. I am using **https** and not **http** and i feel popup is not able to load the JS file because of SSL. Here is the how i am generating the onclick event: <a id="forgotPasswordLink" href="#" onclick="openSupportPage();"> Some Text </a> The onclick function is defined this way: function openSupportPage() { var features = "width=700,height=400,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,scrollbars=yes"; var winId = window.open('', '', features); winId.focus(); winId.document.open(); winId.document.write('<html><head><title>' + document.title + '</title><link rel="stylesheet" href="./css/default.css" type="text/css">\n'); var is_ie6 = ( window.external && typeof window.XMLHttpRequest == "undefined"); alert(is_ie6);/*The JS include below*/ /*works in popup only with this alert box.*/ /*else IE8 Hangs*/ winId.document.write('<script src="../js/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js" type="text/javascript">Script_IE8</script>\n'); winId.document.write('<script type="text/javascript">\n'); winId.document.write('function inittextarea() {\n'); winId.document.write('tinyMCE.init({ \n'); winId.document.write('elements : "content",\n'); winId.document.write('theme : "advanced",\n'); winId.document.write('readonly : true,\n'); winId.document.write('mode : "exact",\n'); winId.document.write('theme : "advanced",\n'); winId.document.write('readonly : true,\n'); winId.document.write('setup : function(ed) {\n'); winId.document.write('ed.onInit.add(function() {\n'); winId.document.write('tinyMCE.activeEditor.execCommand("mceToggleVisualAid");\n'); winId.document.write('});\n'); winId.document.write('}\n'); winId.document.write('});}</script>\n'); winId.document.write('</head><body onload="inittextarea()">\n'); winId.document.write(' \n'); var hiddenFrameHTML = document.getElementById("HiddenFrame").innerHTML; hiddenFrameHTML = hiddenFrameHTML.replace(/&amp;/gi, "&"); hiddenFrameHTML = hiddenFrameHTML.replace(/&lt;/gi, "<"); hiddenFrameHTML = hiddenFrameHTML.replace(/&gt;/gi, ">"); winId.document.write(hiddenFrameHTML); winId.document.write('<textarea id="content" rows="10" style="width:100%">\n'); winId.document.write(document.getElementById(top.document.forms[0].id + ":supportStuff").innerHTML); winId.document.write('</textArea>\n'); var hiddenFrameHTML2 = document.getElementById("HiddenFrame2").innerHTML; hiddenFrameHTML2 = hiddenFrameHTML2.replace(/&amp;/gi, "&"); hiddenFrameHTML2 = hiddenFrameHTML2.replace(/&lt;/gi, "<"); hiddenFrameHTML2 = hiddenFrameHTML2.replace(/&gt;/gi, ">"); winId.document.write(hiddenFrameHTML2); winId.document.write('</body></html>\n'); winId.document.close(); } Please help me on this one.     - by Jason M

Once I have logged in I can see the website fine. My problem is that every time I open a new IE browser I have to re-enter my username and password. I have heard about thew double hop issue, is this what it could be. If so how many ip fix this. Any ideas how i can stop this box showing up each time? I have ticked the "remember my username/password" tick box but still no joy. I am using Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0 and .NET 4.0. Thanks JM
