  • Better way of looping to detect change.

    - by Dremation
    As of now I'm using a while(true) method to detect changes in memory. The problem with this is it's kill the applications performance. I have a list of 30 pointers that need checked as rapidly as possible for changes, without sacrificing a huge performance loss. Anyone have ideas on this? memScan = new Thread(ScanMem); public static void ScanMem() { int i = addy.Length; while (true) { Thread.Sleep(30000); //I do this to cut down on cpu usage for (int j = 0; j < i; j++) { string[] values = addy[j].Split(new char[] { Convert.ToChar(",") }); //MessageBox.Show(values[2]); try { if (Memory.Scanner.getIntFromMem(hwnd, (IntPtr)Convert.ToInt32(values[0], 16), 32).ToString() != values[1].ToString()) { //Ok, it changed lets do our work //work if (Globals.Working) return; SomeFunction("Results: " + values[2].ToString(), "Memory"); Globals.Working = true; }//end if }//end try catch { } }//end for }//end while }//end void

  • Dynamic checkboxlist

    - by Steve
    Hi, I am currently building a dynamic url tab system that user can say what urls they want to be displayed on a tabpage control. In the database i have the following columns. userID, int URLName var Enabled bit I am pulling the data back ok but what i am trying do is populate a checkbox list with the urlname and its status on a user options page so they can say what tabs they want displayed. I have wrote the following methods to get the urls and create the checkboxes however i keep getting the following error. ex = {"InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'index'.\r\nParameter name: index"} It reads the first row ok but when it hits the 2nd row that is being returned i get that error. Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks private void GetUserURLS() { db.initiateCommand("[Settings].[LoadAllUserURLS]", CommandType.StoredProcedure); sqlp = db.addParameter("@UserID", _UserID, SqlDbType.Int, ParameterDirection.Input); sqlp = db.addParameter("@spErrorID", DBNull.Value, SqlDbType.Int, ParameterDirection.InputOutput); db.executeCommand(); CreateCheckBoxes(db.getTable(0).Rows); db.releaseCommand(); } private void CreateCheckBoxes(DataRowCollection rows) { try { int i = 0; foreach (DataRow row in rows) { //Gets the url name and path when the status is enabled. The status of Enabled / Disabled is setup in the users option page string URLName = row["URLName"].ToString(); bool enabled = Convert.ToBoolean(row["Enabled"]); CheckedListBox CB = new CheckedListBox(); CB.Items.Insert(i, URLName); CB.Tag = "CB" + i.ToString(); checkedListBox1.Items.Add(CB); i++; } } catch (Exception ex) { //Log error Functionality func = new Functionality(); func.LogError(ex); //Error message the user will see string FriendlyError = "There has been populating checkboxes with the urls - A notification has been sent to development"; Classes.ShowMessageBox.MsgBox(FriendlyError, "There has been an Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error); } }

  • Reducing Time Complexity in Java

    - by Koeneuze
    Right, this is from an older exam which i'm using to prepare my own exam in january. We are given the following method: public static void Oorspronkelijk() { String bs = "Dit is een boodschap aan de wereld"; int max = -1; char let = '*'; for (int i=0;i<bs.length();i++) { int tel = 1; for (int j=i+1;j<bs.length();j++) { if (bs.charAt(j) == bs.charAt(i)) tel++; } if (tel > max) { max = tel; let = bs.charAt(i); } } System.out.println(max + " keer " + let); } The questions are: what is the output? - Since the code is just an algorithm to determine the most occuring character, the output is "6 keer " (6 times space) What is the time complexity of this code? Fairly sure it's O(n²), unless someone thinks otherwise? Can you reduce the time complexity, and if so, how? Well, you can. I've received some help already and managed to get the following code: public static void Nieuw() { String bs = "Dit is een boodschap aan de wereld"; HashMap<Character, Integer> letters = new HashMap<Character, Integer>(); char max = bs.charAt(0); for (int i=0;i<bs.length();i++) { char let = bs.charAt(i); if(!letters.containsKey(let)) { letters.put(let,0); } int tel = letters.get(let)+1; letters.put(let,tel); if(letters.get(max)<tel) { max = let; } } System.out.println(letters.get(max) + " keer " + max); } However, I'm uncertain of the time complexity of this new code: Is it O(n) because you only use one for-loop, or does the fact we require the use of the HashMap's get methods make it O(n log n) ? And if someone knows an even better way of reducing the time complexity, please do tell! :)

  • A monkey could do this better - Access to and availability of private member functions in C++

    - by David
    I am wandering the desert of my brain. I'm trying to write something like the following: class MyClass { // Peripherally Related Stuff public: void TakeAnAction(int oneThing, int anotherThing) { switch(oneThing){ case THING_A: TakeThisActionWith(anotherThing); break; //cases THINGS_NOT_A: }; private: void TakeThisActionWith(int thing) { string outcome = new string; outcome = LookUpOutcome(thing); // Do some stuff based on outcome return; } string LookUpOutcome(int key) { string oc = new string; oc = MyPrivateMap[key]; return oc; } map<int, string> MyPrivateMap; Then in the .cc file where I am actually using these things, while compiling the TakeAnAction section, it [CC, the solaris compiler] throws an an error: 'The function LookUpOutcome must have a prototype' and bombs out. In my header file, I have declared 'string LookUpOutcome(int key);' in the private section of the class. I have tried all sorts of variations. I tried to use 'this' for a little while, and it gave me 'Can only use this in non-static member function.' Sadly, I haven't declared anything static and these are all, putatively, member functions. I tried it [on TakeAnAction and LookUp] when I got the error, but I got something like, 'Can't access MyPrivateMap from LookUp'. MyPrivateMap could be made public and I could refer to it directly, I guess, but my sensibility says that is not the right way to go about this [that means that namespace scoped helper functions are out, I think]. I also guess I could just inline the lookup and subsequent other stuff, but my line-o-meter goes on tilt. I'm trying desperately not to kludge it.

  • C# webservice async callback not getting called on HTTP 407 error.

    - by Ben
    Hi, I am trying to test the use-case of a customer having a proxy with login credentials, trying to use our webservice from our client. If the request is synchronous, my job is easy. Catch the WebException, check for the 407 code, and prompt the user for the login credentials. However, for async requests, I seem to be running into a problem: the callback is never getting called! I ran a wireshark trace and did indeed see that the HTTP 407 error was being passed back, so I am bewildered as to what to do. Here is the code that sets up the callback and starts the request: TravelService.TravelServiceImplService svc = new TravelService.TravelServiceImplService(); svc.Url = svcUrl; svc.CreateEventCompleted += CbkCreateEventCompleted; svc.CreateEventAsync(crReq, req); And the code that was generated when I consumed the WSDL: public void CreateEventAsync(TravelServiceCreateEventRequest CreateEventRequest, object userState) { if ((this.CreateEventOperationCompleted == null)) { this.CreateEventOperationCompleted = new System.Threading.SendOrPostCallback(this.OnCreateEventOperationCompleted); } this.InvokeAsync("CreateEvent", new object[] { CreateEventRequest}, this.CreateEventOperationCompleted, userState); } private void OnCreateEventOperationCompleted(object arg) { if ((this.CreateEventCompleted != null)) { System.Web.Services.Protocols.InvokeCompletedEventArgs invokeArgs = ((System.Web.Services.Protocols.InvokeCompletedEventArgs)(arg)); this.CreateEventCompleted(this, new CreateEventCompletedEventArgs(invokeArgs.Results, invokeArgs.Error, invokeArgs.Cancelled, invokeArgs.UserState)); } } Debugging the WS code, I found that even the SoapHttpClientProtocol.InvokeAsync method was not calling its callback as well. Am I missing some sort of configuration?

  • A linked list with multiple heads in Java

    - by Emile
    Hi, I have a list in which I'd like to keep several head pointers. I've tried to create multiple ListIterators on the same list but this forbid me to add new elements in my list... (see Concurrent Modification exception). I could create my own class but I'd rather use a built-in implementation ;) To be more specific, here is an inefficient implementation of two basic operations and the one wich doesn't work : class MyList <E { private int[] _heads; private List<E _l; public MyList ( int nbHeads ) { _heads = new int[nbHeads]; _l = new LinkedList<E(); } public void add ( E e ) { _l.add(e); } public E next ( int head ) { return _l.get(_heads[head++]); // ugly } } class MyList <E { private Vector<ListIterator<E _iters; private List<E _l; public MyList ( int nbHeads ) { _iters = new Vector<ListIterator<E(nbHeads); _l = new LinkedList<E(); for( ListIterator<E iter : _iters ) iter = _l.listIterator(); } public void add ( E e ) { _l.add(e); } public E next ( int head ) { // ConcurrentModificationException because of the add() return _iters.get(head).next(); } } Emile

  • Spring 3 - Custom Security

    - by Eqbal
    I am in the process of converting a legacy application from proprietary technology to a Spring based web app, leaving the backend system as is. The login service is provided by the backend system through a function call that takes in some parameter (username, password plus some others) and provides an output that includes the authroizations for the user and other properties like firstname, lastname etc. What do I need to do to weave this into Spring 3.0 security module. Looks like I need to provide a custom AuthenticationProvider implementation (is this where I call the backend function?). Do I also need a custom User and UserDetailsService implementation which needs loadUserByName(String userName)? Any pointers on good documentation for this? The reference that came with the download is okay, but doesn't help too much in terms of implementing custom security.

  • Filter of Data in Gridview logical error please using asp.net

    - by RajuBabli Abbasi
    I wanted to filter the Data in asp.net but my Data is not filtering i have some logical error So please help me for this case i will be very thanks full to those who will help me please consider my code and replay me with code if you can so please i am waiting for your replay thanks again my asp.cs file is protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { DisplayStudentInformation(); } } private void DisplayStudentInformation() { string filter = "%" + filterTextBox.Text + "%"; if (filter == String.Empty) filter = "%"; try { using (SqlDataReader reader = DAC.GetCompanyInformation(filter)) {//reader.Read(); StudentGridView.DataSource = reader; StudentGridView.DataBind(); } } catch (SqlException ex) { StatusLabel.Text = ex.Message; } } my .aspx file is asp:Table ID="Tabel" runat ="server" asp:TableRow asp:TableCell asp:Label ID="filterLabel" runat ="server" Text ="Company Name Filter:" AssociatedControlID="filterTextBox" /asp:TableCell asp:TableCell asp:TextBox ID="filterTextBox" runat="server" MaxLength ="50" /asp:TableCell asp:TableCell asp:Button ID="refreshButton" runat ="server" Text ="Filter" CausesValidation="false" / /asp:TableCell /asp:TableRow /asp:Table My DAC file is public static SqlDataReader GetCompanyInformation(string filter) { SqlDataReader reader; string sql = "SELECT * FROM Student WHERE LastName LIKE @prmLastName "; using(SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand (sql,ConnectionManager.GetConnection())) {//In ExecuteReader we pass the CommandBehavior as singleResult because we need the Single result and also passing the close connection when Datais retriev // command.Parameters.Add("@prmLastName", SqlDbType.VarChar, 25).Value = filter; command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@prmLastName", filter); reader = command.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.SingleResult | CommandBehavior.CloseConnection); } return reader; } Note:- When i don't use the If(!Ispostback) Condition and simply pass the DisplayStudentInformation(); method in my page load then Data can be filter but with If(!IspostBack ) condition which is also important for updating the data and for other purpose . Data can be filter . Se aim of the expert is that Filter the Data in a gridview using condition of IF(!IspostBack ) means without the removing is post back condition Filter the Data . I have been ask other about this question but no body solve this so please help me i will be very thanks full to you all ok

  • What are the alternatives to public fields?

    - by James
    I am programming a game in java, and as the question title suggestions i am using public fields in my classes. (for the time being) From what i have seen public fields are bad and i have some understanding why. (but if someone could clarify why you should not use them, that would be appreciated) The thing is that also from what i have seen, (and it seems logical) is that using private fields, but using getters and setters to access them is also not good as it defeats the point of using private fields in the first place. So, my question is, what are the alternatives? or do i really have to use private fields with getters and setters? For reference here is one of my classes, and some of its methods. I will elaborate more if needs be. //The player's fields. public double health; public String name; public double goldCount; public double maxWeight; public double currentWeight; public double maxBackPckSlts; public double usedBackPckSlts; // The current back pack slots in use public double maxHealth; // Maximum amount of health public ArrayList<String> backPack = new ArrayList<String>(); //This method happens when ever the player dynamically takes damage(i.e. when it is not scripted for the player to take damage. //Parameters will be added to make it dynamic so the player can take any spread of damage. public void beDamaged(double damage) { this.health -= damage; if (this.health < 0) { this.health = 0; } } public void gainHealth(double gainedHp) { this.health += gainedHp; if (this.health > this.maxHealth) { this.health = this.maxHealth; } }

  • lambda traits inconsistency across C++0x compilers

    - by Sumant
    I observed some inconsistency between two compilers (g++ 4.5, VS2010 RC) in the way they match lambdas with partial specializations of class templates. I was trying to implement something like boost::function_types for lambdas to extract type traits. Check this for more details. In g++ 4.5, the type of the operator() of a lambda appears to be like that of a free standing function (R (*)(...)) whereas in VS2010 RC, it appears to be like that of a member function (R (C::*)(...)). So the question is are compiler writers free to interpret any way they want? If not, which compiler is correct? See the details below. template <typename T> struct function_traits : function_traits<decltype(&T::operator())> { // This generic template is instantiated on both the compilers as expected. }; template <typename R, typename C> struct function_traits<R (C::*)() const> { // inherits from this one on VS2010 RC typedef R result_type; }; template <typename R> struct function_traits<R (*)()> { // // inherits from this one g++ 4.5 typedef R result_type; }; int main(void) { auto lambda = []{}; function_traits<decltype(lambda)>::result_type *r; // void * } This program compiles on both g++ 4.5 and VS2010 but the function_traits that are instantiated are different as noted in the code.

  • ZipArchive on the iPhone unzips files but they are empty

    I'm trying to use ZipArchive on the iPhone to unzip a simple text file. It returns with no error but the file is empty. I would love to know why this doesn't work. I am using the following methods: -(void)alert:(NSString*)message { UIAlertView *myAlert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"" message:message delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Ok" otherButtonTitles:nil, nil]; [myAlert show]; [myAlert release]; } -(void)unzip { NSString *sourcepath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"secret" ofType:@"zip"]; NSString*filename = @"secret.txt"; NSArray *docPaths =NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory,NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *destinationpath = [docPaths objectAtIndex: 0]; if (filename != nil ) destinationpath = [destinationpath stringByAppendingPathComponent: filename]; ZipArchive* za = [[ZipArchive alloc] init]; if( [za UnzipOpenFile:sourcepath Password:@""] ) { BOOL ret = [za UnzipFileTo:destinationpath overWrite:YES]; if( NO==ret ) [self alert:@"Problem"]; else [self alert:@"Success"]; [za UnzipCloseFile]; } [za release]; NSString *test = [[NSString alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:destinationpath encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding error:nil]; [self alert:test]; }

The compiler does not find Header #include < QtEventTransition This is what i did i never did this bevor but i think it should be correct, I have A Header File where i have my Transitions Declareted like this: class validateBoatTransition : public QtEventTransition { public: validateBoatTransition(Widget *widget,ServerSkeleton* server); protected: bool eventTest(QEvent *e); void onTransition(QEvent *); private: Chart* ourChart; Message current; BarelySocket* myBarelySocket; }; Than i have my Cpp File where i have this: validateBoatTransition::validateBoatTransition(Widget *widget,ServerSkeleton* server) { } void validateBoatTransition::onTransition(QEvent *e) { /* My Logik should go here */ } What i want is that if the Transition is activated by an Button (clicked) it should fire this transition! I searched the net, but cant find an solution. Can i do that? I should i think. Yours Thomas

  • How does CDI injection work in MDBs and @Scheduled beans?

    - by Nils-Petter Nilsen
    I'm working on a large Java EE 6 application that is deployed on JBoss 6 Final. My current tasks involve using @Inject consistently instead of @EJB, but I'm running into some problems on some types of beans, specifically @MessageDriven beans and beans with @Scheduled methods. What happens is that if I'm unlucky with the timing (for @Schedule) or if there are messages in the MDBs' queues at startup, instantiation of the beans will fail because the injected resources (which are EJBs themselves) are not bound yet. Because I use @Inject, I'm guessing that the EJB container considers my beans to be ready, since the container itself does not care about @Inject; it probably simply assumes that since there are no @EJB injections, the beans are ready for use. The injected CDI proxies will then fail because the resources to inject aren't actually bound yet. Tiny example: @Stateless @LocalBean public class MySupportingBean { public void doSomething() { ... } } @Singleton public class MyScheduledBean { @Inject private MySupportingBean supportingBean; @Schedule(second = "*/1", hour = "*", minute = "*", persistent = false) public void onTimeout() { supportingBean.doSomething(); } } The above example will probably not fail often because there are only two beans, but the project I'm working on binds lots of EJBs, which will amplify the problem. But it might fail because there is no guarantee that MySupportingBean is bound first, and if onTimeout is invoked before MySupportingBean is bound, then instantiation of MyScheduledBean will fail. If I used @EJB instead, MyScheduledBean wouldn't be bound until the dependency to MySupportingBean was satisfied. Note that the example will not fail in onTimeout itself, but when CDI attempts to inject MySupportingBean. I've read a lot of posts on different forums where many people argue that @Inject is always better. Generally, I agree, but how do they handle @Schedule or @MessageDriven combined with @Inject? In my experience, it comes down to dumb luck whether the beans will work or not in those cases, and the beans will fail arbitrarily, depending on which order the EJBs are deployed in, and when @Schedule or onMessage are invoked.

  • is it possible to display video information from an rtsp stream in an android app UI

  • java annotations - problem with calling a locator class from a Vaadin Project

    - by George
    Hello, I'm not sure how to explain this without writing several pages so I hope the actual code is more expressive. I've made a jar containing multiple annotation declaration similar to the following: @Target(ElementType.PACKAGE) @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) public @interface MarkedPackage { } then I have made a test jar containing several classes in several packages and marked just one package with the above annotation (with package-info.java) like below: @myPackage.MarkedPackage package package.test.jar; this jar had in its build path the jar containing the annotations. then I made a static class that has a method (LoadPlugins) that retrieves a list with all the jars of a directory. Then it searches through the jars for the 'package-info' class and checks if that classes package contains the MarkedPackage annotation. by calling this: if (checkPackageAnnotation(thisClass.getPackage())) where thisClass is the package-info class retrieved via a classloader. and: public static boolean checkPackageAnnotation(AnnotatedElement elem) { System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); if (elem == null || !elem.isAnnotationPresent(MarkedPackage.class)) return false; return true; } the elem.getAnnotatios().length is there for debug purposes. And the problem appears when I call the method from the static class: if I call it from a main function: public class MyMain { public static void main(String[] args){ PluginUtils.LoadPlugins(); } } everything works perfectly it displays '1' from that System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); But if I call it from a button from my Vaadin project: header.addComponent(new Button("CallThat", new Button.ClickListener() { public void buttonClick(ClickEvent event) { PluginUtils.LoadPlugins(); } })); It displays '0' from that System.out.println(elem.getAnnotations().length); Also I should mention that I created the main inside my Vaadin project so it would have the exact same build path and resources. Is there a problem with web applications and that "@Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME)" ? hope I was clear enough... Hope someone has a solution for me... If you need more information - let me know. Thank you.

The segmentation fault occurs when the MAX_QUEUE is set high but when I set it low (100 or 200), the error doesn't occur. It has been a while since I last programmed in C, so any help is appreciated. #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> #define MAX_QUEUE 1000 struct myInfo { char data[20]; }; struct myInfo* queue; void push(struct myInfo); int queue_head = 0; int queue_size = 0; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { queue = (struct myInfo*) malloc(sizeof(struct myInfo) * MAX_QUEUE); struct myInfo info; char buf[10]; strcpy(buf, "hello"); while (1) { strcpy(info.data, buf); push(info); } } void push(struct myInfo info) { int next_index = sizeof(struct myInfo) * ((queue_size + queue_head) % MAX_QUEUE); printf("Pushing %s to %d\n", info.data, next_index); *(queue + (next_index)) = info; queue_size++; } Output: Pushing hello to 0 Pushing hello to 20 ... Pushing hello to 7540 Pushing hello to 7560 Pushing hello to 7580 Segmentation fault

  • Choice of programming language for learning data structures and algorithms

    - by bguiz
    Which programming language would you recommend to learn about data structures and algorithms in? Considering the follwing: Personal experience Language features (pointers, OO, etc) Suitability for learning DS & A concepts I ask because there are some books out there that are programming language-agnostic (written from a Mathematical perspective, and use pseudocode). If I learn from one of these I would like to work out the algorithms in a chosen language. Then, there are other books which introduce DS & A concepts with examples in a particular programming laguage - and I would follow these examples as well. Either way, I have to choose a language, and I would like to stick to one throughout. Which one best fits the bill.

  • Default Button after dispose and setVisible

    - by DaDaDom
    Hi, given the following code: public class DialogTest implements ActionListener { public static void main(String[] args) {DialogTest g = new DialogTest();} public DialogTest() { JButton b1 = new JButton("Button A"); b1.addActionListener(this); JDialog d = new JDialog(); d.setDefaultCloseOperation(JDialog.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE); JPanel p = new JPanel(); p.add(b1); d.add(p); d.getRootPane().setDefaultButton(b1); d.pack(); d.setVisible(true); d.dispose(); d.pack(); d.setVisible(true); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {System.out.println("hello");} } Shouldn't pressing the Enter key write something to the console? According to the docs (http://java.sun.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/awt/Window.html#dispose()): The Window and its subcomponents can be made displayable again by rebuilding the native resources with a subsequent call to pack or show. The states of the recreated Window and its subcomponents will be identical to the states of these objects at the point where the Window was disposed Is this intended behaviour?

  • need help configuring port to input in 8051

    - by Aabid Ali
    The connection is as follows An infrared sensor circuit which yields 0 or 5v depending on closed or open circuit output line to port 2_0 pin of microcontroller 8051 philips.Problem is when i do this the circuit value are overridden by the current value on port 2_0 led always goes on.Here is my code(in keil c) i guess i have not configured P 2_0 as input properly void MSDelay(unsigned int); sbit led=P1^0; void main() { unsigned int var; P2=0xFF; TMOD=0x20; TH1=0xFD; SCON =0x50; TR1=1; while(1) { var=P2^0; if(var==0) { led=1; SBUF='0'; while(TI==0); TI=0; MSDelay(250); } else { led=0; SBUF='9'; while(TI==0); TI=0; MSDelay(100); } } }

  • moss 2007 workflows

    - by nav
    Hi, I'm new to MOSS 2007. I need create a workflow to look at a document's review date (a select list predefined to values of 3 , 6 or 12 months) and send an email if the review date has passed. So the workflow needs to get the documents review date then convert this to date time add to the created date if greater than current date send an email. Can anyone tell me if this is possible to do using SP designer to create the workflow? I'dd be grateful for any pointers. Many Thanks, Nav

  • Trying to insert a row using stored procedured with a parameter binded to an expression.

    - by Arvind Singh
    Environment: asp.net 3.5 (C# and VB) , Ms-sql server 2005 express Tables Table:tableUser ID (primary key) username Table:userSchedule ID (primary key) thecreator (foreign key = tableUser.ID) other fields I have created a procedure that accepts a parameter username and gets the userid and inserts a row in Table:userSchedule Problem: Using stored procedure with datalist control to only fetch data from the database by passing the current username using statement below works fine protected void SqlDataSourceGetUserID_Selecting(object sender, SqlDataSourceSelectingEventArgs e) { e.Command.Parameters["@CurrentUserName"].Value = Context.User.Identity.Name; } But while inserting using DetailsView it shows error Procedure or function OASNewSchedule has too many arguments specified. I did use protected void SqlDataSourceCreateNewSchedule_Selecting(object sender, SqlDataSourceSelectingEventArgs e) { e.Command.Parameters["@CreatedBy"].Value = Context.User.Identity.Name; } DetailsView properties: autogen fields: off, default mode: insert, it shows all the fields that may not be expected by the procedure like ID (primary key) not required in procedure and CreatedBy (user id ) field . So I tried removing the 2 fields from detailsview and shows error Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'CreatedBy', table 'D:\OAS\OAS\APP_DATA\ASPNETDB.MDF.dbo.OASTest'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated. For some reason parameters value is not being set. Can anybody bother to understand this and help?
