Facebook dialog appears but always says "An error has occurred"

cellForRowAtIndexPath not called for all sections

I have a UITableView that has five sections. Just as the title describes cellForRowAtIndexPath is only being called for the first four. All connections have been made concerning the datasource and delegate. Also, my numberOfSectionsInTableView clearly returns 5. Printing out the number of sections from within cellForRowAtIndexPath shows the correct number, thus confirming that cellForRowAtIndexPath is simply not being called for all sections. What on earth is going on? I looked pretty hard for an answer to this question but could't find one. If this has already been answered please forgive me and point me in the correct direction. Object inside of array -- works in one scope but not in another?

Ok I've been learning some of the more advanced aspects of Javascript and now trying to use this I'm stuck. Freetype2 (error-)return value documentation

In short, I'm looking for documentation that would limit the error situations to check for after a Freetype library function failed, much like the OpenGL and Win32 APIs document the error codes generated by their respective functions. I can't seem to find such documentation though, so I was wondering how to best handle translation of Freetype errors to typed exceptions. Background: I am currently in the process of implementing font-rendering capability (using Freetype) for my GUI framework, which makes strong use of typed exceptions to indicate error situations. However, the Freetype docs seem to completely omit what errors can be expected from what functions. That, if such documentation does indeed not exist, would basically leave me with two options: either guessing which errors make sense for a certain Freetype function (obviously prone to mistakes on my part), or considering every error code for translation into appropriate exceptions (less verbose since I would have to write the translation only once). Performance isn't really critical in the code that calls the Freetype library, so even the latter option would probably be acceptable, but surely there must be some kind of documentation on which library calls may return what Freetype error? Is there any such documentation which I just somehow managed to not find? Should I go the route of generically expecting every error code for translation? Or are there other ways to approach this problem? By the way, I wanted to avoid introducing some kind of generic FreetypeException (containing a description of the Freetype error) since I intended to completely hide what libraries I'm using (not from a legal point-of-view, mind you), but I guess I can be convinced to do this anyway if the consensus is that it would be the best option. I don't think it matters for this question, but I'm writing in C++.

Facebook and rtl

Is there any good way to display rtl based languages (in this case Hebrew) in facbook? As soon as I include a page in rtl formating facebook it gives displays it ltr and usually aligned right. What definetly works is when I use dir="rtl" in the code. But then the fbml tag come out the other way round. And when I try to publish a stream it is not displayed correctly. Is there any support for rtl in facebook? NHibernate class referencing discriminator based subclass

I have a generic class Lookup which contains code/value properties. The table PK is category/code. There are subclasses for each category of lookup, and I've set the discriminator column in the base class and its value in the subclass. Here's the problem. When a class has a property of type MaritalStatus, I create a reference based on the contained code ID column ("MARITAL_STATUS_CODE_ID"). NHibernate doesn't like it because I didn't map both primary key columns (Category ID & Code ID). But with the Reference being of type MaritalStatus, NHibernate should already know what the value of the category ID is going to be, because of the discriminator value. What am I missing?

Selecting Date Range on a PHP form and displaying results from MySQL database

This may be something simple but I cant understand why this wouldn't work.. I have a php form where you can select a date range from drop downs. I've given the field names day, month year, and day1, month1, year1. When clicking submit it takes you to a second php form. Optimization of SQL query regarding pair comparisons

Hi, I'm working on a pair comparison site where a user loads a list of films and grades from another site. My site then picks two random movies and matches them against each other, the user selects the better of the two and a new pair is loaded. This gives a complete list of movies ordered by whichever is best. The database contains three tables; fm_film_data - this contains all imported movies fm_film_data(id int(11), imdb_id varchar(10), tmdb_id varchar(10), title varchar(255), original_title varchar(255), year year(4), director text, description text, poster_url varchar(255)) fm_films - this contains all information related to a user, what movies the user has seen, what grades the user has given, as well as information about each film's wins/losses for that user. fm_films(id int(11), user_id int(11), film_id int(11), grade int(11), wins int(11), losses int(11)) fm_log - this contains records of every duel that has occurred. fm_log(id int(11), user_id int(11), winner int(11), loser int(11)) To pick a pair to show the user, I've created a mySQL query that checks the log and picks a pair at random. Organising files and classes in XCode (iPhone application)

It's a generic question and really a newbie one too, so bear with me... I'm playing with some iPhone development, and trying to create a simple "flip type" application. Nothing sophisticated, let's say on the flip side is a short application summary, bit like 'help' and on the main screen is a simple board game, let's say tic-tac-toe or similar. Now, XCode has generated me 'Main View', 'Flipside View' and 'Application Delegate' folders, with default template files in them. Now the question is where do I create appropriate 'MVC' classes? Let's say (V)iew classes are going to be the ones that have been automatically created. So the Flipside view class is responsible for generating text/images etc on the 'help' view. 'Main View' class is what draws the items on the table and updates the counters, etc. Where should I place the 'controller' class? And also, should it only be dealing with proxying only to the model? According to this the controller method is called from the view and manipulates the method classes. Similarly, the results from model are passed back to the view class by the controller issuing the calls to appropriate view methods. Similarly, where does the model class go? or should I just create a new folder for each, controller and model class files? What I'm after is the best practices, or just a short description how people normally structure their applications. I know it's very specific and also undefined... I came from Django background, so the way stuff is organised there is slightly different. Hope this makes sense, sorry if it's all bit vague, but I have to start somewhere :) And yes I've read quite few docs on the apple developer site, but trouble is that the documents are either going into too much detail about the language/framework/etc and the examples are way too simplistic. Actually, this leads me to the final question, has anyone know any good example of relatively complete application tutorial which I could use as a reference in organising my files?...

Convert Virtual Key Code to unicode string

I have some code I've been using to get the current keyboard layout and convert a virtual key code into a string. This works great in most situations, but I'm having trouble with some specific cases. The one that brought this to light is the accent key next to the backspace key on german QWERTZ keyboards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:KB_Germany.svg That key generates the VK code I'd expect kVK_ANSI_Equal but when using a QWERTZ keyboard layout I get no description back. Its ending up as a dead key because its supposed to be composed with another key. Is there any way to catch these cases and do the proper conversion? My current code is below. jquery accessing dynamic class selectors

How can I optimize this loop?

I've got a piece of code that returns a super-long string that represents "search results". Each result is represented by a double HTML break symbol. For example: Result1<br><br>Result 2<br><br>Result3 I've got the following loop that takes each result and puts it into an array, stripping out the break indicator, "kBreakIndicator" (<br><br>). The problem is that this lopp takes way too long to execute. With a few results it's fine, but once you hit a hundred results, it's about 20-30 seconds slower. It's unacceptable performance. What can I do to improve performance? Here's my code: content is the original NSString. Automapping Collections

I am using Automapper for mapping my domain model and DTO. When I map Mapper.Map<SiteDTO, SiteEntity> it works fine. But when I use collections of the same entities, it doesn't map. Mapper.Map<Collection<SiteEntity>, Collection<SiteDTO>>(siteEntityCollection); AS per Automapper Wiki, it says the lists implementing ICollection would be mapped, I am using Collection that implements ICollection, but automapper doesn't map it. Is there a free, smale-scale, not web-based issue/bug tracking system?

I know, there were posts before here on SO before concerning issue or bug tracking systems, like this one, but the given answers point either to commercial systems or web-based systems, which both seem to be oversized for our needs. What I am looking for is a non-commercial tool for a team of 3 to 4 developers, which can be used on an existing fileserver, without the need of installing additional server software like a C/S database or a web server. Some things I expect from such a system: allows to remember bugs (with a priority) and issues / ideas for new features (mostly without a priority) description of the issue, perhaps some additional remarks short info who entered the bug/issue entry one or more tags allowing us to group or filter the list Any suggestions? EDIT: I should have said that, but we are using MS Windows clients, Visual Studio development, Tortoise SVN (the latter works fine without a subversion server). And yes, I am strict on "no server software", since all server based solutions I have seen so far seem much to oversized/heavy weighted/too-much-effort-to-be-worth-it. In fact, if no one has a better idea, we are going to use a spreadsheet, but I can't believe there are no ready-made, light weight solutions.

How can I implement a splay tree that performs the zig operation last, not first?

For my Algorithms & Data Structures class, I've been tasked with implementing a splay tree in Haskell. My algorithm for the splay operation is as follows: If the node to be splayed is the root, the unaltered tree is returned. If the node to be splayed is one level from the root, a zig operation is performed and the resulting tree is returned. If the node to be splayed is two or more levels from the root, a zig-zig or zig-zag operation is performed on the result of splaying the subtree starting at that node, and the resulting tree is returned. This is valid according to my teacher. However, the Wikipedia description of a splay tree says the zig step "will be done only as the last step in a splay operation" whereas in my algorithm it is the first step in a splay operation. I want to implement a splay tree that performs the zig operation last instead of first, but I'm not sure how it would best be done. It seems to me that such an algorithm would become more complex, seeing as how one needs to find the node to be splayed before it can be determined whether a zig operation should be performed or not. How can I implement this in Haskell (or some other functional language)?

Connection string problems on shared hosting with sql server 2005 express

hi i have problem connecting to my db on a shared hosting, my host provider says they deployed sql 2005 express on their database and i prepared my connection string as follows to take advantage of sql express. \ the data source nae i used originally was ./SQLExpress but my host provider asked that i change it to local host, although with the former it didnt connect, but still with the change as indicated above the error still comes up on access to my default page. the error is as follows; Server Error in '/' Application. Managed WMI Event class is not an event class???

I can also run select * from MyEvent, and get the result. Instrumentation.Fire() also returns no error. However, when I'm trying to subscribe to event using "Notification Query" option, I'm getting 0x80041059 Number: 0x80041059 Facility: WMI Description: Class is not an event class. What am I doing wrong, and is there a correct way to create managed WMI event?

Cocoa memory management - object going nil on me

Hi all, Mac OS X 10.6, Cocoa project, with retain/release gc I've got a function which: iterates over a specific directory, scans it for subfolders (included nested ones), builds an NSMutableArray of strings (one string per found subfolder path), and returns that array. e.g. (error handling removed for brevity). NSMutableArray * ListAllSubFoldersForFolderPath(NSString *folderPath) { NSMutableArray *a = [NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity:100]; NSString *itemName = nil; NSFileManager *fm = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; NSDirectoryEnumerator *e = [fm enumeratorAtPath:folderPath]; while (itemName = [e nextObject]) { NSString *fullPath = [folderPath stringByAppendingPathComponent:itemName]; BOOL isDirectory; if ([fm fileExistsAtPath:fullPath isDirectory:&isDirectory]) { if (isDirectory is_eq YES) { [a addObject: fullPath]; } } } return a; } The calling function takes the array just once per session, keeps it around for later processing: static NSMutableArray *gFolderPaths = nil; ... gFolderPaths = ListAllSubFoldersForFolderPath(myPath); [gFolderPaths retain]; All appears good at this stage. [gFolderPaths count] returns the correct number of paths found, and [gFolderPaths description] prints out all the correct path names. The problem: When I go to use gFolderPaths later (say, the next run through my event loop) my assertion code (and gdb in Xcode) tells me that it is nil. I am not modifying gFolderPaths in any way after that initial grab, so I am presuming that my memory management is screwed and that gFolderPaths is being released by the runtime. My assumptions/presumptions I do not have to retain each string as I add it to the mutable array because that is done automatically, but I do have to retain the the array once it is handed over to me from the function, because I won't be using it immediately. Is this correct? Any help is appreciated.

Problem with Google Calendar API "getTimes()" method

I'm trying to get several informations from google calendar's API in JAVA. While trying to access to informations about the time of an event I got a problem. This seems strange to me since for a calendar event it should always exist a description of when it should happen... what am I missing??
