• Implement LINQ to Entities unsupported method

  Hi! LINQ to Entities has many LINQ methods marked as "Unsupported" (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738550.aspx). Is any way to implement some of these methods by hands? Or I should wait next release of EF? • how to know which special character is there in a file?

  My app needs to process text files during a batch process. Occassionally I receive a file with some special character at the end of the file. I am not sure what that special character is. Is there anyway I can find what that character is so that I can tell the other team which is producing that file. I have used mozilla's library to guess the file encoding and it says UTF-8.

• JNI issue: symbol lookup error by FileHandle in C++ DLL

  I made JNI functions and linked them with the c++ dynamic library successfully. I got all of them working just fine, but I had an issue for one function, I got symbol lookup error from the FileHandle class that I used in the c++ that I use to read data from file. Knowing that it's working on a normal c++ project, but not in the DLL. /usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0/bin/java: symbol lookup error: /home/.../NetBeansProjects/TRIOGUI/dist/libNativeAdd.so: undefined symbol: _ZN5Gdsii9GdsParserC1EPKcN7SoftJin10FileHandle8FileTypeEN5boost8functionIFvS2_ESaIvEEE Java Result: 127 Can anybody help me please? :)

• writing large excel spreadsheets

  has anybody found a library that works well with large spreadsheets? I've tried apache's POI but it fails miserably working with large files - both reading and writing. It uses massive amounts of memory leaving you needing a supercomputer to parse or create a 20+mb spreadsheet. Surely there is a more memory efficient way and someone has written it?!

  I need to detect the SO of the user in a web application (IE only). I am using the function BrowserDetect.OS from javascript, but it returns the same String ("Windows Vista") when called from Windows 2008 and Windows Vista, and I cannot distinguish the user SO.
