Problem with sessions subdomains and authlogic in Rails.

I've got a rails app with authlogic authentication and a username.domain.com structure built with subdomain-fu. But my session breaks when going from domain.com to username.domain.com. I've tried to add config.action_controller.session = {:domain => '.localhost:3000'} to my development.rb but that seams to break authlogic disabling sign out/sign in. Any suggestions on what to do? I have built a blog application using Ruby on Rails. In the application I have posts and tags. Post has_many :tags and Tag belongs_to :post. In the /views/posts/index.html view I want to display two things. First is a listing of all posts displayed 'created_at DESC' and then in the side bar I am wanting to reference my Tags table, group records, and display as a link that allows for viewing all posts with that tag. With the code below, I am able to display the tag groups and succesfully display all posts with that tag. There are two problems with it thought. /posts view, the code seems to be referencing the Tag table and displaying the post multiple times, directly correlated to how many tags that post has. (i.e. if the post has 3 tags it will display the post 3 times). /posts view, only displays posts that have Tags. ConfigurationManager.AppSettings is empty?

Hello All, I have a VS2008 ASP.NET Web Service Application running on the local IIS of my XP machine. A separate project in the same solution uses test methods to invoke the WS calls, and run their processes. When I added a web reference to the WS App, VS2008 created a Settings.settings file in the Properties folder to store the address of the web reference. This process also created a new section in the Web.config file called applicationSettings to store the values from Settings.settings When my application attempts to retrieve configuration values from the appSettings section of the Web.config file, via ConfigurationManager.AppSettings[key], all values are null and AppSettings.AllKeys.Length is always zero. I even reverted the Web.config file to before the web reference was added, and made sure it was exactly the same as a system-generated web.config file for a new project that works fine. After comparing the reverted Web.config and a new Web.config, I addded one simple value in the appSettings section, and still no luck with ConfigurationManager.AppSettings[key]. I have gotten a great deal of help from KandadaBoggu on my last question and very very thankful for that. As we were getting buried in the comments I wanted to break this part out. I am attempting to create a tag feature on the rails blog I am developing. The relationship is Post has_many :tags and Tag belongs_to :post. Adding and deleting tags to posts are working great. In my /view/posts/index.html.erb I have a section called tags where I am successfully querying the Tags table, grouping them and displaying the count next to the tag_name (as a side note, I mistakenly called the column containing the tag name, 'tag_name' instead of just 'name' as I should have) . In addition the display of these groups are a link that is referencing the index method in the PostsController. That is where the problem is. When you navigate to /posts you get an error because there is no parameter being passed (without clicking the tag group link). I have the .empty? in there so not sure what is going wrong here. Cannot access website using host headers on local windows 7 and iis 7

I have problem of accessing my website created using visual studio on my local pc. the pc using windows 7 with static ip address has been configured and i have added a hostname "192.168.0.1 hosts myweb.mylocal.com" on c:\windows\system32\driver\etc. on the IIS i have configured the binding myweb.mylocal.com with impersonation set enabled and windows authentication is enabled. the user login just keep prompting eventhough i have entered the correct username and password.

Hi, Is there a plugin or feature in jQuery that enables the dynamic loading of stylesheets from different origins similar to $.getJSON() or $.getScript()? I am able to dynamically integrate a style sheet from the same origin, but I need to be able to dynamically inject a jQuery UI theme from a different origin into a page. Django - testing using large tables of static data

I am using "manage.py test" along with a JSON fixture I created using using 'dumpdata' My problem is that several of the tables in the fixture are very large (for example one containing the names of all cities in the US) which makes running a test incredibly slow. Seeing as several of these tables are never modified by the program (eg - the city names will never need to be modified), it doesn't make much sense to create and tear down these tables for every test run. Is there a better way to be testing this code using this kind of data?

But it will display (after refreshing the page) if I first open Internet Explorer and view the same page. Also, if I make the URL refer to my local IIS instance, the login dialog will appear. Ajax comments form in ASP.NET MVC2, howto?

I've been playing around with different aspects of MVC for some time now, and I've reached a situation where I'm not sure what would be the best way to solve a problem. I'm hoping that the SO community will help me out here :P I've seen a number of examples of Ajax.BeginForm on the internet, and it seems like a very nifty idea. E.g. you have a dropdown where you select a customer - and on selecting one it will load this client's details in some placeholder on the page. This works perfectly fine. But what to do if you want to tie in some validation in the box? Just hypothetically, imagine an article page, and user comments in the bottom. Below the comments area there's an ajax-y "Add comment" box. When a user adds a comment, it will appear in the comments area, below the last comment there. If I set the Ajax.BeginForm to Append the result of the call to the Comments area, it will work fine. But what if the data posted is not valid? Instead of appending a "successful" comment to the comments area I have to show the user validation errors. At this point I decided that the area INSIDE the Ajax.BeginForm will be inside a partial, and the form's submits will return this partial. Validation works fine. On each submit we reload the contents inside the form element. But how to add the successful comment to the top? Other things to consider: The comment form also has a "Preview" button. When the user clicks on Preview, I should load the rendered comment into a preview box. This will probably be inside the form area as well. I was thinking of using Json results instead. When the user submits the form, the server code will generate a Json object with a Success value, and html rendered partials as some properties. Something like { "success": true, "form": "<html form data>", "comment": "successful comment html to inject into the page" } This would be a perfect solution, except there's no way in MVC to render a partial into a string, inside the controller (separation of context, remember?). So.. what should I do then? Any "correct" way to implement this? Anyone???

Hosting Mecurial HG via VisualSVN Server

I have tried to host a Mercurial HG repository using a Scriptalias. ScriptAlias /hg/ "htdocs/hgwebdir.cgi" If I go to Chrome it display the contents of the cgi file. In IE it does render however images and links are not displayed. In either case the repository I want to display is not shown. Has anyone managed to get this working with VisualSVN? Also will this work if I have windows authentication and https? Thanks David
