• Build failed question - maven - jre or jdk problem

  Hi all, I have my JAVA_HOME set to C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_18 After I run maven install I get this message from eclipse: Reason: Unable to locate the Javac Compiler in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\..\lib\tools.jar Please ensure you are using JDK 1.4 or above and not a JRE (the com.sun.tools.javac.Main class is required). In most cases you can change the location of your Java installation by setting the JAVA_HOME environment variable. I'm certain that this is the tricky part Please ensure you are using JDK 1.4 or above and not a JRE When I run configuration its set to JRE6, how do I change it to JDK 1.6 which I have already installed EDIT I even tried to modify the plugin : <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.0.2</version> <configuration> <source>1.6</source> <target>1.6</target> <executable>C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\bin</executable> </configuration> </plugin> Still I get the same error Maybe I forgot to say I use eclipse maven plugin .. how can I change from JRE to JDK in eclipse ?

• Java: Handling cookies when logging in with POST

  I'm having quite some trouble logging in to any site in Java. I'm using the default URLconnection POST request, but I'm unsure how to handle the cookies properly. I tried this guide: http://www.hccp.org/java-net-cookie-how-to.html But couldn't get it working. I've been trying basically for days now, and I really need help if anyone wants to help me. I'll probably be told that it's messy and that I should use a custom library meant for this stuff. I tried downloading one, but wasn't sure how to get it set up and working. I've been trying various things for hours now, and it just won't work. I'd rather do this with a standard URLconnection, but if anyone can help me get another library working that's better for this, that would be great, too. I would really appreciate if someone could post a working source that I could study. What I need is: POST login data to site - Get and store the cookie from the site - use cookie with next URLconnection requests to get logged-in version of the site. Can anyone help me with this? Would be EXTREMELY appreciated. It really does mean a lot. If anyone wants to actually help me out live, please leave an instant-messenger address. Thank you a lot for your time.

However when I create a virtual folder to host and launch this web service (still located in the same machine with SP2007), I got the following error when invoking ShowSPMyList() method, at the line to execute OpenWeb(). These are the details of the error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "WSS_Content_8887ac57951146a290ca134778ddc3f8" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. Does anyone have any idea why this error happens? Why does the web service run fine inside Visual Studio 2008, but not when running stand-alone? I checked and in both cases, the username variable has the same value (domain\myusername). Thank you very much.

I tried unitils.org , but cannot find a sample like this , it just directly inject the EntityManagerFactory to the TestCast , not what I want ...

  I cannot for the life of me figure out why I'm getting a NullPointerException. When a user clicks on a particular image, a dialog window is supposed to pop-up and display a larger version of said image: private OnClickListener coverListener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { showDialog(DIALOG_COVER); } }; DIALOG_COVER is set to = 0. Anyway, things are great up until the time when I initiate a DH key exchange. I've compared the traffic when I establish a ssh connection (from openssh client to openssh server), to the traffic when my client connects to the same openssh server. OpenSSH client - OpenSSH server (S for server, C for client): S: SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.1p1 Debian-6ubuntu2\r (saying hello) C: SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.2\r (introducing myself) C: Key Exchange Init (0x14 = 20) S: Key Exchange Init C: Diffie-Hellman GEX Request (0x22 = 34) (with DH GEX min, number of bits and max) S: Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange Reply (with P, G, etc.) C: Diffie-Hellman GEX Init S: Diffie-Hellman GEX Reply My client - OpenSSH server: S: SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.1p1 Debian-6ubuntu2\r (saying hello) C: SSH-2.0-Some_Name\r (introducing myself) C: Key Exchange Init (0x14 = 20) S: Key Exchange Init C: Diffie-Hellman GEX Request (0x22 = 34) (with DH GEX min, number of bits and max) and then a bogus TCP packet as reply (probably the server connection has been terminated after/upon GEX Request. I have yet to use AES128 (which I think is the encryption chosen, but I'm not sure how to verify this...), and I'm still sending in a non-compressed format, looking to get the P, G etc. values to make the DH calculations. So where I'm stranded is: RFC 4419 page 3 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4419.txt I've send SSH_MSG_KEY_DH_GEX_REQUEST, but the server does not respond SSH_MSG_KEX_DH_GEX_GROUP. Can anyone give me a little advice on what I'm not understanding here? Does the server not understand my GEX request (due to it expecting encryption, or?)? Any help is very much appreciated, thanks :)

• FCKEditor doesn't set Value property on postback!

  I'm using FCKEditor on my asp.net web page. It appears beautifully, and the editor looks really good on the front end. Only problem is, the .Value property is not being set on the postback. No matter what changes the user makes to the value of the control on the page, when I click "Submit", the .Value property remains blank. I have Googled for other solutions, and most of them are of the variety where there's some conflict with Ajax, such as this and this. My problem is not solved by these solutions; it's much more fundamental than that. I'm not doing anything to do with Ajax; I'm just a simple asp.net newbie with a simple web form, and the value property is not being set on postback, not in IE and not in FF. It appears that at least one other person has had this problem, but no solution yet. Any ideas? Thanks! New information: I tried this out on a "hello world" test web site - and the test web site works 100%. There is obviously a problem on my page, but I have no idea where to begin tracking this down. • log4j vs. System.out.println - logger advantages?

  Hi! I'm newly using log4j in a project. A fellow programmer told me that using System.out.println is considered bas style and that log4j is something like standard for logging matters nowadays. We do lots of JUnit testing - System.out stuff turns out to be harder to test. Therefore I began utilizing log4j for a Console controller class, that's just handling commandline parameters. // some logger config org.apache.log4j.BasicConfigurator.configure(); Logger logger = LoggerFactory.getLogger(Console.class); Category cat = Category.getRoot(); Seems to work: logger.debug("String"); Produces: 1 [main] DEBUG project.prototype.controller.Console - String I got two questions regarding this: From my basic understanding using this logger should provide me comfortable options to write a logfile with timestamps - instead of spamming the console - if debug mode is enabled at the logger? Why is System.out.println harder to test? I searched stackoverflow and found a testing recipe. So I wonder what kind of advantage I really get by using log4j.

• Lightweight spinlocks built from GCC atomic operations?

  I'd like to minimize synchronization and write lock-free code when possible in a project of mine. When absolutely necessary I'd love to substitute light-weight spinlocks built from atomic operations for pthread and win32 mutex locks. My understanding is that these are system calls underneath and could cause a context switch (which may be unnecessary for very quick critical sections where simply spinning a few times would be preferable). The atomic operations I'm referring to are well documented here: http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-4.4.1/gcc/Atomic-Builtins.html Here is an example to illustrate what I'm talking about. Imagine a RB-tree with multiple readers and writers possible. RBTree::exists() is read-only and thread safe, RBTree::insert() would require exclusive access by a single writer (and no readers) to be safe.   I've been looking at different tutorials and I know I'm close but I'm getting lost in implementation details because some of them are a little bit dated and a few things have changed since Firefox 3. I have already written the javascript for the firefox extension, now I need to make it into an XPCOM component. This is the functionality that I need: My Javascript file is simple, I have two functions startServer() and stopServer. • Reading Data from DDFS ValueError: No JSON object could be decoded

  I'm running dozens of map reduce jobs for a number of different purposes using disco. My data has grown enormous and I thought I would try using DDFS for a change rather than standard txt files. I've followed the DISCO map/reduce example Counting Words as a map/reduce job, without to much difficulty and with the help of others, Reading JSON specific data into DISCO I've gotten past one of my latest problems. I'm trying to read data in/out of ddfs to better chunk and distribute it but am having a bit of trouble.   I am using the Datatables jquery plugin for one of my projects. For one in particular, the number of columns can vary based on how many children a consumer has (yes I realize normalization and proper technique would insert on another row but it is a client requirement). UPDATE REGARDING COMMENTS/ANSWERS I have received a number of responses indicating the number of headers may not match the field count in the body. As I mention below, eliminating the php script below altogether would eliminate 5+ fields in the header and without question throw the count match off balance. This DOES NOT however cause an error and in fact "resolves" the issue in that datatables functions properly (even though there is NO header record for 5+ fields in the body.

• DDMS plugin not loading GPX files

  I am unable to load a GPX file in the DDMS eclipse plugin. When specifying a GPX file, no points are added to the emulator control list. I have tried adding KML files as well, generated in Google earth. Is there a way to get these files to work?   Hello, I'm trying to create an element in an XML where the basic content is copied and modified. My XML is something like <root> <node> <child>value</child> <child2>value2</child2> </node> <node2>bla</node2> </root> The number of children of node may change as well as the children of root. The XSLT should copy the whole content, modify some values and add some new.   Hi, this is a pretty basic question but I'm not entirely clear how to do this. I am trying to use a third-party service that has web-based service. The service is called Postful. But I'm not clear what exactly to do? I've looked at ActiveResource (http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/ActiveResource/Base.html) and rest-client, but I'm still not clear exactly what steps, code, and files to create. • html5 vs flash - full comparison chart anywhere?

  So since Steve Jobs said Flash sucks and implied that HTML5 can do everything Flash can without the need for a Plugin, I keep hearing those exact words from a lot of People. I would really like to have a Chart somewhere (similar to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_layout_engines_%28HTML5%29#Form_elements_and_attributes ) that I can just show to those people. Showing all the little things that Flash can do right now, that HTML5/Ajax/CSS is not yet even thinking about. But of course also the things that HTML5 does better. I would like to see details compared like audio playback, realtime audio processing, byte level access, bitmap data manipulation, webcam access, binary sockets, stuff in the works such as P2P technology (adobe stratus) and all the stuff I don't know about myself. Ideally with examples of what can be accomplished with, lets say Binary Sockets (such as a POP3 client) because otherwise it won't mean a lot to non-programmers since they will just say "well we can do without Binary Sockets". And ideally with some current benchmarks and some examples of websites that use this technology. I've searched the web and am surprised not to find anything. So is there such a comparison somewhere? Or does anybody want to create this and post it to Wikipedia? ;-)
