  • API for displaying graphs in a web app?

    - by Rosarch
    I have graphs (nodes/arcs) that I want to display to the user. I need to be able to capture the event of a user clicking on a node. Something like Google Charts API's Simple Org Chart would be great, but it looks like it only supports trees. What other service can I use? Or should I hack something ugly together using Google Charts?

  • C# DateTime manipulation

    - by kb
    Hi I have a list of dates for an event in the following format 13/04/2010 10:30:00 13/04/2010 13:30:00 14/04/2010 10:30:00 14/04/2010 13:30:00 15/04/2010 10:30:00 15/04/2010 13:30:00 16/04/2010 10:30:00 17/04/2010 11:00:00 17/04/2010 13:30:00 17/04/2010 15:30:00 How can i have the list be output, so that the date is only displayed once followed by the times for that date, so the above list would look like something like this: 13/04/2010 10:30:00 13:30:00 14/04/2010 10:30:00 13:30:00 15/04/2010 10:30:00 13:30:00 16/04/2010 10:30:00 17/04/2010 11:00:00 13:30:00 15:30:00

  • MonoTouch - foreach vs for loops (performance)

    - by ifwdev
    Normally I'm well aware that a consideration like this is premature optimization. Right now I have some event handlers being attached inside a foreach loop. I am wondering if this style might be prone to leaks or inefficient memory use due to closures being created. Is there any validity to this thinking?

  • beneficial in terms of performance

    - by Usama Khalil
    Hi, is it better to declare Webservice class object instances as static as the .asmx webservice classes have only static methods. what i want is that i declare and instantiate webservice asmx class as static in aspx Page Behind Class. and on every event call on that page i could perform operation against webservice methods. is it beneficial in terms of performance? Thanks Usama

  • Flex: convert VideoPlayer.currentTime to string "00:00:00:000"

    - by numediaweb
    Hi there! what about this one: I want to format the currentTime displayed by a videoPlayer component inside flex, something like : 8230.999 to something like 01:59:59:999 which is "hours:minutes:seconds:milliseconds" I trie different sets of codes but they can't get it to work because currentTime is nor a correct miliseconds time as it adds a floating 3 digit point to seconds; so instead of : 2000ms it outputs 2.000 something people like me just can't understand! thanx for any help :) ### UPDATE I still have problem with milliseconds. here's the current MXML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600"> <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ protected function convert_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { var val:Number = new Number(inPut.text); //inPut.text = 1000.001 //val = val * 1000; outPut.text = timeFormat(val); } public static function timeFormat(value:Number):String { var milliseconds:Number = value % 1000; var seconds:Number = Math.floor((value/1000) % 60); var minutes:Number = Math.floor((value/60000) % 60); var hours:Number = Math.floor((value/3600000) % 24); var s_miliseconds:String = (milliseconds<10 ? "00" : (milliseconds<100 ? "0" : ""))+ String(milliseconds); var s_seconds:String = seconds < 10 ? "0" + String(seconds) : String(seconds); var s_minutes:String = minutes < 10 ? "0" + String(minutes) : String(minutes); var s_hours:String = hours < 10 ? "0" + String(hours) : String(hours); return s_hours + ":" + s_minutes + ":" + s_seconds + '.'+s_miliseconds; // returns 00:00:01.000.0009999999999763531 should return 00:00:01.001 // I still have problem with milliseconds } ]]> </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> <!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here --> </fx:Declarations> <s:TextInput x="240" y="72" id="inPut" text="1000.001"/> <s:TextInput x="240" y="140" id="outPut"/> <s:Button x="274" y="107" label="convert" id="convert" click="convert_clickHandler(event)"/> </s:Application>

  • Not sure how to use ccTouchesBegan to do what I want it to do.

    - by thyrgle
    So when I see ccTouchesBegan (or touchesBegan for that fact of the matter) I see something like this usually: - (void)ccTouchesBegan:(NSSet*)touches withEvent:(UIEvent*)event { UITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; } But, what I am not getting is how do you just detect if one object has been touched? For example how would I check if a specific CCSprite I declared has been touched? Sorry if this is a newbish question but, I just don't understand and if you need more clarification just ask how I can clarify myself more.

  • Joda Time cannot subtract one hour

    - by Leoa
    In my android program, I have a spinner that allows the user to select different times. Each selection is processed with Joda time to subtract the minutes. It works fine for minutes 0 to 59 and 61 and greater. However, when 60 minutes is subtracted, the time is not updated, and the original time is shown. How do I get Joda time to subtract 60 minutes? Spinner: public class MyOnItemSelectedListener implements OnItemSelectedListener { public void onItemSelected(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int pos, long id1) { String mins = parent.getItemAtPosition(pos).toString(); int intmins=0; // process user's selection of alert time if(mins.equals("5 minutes")){intmins = 5;} if(mins.equals("10 minutes")){intmins = 10;} if(mins.equals("20 minutes")){intmins = 20;} if(mins.equals("30 minutes")){intmins = 30;} if(mins.equals("40 minutes")){intmins = 40;} if(mins.equals("50 minutes")){intmins = 50;} if(mins.equals("60 minutes")){intmins = 60;} if(mins.equals("120 minutes")){intmins = 120;} String stringMinutes=""+intmins; setAlarm(intmins, stringMinutes); } else { } public void onNothingSelected(AdapterView parent) { mLocationDisplay.setText(" " + location); } } public void setAlarm(int intmins, String mins) { // based alarm time on start time of event. TODO get info from database. String currentDate; SimpleDateFormat myFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss"); Date date1 = null; DateTime dt; currentDate = eventdate + " " + startTimeMilitary;// startTimeMilitary; try { date1 = myFormat.parse(currentDate); } catch (ParseException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } dt = new DateTime(date1); long dateInMillis = dt.getMillis(); String sDateInMillis = Long.toString(dateInMillis); // subtract the selected time from the event's start time String newAlertTime = subtractTime(dt, intmins); newAlertTime = subtractTime(dt, intmins); //......}

  • What are lightweight events?

    - by Vitali Climenco
    Ran a handful of times into the term lightweight event. The texts were not accompanied by any code snippets to figure out the idea behind the term. I would really appreciate it if anyone could explain what are lightweight events about and throw in an example.

  • How to make a ToolStripComboBox to fill all the space available on a ToolStrip?

    - by Ivan
    A ToolStripComboBox is placed after a ToolStripButton and is folowed by another one, which is right-aligned. How do I best set up the ToolStripComboBox to always adjust its length to fill all the space available between the preceeding and the folowing ToolStripButtons? In past I used to handle a parent resize event, calculate the new length to set based on neighboring elements coordinates and setting the new size. But now, as I am developing a new application, I wonder if there is no better way.

Will it execute in the order defined in the web.config? <httpModules> <add type="MyApp.FirstModule, MyApp" name="FirstModule"/> <add type="MyApp.SecondModule, MyApp" name="SecondModule"/> <add type="OtherApp.OtherModule, OtherApp" name="OtherModule"/> </httpModules> Are there other ways that the order can be specified?

  • Library resolution with autoconf?

    - by Alnitak
    I'm building my first autoconf managed package. However I can't find any simple examples anywhere of how to specify a required library, and find that library where it might be in various different places. I've currently got: AC_CHECK_LIB(['event'], ['event_init']) but: It doesn't find the version installed in /opt/local/lib It doesn't complain if the library isn't actually found I need to set the include path to /opt/local/include too any help, or links to decent tutorials much appreciated...

  • Doing some stuff right before the user exits the page

    - by Mike
    I have seen some questions here regarding what I want to achieve and have based what I have so far on those answer. But there is a slight misbehavior that is still irritating me. What I have is sort of a recovery feature. Whenever you are typing text, the client sends a sync request to the server every 45 seconds. It does 2 things. First, it extends the lease the client has on the record (only one person may edit at one time) for another 60 seconds. Second, it sends the text typed so far to the server in case the server crashes, internet connection fails, etc. In that case, the next time the user enters our application, the user is notified that something has gone wrong and that some text was recovered. Think of Microsoft or OpenOffice recovery whenever they crash! Of course, if the user leaves the page willingly, the user does not need to be notified and as a result, the recovery is deleted. I do that final request via a beforeunload event. Everything went fine until I was asked to make a final adjustment... The same behavior you have here at stack overflow when you exit the editor... a confirm dialogue. This works so far, BUT, the confirm dialogue is shown twice. Here is the code. The event if (local.sync.autosave_textelement) { window.onbeforeunload = exitConfirm; } The function function exitConfirm() { var local = Core; if (confirm('blub?')) { local.sync.autosave_destroy = true; sync(false); return true; } else { return false; } }; Some problem irrelevant clarifications: Core is a global Object that contains a lot of variables that are used everywhere. sync makes an ajax request. The values are based on the values that the Core.sync object contains. The parameter determines if the call should be async (default) or sync. Edit 1 I did try to separate both things (recovery deletion and user confirmation that is) into beforeunload and unload. The problem there was that unload is a bit too late. The user gets informed that there is a recovery even though it is scheduled to be deleted. If you refresh the page 1 second later, the dialogue disappears as the file was deleted by then.
