  • Parsing a JSON Response from a .Net webservice

    - by Maskau
    Just to get this out in the open I am new to JAVA, KSOAP, and JSON. So I'll try to explain this the best I can. A while ago I created a webservice to be consumed by Blackberry Apps that we're built using the plug in for Visual Studio. Now the project I am working on, I want to consume the same webservice for Android devices. For the most part I have the base code for the Android app done and working. Here's my problem: I can successfully call the webservice and get a response. I know from creating the webservice that it sends a JSON response. My problem is trying to parse through the JSON response. I have found a few examples that I have been suiting to my needs however I am hung up on one thing. In the JSON each element is preceeded by "anyType" which is forcing my code to return no results (Ultimately I am binding the data to an ArrayList) Here's what I get if I "getProperty(0).toString()... anyType{Artist=anyType{TrackName=Champagne Supernova;}; Here is the code I am using to parse the JSON Object.... SoapObject gr = (SoapObject)envelope.getResponse(); String ro = gr.getProperty(0).toString(); //Added just to see structure of response Artist_Result.add(gr.toString()); if (ro.startsWith("{")) { JSONObject JSONObj = new JSONObject(ro); Iterator<String> itr = JSONObj.keys(); while (itr.hasNext()) { String key = (String)itr.next(); String value = JSONObj.getString(key); //bundleResult.putString(key, value); Artist_Result.add(value); } } else if (ro.startsWith("[")) { JSONArr = new JSONArray(ro); for (int i = 0; i < JSONArr.length(); i++) { JSONObj = (JSONObject)JSONArr.get(i); //bundleResult.putString(String.valueOf(i), JSONObj.toString()); Artist_Result.add(JSONObj.toString()); } } WebService Code: [WebMethod] [return: System.Xml.Serialization.XmlArrayItemAttribute(typeof(Artist))] public Artist[] GetArtist(string ArtistQuery) { // All the SQL Stuff Here SqlDataReader sReader; sReader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); List<Artist> Artists = new List<Artist>(); while (sReader.Read()) { Artist result = new Artist(); result.TrackName = sReader.GetString(0); Artists.Add(result); } sReader.Close(); sqlConn.Close(); return Artists.ToArray(); } public class Artist { public string TrackName; } Sample of XML Output from a browser: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> - <ArrayOfArtist xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://bb.mcrcog.com/"> - <Artist> <TrackName>Champagne Supernova</TrackName> </Artist> - <Artist> <TrackName>Don't Look Back In Anger</TrackName> </Artist> - <Artist> <TrackName>D'you Know What I Mean</TrackName> </Artist> - <Artist> <TrackName>Go Let It Out</TrackName> </Artist> I have a feeling I will need to implement a Class, and Getters/Setters on the Android side. I'm just not sure how to go about doing that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Zend Framework, Zend_Form_Element how to set custom name?

    - by ikso
    Hello, I have form, where some fields are looks like rows, so I can add/delete them using JS. For example: Field with ID=1 (existing row) <input id="id[1]" type="text" name="id[1]" value="1" /> <input id="name[1]" type="text" name="name[1]" value="100" /> Field with ID=2 (existing row) <input id="name[2]" type="text" name="name[2]" value="200" /> <input id="name[2]" type="text" name="name[2]" value="200" /> new row created by default (to allow add one more row to existing rows) <input id="id[n0]" type="text" name="id[n0]" value="" /> <input id="name[n0]" type="text" name="name[n0]" value="" /> new row created by JS <input id="id[n1]" type="text" name="id[n1]" value="" /> <input id="name[n1]" type="text" name="name[n1]" value="" /> So than we will proceed form, we will know what rows to update and what to add (if index starts with "n" - new, if index is number - existent element). I tried subforms... but do I have to create subform for each field? If I use following code: $subForm = new Zend_Form_SubForm(); $subForm->addElement('Text', 'n0'); $this->addSubForm($subForm, 'pid'); $subForm = new Zend_Form_SubForm(); $subForm->addElement('Text', 'n0'); $this->addSubForm($subForm, 'name'); What is the best way for this? 1) Use subforms? 2) Extend Zend/Form/Decorator/ViewHelper.php to use names like name[nX]? 3) Other solutions? Thanks.

  • Npgsql pass parameters by name to a stored function

    - by Jeff
    I'm working with code I'm converting to Pgsql working with .NET. I want to call a stored function that has several parameters, but I'd like to bind the parameters by name, like so: NpgsqlCommand command = new NpgsqlCommand("\"StoredFunction\"", _Connection) command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; command.Parameters.Add("param2", value2); command.PArameters.Add("param1", value1); Attempts to do this so far look for a function with parameter types matching in the order in which I added the parameters to the collection, not by name. Is it possible for Npgsql to bind parameters to stored functions by name?

  • jQuery Autocomplete using extraParams to pass additional GET variables

    - by paperclip
    I am referring specifically to the jQuery Autocomplete v1.1 plugin by Jörn Zaefferer [source: http://bassistance.de/jquery-plugins/jquery-plugin-autocomplete/] as there seems to be quite a few variations of this plugin. I'm trying to pass additional parameters to the server when the user starts typing because I have multiple fields that I want autocomplete to provide suggestions for. In addition to the query, I want to send the input name attribute to the server but I can't seem to use $(this).attr('name') within the extraParams. My jQuery: $('.ajax-auto input').autocomplete('search.php', { extraParams: { search_type: function(){ return $(this).attr('name'); } } }) This is my HTML. <form method="post" action="#" id="update-form" autocomplete="off"> <ol> <li class="ajax-auto"> <label for="form-initials">Initials</label> <input type="text" id="form-initials" name="initials" /> </li> <li class="ajax-auto"> <label for="form-company">Company</label> <input type="text" id="form-company" name="company" /> </li> </ol> </form> Any suggestions?

  • Adobe Flex Transparency not working on Button icon

    - by johnc
    I am fairly inexperienced with Flex, but my googling has retrieved nothing to suggest this is an obvious question. I have an mx:Button with an Icon on it that is a png file with a transparent background, as below, however the transparency is not working, and the icon is painted with a white background. <mx:Button label="Button" icon="@Embed(source='images/clearTracks.png')"/> I have seen how to use a ByteArrayImage to get a transparency working on an image, but this technique doesn't appear available for a button's icon property.

  • C# Using Reflection to copy base class properties

    - by David Liddle
    I would like to update all properties from MyObject to another using Reflection. The problem I am coming into is that the particular object is inherited from a base class and those base class property values are not updated. The below code copies over top level property values. public void Update(MyObject o) { MyObject copyObject = ... FieldInfo[] myObjectFields = o.GetType().GetFields( BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Public | BindingFlags.Instance); foreach (FieldInfo fi in myObjectFields) { fi.SetValue(copyObject, fi.GetValue(o)); } } I was looking to see if there were any more BindingFlags attributes I could use to help but to no avail.

  • Custom HTML attributes on SelectListItems in MVC2?

    - by blesh
    I have a need to add custom HTML attributes, specifically classes or styles to option tags in the selects generated by Html.DropDownFor(). I've been playing with it, and for the life of me I can't figure out what I need to do to get what I need working. Assuming I have a list of colors that I'm generating the dropdown for, where the option value is the color's identifier, and the text is the name... here's what I'd like to be able to see as output: <select name="Color"> <option value="1" style="background:#ff0000">Red</option> <option value="2" style="background:#00ff00">Green</option> <option value="3" style="background:#0000ff">Blue</option> <!-- more here --> <option value="25" style="background:#f00f00">Foo Foo</option> </select

  • ASP.NET MVC File Upload Error - "The input is not a valid Base-64 string"

    - by Justin
    Hey all, I'm trying to add a file upload control to my ASP.NET MVC 2 form but after I select a jpg and click Save, it gives the following error: The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding characters, or a non-white space character among the padding characters. Here's the view: <% using (Html.BeginForm("Save", "Developers", FormMethod.Post, new {enctype = "multipart/form-data"})) { %> <%: Html.ValidationSummary(true) %> <fieldset> <legend>Fields</legend> <div class="editor-label"> Login Name </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.LoginName) %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.LoginName) %> </div> <div class="editor-label"> Password </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.Password("Password") %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.Password) %> </div> <div class="editor-label"> First Name </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.FirstName) %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.FirstName) %> </div> <div class="editor-label"> Last Name </div> <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.LastName) %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.LastName) %> </div> <div class="editor-label"> Photo </div> <div class="editor-field"> <input id="Photo" name="Photo" type="file" /> </div> <p> <%: Html.Hidden("DeveloperID") %> <%: Html.Hidden("CreateDate") %> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </p> </fieldset> <% } %> And the controller: //POST: /Secure/Developers/Save/ [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Save(Developer developer) { //get profile photo. var upload = Request.Files["Photo"]; if (upload.ContentLength > 0) { string savedFileName = Path.Combine( ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["FileUploadDirectory"], "Developer_" + developer.FirstName + "_" + developer.LastName + ".jpg"); upload.SaveAs(savedFileName); } developer.UpdateDate = DateTime.Now; if (developer.DeveloperID == 0) {//inserting new developer.   • soapUI - any way to automatically generate input data?

    - by Graham Clark
    I've just started looking at soapUI, and it seems to be a pretty good web service testing tool. It can automatically generate request SOAP messages with all the elements from the WSDL in there, no problem. However, what would be splendid is if it could automatically generate sample random input data, using the WSDL as a guide. For example, if my service is expecting a string, an enumeration, and a date-time, it seems like it wouldn't be too hard for the tool to generate one or more messages with valid values. Is such a feature available in soapUI, either natively or as a plug-in, or am I over-simplifying this?

  • Get Layout Shape Corresponding to Slide Shape

    - by Ryan
    In PP2007 and using VBA, how can I get the placeholder shape on a Slide Master layout that is the "master" for a placeholder shape on the slide? I am currently using a loop to compare the position and size of the slide placeholder with the position and shape of each placeholder shape in the slide's layout, but this isn't fool-proof. For example, if the placeholder shape is moved on the slide, its position may no longer match the position of any placeholder shapes in the slide's layout. I could reapply the slide's layout to snap placeholders back into position, but that's not what I want to do. Something in the object model like "Shape.Master" would be ideal but, of course, that doesn't exist.

  • Modularizing web applications

    - by Matt
    Hey all, I was wondering how big companies tend to modularize components on their page. Facebook is a good example: There's a team working on Search that has its own CSS, javascript, html, etc.. There's a team working on the news feed that has its own CSS, javascript, html, etc... ... And the list goes on They cannot all be aware of what everyone is naming their div tags and whatnot, so what's the controller(?) doing to hook all these components in on the final page?? Note: This doesn't just apply to facebook - any company that has separate teams working on separate components has some logic that helps them out. EDIT: Thanks all for the responses, unfortunately I still haven't really found what I'm looking for - when you check out the source code (granted its minified), the divs have UIDs, my guess is that there is a compilation process that runs through and makes each of the components unique, renaming divs and css rules.. any ideas? Thanks all! Matt Mueller

  • SoapHttpClientProtocol disable ssl certificate validation

    - by MK
    I need to tell my C# soap web service consumer to not validate the certificate and just accept it. Is this possible? Why: we publish a https-only web service. A client needs to consume it but has some kind of firewall/proxy (WebSense?) which does something to the certificate to make it fail validation. At this point I don't even know the details of what it does, but the customer appears to be ok with forfeiting the benefits of SSL, so I'm looking for a workaround.

  • How do I use beta Perl modules from beta Perl scripts?

    - by DVK
    If my Perl code has a production code location and "beta" code location (e.g. production Perl code us in /usr/code/scripts, BETA Perl code is in /usr/code/beta/scripts; production Perl libraries are in /usr/code/lib/perl and BETA versions of those libraries are in /usr/code/beta/lib/perl, is there an easy way for me to achieve such a setup? The exact requirements are: The code must be THE SAME in production and BETA location. To clarify, to promote any code (library or script) from BETA to production, the ONLY thing which needs to happen is literally issuing cp command from BETA to prod location - both the file name AND file contents must remain identical. BETA versions of scripts must call other BETA scripts and BETA libraries (if exist) or production libraries (if BETA libraries do not exist) The code paths must be the same between BETA and production with the exception of base directory (/usr/code/ vs /usr/code/beta/) I will present how we solved the problem as an answer to this question, but I'd like to know if there's a better way.

I get an interesting error with this code: #include "boost/fusion/include/sequence.hpp" #include "boost/fusion/include/make_vector.hpp" #include "boost/fusion/include/insert.hpp" #include "boost/fusion/include/invoke_procedure.hpp" #include "boost/fusion/include/make_vector.hpp" #include <iostream> class Class1 { public: typedef boost::fusion::vector<int,float,float,char,int,int> SequenceType; SequenceType s; Class1(SequenceType v):s(v){} }; class Class2 { public: Class2(){} void met(int a,float b ,float c ,char d ,int e,int f) { std::cout << a << " " << b << " " << c << " " << d << " " << e << std::endl; } }; int main(int argn, char**) { Class2 p; Class1 t(boost::fusion::make_vector(9,7.66f,8.99f,'s',7,6)); boost::fusion::begin(t.s); //OK boost::fusion::insert(t.s, boost::fusion::begin(t.s), &p); //OK boost::fusion::invoke_procedure(&Class2::met,boost::fusion::insert(t.s, boost::fusion::begin(t.s), &p)); //FAILS } It fails to compile (gcc 4.4.1): In file included from /home/thechaos/Escriptori/of_preRelease_v0061_linux_FAT/addons/ofxTableGestures/ext/boost/fusion/include/invoke_procedur e.hpp:10, from problema concepte.cpp:11: /home/thechaos/Escriptori/of_preRelease_v0061_linux_FAT/addons/ofxTableGestures/ext/boost/fusion/functional/invocation/invoke_procedure.hpp: I n function ‘void boost::fusion::invoke_procedure(Function, const Sequence&) [with Function = void (Class2::*)(int, float, float, char, int, in t), Sequence = boost::fusion::joint_view<boost::fusion::joint_view<boost::fusion::iterator_range<boost::fusion::vector_iterator<const boost::f usion::vector<int, float, float, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_>, 0>, boost::fusion::vector_iterator<boost::fusion::vector<int, float, float, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fus ion::void_, boost::fusion::void_>, 0> >, const boost::fusion::single_view<Class2*> >, boost::fusion::iterator_range<boost::fusion::vector_iter ator<boost::fusion::vector<int, float, float, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion: :void_>, 0>, boost::fusion::vector_iterator<const boost::fusion::vector<int, float, float, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion ::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_>, 6> > >]’: problema concepte.cpp:39: instantiated from here /home/thechaos/Escriptori/of_preRelease_v0061_linux_FAT/addons/ofxTableGestures/ext/boost/fusion/functional/invocation/invoke_procedure.hpp:88 : error: incomplete type ‘boost::fusion::detail::invoke_procedure_impl<void (Class2::*)(int, float, float, char, int, int), const boost::fusio n::joint_view<boost::fusion::joint_view<boost::fusion::iterator_range<boost::fusion::vector_iterator<const boost::fusion::vector<int, float, f loat, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_>, 0>, boost::fusion::vector_itera tor<boost::fusion::vector<int, float, float, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion:: void_>, 0> >, const boost::fusion::single_view<Class2*> >, boost::fusion::iterator_range<boost::fusion::vector_iterator<boost::fusion::vector< int, float, float, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_>, 0>, boost::fusion: :vector_iterator<const boost::fusion::vector<int, float, float, char, int, int, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::void_, boost::fusion::voi d_, boost::fusion::void_>, 6> > >, 7, true, false>’ used in nested name specifier However, if I change the number of arguments in the vectors and the method from 6 to 5 from int,float,float,char,int,int to int,float,float,char,int,I can compile it without problems. I suspected about the maximum number of arguments being a limitation, but I tried to change it through defining FUSION_MAX_VECTOR_SIZE without success. I am unable to see what am I doing wrong. Can you reproduce this? Can it be a boost bug (i doubt it but is not impossible)?

  • iPhone locationManager:didFailWithError problem when GPS disabled

    - by BenG
    So, I've followed other related threads, but for some reason I'm still having this error and I'm about ready to tear my hair out. I have implemented locationManager:didFailWithError to check and see if a user selects 'Don't Allow' to use the current location. -(void)locationManager:(CLLocationManager *)manager didFailWithError:(NSError *)error { NSLog(@"IN ERROR"); if ([error code] == kCLErrorDenied){ [manager stopUpdatingLocation]; } } However, the following error always appears when the user selects 'Don't Allow'...it's strange, especially the order that the text 'IN ERROR' appears. ERROR,Time,293420691.000,Function,"void CLClientHandleDaemonDataRegistration(__CLClient*, const CLDaemonCommToClientRegistration*, const __CFDictionary*)",server did not accept client registration 1 2010-04-19 21:44:51.000 testApp[1414:207] IN ERROR So, it's outputting this error even before it has a chance to get into the didFailWithError function. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be happening? The rest of the locationManager code is as follows: self.locationManager = [[[CLLocationManager alloc] init] autorelease]; locationManager.delegate = self; locationManager.desiredAccuracy = kCLLocationAccuracyKilometer; locationManager.distanceFilter = 2; [locationManager startUpdatingLocation];

  • Set PageIndex of DataPager

    - by Barbosa
    I have a ListView that I am paging with a DataPager. I would like to set the initial page of the pager on Page_Load. I have tried the DataPager.SetPageProperties method but it's not doing what I need. Here's how I'm calling this method: dataPager.SetPageProperties(3, dataPager.TotalRowCount, false); The line above trims the datasource to start at the third item and paging still starts at 1. This is not what I want. I want to keep the entire list of items and just jump to a specific page in the list. Is there another Property and/or method of a DataPager and/or ListView that I should use? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
