  • C++: get const or non-const reference type from trait

    I am writing a functor F which takes function of type void (*func)(T) and func's argument arg. Then functor F calls func with arg. I would like F not to copy arg, just to pass it as reference. But then I cannot simply write "void F(void (*func)(T), T&)" because T could be a reference. So I am trying to write a trait, which allows to get proper reference type of T: T -> T& T& -> T& const T -> const T& const T& -> const T& I come up with something like this: template<typename T> struct type_op { typedef T& valid_ref_type; }; template<typename T> struct type_op<T&> { typedef typename type_op<T>::valid_ref_type valid_ref_type; }; template<typename T> struct type_op<const T> { typedef const T& valid_ref_type; }; template<typename T> struct type_op<const T&> { typedef const T& valid_ref_type; }; Which doesn't work for example for void a(int x) { std::cout << x << std::endl; } F(&a, 7); Giving error: invalid initialization of non-const reference of type ‘int&’ from a temporary of type ‘int’ in passing argument 2 of ‘void f(void (*)(T), typename type_op::valid_ref_type) [with T = int]’ How to get this trait to work?

I mean, link my admin interface to post news link my visitor interface on my website to the wordpress news so the visitor can access the news So the visitor never find out that i'm using wordpress to generate the news and handle their comments and write my news ? In other words all vertex's which have somewhere under them (on the way to the leaf nodes) one or more of the vertexs input. So if the vertexs were Nodes, and the edges were a depends on relationship, find all nodes that would be impacted by a given set of nodes. If not how hard is it to write one's own algorithms?

    I've seen questions to prefix zeros here in SO. But not the other way !! Can you guys suggest me how to remove the leading zeros in alphanumeric text. Are there any built-in APIs or do I need to write a method to trim the leading zero's?     I was wondering, is there some type of disc ID i can use to search in my database to see if that disc is has been scanned or not? All disc were created by me typically burnt on windows. -edit- I could compare write time and volume label to see if the disc has been scanned but i notice if i put in certain commercial disc that fields are blank or wrong causing many false positives (i once had the time set to the future, i dont know if people want to archive the contents of files on a commercial disc in my app).

    I would like to write my own LDAP client under Linux, specific to our local environment. Most probably I will use QT4 to provide a shiny frontend without much hassle. I found that there seems to be no standard C++ library for this. OpenLDAP provides a C API and there should also be a C++ API (experimental?) somewhere.. Do I need to use the C stuff or is there a C++ API out there worth of recommendation?

    What's a good way to keep counting up infinitely? I'm trying to write a condition that will keep going until there's no value in a database, so it's going to iterate from 0, up to theoretically infinity (inside a try block, of course). How would I count upwards infinitely? Or should I use something else? I am looking for something similar to i++ in other languages, where it keeps iterating until failure.
