how can I select data from MySQL based on date (unix time record)

I have a record of data with unix time date in it i want to select the row based on the date/month/year only (not with time) currently Im using something like this select * from tablename where date > '$today' and date < '$tomorow' LIMIT 1; how ever this is not that accurate if the $today and $tomorrow have different time (but same date) is there any better way to do this?

Object to Network serialization - with an existing protocol

I'm writing a client for a server program written in C++. As is not unusual, all the networking protocol is in a format where packets can be easily memcopied into/out of a C++ structure (1 byte packet code, then different arrangements per packet type). I could do the same thing in C#, but is there an easier way, especially considering lots of the data is fixed-length char arrays that I want to play with as strings? Or should I just suck it up and convert types as needed? I've looked at using the ISerializable interface, but it doesnt look as low level as is required.

Is it possible, from an App Engine application, to grab resources inside my corporate intranet without using HTTP(S)? From what I read in the documentation, the only way to request resources through SDC is by using url_fetch, which is limited to HTTP, right?

Does it copy and paste from mfg spec sheet, enters it in their own fields or something else? I expect any good program should do all their reads and writes in a loop until all data written/read without relying that write will write everything (even with regular files). Am I right? Implemented simple FUSE filesystem which only allows reading and writing with small buffers, very often returning that it is written less bytes that in a buffer (using -o direct_io). Some programs work, some not. Are them buggy or programs should not expect truncated writes and reads from the regular files?

Best practices and Design Patterns for iPhone forms?

Part of the app I'm making requires the user to fill in a multi-page form, the contents of which will be saved locally (perhaps using Core Data). Are there any best practices for this? This form just includes text fields. I guess the options are UITextFields, or perhaps a UIWebView, with the fields as part of an html form? Are there are any best practices, or design patterns, which are good for this kind of thing?

I have sucessfuly implemented basic CRUD methods and I have no moved onto my DeepLoads. Every Customer has a physical address and an optional mailing address. What is your preferred way to model this? Option 1. Customer has foreign key to Address Customer (id, phys_address_id, mail_address_id) Address (id, street, city, etc.) Option 2. Customer has one-to-many relationship to Address, which contains a field to describe the address type Customer (id) Address (id, customer_id, address_type, street, city, etc.) Option 3. Address information is de-normalized and stored in Customer Customer (id, phys_street, phys_city, etc. mail_street, mail_city, etc.) One of my overriding goals is to simplify the object-relational mappings, so I'm leaning towards the first approach. What are your thoughts?
