  • Refferenced by projects .net 4.0 assemblies have no IL. How? and What for?

    There is something I don't understand. Today I desided to find out what is inside Sistem.Web.dll version 4.0.0.0 So I decided to find the place where this assembly located. and opened this assembly with reflector - all methods were empty - and then with ilDasm from 7.0 SDK. This what I saw After some research I've found fullfeatured assemblies in gac. Actualy here C:\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_v4.0.30319_32\System.Web\82087f17d3b3f9c493e7261d608a6af4 They are much larger in size. So why does references goes not to the gac, but to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework.NETFramework\v4.0\ Why don't they have IL inside? How does it works? Mabe I don't understand something.

  • Setting a session variable in Global.asax causes AJAX errors

    I'm getting a very peculiar problem with my asp.net application, it took me an age to track down but I still don't know what is causing this behaviour. If I set a session variable in the Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute event, then my external JavaScript files are ignored, and therfore causing a raft of errors. I have simplified the problem below. E.g. I have file called JScript.js containing the code: function myAlert() { alert("Hi World"); } And in my Default.aspx file I reference the js with the code: <script src="JScript.js" type="text/javascript"></script> And in the body onload event I call the myAlert() function: <body onload="myAlert()"> And finally in the Global.asax file: Private Sub Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) HttpContext.Current.Session("myVar") = "MyValue" End Sub If you run the Default.aspx file you will see the js function isnt called, however, if you comment out the line of code Global.asax then the external js is called and the function executed when the page loads. Why is this?

  • How do you pass variables to class_eval in ruby?

    I'm working on a metaprogramming task, where I'm trying to use a single method to define a polymorphic association in the calling class, while also defining the association in the target class. I need to pass in the name of the calling class to get the association right. I am trying to convert to from an item array to the list using the following piece of code: Item variationsFolder = masterDB.SelectSingleItem(VariationsFolderID.ToString()); List<Item> variationList = variationsFolder.GetChildren().ToList<Item>(); However I keep getting this error whenever I try to build: 'Sitecore.Collections.ChildList' does not contain a definition for 'ToList' and the best extension method overload 'System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList<TSource>(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<TSource>)' has some invalid arguments I have the following usings: using System.Linq; using System.Xml.Linq; Am referencing: System.Core I've just copied this code from another location, so it should work fine, can only think that there is something simple (like a reference or something that I am missing).

It uses restricted APIs, so I obtained a key from RIM and applied it via the Java Development Environment. When I attempt to run on my phone (BB Curve, 8520. OS: 4.6.1), it shows an error saying "'ConstituentC' attempts to access a secure API." The following is shown in the BB Event Log: Java Exception: Error starting ConstituentC: Module 'ConstituentC' attempts to access a secure API.   • How to enable Line numbering in Visual Studio

    Why doesn't VS have any sort of line numbering? Is there any way to enable it, or a plugin for it? I know, the number of lines of code in a program doesn't matter, but sometimes it is nice to know how long a program is, or what line number something is for reference. I can't seem to find that as an option anywhere, to my surprise. Thanks for the help! This is Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate. (if you have read my older questions, I've been using 2008 Express until now.)

  • What does <project> is obsolete mean?

    My batch build has a project, lets call it 'My.Project'. That project got up-reved to .NET 3.5 (from .NET 1.1) in its own standalone project (meaning its not part of this batch build). Most of it is the same, there are calls that were upgraded, features added/removed. I go to start replacing all calls that all the other projects use to that, now old, project with new calls. I first remove the old reference and then add the new one. One of my projects only has one call. When I go to make the changes, one namespace in the new project throws a 'My.Project.Namespace1 is obsolete' while another call to that project throws nothing. Is there something I should be looking for? What would be causing this?

I followed Android Developer's site reference to use: "geo:latitude,longitude" pattern. the log that you see prints: Launching Google Maps with Uri: (geo:40763500,-73979305) anyone knows what can be the problem?

  • Asp.Net 3.5 Routing to Webservice?

    I was looking for a way to route http://www.example.com/WebService.asmx to http://www.example.com/service/ using only the ASP.NET 3.5 Routing framework without needing to configure the IIS server. Until now I have done what most tutorials told me, added a reference to the routing assembly, configured stuff in the web.config, added this to the Global.asax: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RouteCollection routes = RouteTable.Routes; routes.Add( "WebService", new Route("service/{*Action}", new WebServiceRouteHandler()) ); } ...created this class: public class WebServiceRouteHandler : IRouteHandler { public IHttpHandler GetHttpHandler(RequestContext requestContext) { // What now? } } ...and the problem is right there, I don't know what to do. The tutorials and guides I've read use routing for pages, not webservices. Is this even possible? Ps: The route handler is working, I can visit /service/ and it throws the NotImplementedException I left in the GetHttpHandler method.

  • Decoding subsampled bitmaps in Android

    I decode bitmaps from the SD card using BitmapFactory.decodeFile. Sometimes the bitmaps are bigger than what the application needs or that the heap allows, so I use BitmapFactory.Options.inSampleSize to request a subsampled (smaller) bitmap. The problem is that the platform does not enforce the exact value of inSampleSize, and I sometimes end up with a bitmap either too small, or still too big for the available memory. From http://developer.android.com/reference/android/graphics/BitmapFactory.Options.html#inSampleSize: Note: the decoder will try to fulfill this request, but the resulting bitmap may have different dimensions that precisely what has been requested. Also, powers of 2 are often faster/easier for the decoder to honor. How should I decode bitmaps from the SD card to get a bitmap of the exact size I need while consuming as little memory as possible to decode it?

  • C# dbml stops linking tables to code

    I am having occasional trouble with my C# dbml where it starts not linking properly. I do not know how to replicate the exact cause of the problem, it was working perfectly until I changed a database table and then deleted the table and readded it with the new schema. The error message I get is "The type or namespace name 'tbl' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) The only fix I have found is to make a new dbml readd the tables. Any ideas what to do or why this is happening?

Then the presenter calls View.Init to pass himself to the view.     We develop a WinForm application using Scintilla.NET (1.7) component, which uses SciLexer.dll (unamnaged). At run-time, we distribute both 32bit and 64bit SciLexer.dll, and we load the correct one when the application starts (everything works fine). What is a process and an event loop more precisely?     You can define a class in a namespace like this class Gem class SystemExitException end end or class Gem::SystemExitException end When code uses first method of class definition, ctags indexes the class definition like this: SystemExitException test_class.rb /^ class SystemExitException$/;" c class:Gem With the second way, ctags indexes it like this: Gem rubygems/exceptions.rb /^class Gem::SystemExitException < SystemExit$/;" c The problem with the second way is that you can't put your cursor (in vim) over a reference to "Gem::SystemExitException" and have that jump straight to the class definition. Your only recourse is to page through all the (110!) class definitions that start with "Gem::" and find the one you're looking for. Does anyone know of a workaround? Maybe I should report this to the maintainer of ctags?

    I upgraded to Visual Studio 2010 RC, and I remember filling one big form for MSDN help improvement campaign and I was wondering I will get to see a Help Viewer like MSDN included in Visual Studio 2008, which included One Program (Not IE), Index and the way to view preferred language setting. Google results shows that there were headlines that Microsoft Help Viewer released for 2010 RC, but where is it? is it the same one which opens in IE and has absolute difficult way to view it? Current MSDN opening in IE is so inconvenient, there is no index, there is no grouping of content, like I typed search for TextBox and it showed up for ASP.NET, WinForms and I got lost to find out the reference in multiple pages for search results.

  • How To: Referencing LAPACK library from FORTRAN 95 in Cygwin

    I have a FORTRAN 95 program that needs to make some calls to the LAPACK library. I recently found out that Cygwin because it can install LAPACK as an extra option. Well, LAPACK exists in the /lib/lapack/ directory as "cyglapack.dll". Having only a very informal training in Fortran programming, I have no idea how to reference a .dll library as opposed to a .mod module. Any suggestions or directions to articles answering my question are GREATLY appreciated! (P.S. I did search first.. I don't think I know the proper terms to get a useful article.)

    Hello Everyone, I have an existing C# 3.0 WinForms project with .NET 3.5 that talks to a MySQL database. I would like to use data binding (I'm new to this, so I've been doing all of the UI updates manually) to simplify things. I followed a link from this question to this article which mentions using a DataSet but also follows up with "my view on this topic is strongly in favor of Business Objects." Also that was with .NET 2.0. What are the current methods to use data binding with a WinForms application? What are their advantages in terms of simplicity, how much additional code is necessary, etc. For reference, I use an ORM approach to build objects with public properties from a database. I want to map these properties for each object onto UI elements like TextBoxes. There could be many properties for an object so I want to simplify the code to do this.

Range parameter determines the size of html fragment. Not sure what trim 0 does.

  • Combining deflate and minify - am i creating overhead?

    I minify my css and js files on the fly with google.codes minify. I have also set my .htaccess to use deflate on all my css and js files - the reason beeing some js files (like shadowbox and tinymce) reference to other js files in the code. So i'm compressing with apache deflate and also minify compresses some js and css files with gzip - am i creating overhead by doing this - first gzipping (minify) and then zlib (deflate) will run through again. Or will apache deflate ignore the already gzipped files having the attributes set by minify in the headers. Anyone have any experiences with this?

  • How to associate node with products in Drupal/Ubercart

    I am looking for a way to allow users to add node reference to each product or whole cart @ checkout. I am making web site where users can buy items and then receive them on board flight. Products are fixed, but user needs to tell for which flight he is buying items. Flights are nodes and users has flagged these nodes so there is no problem making View with users flagged flight nodes. How would I associate one of these nodes with purchase? Nodereference from CCK would be cool, but checkout is probably not node. Any suggestions for approach?

  • struct method linking

    I'm updating some old code that has several POD structs that were getting zero'd out by memset (don't blame me...I didn't write this part). Part of the update changed some of them to classes that use private internal pointers that are now getting wiped out by the memset. So I added a [non-virtual] reset() method to the various structs and refactored the code to call that instead. One particular struct developed an "undefined reference to `blah::reset()'" error. Changing it from a struct to a class fixed the error. Calling nm on the .o file h, the mangled function names for that method look the same (whether it's a class or a struct). I'm using g++ 4.4.1, on Ubuntu. I hate the thought that this might be a compiler/linker bug, but I'm not sure what else it could be. Am I missing some fundamental difference between structs and classes? I thought the only meaningful ones were the public/private defaults and the way everyone thinks about them.
