  • Unicode special characters - Dingbats - Appear differently in Firefox vs. Chrome/IE

    Hi there, I'm trying to find a way to make dingbats appear exactly the same in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE. I noticed that the Dingbats appear the same in IE/Chrome/Safari, HOWEVER - in Firefox - they look "thiner". For example - try to visit the following page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingbat You'll notice that when viewing that page in Firefox - the characters look different in comparison to Chrome/IE. Does anybody know why and how can I cause Firefox to display the characters EXACTLY like they appear in Chrome/IE? Thx, Oren.

    Hey, I was looking at the Google Map API for the first time and I had a quick question. I am woking on an Android application and I was wondering if there is a good way to take a route that I have created using Google Maps (snapping to roads) and use the API display this route on an Android application? I see that there is a way to generate images overlayed with polylines created with coordinates but it seems like it would be tought to create a polyline for something like a curved road. Thanks, Rob

  • FileReference.load() not populating FileReference.data.

    I am trying to use the load method of FileReference object to load the data and use it to display a thumbnail of the selected image. However, after calling fr.load(), fr.data remains null. I'm using Flex Builder 3.0.2 on Windows 7 with Flex SDK 3.4 and Flash Player 10 Debug. If I evaluate fr.load() in Eclipse's watch variables list, I get an error reading "No such variable: load." Anyone know why this is happening?

    I have a C# system using 160 bit numbers, stored in a BigInteger. I want to display these things on a circle, which means mapping the 0-2^160 range into the 0-2Pi range. How would I do this? The approach that jumps instantly to mind is angle = (number / pow(2, 160)) * TwoPi; However, that has complexities because the division will truncate the result into an integer.

    Given this POCO class that was automatically generated by an EntityFramework T4 template (has not and can not be manually edited in any way): public partial class Customer { [Required] [StringLength(20, ErrorMessage = "Customer Number - Please enter no more than 20 characters.")] [DisplayName("Customer Number")] public virtual string CustomerNumber { get;set; } [Required] [StringLength(10, ErrorMessage = "ACNumber - Please enter no more than 10 characters.")] [DisplayName("ACNumber")] public virtual string ACNumber{ get;set; } } Note that "ACNumber" is a badly named database field, so the autogenerator is unable to generate the correct display name and error message which should be "Account Number". How do I force WPF to render the text that gets displayed with drop shadow effect to retain Cleartype anti-aliasing, instead of that ugly blurry gray sub-pixel anti-aliasing? Some believe it's blurry because of the drop shadow -- this is not true. It's blurry only because ClearType is not used. This is how it looks like in Firefox when shadow AND ClearType: ClearType enabled text is colorful -- but that blurry text is not, because it does not use ClearType -- it uses gray sub-pixel anti-aliasing and that's not how ClearType works: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ClearType The question is: how do I enable ClearType for this text?

  • WPF, ShowGridLines equivalent for wrap panel

    I need to display a 1 pixel wide border around all wrap panel cells, kinda like excel grid. Unfortunately the wrap panel does not implement the grid ShowGridLines property. I can't put a border inside every cell because adjacent cells will have a 2 pixel border instead of 1 pixel. Since the wrap panel arranges it's layout dynamically and does not expose it's properties I can't evaluate the correct value for a border inside a cell. Any workaround possible?

But I remember many years ago having one which was less than 40 bytes. Could have been 32 bytes. Can anyone do better? Graphics format is no concern as long as modern web browsers can display it and respect the transparency.
