  • Load local Html file doesn't refer the js file in UIWebView

    - by Hero Vs Zero
I am working with UIWebView project and I want to load an HTML file from a project resource. It is working fine when I run from the URL, but when I view the HTML file locally, JS files are not loaded. Loading the local HTML local file doesn't refer to js files in UIWebView. Here's my code to load the HTML file project local resource and does't refer the js file: NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"textfile" ofType:@"txt"]; NSError *error = nil; NSString *string = [[NSString alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:path encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&error]; NSString *path1 = [[NSBundle mainBundle] bundlePath]; NSURL *baseURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:path1]; NSLog(@"%@ >>> %@",baseURL,path); [webview loadHTMLString:string baseURL:baseURL]; This code doesn't find JS files in UIWebView, even though it loads image files from the project resource successfully.

Is this the right manner to change its image (i do it several times during the game) ? Thanks for your ideas

  • How to retrieve the location of a control on the view?

    - by amok
I have a button on a view, I want to add another button next to it when the first button is touched. Therefore I need it's top left corner to do the math. Here's what is puzzling me greatly: // this code is executed when the button is pressed NSLog(@"X:%f",moreButton.frame.origin.x); that returns on the first and second click the followings: 2010-04-24 22:58:25.883 iPad PopOver[8095:40b] X:-1.999002 2010-04-24 22:58:25.884 iPad PopOver[8095:40b] Y:0.000000 why and how can I get the x,y of an existing button on the view? (button created via IB) Thanks! mE ps: I have looked at similar posts and my code looks fine but I keep getting zeros (it's an ipad app if matters in any way)

  • How to search for a string including spaces in Objective C?

    - by AlexCu
I have a real basic command-line program, in Objective-C, that searches for user inputed information. Unfourtunately, the code will only read the first word in series of words that the user enters. For example, if the user enters in "Apples are great", only "Apples" is kept (and hence searched later on), excluding the "are great" part of the sentence. Here's what I have so far: char enteredQuery [128]; // array 'name' to hold the scanf string NSString *searchQuery; // ending NSString to hold and compare the user inputed data NSLog(@"Enter search query:"); scanf("%s", enteredQuery); //will read the next line searchQuery = [NSString stringWithCString: enteredQuery encoding: NSASCIIStringEncoding]; //converts scanf data into a NSString type I know it's got to do with me using scanf or the character-encoder conversion, but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help in solving the problem is very appreciated! Thanks.

  • Creating and releasing objects in the same method, while using self as delegate

    - by user200341
In objective-c you are responsible for releasing objects you allocate, but what happens when you allocate an object in a method, assign self as the objects delegate, and then release the object. The callbacks from the newly created (and released) object fails at this point, or rather, doesn't happen. - (void)doSomething { MyObj *myObj = [[MyObj alloc] init]; myObj.delegate = self; [myObj performOperation]; [myObj release]; } - (void)callbackMethodFromMyObj:(NSString *)message { NSLog(message); } I can't release the object until the callback has occurred, and I can't avoid releasing the object in the same method that creates it (because it exists outside the scope). One way of doing it would be to pass the object along in the call-back and release it in the callback, but is this the right way to go about this?

  • Objective C: App freezes when using a timer

    - by Chris
It took me hours to figure out how to implement a timer into my program, but when it runs, the app doesn't load completely as it did before the timer. In my main.m: int main (int argc, const char * argv[]) { NSAutoreleasePool * pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; OutLauncher *theLauncher = [[OutLauncher alloc] init]; NSTimer *theTimer = [theLauncher getTimer]; [theTimer retain]; [[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] addTimer: theTimer forMode: NSDefaultRunLoopMode]; [[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] run]; [pool release]; return 0; } The file OutLauncher is being imported into that, which looks like this: - (void)doStuff { NSLog( @"Doing Stuff"); } - (NSTimer *)getTimer{ NSTimer *theTimer; theTimer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:1.0 target:self selector: @selector(doStuff) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; return [theTimer autorelease]; } The timer works, the console updates every second with the phrase "doing stuff" but the rest of the program just won't load. It will if I comment out the code I added to int main though

  • Problem mapping data located in a NSMutableArray

    - by Graeme
I have an NSMutableArray which contains some addresses which I need to map using Apple's MapKit SDK which I can't seem to get to load. The NSLog keeps telling me that the data source is (null) and a 0x0 error displays when I attempt to print out the array. Any ideas? The data is parsed and stored from another class, perhaps I'm not linking it across properly? The data is originally gathered from an RSS feed, bought into the app with an IMporter class, and then displayed in a table view. I want to be able to connect into that data with my mapping class, but am struggling to do so.

  • How do I get the users location latitude and longitude?

    - by kevin Mendoza
I need to access the users location in this method contained in the mainViewController -(void)loadAnnotations{ [mapView removeAnnotations:mapView.annotations]; CLLocationCoordinate2D workingCoordinate; workingCoordinate.latitude= //here i need the users latitude workingCoordinate.longitude= //here i need the users longitude NSLog(@" this is %@", workingCoordinate.latitude); iProspectLiteAnnotation *tempMine = [[iProspectLiteAnnotation alloc] initWithCoordinate:workingCoordinate]; [tempMine setTitle:@"Present Location"]; [tempMine setAnnotationType:iProspectLiteAnnotationTypeUser]; [mapView addAnnotation:tempMine]; } however the mainViewController is already set to <fipsideViewControllerDelegate> What should I add to the header file and the implementation file to poll the location Manager for the users current latitude and longitude?

  • How can I access the int values of an object in an NSMutableArray?

    - by Daniel
I try to access some values in a NSMutableArray I created, but I only get some numbers (address?) if I try to access them. I was able to initialize an array and can add and change objects with [myNSMutableArray addObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:10]] and [myNSMutableArray replaceObjectAtIndex:0 withObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:47] I also can print the value at index [0] with NSLog(@"%@", [myNSMutableArray objectAtIndex:0]); and I get 47 as expected. But how can I access the integer value of the object in the array so I can save it tomyIntValue?

  • Simple addView problem

    - by Buyin Brian
Hi there. I have a simple addView problem that is driving me nuts, I know I am overlooking something simple, perhaps another set of eyes can help. I have a Nib with a view that has a class identity set to TestView In my view controller, I use the following code: CGRect myRect = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320,240); TestView *myTest = [[TestView alloc] initWithFrame:myRect]; [self.view addSubview:myTest]; I have a NSLog in the TestView class's initWithFrame that fires when the above code is executed, but the view doesn't appear in the view controllers view. Thanks for your help.

  • UILabel with custom font displays *wrong* custom font

    - by winsmith
I'm using this method to embed custom fonts in my iPhone app. The embedding works: When I run the following code, the fonts are listed. (Currently, I'm embedding all family members of Myriad Pro in OTF format) for( NSString *familyName in [UIFont familyNames] ){ for( NSString *fntName in [UIFont fontNamesForFamilyName:familyName] ){ NSLog(@"%@", fntName); }} When I try to set the font of a label to MyriadPro or MyriadPro-Bold, this works just as expected. However, when I set the font to MyriadPro-BoldCond, the label is still set in MyriadPro-Bold instead of the condensed version. (The font names are correct, I checked.) My Code: [recommendationLabel setFont:[UIFont fontWithName:@"MyriadPro-BoldCond" size:140]]; recommendationLabel.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = YES; What's the deal?

  • Xcode automatically converts the object to NSArray

    - by Farrukh Javeid
    I have been working on an app and during the development, I am facing a very strange problem. I have a NSMutableArray tempSortedArray, which is full of objects of Store types. All the objects are valid as I can see them in my GUI, the problem arises when I iterate through the array, at index 90, which can be generally anyone, the XCode converts the Store object to NSMutableArray object. Any idea, why this is happening. This is the code to check out what I am doing: NSSortDescriptor *sortDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"cashBack" ascending:NO]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [NSArray arrayWithObject:sortDescriptor]; NSArray *sortedArray = [storesArray sortedArrayUsingDescriptors:sortDescriptors]; for (int i = 0; i < [tempSortedArray count]; i++) { Store *currentStore = [tempSortedArray objectAtIndex:i]; NSLog(@"store class: %@", [currentStore.class description]); if (currentStore.cashBackTypeString != (id)[NSNull null]) { //do whatever is required to do here }

  • Adding an integer onto an array

    - by Ohmnastrum
    I'm trying to add random numbers onto the end of this array when ever I call this function. I've narrowed it down to just this so far. when ever I check to see if anything is in the array it says 0. So now i'm quite stumped. I'm thinking that MutableArray releases the contents of it before I ever get to use them. problem is I don't know what to use. A button calls the function and pretty much everything else is taken care of its just this portion inside the function. NSMutableArray * choices; -(void) doSomething { int r = arc4random() % 4; //The problem... [choices addObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:r]]; int anInt = [[choices objectAtIndex:1] integerValue]; NSLog(@"%d", anInt); //I'm getting nothing no matter what I do. //some type of loop that goes through the array and displays each element //after it gets added }

  • WebView not responding when called from a method

    - by AragornSG
I have an app with tabbar and webview. I'm trying to make the app come back to default url each time user taps the bar. Right now I'm intercepting taps and launching a method, however it's not affecting my webview. The same syntax for calling webview from awakeFromNib works, so I don't have a clue what's up. I suspect it's something to do with how I call the method, but I don't know what. Here is the code: #import "SecondViewController.h" @implementation SecondViewController - (void)awakeFromNib { NSString *loadURL = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://pageurl"]; // [secondView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:loadURL]]]; SecondViewController *ptr = [[SecondViewController alloc] init]; [ptr goToPage]; } - (void) goToPage { NSLog(@"go to page"); NSString *newURL = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://pageurl"]; [secondView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:newURL]]]; } Thanks fot your help!

  • cannot use Debug with old Xcode 3.1

    - by OhHenry
I have a mac os x application, which was developed in Xcode 3.3.1, now I need to re-develop it. Of course, I cannot build it in the newest Xcode 4.5, and it's hard for me to change the settings to make it work in Xcode 4.5. So I downloaded the Xcode 3.3.1, it builds ok. But I just cannot use the debugging. The nslog can display normally in the console. I need to debug. Anyone know how to fix it?

  • Detect when home button is pressed iOS

    - by nick
I have several iOS apps that all use the same port to listen for a network beacon. On the main view I use viewWillDisappear to close the port when another view is opened, which was working great. Then I noticed if I pressed the home button from the main view controller without opening another view to close the port, then the port stays open and non of my other apps can listen on that port any more. I then tried using viewWillUnload, but that doesn't seem to get called when I press the home button. -(void)viewWillUnload { //[super viewWillUnload]; NSLog(@"View will unload"); [udpSocket close]; udpSocket = nil; } View will unload is never displayed in the console, which leads me to believe that the method is never getting called. Is there a way to detect when the home button is pressed so I can close my port?
