  • Are there any tools for monitoring individual Apache virtual hosts in real-time?

    I'm looking for a way to monitor and record Apache traffic, separated by virtual host. I am currently using Munin to capture this and other data for the entire server however I can't seem to find a way to do this by vhost. This link describes using a module called mod_watch which is apparently no longer in development: http://www.freshnet.org/wordpress/2007/03/08/monitoring-apaches-virtualhost-with-munin/ The file that is listed as being compatible with Apache 2.x is reported to have problems with missing vhosts an reporting data correctly. Does anyone know of a reliable way to determine real-time traffic per vhost? If I can find this it should be easy enough to write a new Munin plugin. Edit: What I'd really like to see is something similar to the Apache server-status scoreboard page with the number of connections / requests separated by virtual host. This would give me the ability to check which vhost may be experiencing a spike in traffic in real time and would also provide the data needed for a Munin module (or some alternative performance monitoring / analysis system.)

  • Fact or fiction: Webkit’s rendering performance is much lower when used in Qt

    Using Qt’s Webkit implementation renders much slower than directly implementing the Webkit engine -- is this true or just a myth? From my own experience, I found the load time of a complex page about twice as long in Qt’s “Fancy Browser” example as it does in Google Chrome (which also incorporates a port of Webkit), but I hardly think that is a fair comparison. Any insights on this?

    Here is the .rb program: require 'watir' b = Watir::Browser.new the 2nd line will trigger a ""The program can't start because msvcrt-ruby18.dll is missing from your computer!" error. How do I achieve a fluid layout where it simply resizes when the display is smaller. I read a few articles @ alistapart and made my containing div relative to the browser window and every other div within the d container relative and still nothing. any clues on what else I should be trying?

    I am implementing a WCF service, with a Silverlight 3 client, which uses a PollingDuplexHttpBinding for communications. What are the alternatives for handling when a client closes their browser without disconnecting from the server first? I know that it will eventually throw a TimeoutException, which I can catch, but is there a better way of detecting this? Thanks.

  • IE7 Image float bug.

    Hi , While validating my CSS on http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/ I am getting following errors: 1.Property zoom doesn't exist : 1 1. 2.Property -webkit-transition doesn't exist : all 200ms ease-in all 200ms ease-in 3.Property opacity doesn't exist in CSS level 2.1 4.Property -moz-border-radius doesn't exist 5.Property -webkit-border-radius doesn't exist Is it really required to validate the MarkUp and CSS completely for SEO or these errors which mostly are browser specific can be ignored for now. If these errors have to removed can someone please suggest the way to do so also.

  • slow query logging in mysql server

    Hi I have installed MySQL Community Edition 5.1.41 on a windows 2000 server. In my.ini file I have enabled slow query logging and have redirected the output to a table.I have set the long_query_time to 10 seconds. Then after running some queries I checked up the slow query log table and found that all the queries which were executed have been logged and a file called database-slow.log has also been created in the data folder. Can anybody please tell me where I am going wrong. I am using the inbuilt innodb and not activated the innodb plugin. Thanks

  • Streaming Video with Blackberry Simulator

    So, I wrote a quick little app for the iphone that takes in an http URL, and plays the .mp4 video located at that URL (it does more than that, of course, but that's the meat of it). Naturally, I wanted to have it on more than just a single mobile platform, so I decided to target Blackberry next. However, I'm running into a lot of problems with the Blackberry Environment. First of all, I learn that I can only download 256k files! I learn how to set that variable in my MDS simulator (and learn that this is NOT a production solution, because any end users will have to have their BES or MDS admin change the setting there). Then, I find a video less than 2 MB I can practice with. Going to the browser prompts me to save the video (rather than it playing in the browser like I expected). After saving the video, it refuses to play, saying it's the wrong format. So. I can't find a reference to IF Blackberry can stream with HTTP (i"ve heard it CAN use RTSP, though, and heard some rumors that it can't use HTTP, which would really suck). I also can't find a reference to what format blackberry uses (although I can find a million programs that will convert one file to the 'blackberry' format). Surely SOMEONE must have tried to stream video with the blackberry before. How did they go about doing so? Is it just a hopeless pipedream? Will I have to go with RTSP? Sorry for the lack of a concrete question...I'm just really lost, and I hate how so many tutorials or forum posts seem to assume I know the capabilities of the Blackberry... Edit: I finally found out that the .3gp (which I'd never heard of ) format is what Blackberry uses. Still have no idea how to stream videos off the web, though.     hi people, i just want an Action to print a barcode image, but i can´t get this working in MVC, i just do the following: public function barcodeAction() { $this->_helper->layout->disableLayout(); $this->_helper->viewRenderer->setNoRender(); Zend_Barcode::render($_GET['barcodeType'], 'image', $_GET, $_GET); } but when I call /barcode?barcodeType=code39&text=ZEND-FRAMEWORK I just obtain: "The image couldn't be displayed because it has errors" (or something like that, browser-dependant).   • ForwardAgent in Jenkins

    I'm trying to enable ForwardAgent in the "Publish over SSH" Jenkins Plugin. This would allow jenkins to execute deployments, rsyncs and svn+ssh checkouts on remote servers. But there's no option for this in the GUI. ForwardAgent is set to yes in /etc/ssh/ssh_config and in /var/lib/jenkins/.ssh/config, but when Jenkins jobs login over ssh, the remote session does not have the key loaded in agent. ("Could not open a connection to your authentication agent.") Is there a way to force ForwardAgent, or a better way to do this (via a Jenkins slave)? Thanks for any ideas, much appreciated!

I know that this must be done with return File method, but I haven't successfully create the method :(

  • SMTP Server Times Out for 1 of 2 ISPs

    For months I've been using a 5g sprint card for my laptop to check email. I have gmail, and three other accounts all configured in Thunderbird. Recently, I got AT&T internet service at my house and I discovered that I cannot send email when connected to my home service. I can receive just fine, but I can't send. If I plugin my 5g card, I can sent/receive with no problems. At home I'm connected wirelessly through a router. What could be causing this interruption? I even tried pinging my smtp server only to see it timeout when connected via AT&T. If more details are needed, I'll be happy to share.

    What HTML APIs are available for touch screen devices (e.g. tablet PCs)? I notice that GMail's iPad interface (and other mobile interfaces) doesn't scroll down in a normal web browser (pretending to be an iPad via a user-agent hack). How can one access this API on a PC? I have a school full of tablet PCs that aren't wonderful in tablet mode due to lack of application support, but there looks to be an increasing number of web-based apps that will fill this gap.

    When using the grep plugin to VIM, I can search the current directory for all occurrences of a string within a set of files, like this: :grep Ryan *.txt This outputs something like this: file1.txt:3:Ryan was here file2.txt:10:Ryan likes VIM file3.txt:5:superuser.com is a fav of Ryan (1 of 3): Ryan was here Press ENTER or type command to continue If I press enter, it just takes me back to my editor. What I really want to do is be able to open up one of those files and jump to the place where the string was found. Is there a way to do this? The 1 of 3 part makes me think there's a way to tab through the results, but I don't know what commands are available to me. Can anybody shed some light on this?
