• Exchange Web Service (EWS) call fails under ASP.NET but not a console application

  I'm getting an error when I attempt to connect to Exchange Web Services via ASP.NET. The following code works if I call it via a console application but the very same code fails when executed on a ASP.NET web forms page. Just as a side note, I am using my own credentials throughout this entire code sample. "When making a request as an account that does not have a mailbox, you must specify the mailbox primary SMTP address for any distinguished folder Ids." I thought I might be able to fix the issue by specifying an impersonated user. exchangeservice.ImpersonatedUserId = new ImpersonatedUserId(ConnectingIdType.SmtpAddress, "[email protected]"); But then I get a different error. "The account does not have permission to impersonate the requested user." The App Pool that the web application is running under is also my own account (same as the console application) so I have no idea what might be causing this issue. I am using .NET framework 3.5.   I'm implementing continuous integration with CruiseControl.NET, .NET 4.0, NCover and MsTest. On the build server I'm unable to run code coverage from the Ncover explorer or NCover console. When I run where vstesthost.exe from the Ncover console it returns the Visual Studio 9.0 path and does not seem to pick up .net framework 4.0. I've followed instructions from this MSTest: Measuring Test Quality With NCover post with slight modifications for .net framework 4.0, without any success.   All, I'm in the process now of building a SaaS tool that allows network admins to generate notification emails to the members of the end-users of our platform (among many many other things). I'm running into a bit of an "out of my expertise" wall, as I know there are a lot of variables involved with configuring an application that can: Run in a distributed way via load balancing and still-- Leverage a single mail server for sending notification emails Process unsubscribe requests Avoid any ISP blacklisting in the process. If anyone has the time and has done this before, I'd love if you could walk me through the A-Z of best practices both from a configuration perspective and an execution perspective for generating these emails (anything from necessary DNS settings to ideal SMTP setup and configuration) Currently, our application generates email via Google Apps using the PHPMailer class. While this works well, it doesn't queue messages (potential for timeout problems if any of our clients amass a very large list of end-users), and Google limits the amount of allowed generated email messages to 500/day. I know this is a lofty question, but any guidance you could provide would be smashing and a big help as we work through this hurtle in our beta development stage. Thanks!

  I have a WCF service which can run as Console App and a Windows Service. I have exactly the same code, but running in a windows service and I get the following error when I try to call any of the methods from a client: System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException was unhandled Message="An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail." Source="mscorlib" StackTrace: Server stack trace: at System.ServiceModel.Channels.SecurityChannelFactory`1.SecurityRequestChannel.ProcessReply(Message reply, SecurityProtocolCorrelationState correlationState, TimeSpan timeout) ...... I'm assuming that it has something to do with acces to system resources from the Windows Service. I've tried running it under the same account as the console app, but no luck. Discarding the data is a start, but I need to discard up to a point I can start processing messages again. The corrupt message may be lost, but I need to be able to recover from it. I've got the following idea in mind: Put a fixed header at the start of each message, eg. 0xABCDEF01. When recovering, lookup this header and restart handling incoming messages. = Break off readFortune() on a timeout and recover = When encountering an inconsistent header, recover A huge blocksize is still going to be a problem. To fix that, I should be constantly checking whether or not I'm reading gibberish, but this is not always possible. I can also limit the blocksize on certain message-types. Any ideas on this? Any proposals on what to use as byteword?

• jQuery Cycle plugin pagerAnchorBuilder images becoming undefined

  I have a slideshow built in flash that I want to mimic in jQuery. The slide show uses the images from the slideshow as the pager numbers. The problem im having is once i apply links to the slideshow images the pagerAnchorBuilder image returns an undefined for the src of the image. • Opening a LWJGL window from a SWT app on Mac

  I have a SWT app that opens a OpenGL window (using the LWJGL library) after a button is pressed. Works fine on Windows. It looks like the SWT app doesn't shut down cleanly and leaves it's menu entries associated with it, which prevents the LWJGL window from opening. Mac OS X only wants one application menu. SWT doesn't free it's own menu and LWJGL wants to add another. Facts: A button in the SWT dialog is supposed to close the dialog and open a LWJGL window (org.lwjgl.opengl.Display). The button sets a static variable in the app to tell it what to do next after the SWT window is closed, so the LWJGL window is NOT being opened from a SWT callback directly. The button then closes the SWT window. I don't know the correct way of doing this but tried various combinations of shell.close, shell.dispose, display.close and display.dispose, none of them worked. They all close the window but the error occurs every time. Does anyone know what could be done to make this work?

• Problem upgrading eclipse rcp app from 3.3 to 3.5 on Mac OS

  I previously had an eclipse rcp app based on eclipse 3.3 pugins deployed on both windows and mac OS X 10.4. i'm now trying to port the app to java 1.6 and eclipse 3.5 (Build id: 20100218-1602) plugins on Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard). I can launch the product from eclipse 3.5 on windows but not on Mac OS X. I have the 64bit cocoa eclipse IDE and java 6. In the launch configuration I set runtime JRE to JVM 1.6.0 and added required plugins. • Server port 16080 problem: webserver adds the port number 16080 in the URL

  Hello everybody. On my wordpress website one little thing doesn't work. Sometimes the Webserver adds the port number 16080 in the URL, which leads to an error (network timeout). Wrong: http://www.example.com:16080/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Correct: http://www.example.com/about-us/weekly-program/?month=may&yr=2010 Has someone a "Server port 16080 problem fix"? Is it possible, that I need to add a ServerName directive to the config file to tell the domain name of the server? Cheers Juri !!!update!!! • Parallel WCF calls to multiple servers

  I have a WCF service (the same one) running on multiple servers, and I'd like to call all instances in parallel from a single client. I'm using ChannelFactory and the interface (contract) to call the service. Each service has a local <endpoint> client defined in the .config file. What I'm trying to do is build some kind of generic framework to avoid code duplication. For example a synchronous call in a single thread looks something like this: Dim remoteName As String = "endpointName1" Dim svcProxy As ChannelFactory(Of IMyService) = New ChannelFactory(Of IMyService)(remoteName) Try svcProxy.Open() Dim svc As IMyService = svcProxy.CreateChannel() nodeResult = svc.TestRemote("foo") Finally svcProxy.Close() End Try The part I'm having difficulty with is how to specify and actually invoke the actual remote method (eg "TestRemote") without having to duplicate the above code, and all the thread-related stuff that invokes that, for each method. In the end, I'd like to be able to write code along the lines of (consider this psuedo code): Dim results as Dictionary(Of Node, ExpectedReturnType) results = ParallelInvoke(IMyService.SomeMethod, parameter1, parameter2) where ParallelInvoke() will take the method as an argument, as well as the parameters (paramArray or object() .. whatever) and then go run the request on each remote node, block until they all return an answer or timeout, and then return the results into a Dictionary with the key as the node, and the value as whatever value it returned. I can then (depending on the method) pick out the single value I need, or aggregate all the values from each server together, etc. I'm pretty sure I can do this using reflection and InvokeMember(), but that requires passing the method as a string (which can lead to errors like calling a non-existing method that can't be caught at compile time), so I'd like to see if there is a cleaner way to do this. • WOT Bookmarklet

  I'm trying to write a bookmarklet that will allow me to view the Web Of Trust (WOT) ratings for all the links on a page before visiting them. While WOT provides their own bookmarklet, it is not very useful since you need to visit the page first before viewing the rating. This will be used on SeaMonkey, so I can't just install the WOT extension, either. WOT has a Javascript API that allows you to activate the ratings on any page it is included in, so I am using that as a base. However, it never seems to work correctly as a bookmarklet. Here's one attempt where I tried to keep the code as close to the API as possible. I only modified the wotinject function so that it would work in a bookmarklet and added a timeout so that the rating widget wouldn't be loaded before jQuery. var wotprotocol = (document.location.protocol == "https:") ?
