• What is the proper way to get the current look-and-feel's component background color in Swing?

  I am writing a custom Swing component with my own painting. I'd like to query whether or not the current look and feel's components are opaque, and if so, what their background color is so my component can use it too. I'm having a hard time finding that on Google. Anyone know? Thanks!

  Hi, I'm using Spring 2.5 with my custom class that implements MessageListener. If a JmsException is thrown in my onMessage( ) method, what happens to the state of the queue? Is the message considered "delivered" by the queue the moment onMessage is called? Or does the JmsException trigger some kind of rollback and the message is re-entered on the queue? • Using "null" in jQuery functions. Is this okay?

  My database consists of some entries which are NULL (so they don't affect max, min, etc..). When I pull all of the data from the database, I need to repopulate form fields with the values. Using .val(value) where value = NULL seems to work without any problems, but I'm not sure if this is a valid way to go about this. It doesn't say anything in the jQuery documentation (that I can find) about using NULL as parameters to functions.
