• Android - HorizontalScrollView within ScrollView Touch Handling

  Hi, I have a ScrollView that surrounds my entire layout so that the entire screen is scrollable. The first element I have in this ScrollView is a HorizontalScrollView block that has features that can be scrolled through horizontally. I've added an ontouchlistener to the horizontalscrollview to handle touch events and force the view to "snap" to the closest image on the ACTION_UP event. So the effect I'm going for is like the stock android homescreen where you can scroll from one to the other and it snaps to one screen when you lift your finger. This all works great except for one problem: I need to swipe left to right almost perfectly horizontally for an ACTION_UP to ever register. If I swipe vertically in the very least (which I think many people tend to do on their phones when swiping side to side), I will receive an ACTION_CANCEL instead of an ACTION_UP. My theory is that this is because the horizontalscrollview is within a scrollview, and the scrollview is hijacking the vertical touch to allow for vertical scrolling. How can I disable the touch events for the scrollview from just within my horizontal scrollview, but still allow for normal vertical scrolling elsewhere in the scrollview?   Hi, I am currently struggling to call a non python program from a python script. I have a ~1000 files that when passed through this C++ program will generate ~1000 outputs. Each output file must have a distinct name. The command I wish to run is of the form: program_name -input -output -o1 -o2 -o3 To date I have tried: import os cwd = os.getcwd() files = os.listdir(cwd) required_files = [] for i in file: if i.endswith('.ttp'): required_files.append(i) So, I have an array of the neccesary files. Is it possible to change it so it always uses a defined extension (say .txt or .log) and inserts the number as part of the file name.   I'm new to WPF 3D, so I may just be missing something obvious, but how would I go about converting from a 2D coordinate to a 3D coordinate and back again? I'd like the 2D coordinate to be the location measured from the upper-left corner of Viewport3D and the 3D coordinate to be the location relative to the origin (0, 0, 0) of the 3D world. The conversion functions should have these signatures: public Point3D Point2DAndWorldZToPoint3D(Point2D point2D, double worldZ) // usually I want to know where a 2D point will be on the ground plane // so worldZ will usually be zero (but not always) public Point2D Point3DToPoint2D(Point3D point3D) I found this related question, but it only addresses conversion from 3D to 2D (not the reverse), and I'm not sure if the answers are up-to-date. I have seen a couple of solutions one jquery+ css(setExpression) which doesn't work in IE8. And another that uses ajax extensions, yet again doesn't work in IE8. • Android SlidingDrawer in Eclipse IDE

  I am trying to design an application for Android that makes use of the SlidingDrawer, but I have not been able to use the form (layout?) designer to add this element without producing an exception "IllegalArgumentException: The handle attribute is required and must refer to a valid child." As of March 17th, I believe I have everything up to date (Eclipse, and the Android SDK). All the SDK components have been installed. I have created two Android virtual devices, One for version 1.0, and one for version 2.1 when I figured out that 1.0 didn't support the SlidingDrawer. I have tried importing the samples provided in the SDK, as well as several other layouts from the web that I have found, all of which produce this same exception. My programming background is mostly C++, and I consider myself to be a novice programmer, so feel free to talk to me as if I were an idiot so that I will understand. ^^;

  Hi everyone, I'm having a trouble making a re-sizable rectangle for cropping my images. I'm trying to achieve something like this picture: http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/8930/customcropbox.jpg Well, the only problem is I have no clue where to actually start. I need some advice to how I can achieve this effect of cropping. What documentation should I read up on? Core Graphics or Quartz 2d? Both? I've been coding for the iPhone since it's release date but I've never actually used core graphics and etc. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. I'll throw my code up here as I progress to show how it's done when I achieve it. :-) Also, this rectangular box is moveable across the screen in a UIImageView which just makes it more interesting. If I comment the two middle lines of code and uncomment the top part to display a regular action sheet, it works fine. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

  We have a SharePoint (MOSS 2007 on Win2003 R2) with SSRS reports (from SQL 2005) embedded in it. When we connect to the SharePoint portal through our VPN (firewall is Juniper SA4000) and using Internet Explorer (6, 7, and 8) and try to export any SSRS report under Excel, we get an error message: Internet Explorer cannot download . Internet Explorer was not able to open the internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. When not using the VPN (LAN from the office), everything (exporting under Excel) works fine. When using Firefox through the VPN, it works fine. When exporting to any other format (pdf or text or whatever), everything is fine under both IE and FF. Our firewall people suspect something in SSRS/MOSS/Office. • How to filter the jqGrid data NOT using the built in search/filter box

  I want users to be able to filter grid data without using the intrinsic search box. I have created two input fields for date (from and to) and now need to tell the grid to adopt this as its filter and then to request new data. Forging a server request for grid data (bypassing the grid) and setting the grid's data to be the response data wont work - because as soon as the user tries to re-order the results or change the page etc. the grid will request new data from the server using a blank filter. I cant seem to find grid API to achieve this - does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

  Hello, So I need your help please! I've created a UITableViewController: ContactDetailViewController. In IB in the nib file, I've added a view ahead of the table view and hooked it up to headerView - a UIView declared in the .h file.
