  • Retain IEnumerable<T> value during postback

    - by ScG
I have an IEnumerable< T which is declared on the page like this: IEnumerable< Person person; When the page postsback, the person list is null. How can I retain the values of person list without declaring it as static? Sr. devs in my company say that you should not declare the list as static.

  • Convert &euro; -> € in XUL

    - by Michael
I need to convert HTML special symbols to their appropriate Unicode values in my Firefox extension. I'm not dealing with HTML DOM, so can't use the trick with giving value to div and taking back. Also there are too many of them to convert manually. Thought Firefox has something to use. The converted text should go to XUL's description element on statusbar. Any idea how to accomplish this?

  • Looking for a fast hash-function.

    - by Julian
Hello, I'm looking for a special hash-function. Let's say I have a large list of strings, if I order them by their hash-values they should be ordered quasi randomly. The most important point is: it must be super fast. I've tried md5 and sha1 and they're using to much cpu power. Clashes are not a problem. I'm using javascript, so it shouldn't be too complicated to implement.

  • Object synchronization with GUI Controls in C#

    - by Heka
Hi, Every time when I change some values in form controls, I need to set a property of an object or vice versa. Instead of writing some methods for each control, I want a general solution for GUI elements. I do not use WPF but only C# 3.0. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Use textbox value on submit as a query string variable

    - by Eric
How would I take a text box value and use it in the query string on submit? I'd like it to start as this, /News?favorites=True and end up something like this after the user enters in a search and clicks search. /News?query=test&favorites=True The controller action looks like this public ActionResult Index(string query, bool favorites) { //search code } This question is something close to what I'd like to do, but I'd like to use the query string and maintain the existing values in the query string. Thanks.

  • Xml with spaces as InnerText

    - by David Rutten
I'm parsing Xml data which has entries like this: <item name="UserText" type_name="gh_string" type_code="10"> </item> I'm supposed to read the 6 spaces as a String, but both the InnerText and InnerXml values of the System.Xml.XmlNode are zero length Strings. Is there any way I can get at this whitespace data in existing files and what do I need to do in the future to prevent this sort of screw up?

  • patterns in case statement in bash scripting

    - by Ramiro Rela
The man says that case statements use "filename expansion pattern matching". I usually want to have short names for some parameters, so I go: case $1 in req|reqs|requirements) TASK="Functional Requirements";; met|meet|meetings) TASK="Meetings with the client";; esac logTimeSpentIn "$TASK" I tried patterns like "req*" or "me{e,}t" which I understand would expand correctly to match those values in the context of filename expansion, but it doesn't work. Thanks.

  • MySQLi Insert prepared statement via PHP

    - by Jimmy
Howdie do, This is my first time dealing with MySQLi inserts. I had always used mysql and directly ran the queries. Apparently, not as secure as MySQLi. Anywho, I'm attempting to pass two variables into the database. For some reason my prepared statement keeps erroring out. I'm not sure if it's a syntax error, but the insert just won't work. I've updated the code to make the variables easier to read Also, the error is specifically, Error preparing statement. I've updated the code, but it's not a pHP error. It's a MySQL error as the script runs but fails at the execution of: if($stmt = $mysqli - prepare("INSERT INTO subnets (id, subnet, mask, sectionId, description, vrfId, masterSubnetId, allowRequests, vlanId, showName, permissions, pingSubnet, isFolder, editDate) VALUES ('', ?, ?, '1', '', '0', '0', '0', '0', '0', '{"3":"1","2":"2"}', '0', '0', 'NULL')")) { I'm going to enable MySQL error checking. I honestly didn't know about that. <?php error_reporting(E_ALL); function InsertIPs($decimnal,$cidr) { error_reporting(E_ALL); $mysqli = new mysqli("localhost","jeremysd_ips","","jeremysd_ips"); if(mysqli_connect_errno()) { echo "Connection Failed: " . mysqli_connect_errno(); exit(); } if($stmt = $mysqli -> prepare("INSERT INTO subnets (id, subnet, mask, sectionId,description, vrfld, masterSubnetId,allowRequests, vlanId,showName, permissions, pingSubnet,isFolder, editDate) VALUES ('',?,?,'1','','0','0','0','0','0', '{'3':'1','2':'2'}', '0', '0', NULL)")) { $stmt-> bind_param('ii',$decimnal,$cidr); if($stmt-> execute()) { echo "Row added successfully\n"; } else { $stmt->error; } $stmt -> close; } } else { echo 'Error preparing statement'; } $mysqli -> close(); } $SUBNETS = array ("2915483648 | 18"); foreach($SUBNETS as $Ip) { list($TempIP,$TempMask) = explode(' | ',$Ip); echo InsertIPs($Tempip,$Tempmask); } ?> This function isn't supposed to return anything. It's just supposed to perform the Insert. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm just not sure what I'm missing here
