  • Rails 3 and Bootstrap 2.1.0 - can't fix my footer

    - by ExiRe
    I have Rails application with bootstrap 2.1.0 (i use twitter-bootstrap-rails gem for that). But i can't get working footer. It is not visible unless i scroll down the page. I can't get how to fix that. Application.html.haml !!! %html %head %title MyApp = stylesheet_link_tag "application", :media => "all" = javascript_include_tag "application" = csrf_meta_tags %meta{ :name => "viewport", :content => "width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0" } %body %div{ :class => "wrapper" } = render 'layouts/navbar_template' %div{ :class => "container-fluid" } - flash.each do |key, value| = content_tag( :div, value, :class => "alert alert-#{key}" ) %div{ :class => "row-fluid" } %div{:class => "span10"} =yield %div{:class => "span2"} %h2 Test sidebar %footer{ :class => "footer" } = debug(params) if Rails.env.development? bootstrap_and_overrides.css.less @import "twitter/bootstrap/bootstrap"; body { padding-top: 60px; } @import "twitter/bootstrap/responsive"; // Set the correct sprite paths @iconSpritePath: asset-path('twitter/bootstrap/glyphicons-halflings.png'); @iconWhiteSpritePath: asset-path('twitter/bootstrap/glyphicons-halflings-white.png'); // Set the Font Awesome (Font Awesome is default. You can disable by commenting below lines) // Note: If you use asset_path() here, your compiled boostrap_and_overrides.css will not // have the proper paths. So for now we use the absolute path. @fontAwesomeEotPath: '/assets/fontawesome-webfont.eot'; @fontAwesomeWoffPath: '/assets/fontawesome-webfont.woff'; @fontAwesomeTtfPath: '/assets/fontawesome-webfont.ttf'; @fontAwesomeSvgPath: '/assets/fontawesome-webfont.svg'; // Font Awesome @import "fontawesome"; // Your custom LESS stylesheets goes here // // Since bootstrap was imported above you have access to its mixins which // you may use and inherit here // // If you'd like to override bootstrap's own variables, you can do so here as well // See http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/less.html for their names and documentation // // Example: // @linkColor: #ff0000; //MY CSS IS HERE. html, body { height: 100%; } footer { color: #666; background: #F5F5F5; padding: 17px 0 18px 0; border-top: 1px solid #000; } footer a { color: #999; } footer a:hover { color: #efefef; } .wrapper { min-height: 100%; height: auto !important; height: 10px; margin-bottom: -10px; }

Or if it is not possible to skip webbrowser.open when running on a shell without x?

  • Obtaining the tropicity of an image on the iPhone

    - by WhiteTiger
Hello all I was wondering how it's possible to find out if an image in the iPhone photo library is isotropic or anisotropic. Basically how many millimeters each pixel measures in height and in width. In JPG images the information is hardcoded into the data stream so it's possible to do by simply pointing a const char* to the image file, but I'm not sure I can do that with the data the iPhone image returns. Thank you in advance

  • Javascript Uncaught Error: INDEX_SIZE_ERR: - Google Chrome - Canvas

    - by Gart
I am drawing on a canvas with the following line: ctx.drawImage(compositeImage, 0, 0, image.width, image.height, i, j, scaledCompositeImageWidth, scaledCompositeImageHeight); This code has executed error free on Safari, Chrome, Firefox (and even IE using google's excanvas library). However, a recent update to Chrome now throws the following error: Uncaught Error: INDEX_SIZE_ERR: DOM Exception 1 This code often positions part or all of the drawn image OFF the canvas, anyone got any idea what's going on here?

  • How can I get IE8 to accept a css :before tag?

    - by William Calleja
I have the following CSS code .editable:before { content: url(../images/icons/icon1.png); padding-right:5px; } this is used in conjuntion with the following markup: <span class="editable"></span> In every other blessed browser in the world my icon is appearing, but IE8 seems to have a problem with this. Isn't the :before pseudo-element CSS2? isn't content: also a CSS2 command? what gives?

  • Fast Remote PHP Technique To Detect Image 404

    - by Volomike
What PHP script technique runs the fastest in detecting if a remote image does not exist before I include the image? I mean, I don't want to download all the bytes of the remote image -- just enough to detect if it exists. And while on the subject but with just a slight deviation, I'd like to download just enough bytes to determine a JPEG's width and height information. Speed is very important in my concern here on this system design I'm working on.

  • Google gadget to read https rss feeds?

    - by Carl
Anyone run across a Google Gadget RSS reader that can read https feeds? I haven't been able to find any, and I'm not sure if this is because a) I'm the only one that needs one and/or b) there is something nasty about the browser security model here that I'll find out if I try to roll my own. Thanks much in advance.

  • Would it be possible to speed up Android Emulator by removing unnecessary apps\

    - by Stan
I am using Android SDK 1.6 and developing some simple apps. It seems everytime Android Emulator loads every default apps, like message music browser etc... I guess this cause the booting process slow (takes 1 minute overhead for me to test the code every time). Would it be possible to take these apps out and just have my apps on the emulator? My purpose is to have a faster boot up time on emulator. Thanks.

  • jQuery tools modal overlay display problem in IE6-8

    - by Michael Stone
I'm trying to enable the overlay to be modal. It works perfectly fine in FireFox, but the window object is behind the mask when it becomes modal. This prevents any interaction with it and the page is actually useless. I've tried debugging this for a while and can't figure it out. Here is a link to the example on their site: http://flowplayer.org/tools/demos/overlay/modal-dialog.html $.fn.cfwindow = function(btnEvent, modal, draggable){ //error checking if(btnEvent == ""){ alert('Error in window :\n Please provide an id that instantiates the window. '); } if(!modal && !draggable){ $('#'+btnEvent+'[rel]').overlay(); $('#content_overlay').css('cursor','default'); } if(!modal && draggable){ $('#'+btnEvent+'[rel]').overlay(); $('#content_overlay').css('cursor','move'); $('#custom').draggable(); } if(modal){ $('#'+btnEvent+'[rel]').overlay({ // some mask tweaks suitable for modal dialogs mask: { color: '#646464', loadSpeed: 200, opacity: 0.6 }, closeOnClick: false }); $('#content_overlay').css('cursor','default'); //$('#custom').addClass('modal'); } }; That's what I'm referencing when I call through: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $(document).pngFix(); var modal = <cfoutput>#attributes.modal#; var drag = #attributes.draggable#; var btn = '#attributes.selector#'; var src = '#attributes.source#'; var wid = '#attributes.width#'; $('##custom').width(parseInt(wid)); $('div##load_content').load(src); $('##custom').cfwindow(btn, modal, drag, wid); }); </script> CSS for the modal: <style type="text/css"> .modal { display:none; text-align:left; background-color:#FFFFFF; -moz-border-radius:6px; -webkit-border-radius:6px; } </style> Exclude the and the additional pound signs, IE. "##". Screen shot of the problem: http://twitpic.com/1tak06 Note: IE6 and IE8 have the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Is it ethical to let users see the request headers from visitors to a url shortening service?

    - by soniiic
I'm currently in the progress of making a url shortening service that will let the creator see the http request headers that the browser has made when visitors visit the url. The visitors won't be made aware that they are being tracked, but obviously nothing is personally identifiable. Is there anything I should be made aware of ethically or legally that makes this a bad idea?

  • In WPF, What is the best way to create toolbar buttons so that the images are properly scaled?

    - by T.R.
Specifically, I'm looking to use the 16*16 32-bit png images included with the VS2008ImageLibrary. I've tried manually setting the Height and Width attributes of the image, adjusting margins and padding, adjusting Stretch and RenderOptions. My attempts to create toolbar buttons have all led to either Improper Scaling (blurry icons), the bottom row of pixels on the icon being truncated, or the toolbar button being improperly sized - not to mention the disappearing icons already mentioned Here. Has anyone found the best way to make standard, VisualStudio/WinForms-style toolbar buttons that display properly in WPF?

  • PHP: Cookie only sent to http://www.xxx.com and NOT http://xxx.com

    - by Axel
Hi, I have a php login which sets 2 cookies once some one login. the problem is that if you login from : http://www.mydomain.com and you go to http://mydomain.com you will find your self not logged in, I think that's because the browser only send the cookies to the first syntax. It's only one domain, the difference is the www. before the domain name, so how to set cookies to the whole domain whatever there is www. or not ? Thanks

  • How to implement login page using Spring Security so that it works with Spring web flow?

    - by simon
    I have a web application using Spring 2.5.6 and Spring Security 2.0.4. I have implemented a working login page, which authenticates the user against a web service. The authentication is done by defining a custom authentincation manager, like this: <beans:bean id="customizedFormLoginFilter" class="org.springframework.security.ui.webapp.AuthenticationProcessingFilter"> <custom-filter position="AUTHENTICATION_PROCESSING_FILTER" /> <beans:property name="defaultTargetUrl" value="/index.do" /> <beans:property name="authenticationFailureUrl" value="/login.do?error=true" /> <beans:property name="authenticationManager" ref="customAuthenticationManager" /> <beans:property name="allowSessionCreation" value="true" /> </beans:bean> <beans:bean id="customAuthenticationManager" class="com.sevenp.mobile.samplemgmt.web.security.CustomAuthenticationManager"> <beans:property name="authenticateUrlWs" value="${WS_ENDPOINT_ADDRESS}" /> </beans:bean> The authentication manager class: public class CustomAuthenticationManager implements AuthenticationManager, ApplicationContextAware { @Transactional @Override public Authentication authenticate(Authentication authentication) throws AuthenticationException { //authentication logic return new UsernamePasswordAuthenticationToken(principal, authentication.getCredentials(), grantedAuthorityArray); } The essential part of the login jsp looks like this: <c:url value="/j_spring_security_check" var="formUrlSecurityCheck"/> <form method="post" action="${formUrlSecurityCheck}"> <div id="errorArea" class="errorBox"> <c:if test="${not empty param.error}"> ${sessionScope["SPRING_SECURITY_LAST_EXCEPTION"].message} </c:if> </div> <label for="loginName"> Username: <input style="width:125px;" tabindex="1" id="login" name="j_username" /> </label> <label for="password"> Password: <input style="width:125px;" tabindex="2" id="password" name="j_password" type="password" /> </label> <input type="submit" tabindex="3" name="login" class="formButton" value="Login" /> </form> Now the problem is that the application should use Spring Web Flow. After the application was configured to use Spring Web Flow, the login does not work anymore - the form action to "/j_spring_security_check" results in a blank page without error message. What is the best way to adapt the existing login process so that it works with Spring Web Flow?

  • jQuery DataTables is messing op my CSS grids in IE8, how to fix?

    - by Brendan Vogt
I am using ASP.NET MVC3 with the jQuery Datatable plug in. I am having an issues with my CSS layout when the datatable is on a page. If there is no datatable then everything displays fine. When the datatable is on the screen then it overlaps the footer of my website. I can't seem to get this to display correctly. I have a grid layout using the YUI3, and this is what I all use from YUI3 (in this order): cssreset-min cssfonts-min cssgrids-min cssbase-min This works fine in the latest version of FireFox. I am only testing on IE8, this is a requirement and most of the people at my work uses IE8. I have minified my HTML so that only the bare minimum is available. This is my HTML: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>My Website</title> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge" /> <link href="/Assets/Stylesheets/hef2.css" rel="stylesheet" /> <link href="/Assets/Stylesheets/jQuery-DataTables/css/jquery.dataTables.css" rel="stylesheet" /> </head> <body> <div id="hd">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. I have tried tried adding clear:both but it didn't work. Is the an online service like jsbin where I can paste/upload my HTML/CSS code/files? Code can viewed at: http://live.datatables.net/efosuj/3/edit. It displays correctly in the available viewer but when run separate in IE8 then it gives issues. UPDATE 2012-06-12 I managed to add the following and it works, but I would like to add it in a style, tried it but it didn't work: if (navigator.userAgent.toString().indexOf('MSIE') >= 0) { jQuery('#main-container').css('overflow', 'auto'); } This was added after the grid was loaded. Is this the only way to do this?

  • How do you make a CSS-defined table-cell scroll?

    - by Giffyguy
I want to be able to set the height of the table, and force the cells to scroll individually if they are larger than the table. Consider the following code: (see it in action here) <div style="display: table; position: absolute; width: 25%; height: 80%; min-height: 80%; max-height: 80%; left: 0%; top: 10%; right: 75%; bottom: 10%; border: solid 1px black;"> <div style="display: table-row;"> <div style="display: table-cell; border: solid 1px blue;"> {Some dynamic text content}<br/> This cell should shrink to fit it's contents. </div> </div> <div style="display: table-row;"> <div style="display: table-cell; border: solid 1px red; overflow: scroll;"> This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. This should only take up the remainder of the table's vertical space. </div> </div> </div> If you open this code (in IE8, in my case) you'll notice that the second cell fits in the table nicely when the browser is maximized. In theory, when you shrink the browser (forcing the table to shrink as well), a vertical scrollbar should appear INSIDE the second cell when the table becomes too small to fit all of the content. But in reality, the table just grows vertically, beyond the bounds set by the CSS height attribute(s). Hopefully I've explained this scenario adequately... Does anyone know how I can get this to work?
