Specifically, I'm trying to understand in which scenario to use each one by listing how each works. I'm a little fuzzy on UpdatePanel vs CallBack (with ViewState): I know UpdatePanel always returns HTML while CallBack can return JSON. Any other major differences? ...and CallBack (without ViewState) vs WebMethod. CallBack goes through most of the Page lifecycle, WebMethod doesn't. Any other major differences? • Does visibility affect DOM manipulation performance?

  IE7/Windows XP I have a third party component in my page that does a lot of DOM manipulation to adjust itself each time the browser window is resized. Unfortunately I have little control of what it does internally and I have optimized everything else (such as callbacks and event handlers) as much as I can. I can't take the component off the flow by setting display:none because it fails measuring itself if I do so. In general, does setting visibility of the container to invisible during the resize help improve DOM rendering performance?

  In Firefox and IE when you enable contentEditable on a div that contains an image, the image gets handles when clicked on that allow you to resize it. I'm struggling to find an event that fires after the resize occurs. I want to be able to update a properties inspector with the correct height and width values when the resize takes place. Is this possible, and if so, how? :)

  Hi, I am trying to use dijit.InlineEditBox. I don't understand the logic in this system... why is dijit generating the style directly inside the element? how can I change these properties? Thanks Tom

  From my experience so far, it seems that if you write a script that makes lots of expensive calls close together, the functionality just "hangs", or you get inconsistent responses, and have to refresh the browser because sheets stop updating etc. Are there any docs or specs that clarify this, as releasing an app fr real-world use is not possible if users can expect it to work most of the time, and produce random results every now and then...

  Hi, My android application uses an sqlite database and during first run it deletes some rows . The next time it runs it tries to do the same , but because the rows were previously deleted it fails . I use SQLite database browser to inspect the database ,after first run (when the rows are deleted) and I observe that the rows that no longer should exist are still in the database , even if ehwn running the app again those rows are no longer visible ! What is the cause for this behavior ?

• UIScrollView not showing scroll indicator

  I have a UIScrollView which I create and size dynamically using... scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(scrollView.frame.size.width , length); I then add subviews to the UIScrollView. I do have scrollView.showsVerticalScrollIndicator = YES; When scrolling the scroll indicator never appears. Even if I call [scrollView flashScrollIndicators] nothing happens. Ideas?

• Unable to checkout log4j repository

  I'm using tortoiseSVN to checkout the log4j v1.2 source from - http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/logging/log4j/trunk But i keep getting this error: Error: OPTIONS of '': Could not Error: resolve hostname `svn.apache.org': No such host is known. The funny thing is that i can access 'svn.apache.org' from my browser but if i try to ping it from the command prompt, it says host not found. Does any body else face this problem? Is there any other way to get the source for log4j v1.2?

  I'm trying to use MODI to OCR a window's program. I try cropping the image programmatically like this: private string SaveToCroppedImage(Bitmap original) { Bitmap result = original.Clone(new Rectangle(0, 0, 250, 250), original.PixelFormat); var fileName = "c:\\" + Guid.NewGuid().ToString() + ".bmp"; result.Save(fileName, original.RawFormat); return fileName; } and then OCRing this smaller image, however MODI throws an exception; 'OCR running error', the error code is -959967087. Why can MODI handle the original bitmap but not the smaller version taken from it?
