  • UIImage Object surprisingly returning null but not NSData

    - by riyaz
    i have created a sqlite db. and i have insert a few datas in my db.. UIImage * imagee=[UIImage imageNamed:@"image.png"]; NSData *mydata=[NSData dataWithData:UIImagePNGRepresentation(imagee)]; const char *dbpath = [databasePath UTF8String]; NSString *insertSQL=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"insert into CONTACTS values(\"%@\",\"%@\")",@"Mathan",mydata]; NSLog(@"mydata %@",mydata); sqlite3_stmt *addStatement; const char *insert_stmt=[insertSQL UTF8String]; if (sqlite3_open(dbpath,&contactDB)==SQLITE_OK) { sqlite3_prepare_v2(contactDB,insert_stmt,-1,&addStatement,NULL); if (sqlite3_step(addStatement)==SQLITE_DONE) { sqlite3_bind_blob(addStatement,1, [mydata bytes], [mydata length], SQLITE_TRANSIENT); NSLog(@"Data saved"); } else{ NSLog(@"Some Error occured"); } sqlite3_close(contactDB); } else{ NSLog(@"Failure"); } have written some codes to retrive the data sqlite3_stmt *statement; if (sqlite3_open([databasePath UTF8String], &contactDB) == SQLITE_OK) { NSString *sql = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"SELECT * FROM contacts"]; if (sqlite3_prepare_v2( contactDB, [sql UTF8String], -1, &statement, nil) == SQLITE_OK) { while (sqlite3_step(statement) == SQLITE_ROW) { char *field1 = (char *) sqlite3_column_text(statement, 0); NSString *field1Str = [[NSString alloc] initWithUTF8String: field1]; NSLog(@"UserName %@",field1Str); NSData *data = [[NSData alloc] initWithBytes:sqlite3_column_blob(statement, 1) length:sqlite3_column_bytes(statement, 1)]; UIImage *newImage = [[UIImage alloc]initWithData:data]; NSLog(@"Image OBJ %@",newImage); NSLog(@"Image Data %@",data); } sqlite3_close(contactDB); } } sqlite3_finalize(statement); the problem is in log, inserted NSData object and retrieved NSData Objects are different (printing in log gives different stream) moreover Image OBJ is printed null in log.. Have seen similar questions in stackoverflow. But nothing seems to help. Please give some suggestions to overcome this issue.

  • em.createQuery keeps returning null

    - by Developer106
    I have this application which i use JSF 2.0 and EclipseLink, i have entities created for a database made in MySQL, Created these entities using netbeans 7.1.2, it gets created automaticly. Then i use session beans to work with these entities, the thing is the em.createQuery always returns a null, though I checked NamedQueries in the entities and they perfectly match a sample from the entities named queries:- @NamedQueries({ @NamedQuery(name = "Users.findAll", query = "SELECT u FROM Users u"), @NamedQuery(name = "Users.findByUserId", query = "SELECT u FROM Users u WHERE u.userId = :userId"), @NamedQuery(name = "Users.findByUsername", query = "SELECT u FROM Users u WHERE u.username = :username"), @NamedQuery(name = "Users.findByEmail", query = "SELECT u FROM Users u WHERE u.email = :email"), notice how i use this findByEmail query in the session bean :- public Users findByEmail(String email){ em.getTransaction().begin(); String find = "Users.findByEmail"; Query query = em.createNamedQuery(find); query.setParameter("email", email); Users user = (Users) query.getSingleResult(); but it always returns null from this em.createNamedQuery, i tried using .createQuery first but it also was no good. the stacktrace of the exception Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.readme.entities.sessionBeans.UsersFacade.findByEmail(UsersFacade.java:48) at com.readme.user.signup.SignupBean.checkAvailability(SignupBean.java:137) at com.readme.user.signup.SignupBean.save(SignupBean.java:146) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:57) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:601) What Seems To Be The Problem Here ?

  • Query Parameter Value Is Null When Enum Item 0 is Cast to Int32

    - by Timothy
    When I use the first item in a zero-based Enum cast to Int32 as a query parameter, the parameter value is null. I've worked around it by simply setting the first item to a value of 1, but I was wondering though what's really going on here? This one has me scratching my head. Why does the parameter regarded the value as null, instead of 0? Enum LogEventType : int { SignIn, SignInFailure, SignOut, ... } private static DataTable QueryEventLogSession(DateTime start, DateTime stop) { DataTable entries = new DataTable(); using (FbConnection conn = new FbConnection(DSN)) { using (FbDataAdapter adapter = new FbDataAdapter( "SELECT event_type, event_timestamp, event_details FROM event_log " + "WHERE event_timestamp BETWEEN @start AND @stop " + "AND event_type IN (@signIn, @signInFailure, @signOut) " + "ORDER BY event_timestamp ASC", conn)) { adapter.SelectCommand.Parameters.AddRange(new Object[] { new FbParameter("@start", start), new FbParameter("@stop", stop), new FbParameter("@signIn", (Int32)LogEventType.SignIn), new FbParameter("@signInFailure", (Int32)LogEventType.SignInFailure), new FbParameter("@signOut", (Int32)LogEventType.SignOut)}); Trace.WriteLine(adapter.SelectCommand.CommandText); foreach (FbParameter p in adapter.SelectCommand.Parameters) { Trace.WriteLine(p.Value.ToString()); } adapter.Fill(entries); } } return entries; }

    - by Isern Palaus
    Hello, I've a table called sports that contains a list of list of sports, other called seasons that contains the seasons for a specific sport and competitions that have the competitions of a specific sport and season. I need one MySQL query to print the list of sports with how much seasons and competitions has each. My tables structure: sports +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | id | int(10) unsigned | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | name | varchar(32) | NO | | NULL | | | slug | varchar(45) | NO | | NULL | | | description | varchar(128) | NO | | NULL | | +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ seasons +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | id | int(10) unsigned | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | id_sport | int(10) unsigned | NO | MUL | NULL | | | name | varchar(32) | NO | | NULL | | | slug | varchar(32) | NO | | NULL | | +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ competitions +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | id | int(10) unsigned | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | id_season | int(10) unsigned | NO | MUL | NULL | | | name | varchar(32) | NO | | NULL | | | slug | varchar(64) | NO | | NULL | | | description | varchar(128) | YES | | NULL | | +--------------------+------------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ The result of my query needs to contain: sports.*, total_seasons (SUM of seasons where seasons.id_sport=sports.id) and total_competitions (SUM of competitions where competitions.id_season=seasons.id AND seasons.id_sport=sports.id). Thank you in advance!

  • How to check data in a column separated by a colon (:)

    - by tonsils
    Hi, I have an Oracle database column, say col1, that has the following values: Col1 (A:B:C) I now need to come along and add to this Col1, only if it doesn’t exist, additional values but unsure how to go about checking to see if Col1 already contains these values. Scenario might be as follows: 1) Need to add B => Outcome=> check Col1 – B exists, do not add. 2) Need to add A:C => Outcome=> check Col1 – A and C exists, do not add. 3) Need to add C:D => Outcome=> check Col1 – C exists but D doesn’t, do not add C but need to add D 4) Need to add G => Outcome=> check Col1 – G doesn’t, need to add G Using Oracle sql or pl/sql I am unsure how to go about processing the above to ensure whether items exist or don’t exist and whether to add or not to add to Col1 Hoping someone can assist with a means of checking the data based on the above. Thanks

  • 4 table query / join. getting duplicate rows

    - by Horse
    So I have written a query that will grab an order (this is for an ecommerce type site), and from that order id it will get all order items (ecom_order_items), print options (c_print_options) and images (images). The eoi_p_id is currently a foreign key from the images table. This works fine and the query is: SELECT eoi_parentid, eoi_p_id, eoi_po_id, eoi_quantity, i_id, i_parentid, po_name, po_price FROM ecom_order_items, images, c_print_options WHERE eoi_parentid = '1' AND i_id = eoi_p_id AND po_id = eoi_po_id; The above would grab all the stuff I need for order #1 Now to complicate things I added an extra table (ecom_products), which needs to act in a similar way to the images table. The eoi_p_id can also point at a foreign key in this table too. I have added an extra field 'eoi_type' which will either have the value 'image', or 'product'. Now items in the order could be made up of a mix of items from images or ecom_products. Whatever I try it either ends up with too many records, wont actually output any with eoi_type = 'product', and just generally wont work. Any ideas on how to achieve what I am after? Can provide SQL samples if needed? SELECT eoi_id, eoi_parentid, eoi_p_id, eoi_po_id, eoi_po_id_2, eoi_quantity, eoi_type, i_id, i_parentid, po_name, po_price, po_id, ep_id FROM ecom_order_items, images, c_print_options, ecom_products WHERE eoi_parentid = '9' AND i_id = eoi_p_id AND po_id = eoi_po_id The above outputs duplicate rows and doesnt work as expected. Am I going about this the wrong way? Should I have seperate foreign key fields for the eoi_p_id depending it its an image or a product? Should I be using JOINs? Here is a mysql explain of the tables in question ecom_products +-------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +-------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | ep_id | int(8) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | ep_title | varchar(255) | NO | | NULL | | | ep_link | text | NO | | NULL | | | ep_desc | text | NO | | NULL | | | ep_imgdrop | text | NO | | NULL | | | ep_price | decimal(6,2) | NO | | NULL | | | ep_category | varchar(255) | NO | | NULL | | | ep_hide | tinyint(1) | NO | | 0 | | | ep_featured | tinyint(1) | NO | | 0 | | +-------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ ecom_order_items +--------------+-------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +--------------+-------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | eoi_id | int(8) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | eoi_parentid | int(8) | NO | | NULL | | | eoi_type | varchar(32) | NO | | NULL | | | eoi_p_id | int(8) | NO | | NULL | | | eoi_po_id | int(8) | NO | | NULL | | | eoi_quantity | int(4) | NO | | NULL | | +--------------+-------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ c_print_options +------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | po_id | int(8) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | po_name | varchar(255) | NO | | NULL | | | po_price | decimal(6,2) | NO | | NULL | | +------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ images +--------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +--------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | i_id | int(8) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | i_filename | varchar(255) | NO | | NULL | | | i_data | longtext | NO | | NULL | | | i_parentid | int(8) | NO | | NULL | | +--------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+

  • Return the Column Name for row with last non-null value "Ms Access 2007"

    - by bri1969
    I have a Table, which contains a list of league players. Each season, we record their Points per Dart. Their total PPD for that season is stored in other tables and extracted through other queries, which in turn are imported to the master table "Player History" at the end of the season for use as historical data. The current query retrieves each players PPD for each season they played, when they played last, and how many seasons played. The code for Last season Played has become too long and unstable to use. it was originally created, and split into two separate columns because a single SQL was to long. (LSP1) and LSP2) which work, but as I add seasons, Access does not like the length of code. In short, i need to find a more simple code that will look at each row, and look in that row for the last non null cell and report which column that last non null value is in. So if a player played seasons 30 & 31, but did not play 32..but did play 33, the Column with the code should be titled Last Season Played, and for that Player, it would state "33" in that cell, indicating that this player last played season "33" I will provide both tables and the query.. Please help

  • C# XNA: What can cause SpriteBatch.End() to throw a NPE?

    - by Rosarch
    I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here: public void Draw(GameTime gameTime) // in ScreenManager { SpriteBatch.Begin(SpriteBlendMode.AlphaBlend); for (int i = 0; i < Screens.Count; i++) { if (Screens[i].State == Screen.ScreenState.HIDDEN) continue; Screens[i].Draw(gameTime); } SpriteBatch.End(); // null ref exception } SpriteBatch itself is not null. Some more context: public class MasterEngine : Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Game { public MasterEngine() { graphicsDeviceManager = new GraphicsDeviceManager(this); Components.Add(new GamerServicesComponent(this)); // ... spriteBatch = new SpriteBatch(graphicsDeviceManager.GraphicsDevice); screenManager = new ScreenManager(assets, gameEngine, graphicsDeviceManager.GraphicsDevice, spriteBatch); } //... protected override void Draw(GameTime gameTime) { screenManager.Draw(gameTime); // calls the problematic method base.Draw(gameTime); } } Am I failing to initialize something properly? UPDATE: As an experiment, I tried this to the constructor of MasterEngine: spriteBatch = new SpriteBatch(graphicsDeviceManager.GraphicsDevice); spriteBatch.Begin(); spriteBatch.DrawString(assets.GetAsset<SpriteFont>("calibri"), "ftw", new Vector2(), Color.White); spriteBatch.End(); This does not cause a NRE. hmm....

  • null reference problems with c#

    - by alex
    Hi: In one of my window form, I created an instance of a class to do some works in the background. I wanted to capture the debug messages in that class and displayed in the textbox in the window form. Here is what I did: class A //window form class { public void startBackGroundTask() { B backGroundTask = new B(this); } public void updateTextBox(string data) { if (data != null) { if (this.Textbox.InvokeRequired) { appendUIDelegate updateDelegate = new appendUIDelegate(updateUI); try { this.Invoke(updateDelegate, data); } catch (Exception e) { Console.WriteLine(e.Message); } } else { updateUI(data); } } } private void updateUI(string data) { if (this.Textbox.InvokeRequired) { this.Textbox.Invoke(new appendUIDelegate(this.updateUI), data); } else { //update the text box this.Textbox.AppendText(data); this.Textbox.AppendText(Environment.NewLine); } } private delegate void appendUIDelegate(string data); } class B // background task { A curUI; public b( A UI) { curUI = UI; } private void test() { //do some works here then log the debug message to UI. curUI.updateTextBox("message); } } I keep getting a null reference exception after this.Invoke(updateDelegate, data); is called. I know passing "this" as a parameter is strange. But I want to send the debug message to my window form. Please help. Thanks

I have placed one textbox(txtPassword) and one button(btnLogin) control in the Div which will be shown by the jQueryDialog.But in btnLogin's Click event, I am not able to read the Text value entered in the textbox txtPassword The below is my code <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <br /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtModelId" runat="server" Text=""></asp:TextBox><br /> <asp:Button ID="btnGo" runat="server" Text="Go" OnClick="btnGo_Click" /> <br /> <asp:Label ID="lblUserMsg" runat="server" Text="Label"></asp:Label></div> <div id="divContentHolder"> <div class="demo"> <div id="dialog" title="Login with your TradeIn Account"> <p id="validateTips">Enter your EmailId & password</p> <fieldset> <label for="email">Email</label> <asp:TextBox ID="txtEmail" CssClass="text ui-widget-content ui-corner-all" runat="server" ></asp:TextBox> <label for="password"> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" Text="sample"></asp:TextBox>Password</label> <asp:TextBox ID="txtPassword" CssClass="text ui-widget-content ui-corner-all" runat="server" ></asp:TextBox> <asp:Button ID="btnLogin" runat="server" Text="Login" OnClick="btnLogin_Click" UseSubmitBehavior="false"/> </fieldset> </div><!--dialog--> </div><!--demo--> </div><!--divContentHolder--> </form> Server side Code protected void btnGo_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { CheckUserLoggedIn(); } private void CheckUserLoggedIn() { if (Session["username"] != null) { Response.Write("Logged in user"); ClientScript.RegisterHiddenField("isAuthenticated", "true"); } else { ClientScript.RegisterHiddenField("isAuthenticated", "false"); } } protected void btnLogin_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string txtSample= TextBox1.Text; // this is showing the value 'sample' string txtPass= txtPassword.Text; // this is showing null if (txtPass == "shyju") { Session["username"] = txtPassword.Text; Response.Redirect("TestingModal.aspx"); } } My java script code to render the dialog $(function() { var name = $("#name"), email = $("#email"), password = $("#password"), allFields = $([]).add(name).add(email).add(password), tips = $("#validateTips"); function updateTips(t) { tips.text(t).effect("highlight",{},1500); } function checkLength(o,n,min,max) { if ( o.val().length > max || o.val().length < min ) { o.addClass('ui-state-error'); updateTips("Length of " + n + " must be between "+min+" and "+max+"."); return false; } else { return true; } } function checkRegexp(o,regexp,n) { if ( !( regexp.test( o.val() ) ) ) { o.addClass('ui-state-error'); updateTips(n); return false; } else { return true; } } $("#dialog").dialog({ bgiframe: true, autoOpen: false, height: 300, modal: true, buttons: { 'Create an account': function() { var bValid = true; allFields.removeClass('ui-state-error'); bValid=true; if (bValid) { /*$('#users tbody').append('<tr>' + '<td>' + name.val() + '</td>' + '<td>' + email.val() + '</td>' + '<td>' + password.val() + '</td>' + '</tr>'); */ alert("Check User Credentials") $(this).dialog('close'); } }, Cancel: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } }, close: function() { allFields.val('').removeClass('ui-state-error'); } }); $('#create-user').click(function() { $('#dialog').dialog('open'); }) .hover( function(){ $(this).addClass("ui-state-hover"); }, function(){ $(this).removeClass("ui-state-hover"); } ).mousedown(function(){ $(this).addClass("ui-state-active"); }) .mouseup(function(){ $(this).removeClass("ui-state-active"); }); var isAuthenticated = $("#isAuthenticated").val(); if (isAuthenticated && isAuthenticated == "false") { // Display the modal dialog. $("#dialog").dialog("open"); } }); I had hard coded the text properties value of TextBox1 as 'sample' in the HTML part of my ASPX file .In button click event i am getting it.But the other textbox,txtPassword 's Text property is giving me null value Please guide me to go ahead Thanks in advance

  • Autotools automatic invocation of lcov after 'make check'

    - by disown
    I have successfully set up an autotools project where the tests compiles with instrumentation so I can get a test coverage report. I can get the report by running lcov in the source dir after a successful 'make check'. I now face the problem that I want to automate this step. I would like to add this to 'make check' or to make it a separate goal 'make check-coverage'. Ideally I would like to parse the result and fail if the coverage falls below a certain percentage. Problem is that I cannot figure out how to add a custom target at all. The closest I got was finding this example autotools config, but I can't see where in that project the goal 'make lcov' is added. I can only see some configure flags in m4/auxdevel.m4. Any tips?

  • How Can I Check an Object to See its Type and Return A Casted Object

    - by Russ Bradberry
    I have method to which I pass an object. In this method I check it's type and depending on the type I do something with it and return a Long. I have tried every which way I can think of to do this and I always get several compiler errors telling me it expects a certain object but gets another. Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong and guide me in the right direction? What I have tried thus far is below: override def getInteger(obj:Object) = { if (obj.isInstanceOf[Object]) null else if (obj.isInstanceOf[Number]) (obj:Number).longValue() else if (obj.isInstanceOf[Boolean]) if (obj:Boolean) 1 else 0 else if (obj.isInstanceOf[String]) if ((obj:String).length == 0 | (obj:String) == "null") null else try { Long.parse(obj:String) } catch { case e: Exception => throw new ValueConverterException("value \"" + obj.toString() + "\" of type " + obj.getClass().getName() + " is not convertible to Long") } }

  • JSF : Better way to check for existence of <h:message for="id"/>

    - by user552809
    I have a form in which validation error message needs to be displayed below the input elements. The error needs to be highlighted by showing an error bubble around the error message and the input text. To achieve this, I need to check for the existence of h:messages for individual elements. I am able to check for the existence of global error messages as follows <h:panelGroup rendered="#{not empty facesContext.messages}"> </h:panelGroup> How I can check the same for specific client id (say first name). So something like faceContent.messages("creditCardNo") A solution I have currently is to create a custom resolver but was wondering if there is a better solution.

  • JScript JSON Object Check

    - by George
    I'm trying to check if json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] exists or not when in some instances json[0]['DATA']['name'] contains nothing. I can check json[0]['DATA']['name'] using if (json[0]['DATA']['name'] == '') { // DOES NOT EXIST } however if (json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == '' || json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] == 'undefined') { // DOES NOT EXIST } returns json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA'] is null or not an object. I understand this is because the array 'name' doesn't contain anything in this case, but in other cases first_0 does exist and json[0]['DATA']['name'] does return a value. Is there a way that I can check json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] directly without having to do the following? if (json[0]['DATA']['name'] == '') { if (json[0]['DATA']['name'][0]['DATA']['first_0'] != 'undefined') { // OBJECT EXISTS } }

  • Can't check more than one RadioButton across multiple items in a Treeview

    - by Mike Johnston
    I’m using a TreeView control to present a list of Questions. Using the Prism.DataTemplateSelector, I'm loading a View (.xaml file) that represents a single Question into each node in the TreeView. In the View for that question is a ListBox containing RadioButtons (one for each item in a Picklist object that the ListBox is bound to). The radio buttons work as expected for the question, but when I check a RadioButton on another node/question in the TreeView, the check for the button in the Question I was editing before disappears. In other words, I'm only able to check one RadioButton in the whole list of Questions/Items bound to the containing TreeView. How do I group the RadioButtons in the ListBox to the scope of the single question instead of all the questions in the TreeView.

  • Deserialized xml - check if has child nodes without knowing specific type

    - by AndyC
    I have deserialized an xml file into a C# object and have an "object" containing a specific node I have selected from this file. I need to check if this node has child nodes. I do not know the specific type of the object at any given time. At the moment I am just re-serializing the object into a string, and loading it into an XmlDocument before checking the HasChildNodes property, however when I have thousands of nodes to check this is extremely resource intensive and slow. Can anyone think of a better way I can check if the object I have contains child nodes? Many thanks :)

  • how use ASP.NET_SessionId cookies to check timeout for 2 different web applications

    - by user553858
    Hi All I am developing 2 web applications based on "ASP.NET_SessionId" cookies to check session timeout and also to logout : protected void Session_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (Context.Session != null) { //check the IsNewSession value, this will tell us if the session has been reset if (Session.IsNewSession) { string cookie = Request.Headers["Cookie"]; // Code that runs when a new session is started if ((null != cookie) && (cookie.IndexOf("ASP.NET_SessionId") >= 0)) { if (Request.QueryString["timeout"] == null || !Request.QueryString["timeout"].ToString().Equals("yes")) Session.Abandon(); Session.Clear(); Response.Redirect("Login.aspx?timeout=yes"); } } } } This works fine for my first application. When implementing the same logic for the 2nd application when I press logout in one application, the second application is redirected to the login page. How can I fix this? Best regards

  • TFS 2008 ignores team project check-in settings

    - by JoshEarl
    I'm trying to set up our TFS 2008 instance to require that projects build before they can be checked in. I have created a check-in policy using the out of the box "Builds" policy, but I'm still able to check broken projects in after mangling the code and attempting to build the project. We're a small shop, and TFS was originally set up with our team's Active Directory group listed as TFS admins. Is this the problem? Do check-in policies apply to TFS admins? Any other suggestions?

  • Check if a symlink has changed

    - by BCS
    I have a daemon that, when it's started, loads its data from a directory that happens to be a symlink. Periodically, new data is generated and the symlink updated. I want a bash script that will check if the current symlink is the same as the old one (that the daemon started with) and if not, restart the daemon. My current thought is: if [[ ! -e $old_dir || $(readlink "$data_dir") == $(readlink "$old_dir") ]]; then echo restart ... ln "$(readlink "$data_dir")" "$old_dir" -sf else echo no restart fi The abstract requirement is: each time the script runs, it needs to check if a symlink on a given path now points to a something other than it did the last time and if so do something. (The alternative would be to check if the data at the path has changed but I don't see that being any cleaner.) My questions: Is this a good approach? Does anyone have a better idea? Where should I put $old_dir?
