  • Special parameters for texture binding?

    - by user146780
    Do I have to set up my gl context in a certain way to bind textures. I'm following a tutorial. I start by doing: #define checkImageWidth 64 #define checkImageHeight 64 static GLubyte checkImage[checkImageHeight][checkImageWidth][4]; static GLuint texName; void makeCheckImage(void) { int i, j, c; for (i = 0; i < checkImageHeight; i++) { for (j = 0; j < checkImageWidth; j++) { c = ((((i&0x8)==0)^((j&0x8))==0))*255; checkImage[i][j][0] = (GLubyte) c; checkImage[i][j][1] = (GLubyte) c; checkImage[i][j][2] = (GLubyte) c; checkImage[i][j][3] = (GLubyte) 255; } } } void initt(void) { glClearColor (0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0); makeCheckImage(); glPixelStorei(GL_UNPACK_ALIGNMENT, 1); glGenTextures(1, &texName); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, texName); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_WRAP_S, GL_REPEAT); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_WRAP_T, GL_REPEAT); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MAG_FILTER, GL_NEAREST); glTexParameteri(GL_TEXTURE_2D, GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, GL_NEAREST); glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGBA, checkImageWidth, checkImageHeight, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, checkImage); engineGL.current.tex = texName; } In my rendering I do: PolygonTesselator.Begin_Contour(); glEnable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); glTexEnvf(GL_TEXTURE_ENV, GL_TEXTURE_ENV_MODE, GL_DECAL); glBindTexture(GL_TEXTURE_2D, current.tex); if(layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Contour[c].DrawingPoints.size() > 0) { glColor4f( layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Color.r, layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Color.g, layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Color.b, layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Color.a); } for(unsigned int j = 0; j < layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Contour[c].DrawingPoints.size(); ++j) { gluTessVertex(PolygonTesselator.tobj,&layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Contour[c].DrawingPoints[j][0], &layer[currentlayer].Shapes[i].Contour[c].DrawingPoints[j][0]); } PolygonTesselator.End_Contour(); } glDisable(GL_TEXTURE_2D); } However it still renders the color and not the texture at all. I'd atleast expect to see black or something but its as if the bind fails. Am I missing something? Thanks

  • When is a parameterized method call useful?

    - by johann-christoph-jacob
A Java method call may be parameterized like in the following code: class Test { <T> void test() { } public static void main(String[] args) { new Test().<Object>test(); // ^^^^^^^^ } } I found out this is possible from the Eclipse Java Formatter settings dialog and wondered if there are any cases where this is useful or required.

  • FillRect won't draw anything

    - by kaykun
    I'm trying to create a simple window in Win32 and draw a rectangle in it, but for some reason FillRect isn't working for me. Here's my source: #include <windows.h> #include "resource.h" RECT rect; LRESULT CALLBACK WndProc(HWND hWnd, UINT msg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam) { static PAINTSTRUCT ps; static HDC hDC; switch(msg) { case WM_PAINT: hDC = BeginPaint(hWnd, &ps); FillRect(hDC, &rect, (HBRUSH)(COLOR_WINDOW+1)); EndPaint(hWnd, &ps); break; case WM_CLOSE: DestroyWindow(hWnd); break; case WM_DESTROY: PostQuitMessage(0); break; default: return DefWindowProc(hWnd, msg, wParam, lParam); } return 0; } int WINAPI WinMain(HINSTANCE hInstance, HINSTANCE hPrevInstance, LPSTR lpCmdLine, int nCmdShow) { WNDCLASSEX wc; HWND hWnd; MSG msg; rect.left = 0; rect.right = 0; rect.top = 100; rect.bottom = 100; wc.cbSize = sizeof(WNDCLASSEX); wc.style = 0; wc.lpfnWndProc = WndProc; wc.cbClsExtra = 0; wc.cbWndExtra = 0; wc.hInstance = hInstance; wc.hIcon = LoadIcon(NULL, IDI_APPLICATION); wc.hCursor = LoadCursor(NULL, IDC_ARROW); wc.hbrBackground = (HBRUSH)(COLOR_ACTIVEBORDER+1); wc.lpszMenuName = MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDR_MAIN_MENU); wc.lpszClassName = "Main"; wc.hIconSm = LoadIcon(NULL, IDI_APPLICATION); RegisterClassEx(&wc); hWnd = CreateWindowEx(NULL, "Main", "Main", WS_SYSMENU | WS_MINIMIZEBOX, CW_USEDEFAULT, CW_USEDEFAULT, 240, 360, NULL, NULL, hInstance, NULL); ShowWindow(hWnd, nCmdShow); UpdateWindow(hWnd); while(GetMessage(&msg, NULL, 0, 0) > 0) { TranslateMessage(&msg); DispatchMessage(&msg); } return msg.wParam; } Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong in my code? Thanks in advance

  • Android Progress Dialog not showing

    - by ilomambo
This is the handler, in the main Thread, which shows and dismisses a progress dialog. public static final int SHOW = 0; public static final int DISMISS = 1; public Handler pdHandler = new Handler() { @Override public void handleMessage(Message msg) { Log.i(TAG, "+ handleMessage(msg:" + msg + ")"); switch(msg.what) { case SHOW: pd = ProgressDialog.show(LogViewer.this, "", getText(R.string.loading_msg), true); break; case DISMISS: if(pd != null) { pd.dismiss(); pd = null; } break; } } }; The message to show the progress is: pdHandler.sendMessage(pdHandler.obtainMessage(SHOW)); The message to dismiss it is: pdHandler.sendMessage(pdHandler.obtainMessage(DISMISS)); It works well when I call it before I start an AsyncTask, the AsyncTask onPostExecute() dismisses it. But when it runs within a runnable (runOnUiThread), the dialog does not show. Examining the pd variable on the debugger, it shows that is is created, it is running and it is visible, but in practice it is not visible. Any suggestion? UPDATE: I did the obvious test I should have done in the first place. I commented the DISMISS message. And the progress dialog did show up. It appeared too late, after the runnable was finished. I undestand now that the DISMISS message did dismiss the not-yet-visible ProgressDialog, that's why I did not see it. The question becomes now: I need the ProgressDialog to show BEFORE the runnable code is executed. And it is not so straight forward. My call hierarchy is like this: onScrollEventChanged --> runOnUiThread ( --> checkScrollLimits --> if need to scroll show ProgressDialog "Loading" get new data into table dismiss ProgressDIalog ) I tried something like this: onScrollEventChanged --> checkScrollLimits --> if need to scroll show ProgressDialog "Loading" --> runOnUiThread ( get new data into table dismiss ProgressDIalog ) But still the dismiss message got there before the ProgressDialog could show. According to Logcat there is a five second interval between the arrival of the SHOW message and the arrival of the DISMISS message. UPDATE II: I though I will use the isShowing() method of ProgressDIalog pd = ProgressDialog.show(...) while(!pd.isShowing()); But it does not help at all, it returns true even if the dialog is not showing yet.

  • Implementing a Cakephp Model using an Array

    - by Zubin
The CakePHP Cookbook states that a Model can use a file (csv for example) instead of an actual database table but I couldn't find any implementation for it. I was wondering if it is possible to use an Array of data as a model in CakePHP since I have a fairly static set of data which is important to me in a relationship with another table but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to create a complete table for it. Is it possible to implement a CakePHP Model using an Array?

  • ASP Classic and JavaScript check for session status

    - by StealthRT
I am in need of some help with trying to figure out how to go about checking the users session and seeing if they are still logged in or not. The problem being is because i have a static page that pretty much loads everything into "tabs" using jquery. So when the user navigates the page, it really never leaves that same page they started out on. Hints my problem in trying to determine if they are still logged in or not when they click on update their information on their profile or whatnot.

  • Nonblocking io webserver/framework for java

    - by SeekingNonblockingIo
Does anyone know of any node.js style webserver framework for java? I realized that having nonblocking callback behavior while handling a web request will require deep support at the webserver level. I am interested in node.js, but when I have a web server that ends up persisting data, I would like to take advantage of the static type system that Java offers. However, I want the scalability of non-blocking io.

  • Dynamic swappable Data Access Layer

    - by Andy
I'm writing a data driven WPF client. The client will typically pull data from a WCF service, which queries a SQL db, but I'd like the option to pull the data directly from SQL or other arbitrary data sources. I've come up with this design and would like to hear your opinion on whether it is the best design. First, we have some data object we'd like to extract from SQL. // The Data Object with a single property public class Customer { private string m_Name = string.Empty; public string Name { get { return m_Name; } set { m_Name = value;} } } Then I plan on using an interface which all data access layers should implement. Suppose one could also use an abstract class. Thoughts? // The interface with a single method interface ICustomerFacade { List<Customer> GetAll(); } One can create a SQL implementation. // Sql Implementation public class SqlCustomrFacade : ICustomerFacade { public List<Customer> GetAll() { // Query SQL db and return something useful // ... return new List<Customer>(); } } We can also create a WCF implementation. The problem with WCF is is that it doesn't use the same data object. It creates its own local version, so we would have to copy the details over somehow. I suppose one could use reflection to copy the values of similar fields across. Thoughts? // Wcf Implementation public class WcfCustomrFacade : ICustomerFacade { public List<Customer> GetAll() { // Get date from the Wcf Service (not defined here) List<WcfService.Customer> wcfCustomers = wcfService.GetAllCustomers(); // The list we're going to return List<Customer> customers = new List<Customer>(); // This is horrible foreach(WcfService.Customer wcfCustomer in wcfCustomers) { Customer customer = new Customer(); customer.Name = wcfCustomer.Name; customers.Add(customer); } return customers; } } I also plan on using a factory to decide which facade to use. // Factory pattern public class FacadeFactory() { public static ICustomerFacade CreateCustomerFacade() { // Determine the facade to use if (ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DAL"] == "Sql") return new SqlCustomrFacade(); else return new WcfCustomrFacade(); } } This is how the DAL would typically be used. // Test application public class MyApp { public static void Main() { ICustomerFacade cf = FacadeFactory.CreateCustomerFacade(); cf.GetAll(); } } I appreciate your thoughts and time.

  • How to "grep" out specific lline ranges of a file

    - by Mike
There are often times I'll grep -l whatev file to find what I'm looking for. Say the output is 1234: whatev 1 5555: whatev 2 6643: whatev 3 If I want to then just extract the lines between 1234 and 5555, is there a tool to do that? For static files I have a script that does wc -l of the file and then does the math to split it out with tail & head but that doesn't work out so well with log files that are constantly being written to.
