    Ometa is "a new object-oriented language for pattern matching." I've encountered pattern matching in languages like Oz tools to parse grammars like Lexx/Yacc or Pyparsing before. Despite looking at example code, reading discussions, and talking to a friend, I still am not able to get a real understanding of what makes Ometa special (or at least, why some people think it is).   • Trouble cross-referencing two XML child nodes in AS3

    I am building a mini language translator out of XML nodes and Actionscript 3. I have my XML ready. It contains a series of nodes with two children in them. Here is a sample: <translations> <entry> <english>man</english> <cockney>geeza</cockney> </entry> <entry> <english>woman</english> <cockney>lily</cockney> </entry> </translations> The AS3 part consist of one input box named "textfield_txt" where the English word will be typed in. An output text field for the translation called "cockney_txt". Finally, one button to execute the translation called "generate_mc". The idea is to have actionscript look through the XML for key English words after the user types it in the "textfield", cross-freferences the children then returns the Cockney translation as a value. The trouble is, when I test it I get no response or error messages- it's completely silent. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. At present, I have setup a conditional statement to tell me whether the function works or not. The result is, no it's not! Here's the code below. I hope someone can help.     I'm trying to export 2 values from every single item from the combo box field. I have found two methods to insert items into a combo box: 1) insertItemAt http://www.verypdf.com/document/acrobat-forms-javascript/pg_0048.htm 2) setItems http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9/Acrobat9_HTMLHelp/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Acrobat9_HTMLHelp&file=JS_API_AcroJS.88.748.html but neither method allows two parameters (im always get "missing ) after argument list" error from the Acrobat JavaScript Debugger) Does anyone know of a better solution for this problem?     Hello, is there a way to hack bugs related to adding an AWT component (in my case a PApplet, so a processing language sketch) inside a JInternalFrame? It works but not as intended, since it flickers and dragging the frame causes repaint issues.. reading around it seems that, althrough it's possible to mix heavyweight (AWT) and lightweight (Swing) components some problems seem to be unavoidable.. is it true?   • Clickonce installation fails after addition of WCF service project

    So I have a winform solution, deployed via clickonce. Eveything worked fine until i added a WCF project. (see error in parsing the manifest file at end of post) Now I notice that MSBuild compiles the service into a _PublishedWebsites dir. I don't know what the need for this is, but I am suspecting this is the cause of the problem. This wcf project references some other projects within the solution. I am actually hosting the wcf service within the application so I don't really need MSBuild to do all this for me.     With the environment variable %allusersprofile% I can get the directory where common settings are stored. But most programs store their settings in the sub-folder "anwendungsdaten" (German, application data). Is there a way to get the direct path to this folder? The problem is that its name is language dependent. Thanks.

    Hi, I am trying get float value with UITextField. On the simulator V3.1.3 in English, I have to use '.' to separate my float values. But on my Iphone 3GS V3.1.3 in French, I have to use ',' to separate them. If I use '.' on my Iphone 3GS, my float is troncated : 3.22222 = 3.0000000 Is there a solution to detect the language version and use the good separator automaticaly?

Clearly they're functions, but I was wondering if there's a more specific term.     Ruby Enterprise Edition fails to compile from sources with GCC 4.5, but sucessfully compiles with 4.3.3. Actually, not sure if it's about GCC, but, in fact, i686 Arch linux system with laest updates won't compile RE.   • Creating an empty Drawable in Android

    Creating a Drawable that is completely empty seems like a common need, as a place holder, initial state, etc., but there doesn't seem to be a good way to do this... at least in XML. Several places refer to the system resource @android:drawable/empty but as far as I can tell (i.e., it's not in the reference docs, and aapt chokes saying that it can't find the resource) this doesn't exist. Is there a general way of referencing an empty Drawable, or do you end up creating a fake empty PNG for each project?
