  • How can I keep curl output out of mail from my cronjob?

    I have written a Perl script that runs as a daily crontab job that uploads files to Amazon S3 via CURL. I want the output of the cron job emailed to me which works fine but I don't want that email to include messages related to the CURL upload (only those message my script is outputting).   • Why does my DIV clip its child DIV when jQuery moves it in IE?

    I have two divs, both with position:absolute;, one inside the other. The parent isn't in a place where it can be set as position:relative without an extra layer of complexity (there are a lot of other elements around it that I'd have to account for to put it where it needs to be, which is at the very top of the page, over everything). The child element is made to stick off the bottom of the parent. In Chrome, Safari, Firefox, it all works splendidly. In IE, it works until jQuery moves the parent element - at which point the parent element clips the child, so you can barely see the top of the child. I feel like I've read about this, about IE clipping child elements, but I can't seem to find an answer that applies to my case.     hello, my main question is as follows: how to show only the first subchild of a ul or li upon clicking the enclosing parent. eg: <ul> Grandparent <li> Child1 <li> Grandchild11</li></li> <li> Child2 <li>GrandChild21</li><li>grandchild22</li></li> </ul> so, for example I would like something to the effect of <script> $('ul').click(function(){ $('ul').children('first li').toggle() }); $('li').click(function(){ $('li').children('first li').toggle() }); </script> meaning: when i click ul, i only see the first child node (child1 and child2 will be shown, but not the grandchildren). when i click child1 or child2 i see the respective grandchild. grandchild is not shown upon clicking grandparent, only upon clicking child1 or child2. i know i am reinventing the wheel of some pre-coded solution, but any help would be largely appreciated!

    I am new to webpage design and MVC. I have a aspx page and I have a html image. I want to change this image and make it clickable so that it will refresh only the bottom half of the page when clicked. I setup my image so that the source of the image is updated by the controller. By using the following src="<%=ViewData["BookImg"] %>" So that the whole story is clear. When a person clicks on the image of the book, it displays on the bottom half of the page information about that book pulled from a sql database. I am thinking that I would need to look into getting ajax implemented so that I can do partial page update. But the question is how do I change that HTML image into a button.   • jQuery slideToggle jump on close

    Hi, I'm trying to slideToggle a in a table with jQuery and it works in FF, OP, CHrome. Only IE (6,7,8) is giving me problems. It slides down perfectly down and up, but after the slide up animation is finished. The hidden pops up in full height and then closes. So I guess it must be somwhere inbetween when it switches from a minimal height to "display:none" that it appears for a short second. The other file is in a different directory and is as follows: //this is testid.php include '../../joomla/testy.php'; echo $id; However, and here is the rub, when I change the "echo" to a "return" and put the second code snippet inside my Flex 4 Data Service script file, like this... function getUserId() { include '../../joomla/testy.php'; return $id; } ...I get a Flex error that says this: Fatal error: Class 'JRequest' not found in /var/www/html/joomla/libraries/joomla/import.php on line 33 I am extremely confused by this error and would appreciate any suggestions that the stackoverflow community may have.   • how can you have the same form handle by javascript multiple times on the same page?

    I have a thumb gallery where I am using ajax/javascript to submit a form per image to report the image as broken seamlessly along with php. The form and script is templated so the script is in the header and then the form is printed multiple times on the same page with a hidden field with a different id for the value per thumb. So basically this is what i have. javascript in header just a quick idea of the forms i have. Just a quick idea not what I actually have. image1 followed by the form image2 followed by the form So when you hit the button it basically submits all of the forms at the same time. I am sure it can be fixed with a (this) or something like that so it only submits a single form at a time.   • Accessing the calling object into ajax response... (not the ajax call)

    I have an object of type Application (defined by me). Whenever an object of this type is created, it automatically loads a php file say "start.php" using jquery ajax and assign the response to a div say "Respo". Now what i want is to access the Application object from that Respo div. Unfortunately, i have no clue how to do this... in my ajax call: function Application(options) { ....... var appObj=this; $.ajax({ url:appObj.location, //Already defined success:function(data) { $("#respo").html(data); } }); } Now in my Respo division i want to access that Application object... I tried: alert(this) but it resulted in an object of DOMWindow... i tried editing success function as: function Application(options) { ....... var appObj=this; $.ajax({ url:appObj.location, //Already defined success:function(data) { $("#respo").html("<script type='text/javascript'>var Self="+appObj+"</script>"); $("#respo").html(data); } }); } But i ended nowhere. :( Although if i assign "var Self='nishchay';" then alerting Self from start.php gives nishchay but i am not able to assign the calling object of Application type to the Self variable. It is the only way I cud think of. :\ Please help me... actually my object has some editing functions to control itself - its look and feel and some other options.   • What could trigger a change of http status to 500 on the client's end?

    We have a PHP web application that posts data to itself, and either displays an updated page based on that data, or redirects to another page. An example of this is a script with a paged list on it, where clicking on the Next link causes a post to the same page, which then returns an updated version of the page showing the new set of list items. One client is reporting that IE is displaying friendly error messages when the page updates itself instead of the correct behavior of displaying the updated page. Turning friendly error messages off "corrects" this problem, and displays the updated page normally, indicating no actual server error occurred. When testing from any location other than this client's our web app does not produce any http error statuses, and in this specific situation only produces 200 statuses. (According to Fiddler.) What could be interfering with the HTTP POST and changing the response's http status code to 500 (or another code that would trigger friendly errors in IE)? Are there certain proxies or other network tools that could be misconfigured or buggy in this manner? Is there any way we can alter our application (apart from avoiding posts to the same script, which is not feasible) to get around this misbehavior?

To fetch 2000 records full query take 21 seconds and if I remove Subquiries it just take 4 seconds. I have tried to optimize query using 'Database Engine Tuning Advisor' and on adding new advised indexes and statistics but these changes make query time even bad. Note: As I have mentioned that this is test data to explain my question the real data has lot of tables joins columns but without Sub-Query the results us fine. Any help thanks.

    I am using Devel::LeakTrace::Fast to debug a memory leak in a perl script designed as a daemon which runs an infinite loop with sleeps until interrupted. I am having some trouble both reading the output and finding documentation to help me understand the output. The perldoc doesn't contain much information on the output. Most of it makes sense, such as pointing to globals in DBI. Intermingled with the output, however, are several leaked SV(<LOCATION>) from (eval #) line # Where the numbers are numbers and <LOCATION> is a location in memory. The script itself is not using eval at any point - I have not investigated each used module to see if evals are present. Mostly what I want to know is how to find these evals (if possible). I also find the following entries repeated over and over again leaked SV(<LOCATION>) from line # Where line # is always the same #. Not very helpful in tracking down what file that line is in.

    I couldn't find a similar question, that's why here it is: Whats the best way to hide or encrypt an email link in a website, so that a crawler can't read it, but the user can nevertheless click it? I don't want to conufse the users by typing the email like this: john (at) mail.com or similar ways. (and i think this kind of links can nevertheless read by crawlers?)     I use a GridView to display the records from the database. Also i've attached a Hyperlink to the GridView using TemplateField. When I try to add "onclick" attribute to the HyperLink inside the RowDateBound event, I get the following error..     My code: class User < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :university end class University < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :users, dependent: :destroy end and my model User has a university_id attribute.   • JSON Array Created in PHP/MySQL incorrectly decoded using JQuery

    I am attempting to make an AJAX call to a very small PHP script that should return me an array that could be echo'd and decoded using JQuery. Here is what I have: My PHP page called to by AJAX: $web_q=mysql_query("select * from sec_u_g where uid='$id' "); $rs = array(); while($rs[] = mysql_fetch_assoc($web_q)) { } print_r(json_encode($rs)); This outputs: [{"id":"3","uid":"39","gid":"16"},{"id":"4","uid":"39","gid":"4"},{"id":"5","uid":"39","gid":"5"},{"id":"6","uid":"39","gid":"6"},{"id":"7","uid":"39","gid":"7"},{"id":"8","uid":"39","gid":"8"},{"id":"9","uid":"39","gid":"9"},false] I don't understand the "false" at the end for one .. But then I send to to JQuery and use: $.each(json.result, function(i, object) { $.each(object, function(property, value) { alert(property + "=" + value); }); }); This just fails. I try to alert "result" by itself which is set by: $.post("get_ug.php",{id:txt},function(result){ }); My output alerts are as follows: 1) The key is '0' and the value is '[' 2) The key is '1' and the value is 'f' 3) The key is '2' and the value is 'a' 4) The key is '3' and the value is 'l' 5) The key is '4' and the value is 's' 6) The key is '5' and the value is 'e' 7) The key is '6' and the value is ']' 8) The key is '7' and the value is ' ' (<-- Yes the line break is there in the alert) I am exhausted from trying different ideas and scripts. Other than setting a delimiter myself and concatenating my own array and decoding it with a custom script, does anyone have any ideas?? Thank you!!
