  • Gallery items become off-center when switching into landscape orientation.

    - by Sandile
    Hey Guys, Thanks for your time. I'm writing an application for android 2.2 and I'm using a gallery to circulate through a list of images that the user can then click to navigate other portions of the application. In portrait orientation, everything is kosher: the images are displaying correctly (completely in the center of the screen as I intended); however, in landscape orientation, all the images in the gallery are strangely displaced a fixed distance to the left of the center of the screen. I've been researching this issue for hours now and haven't found a solution. I'm hoping that some android guru can aid me in the resolution of this bizarre rendering issue. MainMenuActivity.java relevant code snippet (the activity in which the gallery resides) Gallery optionList = (Gallery)findViewById(R.id.mainMenuOptionList); GalleryItem[] optionListItemIdArray = new GalleryItem[] { new GalleryItem(R.drawable.icon_main_menu_option_list_blackboard, "Start Next Lesson", "Start the next planned vocab lesson."), new GalleryItem(R.drawable.icon_main_menu_option_list_index_cards, "Review Words", "Manually look over old words."), new GalleryItem(R.drawable.icon_main_menu_option_list_dice, "Play Vocab Games", "Play games to reinforce knowledge."), new GalleryItem(R.drawable.icon_main_menu_option_list_calendar, "View Lesson Plan", "View the schedule for coming lessons."), new GalleryItem(R.drawable.icon_main_menu_option_list_pie_chart, "View Performance Report", "Evaluate your overall performance statistics."), new GalleryItem(R.drawable.icon_main_menu_option_list_settings, "Manage Settings", "Change and modify application settings.") }; optionList.setAdapter(new GalleryImageAdapter(this, optionListItemIdArray)); NOTE: A GalleryItem is a POJO with an image resource id, title and description. GalleryImageAdapter.java: public class GalleryImageAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private Context context; private GalleryItem[] galleryItemArray; public GalleryImageAdapter(Context context, GalleryItem[] galleryItemArray) { this.context = context; this.galleryItemArray = galleryItemArray; } @Override public int getCount() { return galleryItemArray.length; } @Override public Object getItem(int position) { return position; } @Override public long getItemId(int position) { return position; } @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { ImageView imageView = new ImageView(context); imageView.setImageResource(galleryItemArray[position].getImageId()); imageView.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.FIT_START); • How do I make this scroll layout work?

    - by JuiCe
    I am currently trying to get my UI to have a Title Bar, a bottom Button bar, with a ScrollView in between. I can get bits and pieces of it to work, but once I get a different piece working, the old part goes back to not showing up. Here is a picture of my UI on the left, with what I want it to look like on the right...(sorry for the sloppiness, I edited it in MS Paint :P ) To sum it up, I want the Version and Type fields to be moved with room for the other TextViews in the XML file, and I want both buttons to appear on the bottom bar. EDIT : The buttons on the bottom should be equal in size, I'm not too talented in making boxes in MS Paint EDIT 2 : Sorry....here is my XML file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical" android:weightSum="1.0" > <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" > <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:text="SN : " /> <TextView android:id="@+id/serialNumberView" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" /> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:text="Ver : " /> <TextView android:id="@+id/versionView" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" /> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:text="Type : " /> <TextView android:id="@+id/typeView" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" /> </LinearLayout> <ScrollView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_weight="1" > <LinearLayout android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_weight="1"> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/floatCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Float" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/tripCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Trip" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/closeCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Close" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/blockedCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Blocked" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/hardTripCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Hard Trip" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/phaseAngleCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Phase angle wrong for closing" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/diffVoltsCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Differential volts too low" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/networkVoltsCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Network volts too low to close" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/usingDefaultsCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Using Defaults( Reprogram )" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/relaxedCloseActiveCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Relaxed Close Active" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/commBoardDetectedCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Comm Board Detected" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/antiPumpBlock" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Anti-Pump Block" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/motorCutoffCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Motor Cutoff Inhibit" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/phaseRotationCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Phase Rotation Wrong" /> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/usingDefaultDNPCheck" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text= "Using Default DNP Profile" /> </LinearLayout> </ScrollView> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_weight="1" > <Button android:id="@+id/button3" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="Back" /> <Button android:id="@+id/button3" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:text="Read" /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout>

  • Setting EditText imeOptions to actionNext has no effect

    - by Katedral Pillon
    I have a fairly complex (not really) xml layout file. One of the views is a LinearLayout (v1) with two children: an EditText(v2) and another LinearLayout(v3). The child LinearLayout in turn has an EditText(v4) and an ImageView(v5). For EditText v2 I have imeOptions as android:imeOptions="actionNext" But when I run the app, the keyboard's return does not check to next and I want it to change to next. How do I fix this problem? Also, when user clicks next, I want focus to go to EditText v4. I do I do this? For those who really need to see some code: <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/do_txt_view" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:background="@color/col6" android:orientation="vertical" android:visibility="gone" > <EditText android:id="@+id/gm_title" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_margin="5dp" android:background="@drawable/coldo_text" android:hint="@string/enter_title" android:maxLines="1" android:imeOptions="actionNext" android:padding="5dp" android:textColor="pigc7" android:textSize="ads2" /> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="100dp" android:orientation="horizontal" > <EditText android:id="@+id/rev_text" android:layout_width="0dp" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:layout_margin="5dp" android:layout_weight="1" android:background="@drawable/coldo_text" android:hint="@string/enter_msg" android:maxLines="2" android:padding="5dp" android:textColor="pigc7" android:textSize="ads2" /> <ImageView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:background="@drawable/colbtn_r” android:clickable="true" android:onClick=“clickAct” android:paddingLeft="5dp" android:paddingRight="5dp" android:src="@drawable/abcat” /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout>

  • ListView item won't extend width to fill_parent

    - by slybloty
    I have a custom ViewGroup that inflates a ListView from an xml layout. The list item layout is inflated from another xml file. All of the views are set to fill_parent. The ListView fills its parent, but the ListView items don't. I've tried putting the ListView in a LinearLayout and assigning weight to it. Tried RelativeLayout as well. Also, I've built the ListView programmaticaly, without using the xml layout. Even changed the LayoutParams before adding the view to the ViewGroup. I've also taken in consideration these posts as well: Width of clickable area in ListView w/ onListItemClick, In Android, how can I set a ListView item's height and width?, Android Listview width prob. Any ideas to why the items don't extend to fill width? And how to extend them? MyViewGroup class: public class MyViewGroup extends ViewGroup { public MyViewGroup(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); generateMyViewGroup(); } private void generateMyViewGroup() { ListView main = (ListView) View.inflate(getContext(), R.layout.layout_main, null); main.setAdapter(new MyAdapter(getContext())); this.addView(main); } @Override protected void onLayout(boolean changed, int l, int t, int r, int b) { this.getChildAt(0).layout(l, t, r, b); } } ListView xml layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ListView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@android:id/list" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginRight="3dp" android:background="#77000000" android:cacheColorHint="#00000000" android:divider="#00000000" android:dividerHeight="0dp" android:drawSelectorOnTop="false" android:scrollbars="vertical" > </ListView> ListView item layout: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/layout_main_category" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:background="@color/mainBackground" android:gravity="fill_horizontal|center_vertical" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/main_category" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginLeft="8dp" android:layout_marginRight="8dp" android:paddingBottom="7dp" android:paddingLeft="20dp" android:paddingRight="5dp" android:paddingTop="20dp" android:text="test" android:textColor="@color/mainCategory" android:textSize="15sp" android:textStyle="bold" /> </LinearLayout>

  • Getting an Android App to Show Up in the market for "Sony Internet TV"(Google TV)

    - by user1291659
    I'm having a bit of trouble getting my app to show up in the market under GoogleTV. I've searched google's official documentation and I don't believe the manifest lists any elements which would invalidate the program; the only hardware requirement specified is landscape mode, wakelock and external storage(neither which should cause it to be filtered for GTV according to the documentation) and I set the uses touchscreen elements "required" attribute to false. below is the AndroidManifest.xml for my project: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.whateversoft" android:versionCode="2" android:versionName="0.1" > <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" /> <application android:icon="@drawable/ic_launcher" android:label="Color Shafted" android:theme="@style/Theme.NoBackground" android:debuggable="false"> <activity android:label="Color Shafted" android:name=".colorshafted.ColorShafted" android:configChanges = "keyboard|keyboardHidden|orientation" android:screenOrientation = "landscape"> <!-- Set as the default run activity --> <intent-filter > <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:label="Color Shafted Settings" android:name=".colorshafted.Settings" android:theme="@android:style/Theme" android:configChanges = "keyboard|keyboardHidden"> <!-- --> </activity> </application> <!-- DEFINE PERMISSIONS FOR CAPABILITIES --> <uses-permission android:name = "android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"/> <uses-permission android:name = "android.permission.WAKE_LOCK"/> <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.touchscreen" android:required="false" /> <!-- END OF PERMISSIONS FOR CAPABILITIES --> </manifest> I'm about to start promoting the app after the next major release so its been kind of a bummer since I can't seem to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance : )

    I am new to android development. I created a listview with textbox and checkbox. When I check the checkbox and scroll it down to check some other items in the list view, the older ones are unchecked. How to avoid this problem in listview? Please guide me with my code. Here is the code: main.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <TextView android:id="@+id/TextView01" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="List of items" android:textStyle="normal|bold" android:gravity="center_vertical|center_horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent"></TextView> <ListView android:id="@+id/ListView01" android:layout_height="250px" android:layout_width="fill_parent"> </ListView> <Button android:text="Save" android:id="@+id/btnSave" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> </Button> </LinearLayout> This is the xml page I used to create dynamic list row: listview.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="left|center" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:paddingBottom="5px" android:paddingTop="5px" android:paddingLeft="5px"> <TextView android:id="@+id/TextView01" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center" android:textColor="#FFFF00" android:text="hi"></TextView> <TextView android:text="hello" android:id="@+id/TextView02" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginLeft="10px" android:textColor="#0099CC"></TextView> <EditText android:id="@+id/txtbox" android:layout_width="120px" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textSize="12sp" android:layout_x="211px" android:layout_y="13px"> </EditText> <CheckBox android:id="@+id/chkbox1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout> This is my activity class.   • Hello-World-grade landscape Android app fails to start (complete code included)

    - by WingedCat
    I'm trying to develop a simple Android app, fixed in landscape mode. I am using Eclipse 1.3, compiling for Android SDK version 7 (OS version 2.1). When I try to run it in the emulator, it crashes on boot. (It gets as far as the unlock slider, but shortly after that when trying to launch the application itself, I get "The application Failtest (process com.wcs.failtest) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.".) Here is main.xml (with the tags escaped so this displays properly): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="480px" android:layout_height="320px" > <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="96px" android:layout_height="320px" android:id="@+id/action_menu" > <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="96px" android:layout_height="48px" > <Button android:layout_width="48px" android:layout_height="48px" android:background="#f00" android:id="@+id/action_button_11" /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> Here is AndroidManifest.xml (again with the tags escaped so this displays properly): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.wcs.failtest" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:theme="@android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen"> <activity android:name=".FailtestActivity" android:screenOrientation="landscape" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> </manifest> And here is FailtestActivity.java: package com.wcs.failtest; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.Button; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; import android.view.View; public class FailtestActivity extends Activity { private OnClickListener action11Listener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { } }; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); Button button; button = (Button)findViewById(R.id.action_button_11); button.setOnClickListener(action11Listener); setContentView(R.layout.main); } } I suspect it is something simple I'm overlooking. What is it?

  • Multiple apks, single listing of app for Google TV and Android Phone/Tablet

    - by Yash
    I have an Android phone/tablet apk which is currently in Play store and has these settings in its manifest file: package="com.company.xyz" android:versionCode="0803010008" android:versionName="01.00.08" > <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" android:targetSdkVersion="8" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK" /> <uses-library android:name="com.adobe.flashplayer" android:required="true" /> <supports-screens android:anyDensity="true" android:largeScreens="true" android:normalScreens="true" android:smallScreens="false" android:xlargeScreens="true" /> <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.touchscreen" android:required="true" /> I had uploaded another apk for GoogleTV which has the same package name com.company.xyz as the previous apk and has the following settings in its manifest file: package="com.company.xyz" android:versionCode="1203010001" android:versionName="01.00.01" > <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="12" android:targetSdkVersion="12" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK" /> <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.touchscreen" android:required="false" /> <uses-feature android:name="com.google.android.tv" android:required="true" /> <supports-screens android:largeScreens="true"/> <uses-configuration android:reqFiveWayNav="true" /> The Google TV apk never showed up on Play Store on GTV boxes, so I updated its manifest with the settings below and with everything else remaining the same package="com.company.xyz" android:versionCode="1203010002" android:versionName="01.00.02" > <supports-screens android:largeScreens="true" android:normalScreens="false" android:smallScreens="false" android:xlargeScreens="false" /> At this point, I am unable to save the app because of the Play Store error "Error: New APK version is lower than previous APK version" even though the GoogleTV apk has a higher version code than the Phone/Tablet version. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!

I post my code and an image: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/545/sc20120307161530.png/ xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" > <PreferenceCategory android:key="player_settings" android:title="@string/settings_player_config" > <EditTextPreference android:defaultValue="@string/settings_player_default_name" android:dialogMessage="@string/settings_player_summary" android:dialogTitle="@string/settings_playersname" android:key="player_name" android:summary="@string/settings_player_summary" android:title="@string/settings_playersname" /> </PreferenceCategory> <PreferenceCategory android:key="volume" android:title="@string/settings_volume" > <com.battleship.preferences.SeekBarPreferences android:defaultValue="50" android:key="volume" android:title="@string/settings_volume" /> </PreferenceCategory> <PreferenceCategory android:key="shine" android:title="@string/settings_shine" > <com.battleship.preferences.SeekBarPreferences android:defaultValue="50" android:key="shine" android:title="@string/settings_shine" /> </PreferenceCategory> <PreferenceCategory android:key="themeTitle" android:title="@string/settings_group_themes" > <com.battleship.preferences.ListPreferences android:key="theme" /> </PreferenceCategory> <PreferenceCategory android:key="fontsTitle" android:title="@string/settings_group_font_size" > <com.battleship.preferences.ListPreferences android:key="font" /> </PreferenceCategory> </PreferenceScreen> The Custom ListPreference: package com.battleship.preferences; import com.battleship.R; import android.content.Context; import android.content.SharedPreferences; import android.media.AudioManager; import android.preference.Preference; import android.util.AttributeSet; import android.view.View; import android.view.ViewGroup; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; import android.widget.LinearLayout; import android.widget.ListView; import android.widget.RadioButton; import android.widget.RadioGroup; import android.widget.RadioGroup.OnCheckedChangeListener; import android.widget.Toast; public class ListPreferences extends Preference implements OnCheckedChangeListener { public ListPreferences(Context context) { super(context); } public ListPreferences(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); } public ListPreferences(Context context, AttributeSet attrs, int defStyle) { super(context, attrs, defStyle); } @Override protected void onClick() { super.onClick(); Toast t = Toast.makeText(getContext(), "HOLA!", 3); t.show(); } @Override protected View onCreateView(ViewGroup parent) { String[] contentString = new String[3]; if (getKey().equals("theme")) { contentString = new String[] { (getContext().getString(R.string.settings_theme_default)), (getContext().getString(R.string.settings_theme_black)), (getContext().getString(R.string.settings_theme_white)) }; } else { contentString = new String[] { (getContext().getString(R.string.settings_font_big)), (getContext().getString(R.string.settings_font_medium)), (getContext().getString(R.string.settings_font_little)) }; } ListView listView = new ListView(getContext()); ArrayAdapter<String> array = new ArrayAdapter<String>(getContext(), android.R.layout.simple_list_item_single_choice, android.R.id.text1, contentString); listView.setAdapter(array); listView.setChoiceMode(ListView.CHOICE_MODE_SINGLE); return listView; } private void updatePreference(int intRadio) { SharedPreferences.Editor editor = getEditor(); editor.putInt(getKey(), intRadio); editor.commit(); } }

  • Custom title of PreferenceActivity (problem)

    - by Emerald214
    I have the same problem like this question: Custom title bar in PreferenceActivity ?? After extending PreferenceActivity, I write this code in onCreate(), it just shows a blank grey title. I think it is a bug (because this solution works well with Activity). requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE); getWindow().setFeatureInt(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE, R.layout.window_title); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.main_pref); Edited: window_title.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:background="@color/titleBar" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:paddingLeft="5dip" android:paddingRight="5dip"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/imageView1" android:src="@drawable/megadict_icon" android:layout_height="35dip" android:layout_width="35dip" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical"> </ImageView> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/textView1" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textColor="@color/white" android:textSize="16dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:text="@string/appName" android:paddingLeft="5dip" android:paddingRight="5dip"> </TextView> <ProgressBar style="?android:attr/progressBarStyleSmall" android:id="@+id/progressBar" android:layout_width="28dip" android:layout_height="28dip" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:visibility="invisible"> </ProgressBar> </LinearLayout> main_pref.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:title="@string/mainPrefTitle"> <ListPreference android:entries="@array/languageStrings" android:entryValues="@array/languageValues" android:dialogTitle="@string/languagePrefTitle" android:title="@string/mainPrefTitle" android:key="languagePrefKey"> </ListPreference> </PreferenceScreen>

  • LVM / Device Mapper maps wrong device

    - by DaDaDom
    Hi, I run a LVM setup on a raid1 created by mdadm. md2 is based on sda6 (major:minor 8:6) and sdb6 (8:22). md2 is partition 9:2. The VG on top of md2 has 4 LVs, var, home, usr, tmp. First the problem: While booting it seems as if the device mapper takes the wrong partition for the mapping! Immediately after boot the information is like ~# dmsetup table systemlvm-home: 0 4194304 linear 8:22 384 systemlvm-home: 4194304 16777216 linear 8:22 69206400 systemlvm-home: 20971520 8388608 linear 8:22 119538048 systemlvm-home: 29360128 6291456 linear 8:22 243270016 systemlvm-tmp: 0 2097152 linear 8:22 41943424 systemlvm-usr: 0 10485760 linear 8:22 20971904 systemlvm-var: 0 10485760 linear 8:22 10486144 systemlvm-var: 10485760 6291456 linear 8:22 4194688 systemlvm-var: 16777216 4194304 linear 8:22 44040576 systemlvm-var: 20971520 10485760 linear 8:22 31457664 systemlvm-var: 31457280 20971520 linear 8:22 48234880 systemlvm-var: 52428800 33554432 linear 8:22 85983616 systemlvm-var: 85983232 115343360 linear 8:22 127926656 ~# cat /proc/mdstat Personalities : [raid1] md2 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sda6[0] 151798080 blocks [2/1] [U_] md0 : active raid1 sda1[0] sdb1[1] 96256 blocks [2/2] [UU] md1 : active raid1 sda2[0] sdb2[1] 2931776 blocks [2/2] [UU] I have to manually "lvchange -an" all LVs, add /dev/sdb6 back to the raid and reactivate the LVs, then all is fine. But it prevents me from automounting the partitions and obviously leads to a bunch of other problems. If everything works fine, the information is like ~$ cat /proc/mdstat Personalities : [raid1] md2 : active raid1 sdb6[1] sda6[0] 151798080 blocks [2/2] [UU] ... ~# dmsetup table systemlvm-home: 0 4194304 linear 9:2 384 systemlvm-home: 4194304 16777216 linear 9:2 69206400 systemlvm-home: 20971520 8388608 linear 9:2 119538048 systemlvm-home: 29360128 6291456 linear 9:2 243270016 systemlvm-tmp: 0 2097152 linear 9:2 41943424 systemlvm-usr: 0 10485760 linear 9:2 20971904 systemlvm-var: 0 10485760 linear 9:2 10486144 systemlvm-var: 10485760 6291456 linear 9:2 4194688 systemlvm-var: 16777216 4194304 linear 9:2 44040576 systemlvm-var: 20971520 10485760 linear 9:2 31457664 systemlvm-var: 31457280 20971520 linear 9:2 48234880 systemlvm-var: 52428800 33554432 linear 9:2 85983616 systemlvm-var: 85983232 115343360 linear 9:2 127926656 I think that LVM for some reason just "takes" /dev/sdb6 which is then missing in the raid. I tried almost all options in the lvm.conf but none seems to work. Below is some more information, like config files. Does anyone have any idea about what is going on here and how to prevent that? If you need any additional information, please let me know Thanks in advance!   • Android 4 Fragments with Mono for Android

    - by Wallym
    With the release of Android 3.0, Google added support for larger displays and attention-grabbing UI designs and layouts. On a tablet screen, UI components can be used to present better information. How does Android do this? It has a technology called Fragments, and I'll look at its implementation in the currently shipping operating system, Android 4. (Let's get past all the jokes about Android and fragmentation on its device platform.)For more information on this, check out my article at Visual Studio Magazine - http://visualstudiomagazine.com/articles/2012/12/13/android-4-and-fragments.aspx
