• Compiling and linking libcurl to create a stand alone dll

  Hi, I've managed to compile a dll with the necessary linked libraries (*.lib) and with CURL_STATICLIB set in the preprocessor section among other settings. I'm using "libcurl-7.19.3-win32-ssl-msvc.zip" package and compiling with VS 2008 express. This has been the first version I managed to get compiled properly with no link issues etc. The problem I have now is that my dll needs libcurl.dll to function and this is not ok. My dll needs to be independent. I have no idea how to implement this. I've taken all day just to get what I've got compiled. I've got runtime library set to Multi threaded dll (debug/release) respectively under C/C++ - code generation. I've a number of preprocessor set - CURL_STATICLIB being one of them. Configuration Type is set to Dynamic Library Use of MFC is set to Use MFC in a static library Additional Library Directories is set to the lib folders (debug/release) respectively. I've noticed there is a curllib_static.lib file which I've tried instead of curllib.lib as an additional dependency but it only compiles with the later. This is driving me nuts! So I guess I need some guidance as to how to make my dll completely static so it doesn't have any dependencies. I notice my dll is currently dependent on: CURLLIB.DLL MSVCR90D.DLL As I'm pretty new to C++ it could be a setting I'm missing in VS 2008 but I'm not sure. One person said I should be using a static library with *.a files (libcurl.a) etc but when I do this I get link errors which I haven't been able to resolve. Any guidance here would be much appreciated.

  I am trying to use Intellij's file templates (not live templates) to help mitigate how much boilerplate code I use when making Services, daos, and their interfaces. I am able to use all the system defined variables just fine, such as ${PACKAGE_NAME} What I want though, is to be able to use my own variable names, like ${MY_USER_INPUT} however, when i do this like above, I get an error The documentation says : It is also possible to specify arbitrary number of custom variables in format ${<VARIABLE_NAME>}. and then Intellij is supposed to prompt the user for the value. However, this just plain doesn't work for me. What am I missing?

  Hi. I am developing an Eclipse plug-in and I'd like to associate a new menu (at the top of the screen along with File, Edit etc) with a perspective I'm creating. I did the menu ok but it is being displayed even in other perspectives. How can I associate it only with my perspective? • Using Mapkit to create a local searchable Map

  Using MapKit as a base, I'm planning on adding a map to a project with 'local search' capabilities. I think 'local search' describes the feature I want to design into the map. Here is my vision. The map is displayed on the bottom half of a view. The user's current location is highlighted by default. When the user pushes the 'search' button annotation pins drop onto the map. The search is programmatically fixed to a certain item....for example supermarkets. So supermarkets in a 5 mile radius of the user's current location will populate the map. How would I add this local search feature to the already amazing MapKit? I've learned an incredible amount as a new developer in the last few months, and look forward to learning googles...correction googols more. Thanks in anticipation.

• Using the FreeType lib to create text bitmaps to draw in OpenGL 3.x

  At the moment I not too sure where my problem is. I can draw loaded images as textures no problem, however when I try to generate a bitmap with a char on it I just get a black box. I am confident that the problem is when I generate and upload the texture. Here is the method for that; the top section of the if statement just draws an texture of a image loaded from file (res/texture.jpg) and that draws perfectly. And the else part of the if statement will try to generate and upload a texture with the char (variable char enter) on. I have never worked on linux and dont plan on working on it either - The only command I probably know is "ls" :) I am hosting my website on Eapps and use their cpanel to setup everything so never worked with linux. Now I have this one time case - where I need to provide access to a contractor to fix the CSS issues on my website. He basically needs FTP (read/write) access to certain folders. At a high level - this is my code structure /home/webadmin/example.com/html/images /css /js /login.php /facebook.php /home/webadmin/example.com/application/library /views /models /controllers /config /bootstrap.php /home/webadmin/example.com/cgi-bin I want the new user to be able to have access to only these folders /home/webadmin/example.com/html/js /home/webadmin/example.com/html/css /home/webadmin/example.com/application/views He should not be able to view even the content of other folders including files like bootstrap.php or login.php etc If any sys admins can help me set this account up - will really appreciate it. This index is just a unique auto incrementing value. During the week this number becomes huge!! I was wondering if this is a good setup for the primary key in an innoDB table.   In the question by DKSRathore How to simulate the Out Of memory : Requested array size exceeds VM limit some odd behavior was noted when creating an arrays. When creating an array of size Integer.MAX_VALUE an exception with the error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError Requested array size exceeds VM limit was thrown. However when an array was created with a size less than the max but still above the virtual machine memory limit the error message read java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space. Testing further I managed to narrow down where the error messages changes. long[] l = new long[2147483645]; exceptions message reads - Requested array size exceeds VM limit long[] l = new long[2147483644]; exceptions message reads - Java heap space errors I increased my virtual machine memory and still produced the same result. Has anyone any idea why this happens? Some extra info: Integer.MAX_VALUE = 2147483647. • HT create a new vector in data frame that takes correlation of existing vectors

  I have a time series of two indexes, with each row representing the closing price on the same day. I'd like to go to row 30 and lookback over the last 30 'days' and calculate the pearson correlation. And then store that value in a new vector. Then, repeat the calculation for the entire time series. It is a trivial task in Excel, so I'm convinced it can be done in R. I don't know the method to use though.
