    I've mapped 'example.com' and 'www.example.com' to the same IP address with my hosting service provider. But because my SSL certificate only works for 'www.example.com', so what I want is when the user visit 'example.com', he will be redirected to 'www.example.com'. I'm using ASP.Net MVC and IIS 7.   • Rails time zones

    I'm calling an external web service API that returns a timezone as listed in the Olson timezones database (e.g. "America/New_York"). However some of the values the API returned are "US/Pacific", "US/Eastern" and apparently don't match any of the Olson timezones in Rails 2.3.2. Can anyone shed some light on this?     Basically, if I have a plain WCF Service over HTTPS is it automatically secure? [ServiceContract] public interface ICalc { [OperationContract] int add(int a, int b); } public class Calculator : ICalc { public int add(int a, int b) { return a + b; } } I figure the actual SOAP message isn't encrypted here, but is it still secure if I use https? Basically, if I use a basichttpbinding with no security settings in my config over https://www.myserver.com/services/Calc.svc is that secure?

  • EF recovery from invalidoperationexception caused by server being down

    I had a windows service relying on EF, and it was running fine until the server went down. The problem was after the server went up again, it didn't fix itself and still threw the error: INTERNAL ERROR: Execution of the command requires an open and available connection. The connection's current state is broken. Not being very proficient in EF I'm not aware of how I could recover from such a scenario, and why it occurred in the first place? Anyone had this happen before?

This seems like an enormous job given the number of airlines etc out there. Is there some API or web service standard that every airline conforms too? Am I going to have to negotiate access to the data APIs for every airline I wish to index?

    Well i have a WCF service and has to methods one that gives a list of a object and one that gives a list of objects.. the object returned from method one is part of the list from method two. Im using wpf and binding a combo box to the two the results.. but the problem is that the combo box dosent know how to compare the objects as WCF did not generate this for me.. is there some way to fix this??
