    Is there a way to tell SQL server to use specific default seed value for IDENTITY columns - assuming the (to be run) CREATE TABLE statements do not specify one? I don't really care about altering existing data or altering the seed values for specific IDENTITY columns. I want the same seed for all newly created identity columns. Assume I cannot modify the individual CREATE TABLE statements in any way.

I want to clarify the question a little because based on the answers I think I did not describe one aspect of the problem correctly (and I'm sure that's my fault as I was having a difficult time defining it even for myself). Here's the rub: The result set should contain ONLY the records with tstamp BETWEEN '2010-01-03' AND '2010-01-09', AND the one record where the tstamp IS NULL for each order_num in the first set (there will always be one with null tstamp for each order_num). The answers given so far appear to include all records for a certain order_num if there are any with tstamp BETWEEN '2010-01-03' AND '2010-01-09'. For example, if there were another record with order_num = 2 and tstamp = 2010-01-12 00:00:00 it should not be included in the result. Original question: Consider an orders table containing id (unique), order_num, tstamp (a timestamp), and item_id (the single item included in an order). tstamp is null, unless the order has been modified, in which case there is another record with identical order_num and tstamp then contains the timestamp of when the change occurred.     I'm using linq to SQL and MVC2 with data annotations and I'm having some problems on validation of some types. I have the same problem with a DateTime, which i want the users to write in the specific form 'dd/MM/yyyy' and i have a regex for that. but again, by the time the data-annotations do their job, all i get is a DateTime Object, and not the original string. So if the input is not a date, the regex does not even run, cos the data annotations just get a null, cos the model binder couldn't make it to a DateTime. Does anyone have an idea how to make this work?

    I just received a mpman ts300 mp3 player for Christmas. But when I try to connect it to ubuntu (10.10) through usb it doesn't seem to be recognized. I searched for a linuxdriver but came up with nothing. I even tried installing mpman manager from the software center, but still the same problem... Has anybody got any ideas about how to fix this?     I'm trying to link my project with fftw and so far, I've gotten it to compile, but not link. As the site said, I generated all the .lib files (even though I'm only using double precision), and copied them to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\lib, the .h file to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include and the .dll to C:\windows\system32.   • Delphi - WndProc() in thread never called

    I had code that worked fine when running in the context of the main VCL thread. This code allocated it's own WndProc() in order to handle SendMessage() calls. I am now trying to move it to a background thread because I am concerned that the SendMessage() traffic is affecting the main VCL thread adversely. So I created a worker thread with the sole purpose of allocating the WndProc() in its thread Execute() method to ensure that the WndProc() existed in the thread's execution context. The WndProc() handles the SendMessage() calls as they come in. The problem is that the worker thread's WndProc() method is never triggered. Note, doExecute() is part of a template method that is called by my TThreadExtended class which is a descendant of Delphi's TThread. TThreadExtended implements the thread Execute() method and calls doExecute() in a loop. I triple-checked and doExecute() is being called repeatedly.     I have been succesfully using the command line database deployment tool VSDBCMD on my dev and test environments but the tool fails in our integration environmrnt. I am using the VS 2010 version of the tool. The servers have all of the prerequisites including: .net 4.0 sql server compact edition 3.5 sp1 (as well as the full edition of 2008) sql server 2008 server management objects sql server 2008 native client sql server system clr types msxml 6 all of the dependent DLLs included in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5\desktop*.dll C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5*.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VSTSDB\Deploy**. The only reference to this error that I have been able to find has to do with a bug in the VS 2008 edition when the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0 key is missing. In my case the 10.0 version of the key exists. Has anyone else encountered this?

I have followed this : http://webpy.org/cookbook/i18n_support_in_template_file So, in my .wsgi there is : #i18n gettext.install('messages',I18N_PATH,unicode=True) gettext.translation('messages',I18N_PATH,languages=['fr_FR','en_US']).install(True) So i ran : pygettext.py -a -v -d messages -o i18n/messages.po controllers/*.py views/*.html I have copied and translated messages.po, I have also change the "content-type" and the "content-transfer-encoding: "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8\n" "Content-Transfer-Encoding: UTF-8\n" And i ran this command: msgfmt -v -o i18n/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/messages.mo i18n/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po >>>93 messages traduits. here is the arborescence of i18n folder: i18n/: en_US fr_FR messages.po i18n/en_US: LC_MESSAGES i18n/en_US/LC_MESSAGES: messages.mo messages.po i18n/fr_FR: LC_MESSAGES i18n/fr_FR/LC_MESSAGES: messages.mo messages.po But when i go in my website (my browser's language is "fr_fr"), i haven't the string translated.   • Usb device not working properly on a Thinkpad T60

    I have just started getting a message that a USB device is not working properly. This is on a new Thinkpad T60 running Windows XP Professional SP3. I have had all devices attached for about 10 days or so. When I go to device manager there is no sign of a problem: everything is working correctly. I am unable to find out which device it is. I searched this forum but the only reference I found was to older computers which may not be Usb2 capable. This is not my problem. Any ideas? Thanks. EDIT: I realized I had a harddrive attached but turned off. Although I could not track down any error messages except the balloon that came up, I have disconnected it and, so far, no messages. We'll see over the next day or two, but this may be the problem. Thanks EDIT: This has not solved the problem. I get the message that one of the USB devices has malfunctioned and it points to "USB root hub (2 ports)" and shows an unused port and an unknown device. However, when I check my device manager, it says that there are no problems, everything is working as it should. ?? EDIT: I now found the event log view and there are 2 types of error messages. They do not relate to the time that I get the balloon. 2 of the 3 are "Ati2mtag" errors and the third is "System Control Manager". Are these related to my problem, and the balloon just pops up randomly? EDIT: well, I'm still having the problem, and have narrowed it down to a malfunctioning device. Thanks to all.
