  • Securing Plugin Data in WordPress From Access by Other Plugins?

    There probably is some solution to this, whether it involves code running on just the wordpress installation or a combination of a wordpress installation and a master server I am not sure yet, but please remember not to have tunnel vision and consider any and all possible solutions: The scenario is this: A WordPress plugin (plugin-A) that manages some sort of valuable data (something that the admin would not want stolen), lets say, lead data with user's name and email addresses, the plugin uses its own db tables. Other than the obvious (which is the admin installing plugin-B, not knowing its malicious intent), what is to prevent another WordPress plugin (plugin-B) from accessing plugin-A data or hacking plugin-A files to circumvent security.

  • Display Computer Info on C# Web Application

    I want to build a page for end users to visit (in our MPLS Network) and it show the following information in regards to them: Computer Name OS Disk Space Memory IP Address Active Directory User Name Password Expiration Time (As defined by Global Policy) Maybe a few other things such as Trend Micro Office current version vs. their version, # of MS Updates needed (we utilize WSUS), and a few other things in the future. My question is how would I pull this information from the user when they visit the page? What is the proper function for this? Anyone have examples they wish to share for me to learn by if possible?     I've inherited a multi-technology project which comprises a Flash user interface contained in a web-browser-like host and has an ASP.NET piece which provides web services to the Flash UI, background/watchdog services plus a web application for administration of the system. Our transatlantic project conference calls are getting confusing due to the various terms people use to describe the ASP.NET piece. Indeed, ASP.NET has its' own project terminology including 'Web Site' and 'Web Application' to both of which one can add a 'Web Service'. Is there any commonly-used name for this ASP.NET multi-purpose project piece?

  • URL shortening: using inode as short name?

    The site I am working on wants to generate its own shortened URLs rather than rely on a third party like tinyurl or bit.ly. Obviously I could keep a running count new URLs as they are added to the site and use that to generate the short URLs. But I am trying to avoid that if possible since it seems like a lot of work just to make this one thing work. As the things that need short URLs are all real physical files on the webserver my current solution is to use their inode numbers as those are already generated for me ready to use and guaranteed to be unique. function short_name($file) { $ino = @fileinode($file); $s = base_convert($ino, 10, 36); return $s; } This seems to work. Question is, what can I do to make the short URL even shorter? On the system where this is being used, the inodes for newly added files are in a range that makes the function above return a string 7 characters long. Can I safely throw away some (half?) of the bits of the inode? And if so, should it be the high bits or the low bits? I thought of using the crc32 of the filename, but that actually makes my short names longer than using the inode. Would something like this have any risk of collisions? I've been able to get down to single digits by picking the right value of "$referencefile". function short_name($file) { $ino = @fileinode($file); // arbitrarily selected pre-existing file, // as all newer files will have higher inodes $ino = $ino - @fileinode($referencefile); $s = base_convert($ino, 10, 36); return $s; }

How they managed the download by parts and then all together as soon as u downloaded full part? and as soon as you had great speed then your download speed automatically goes up? How to make software which will work like torrent means peer-to-peer? how to make this kind of software which can download from different servers and managed to know each users download and upload? and how they have pretty small size? which tech. they have used in that kind of software? Sorry i had asked many question. I know how downloading is happening means peer-to-peer all that.. but i don't know how they have built that kind of thing?

  • Like posts over Facebook graph api

I have little problem with facebook PHP SDK..I want to like a post, or something else via facebook PHP SDK..I am doing this code, I think it should be right, but  apparently it's not working..The given error code is, the PHP SDK dont know this kind of POST request(the generated link is definitely alright). What I have seen on Facebook Developers page is about the same..There is an example of Curl command, and I the PHP SDK is doing this requests over Curl (propably). $this->getFacebook()->api("/"+$id+"/likes", 'post'); This is what I am using in my code and it's not working(Facebook API Exception unsupported post request). Maybe, I have bad syntax in my code, but, for example, when I want to post a status to my Profile, it's working..Another cause which confused me, was when I tried to fetch these data over Graph api(on the documentation page is written, I should use address like graph.facebook.com/POST_ID/likes)... You can comment on or like a post by posting to https://graph.facebook.com/POST_ID/comments and https://graph.facebook.com/POST_ID/likes,respectively: curl -F 'access_token=...' \ https://graph.facebook.com/313449204401/likes <=this is from facebook documentation And all these requests or commands(liking ones, comments have I not yet tried) are putting me back a JSON array which contents any already existing likes, but my like is nowhere. Does anyone know what to do?How to like a post from PHP..There are other SKDs like FQL, but I haven't any knowlegde with it, so I like rather to use the standard PHP SDK(but if is there some possibility how to call for example FQL from PHP SDK, here I am:)) Please help..

    Hi, im quite new to HTML, and am trying to create a proffessional looking TreeView. I can not use the in built treeview in ASP.Net as i need to point the target of the selection to another frame (I have tried, and this doesn't seem possible). My treeview is built up as follows: Folder1 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree Folder2 ChildOne ChildTwo ChildThree I have the collapsing of the folders working, but would like to know how to format this treeview so it has dotted lines down to the child nodes (as most treeviews tend to have).   • How to detect an 'image area' percentage inside an image?

    Mhh, kinda hard to explain with my poor english ;) So, lets say I have an image, doesnt matter what kind of (gif, jpg, png) with 200x200 pixel size (total area 40000 pixels) This image have a background, that can be trasparent, or every color (but i know the background-color in advance). Lets say that in the middle of this image, there is a picture (for keep the example simple lets suppose is a square drawn), of 100x100 pixels (total area 10000 pixels). I need to know the area percentage that the small square fill inside the image. So, in i know the full image size and the background-color, there is a way in php/python to scan the image and retrieve that (in short, counting the pixel that are different from the given background)? In the above example, the result should be 25%

  • AJAX in Rails - doing simple looping to update information when available

    I am trying to get put out a simple site, which would pool the database every few seconds and update the information on the page dynamicly, when theres something new inserted. I am farily new to ruby, but I understand the whole concept of RJS, link_to_function and soforth. The question is, what is the best way how to implement some kind of simple loop, which would run after the page is loaded and update the DOM if there is something new to display. Thanks in advance for any tips!

  • Unobtrusive, self-hosted comments function to put onto existing web pages

    I am building a new site which will consist of a mix of dynamic and static pages. I would like to add commenting functionality to those pages with as little work as possible. I'm curious as to whether such a solution exists in PHP. The ideal set of features would be: Completely independent from the surrounding page / site: PHP code gets dropped into page, a page ID is added, done. Simple "write a comment" form Comments for each page are displayed using a PHP function Nice, clean output of <ul><li>.... that can be styled by the surrounding site Optional Captcha Optional Gravatar sensitivity Minimalistic administration area to moderate/delete comments, no ACL, can protect it using .htaccess The ideal integreation would be like this: <?php show_comments("my_page_name"); ?> this would 1. display a form to add a new comment that gets automatically associtated with my_page_name; and 2. display all comments that were made through this form using this ID. Does anybody know a solution like this? Bounty I am setting up a bounty because while there were some good suggestions, they all point to external services. I'm really curious to see whether there isn't anything self-hosted around. If this doesn't exist yet, it sure would be great to see as an Open Source project.

    I have Controller having multiple @RequestMapping annotations in it. @Controller public class SignUpController { @RequestMapping("signup") public String showSignUp() throws Exception { return "somejsp"; } @RequestMapping("fullSignup") public String showFullSignUp() throws Exception { return "anotherjsp"; } @RequestMapping("signup/createAccount") public String createAccount() throws Exception { return "anyjsp"; } } How can I map these @RequestMapping to case insensitive. i.e. if I use "/fullsignup" or "/fullSignup" I should get "anotherjsp". But this is not happening right now. Only "/fullSignup" is working fine.
