  • Good article about File- and Folder Permissions on production server?

    I have a classifieds website, and users may post classifieds, add images, remove classifieds etc etc... I have no idea what to set the permissions to on folders. For instance, a php script which I have uploads a file to a directory. What would you have set the directory permissions to? Nobody need access to the directory, only the php script... Just wonder if anybody has a good (brief) article about setting the "right" permissions? Thanks

    Our logs show hundreds of these errors after our deployment if users are on the site. Anyone know what this means and how to fix it? Notes: We are using msdeploy, IIS 6 I recently noticed that our web server's time is about 10 minutes behind the real time, I think that may have something to do with it. If I log into our site, seems like any file that depends on a WebResource or ScriptResource type file doesn't look right. Seems to fix itself after an IIS reset

I'm using SHBrowseForFolder and it is working fine except that folder shortcuts are not being displayed in the dialog.     I have an app which acts almost like a daemon. Sometimes it quits on error and many times it prints an error msg then ask users to press any key to close. How can i relaunch the app when either case happens? I am more interested in the 2nd case. I can do this in c++, C# or python. The script is an old python that i dont want to change (a newer c# version is in the works but not stable)

  • Captcha in my Joomla site it not blocking spam robots.

    In my joomla install I have removed the email registration and instead added a Captcha field to the PHP code using the recaptcha.net method. For some reason I am still getting what I think are spam users (robots) but I don't know how they would get around the Captcha field. Anything I should check?
