• Configure vlan on Netgear switch via SNMP

  I am trying to configure vlans on a netgear GS752TSX from the Linux command line with netsnmp. I have created vlan 99 on the web interface now want to control the pvid settings, egress and tagging.   Hi All, I have a NSArray of string id and a NSDictionary of NSDictionary objects. I am currently looping through the string id array to match the id value in the NSDictionary. There are around 200 NSDictionary objects and only 5 or so string ID. My current code is such: for (NSString *Str in aArr) { for (NSDictionary *a in apArr) { if ([a objectForKey:@"id"] == Str) { NSLog(@"Found!"); } } } The performance of the above code is really slow and I was wondering if there is a better way to do this?

• C# extension method doesn't seem to exist

  I can't seem to get the following extension method to be found in another class in the same namespace (MyProject.Util). using System.Collections.Specialized; namespace MyProject.Util { public static class Extensions { public static string Get( this NameValueCollection me, string key, string def ) { return me[key] ?? def; } } } As you can see it's basically another version of foo[bar] ?? baz, but I still don't understand why VS2008 fails to compile telling me that no version of Get takes two arguments. Any ideas?

• Java variables -> replace? RAM optimization

  Hi guys, I just wanted to know what happens behind my program when I declare and initialize a variable and later initialize it again with other values, e.g. an ArrayList or something similar. What happens in my RAM, when I say e.g. this: ArrayList<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); ...add values, work with it and so on.... al = new ArrayList<String>(); So is my first ArrayList held in RAM or will the second ArrayList be stored on the same position where the first one has been before? Or will it just change the reference of "al"? If it is not replaced...is there a way to manually free the RAM which was occupied by the first arraylist? (without waiting for the garbage collector) Would it help to set it first =null? Nice greetings, poeschlorn

• How can I match at the beginning of any line, including the first, with a Perl regex?

  According the the Perl documentation on regexes: By default, the "^" character is guaranteed to match only the beginning of the string ... Embedded newlines will not be matched by "^" ... You may, however, wish to treat a string as a multi-line buffer, such that the "^" will match after any newline within the string ... you can do this by using the /m modifier on the pattern match operator. The "after any newline" part means that it will only match at the beginning of the 2nd and subsequent lines. What if I want to match at the beginning of any line (1st, 2nd, etc.)? EDIT: OK, it seems that the file has BOM information (3 chars) at the beginning and that's what's messing me up. Any way to get ^ to match anyway? EDIT: So in the end it works (as long as there's no BOM), but now it seems that the Perl documentation is wrong, since it says "after any newline"

• Converting an array to JSON and passing that to asmx

  Hi. I am trying to use JSON.stringify() (from json2.js of json[dot]org ) to convert a JavaScript array to JSON string and to pass it to an asmx web method. I use jQuery AJAX. The call reaches the web method where I take a List <Object> as parameter but I get an empty list there in debug mode. My JSON string looks like well formed with all data , I even tried having single-quotes and double-quotes(escaped) around the 'names' of the JSON string. Please help.

I'm an owner of a OCZ 8GB Rally2 which I've used flawlessly for about 4 months now, and all of a sudden this week I begin getting errors telling me that I can't delete a file due to "make sure the disk is not write-protected, full or and the file is not in-use" dialog. Here's what I've tried: Deleting the file using FileASSASSIN (it's worked on everything else but files on this darn flash drive) Formatting the flash drive and then restoring the backed up information (I format to NTFS, FYI) Any suggestions on what to do?

  Scenario: I am parsing values from an XML file using C# and have the following method: private static string GetXMLNodeValue(XmlNode basenode, string strNodePath) { if (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath) != null) return (basenode.SelectSingleNode(strNodePath).InnerText); else return String.Empty; } To get a particular value from the XML file, I generally pass the root node and a path like "parentnode/item" I recently ran into an issue where two nodes at the same document level share the same name. Question: What is the best way to get the values for duplicate-named nodes distinctly? My thought was to load all values matching the node name into an array and then using the array index to refer to them. I'm not sure how to implement that, though. (I'm not well-versed in XML navigation.)

The server returns the following error to the client: "The message could not be retrieved using the IMAP4 protocol. The message has not been deleted and may be accessible using either Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access. You can also try contacting the original sender of the message to find out about the contents of the message. Retrieval of this message will be retried when the server is updated with a fix that addresses the problem." Messages were transferred in to Exchange by copying them from the old Apple Xserve, accessed using IMAP. So my question, finally: 1. Is there any way to get the IMAP Exchange connector to rebuild its cache of messages since it doesn't seem to be pulling them directly from the MAPI store? 2. Alternatively, if there is no database, any ideas on why these messages don't appear in Outlook or OWA would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Mike

• PHP - Short hand if statement with a date format with weird output.

  I am using a short hand notation of an if statement to format a field. If the field is an empty string I leave it as an empty string, if not then I am trying to format it to a proper datetime format so it can be inserted into a mysql db. here is my php code $date = ($date == '') ? date("Y-m-d", strtotime($date)) : $date; for some reason when the $date string is not empty it is returning it int he format 'm/d/Y' example: 04/01/2010 When I pull the code out of the shorthand if $date = date("Y-m-d", strtotime($date)); print($date); it is formatted correctly like this 'Y-m-d' or 2010-04-01. Does anyone know why this happens? Thanks

  I usually define my string variables in vb.net as Dim f_sName as string=String.Empty f_sName = "foo" Given the immutable nature of strings in .net, is there a better way to initialize strings and deal with the "Variable 'f_sName ' is used before it has been assigned a value. A null reference exception could result at runtime." warning? Also for classes that do not have constructors which accept no arguments such as System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream, what is the best way to define and initialize a variable of that type? I believe it's caused when it tries to parse the tilde part of that string "Mísero". the directory "D:\MUSICA\La Trampa - El Mísero Espiral De Encanto" exists because I can see it and also have some files in it.   heyy there i want to parse a text,let's name it 'post', and 'urlize' some strings if they contain a particular character, in a particular position. my 'pseudocode' trial would look like that: def urlize(post) for string in post if string icontains ('#') url=(r'^searchn/$', searchn, name='news_searchn'), then apply url to the string return urlize(post) i want the function to return to me the post with the urlized strings, where necessary (just like twitter does). i don't understand: how can i parse a text, and search for certain strings? is there ok to make a function especially for 'urlizing' some strings? The function should return the entire post, no matter if it has such kind of strings. is there another way Django offers? Thank you

I want to update a JLabel from the interim result published by the swing worker as follows: publish("Published String"); Now to update the JLabel, I have coded the following: process(List<String> chunks) { if (chunks.size() > 0) { String text = chunks.get(chunks.size() - 1); label.setText(text); } } The above code works but my problem(or to be more specific, my doubt) is as follows: The above swing worker task is an annonymous inner class so it can access label field. But what if I want to make the swing worker class a non-inner class. Should I need to pass label as an argument to the constructor of swing worker class so that the process() method can access. Or Is there any other way? What approach does other developer follow to update UI components from the swing worker class' result when the swing worker class is not an inner class?

But this is not happening right now. Only "/fullSignup" is working fine.
