• OpenVPN stopped working, what could have happened?

  I have Openvpn, and it worked great when I used it on PC (Windows 8), then I copied all files (Certificates and config) to an Android 4 phone to use them. Now, Openvpn works on the phone, but not the PC. Specifically, when I open Google I get: The server at www.google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed, but the VPN seems to be connected. I have a simple question, could the problem be because I copied the same files? • Source-control your BI Publisher reports

  Version control systems (VCS) like Subversion, Git and the others has been widely adopted and became the must-have tool in any software development project. Source artifacts and checked out, modified, checked in, all the history of changes is tracked by the VCS.  But what if the development tool stores the source/configuration artifacts not in your laptop's hard drive, but in some shared repository instead? Well, we definitely need a way for export/import our artifacts from/to this repository.   Oracle BI Publisher report development approach is based on such a shared repository model (catalog), and starting from BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 Oracle ships Catalog Utility, which can be utilized to export/import the reports from the command line.  To start using the BI Publisher Catalog Utility you should: Go to the file system of the server where BI Publisher binaries has been installed and locate the following file: <MW_HOME>/Oracle_BI1/clients/bipublisher/BIPCatalogUtil.zip Copy the file to your local filesystem and unzip it. I will refer to this unzipped directory as <BIP_CLIENT_DIR> below If you do not want to pass server BI Publisher server URL, username and password during each invocation, modify the corresponding values inside <BIP_CLIENT_DIR>/config/xmlp-client-config.xml Open the terminal window and go to <BIP_CLIENT_DIR>/bin Make sure that the following environment variables are set: JAVA_HOME, ORACLE_HOME Now it's time to run the utility: if you are on Linux - just run BIPCatalogUtil.sh and pass the parameters according to the utility documentation if you are on MS Windows the bad news are that the command script for MS Windows is missing, and support.oracle.com note 1333726.1 says that a temporary solution is "create a .cmd file by setting up a classpath and copying the same commands from the .sh script". • Automatically create bug resolution task using the TFS 2010 API

  My customer requires bug resolution to be approved and tracked.  To minimize the overhead for developers I implemented a TFS 2010 server-side plug-in to automatically create a child resolution task for the bug when the “CCB” field is set to approved. The CCB field is a custom field.  I also added the story points field to the bug WIT for sizing purposes. Redundant tasks will not be created unless the bug title is changed or the prior task is closed. The program writes an audit trail to a log file visible in the TFS Admin Console Log view. • Printing to shared printers across VPN

  I have a program that prints labels at five remote sites. Two sites, aren't working, but the rest are with an identical (as far as I can tell) setup. Using Wireshark, I have determined that the handshaking all goes well, but after the "Open Print File Response" the packet that is sent from the server, doesn't reach the client. But I'm a bit at a loss as to where I go from here. I know the port the packet was sent on (445) isn't being blocked, the RST packet gets sent on the same port and that gets there fine. It's also weird that the three out of five sites are working fine. This has been up and running for years without issue, all that we have changed is our connectivity (from DSL to bonded DSL). But this traffic is over a VPN - so it can't be the ISP interfering either can it? I'm totally stuck, and any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  Being a C# .NET Windows Forms developer, some customers are running our applications on an Apple OS X Mac inside a Parallels virtual machine. Parallels presents host folders to the guest Windows as UNC paths with a leading dot like \\.psf\Home\Some\More\Folders Now an application of us cannot handle the leading dot correctly when accessing files from these kind of shares ("Invalid URI, cannot analyze host name" exception). I want to debug and fix this issue, unfortunately I do have no Mac and Parallels around here to test it. My question is: Is there a way to "simulate" this kind of share on a normal Windows server or client so that I'll be able to debug my application with Visual Studio? What I tried so far: I already tried to edit my HOSTS file to contain an entry like # ... 127.0.0.1 .psf # ... but Windows just seems to not recognize the share at all.

• Is there a way to add a custom favicon to an App Tab?

  Since the release of Firefox "5", I've come to really love the new "App Tabs" feature. However, I've now realized that several internal websites at work do not have favicons. So, when I make an App Tab out of these sites, there's only a "blank page" icon in the tab. Perhaps I wouldn't mind so much if there was only one, but there's at least two or three of these. So, it's just a bit annoying to have to mouse-over the App Tabs to figure out which is what. I've tried using Favicon Picker 2 to change the bookmark icons, but it only does exactly that - changes the icon in the bookmarks folder. It doesn't change the favicon that's displayed next to the URL in the Address Bar, or the one next to the page title in tabs - the latter being that which is used for the App Tab icon. So, is there a plugin or other client-side (and preferably "Joe User" friendly) method to assign an icon to a web page or domain, that will be used in the tab bar?

For example, the water that turned black is displayed as red on all other players' screens. I have knowledge of java, but almost none regarding game dev. tools. Is there a best process for these requirements? Should I develop in pure java, or use some tool like Slick2D etc.? How performance intensive are these properties, if even possible? Edit: There are no collisions in the game or difficult animations, I am imagining simply changing the colors of the tiles (like in the examples), and a client-server architecture

My question is: 1) Does xinetd take memory / cpu even when vncserver is not running? If so, can I "run" xinetd on demand (how)? And if no, any idea how much memory it will take when vncserver is not running? 2) Does vncserver take substantial memory when no clients are connected? 3) Do openbox/obconf take memory when vncserver is running but no client are connected? 4) Do openbox/obconf take memory when no vncserver is running? thanks JP

How do I go about decreasing the default size of the AMI???   I have a windows server which I can access locally or remotely over the internet through remote desktop connection, etc. I want to set up a git repository (something similar to "trunk" in subversion), that can contain a series of repositories for multiple projects. Does anyone know how I go about doing this? I want to do it using a GUI if possible. I have followed this Git Bash Tutorial but it's very long winded and not exactly what I'm after. I'm using a Git client called MSYSGIT. Using this I just want to be able to set up remote repositories and start committing source code. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  i'm trying to figure out why my apache2 reverse proxy doesn't work... hope someone can clarify. i'm using an apache server as a gateway with proxy pass: 10.184.1.2 is the IP. these are PP instructions i inserted in the 000-default config file. ProxyPass / http://192.168.102.31/ ProxyPassReverse / http://192.168.102.31/ the host 192.168.102.31 is an internal IP of a subnet wich is not reachable directly by clients, but only by the apache gateway. when i try to access such a address: http://apache_gateway_name/dir i see the client trying to reach 192.168.102.31 address and of course timeout occurs. can someone help?   Our WSUS server stopped working until the patch related to .NET 4.0 was installed, at which point clients started downloading and updating again. However, the WSUS mmc console occasionally disconnects when performing various tasks, such as running automatic approval rules; also wsusutil checkhealth creates the following events: 13042: Self-update is not working. 12002: The Reporting Web Service is not working. 12012: The API Remoting Web Service is not working. 12032: The Server Synchronization Web Service is not working. 12022: The Client Web Service is not working. 12042: The SimpleAuth Web Service is not working. 12052: The DSS Authentication Web Service is not working. Apparently there are many possible causes for these events. I'm looking for a way to figure out what is wrong, so that I can fix it.

Supposing two nodes (hosts), host1 and host2 configured with Drbd Primary/Primary and two different shares (NFS, CIFS o iSCSI) of a replicated area (saying /drbd) /drbd/file1.data /drbd/file2.data If a pool of client would access only by host1 share reading and wrinting only file1.data and another pool only by host2 share to file2.data, this scenario should avoid split brain situation in case of one node failure or it's just a conjecture? The final purpose is load balance between the two nodes in normal condition and collapsing to one node only in case of failure. Thank you! Eddie

  I have a VPS that has Ubuntu 8.10 Server Edition installed on it and I would like to upgrade it to 10.04. What would be the correct way of doing this? I only have ssh access to it and a "Start/Shutdown VPS" in the client panel of the vendor. In other words, I do not have physical access to it. Also worth noting is that I apparently cannot install programs any more since the sources (osuosl.org ?) are not online. • OpenSuSE 11 iscsi target: HFS+ partition not seen by clients

  I have an openSuSE machine as a file server, which has an Areca 1880i inside. It contains several partitions. There is a dm-0 and a dm-1 partition, for example. The partitions are formatted as EFI system partitions, with HFS+ file systems. My opensuse could not read them but the iscsitarget exported them for my Macs. This worked for more than a year. For some reason now, after some network problems which were "solved", my dm-0 partition is not seen anymore! I suspect it is a problem on the iscsi target side, i.e. the OpenSuSE machine. Can anyone suggest what I should look into? Any logs, any settings on the linux machine? None of my macs can access the partition, and they use different client software!! Thanks!

• Can't run telnet in console opened by Autohotkey

  I have enabled the telnet client on my Windows 7 64-bit machine and if I open the start menu and launch cmd from there I can run telnet. I normally use the keyboard shortcut Win-C, implemented by this AutoHotkey snippet to open a console. #c::Run, C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe For some strange reason when I try to run telnet in a console window opened this way I get Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\Users\Steve\Documentstelnet 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Running path in any console, regardless of how it was opened produces the same output. Can anyone shed any light on why telnet might run in one console but not the other?

• Is there a way to get Chatzilla in the Windows 7 "jumplist" for Firefox?

  Windows 7 has a feature called "Jumplists" which, in the Start menu, adds a kind of context menu alongside the selected app listing things such as files recently or frequently used with that app, and tasks the app can perform: Often I use Firefox's add-on IRC client, Chatzilla but use Chrome for browsing. I have to start the Firefox browser, run Chatzilla from the menua, then close the browser again. It seems this is exactly the kind of thing Jumplists are for. Is there a way to customize them in Windows 7? Or does Firefox offer a way to customize its own Jumplists?
