  • Installing Ruby Gems behind a Proxy

    - by jjr2527
    It appears this topic has been covered a few times before, but those solutions have only gotten me so far. I now have my sources properly updated and I am able to query for gems without an error but I keep getting empty results for my searches. I installed rubysspi and copied over the spa.rb file as mentioned in the readme. The readme also suggested using this line which did not work for me based on my install path: ruby -rspa 'C:\Program Files\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi So I switched it to my install directory off the root: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi But that also didn't work so a search for the gem file located it in the bin directory so this command finally worked for me: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\bin\gem' list --remote sspi But I got empty results back: *** REMOTE GEMS *** SO I tried other gems and had the same results. Then I listed my gem sources and rubygems is listed as expected. Am I missing something else? c:\ruby>gem sources *** CURRENT SOURCES *** http://rubygems.org

  • MD5 file processing

    - by Ric Coles
    Good morning all, I'm working on an MD5 file integrity check tool in C#. How long should it take for a file to be given an MD5 checksum value? For example, if I try to get a 2gb .mpg file, it is taking around 5 mins+ each time. This seems overly long. Am I just being impatient? Below is the code I'm running public string getHash(String @fileLocation) { FileStream fs = new FileStream(@fileLocation, FileMode.Open); HashAlgorithm alg = new HMACMD5(); byte[] hashValue = alg.ComputeHash(fs); string md5Result = ""; foreach (byte x in hashValue) { md5Result += x; } fs.Close(); return md5Result; } Any suggestions will be appreciated. • PHP comparion doesnt work..why?

    - by user248959
    Hi, i have this code: $password_introducido = sfContext::getInstance()->getUser()->getGuardUser()->setPassword($value['password_actual']); $password_almacenado = sfContext::getInstance()->getUser()->getGuardUser()->getPassword(); var_dump("kfjsdlkjf"); var_dump($password_almacenado); var_dump($password_almacenado); if($password_introducido == $password_almacenado){ die("entrosopi"); } that prints this: string 'kfjsdlkjf' (length=9) string 'c9c40d11b29ac0f5bdef3be51ce61187582c3ae1' (length=40) string 'c9c40d11b29ac0f5bdef3be51ce61187582c3ae1' (length=40) IMHO, it should print "entrosopi", but it doesnt. Why? If i instead write if(!$password_introducido == $password_almacenado) it prints "entrosopi". Javi

  • A regex to match a comma that isn't surrounded by quotes.

    - by Rayne
    I'm using Clojure, so this is in the context of Java regexes. Here is an example string: "{:a "ab,cd, efg", :b "ab,def, egf,", :c "Conjecture"}" The important bits are the commas after each string. I'd like to be able to replace them with newline characters with Java's replaceAll method. A regex that will match any comma that is not surrounded by quotes will do. If I'm not coming across well, please ask and I'll be happily to clarify anything. edit: sorry for the confusion in the title. I haven't been awake very long. String: {:a "ab, cd efg",} <-- In this example, the comma at the end would be matched, but the ones inside the quote would not.

  • Hibernate: How do I link a subclass to its superclass?

    - by Markus
    Hey there! I'm having a little problem setting up my webshop project. Thing is, I have a User() superclass and two subclasses, PrivateUser and BusinessUser. Now, I'm not quite sure how to get my head around storing this relationship via hibernate. For the purpose of this question, the User() class contains only one field: String address; the PrivateUser contains: String firstName; and the BusinessUser contains: String CompanyName; Each field has its getter and setter. As is right now, I would only store and be able to get firstName and companyName. When I fetch a user from my DB using Hibernate I would get a PrivateUser/BusinessUser with a null address. Bottom line is, could someone point me towards a useful tutorial or better yet show a similar example code? Thanks!

  • Mongomapper query collection problem

    - by kylemac
    When I define the User has_many meetings, it automatically creates a "user_id" key/value pair to relate to the User collections. Except I can't run any mongo_mapper finds using this value, without it returning nil or []. Meeting.first(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.all(:user_id = "1234") Meeting.find(:user_id = "1234") All return nil. Is there another syntax? Basically I can't run a query on the automatically generated associative ObjectId. # Methods class User include MongoMapper::Document key :user_name, String, :required = true key :password, String many :meetings end class Meeting include MongoMapper::Document key :name, String, :required = true key :count, Integer, :default = 1 end # Sinatra get '/add' do user = User.new user.meetings "foobar") #should read: Meeting.new(:name = "foobar") user.save end get '/find' do test = Meeting.first(:user_id = "4b4f9d6d348f82370b000001") #this is the _id of the newly create user p test # WTF! returns [] end

  • Calculate NSString size to adjust UITextField frame

    - by Bernd Plontsch
    I have issues calculating the accurate size of a NSString displayed in a UITextField. My goal is to update the textfield frame size according to the string size programmatically (without using sizeToFit). I am using the sizeWithFont function. -(void)resizeTextFieldAccordingToText:(NSString*)textFieldString { CGPoint originalCenter = self.textField.center; UIFont* currentFont = [textField font]; CGSize newSize = [textFieldString sizeWithFont:currentFont]; //Same incorrect results with the extended version of sizeWithFont, e.g. //[textFieldString sizeWithFont:currentFont constrainedToSize:CGSizeMake(300.0, 100.0) lineBreakMode:NSLineBreakByClipping]; [self.textField setFrame:(CGRectMake(self.textField.frame.origin.x, self.textField.frame.origin.y, newSize.width, newSize.height))]; [self.textField setCenter:originalCenter]; } Problem: While this return correct size results at first its becomes more and more unprecise by adding characters therefore finally starts clipping the string (as seen in the right screenshot). How do I get the accurate size of the textField string for correctly adjusting its size?

  • Injecting (INotifyPropertyChanged functionality) to an instance of an class

    - by no9
    Hi ! I have a class that implements INotifyPropertyChanged. I create an instance of a class in some viewModel. Is it possible to remove this functionality from the class and inject it after the instance was created? I heard that ICustomTypeDescriptor would make this happen, but i dont know how to use it. public class C : ICustomNotifyPropertyChanged { public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; public int _id; public string _name; public int Id { get { return _id; } set { if (_id == value) { return; } _id = value; OnPropertyChanged("Id"); } } public string Name { get { return _name; } set { if (_name == value) { return; } _name = value; OnPropertyChanged("Name"); } } public void OnPropertyChanged(string name) { PropertyChangedEventHandler handler = PropertyChanged; if (handler != null) { handler(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(name)); } }

  • XmlSerializer throws exception when serializing dynamically loaded type

    - by Dr. Sbaitso
    Hi I'm trying to use the System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer to serialize a dynamically loaded (and compiled class). If I build the class in question into the main assembly, everything works as expected. But if I compile and load the class from an dynamically loaded assembly, the XmlSerializer throws an exception. What am I doing wrong? I've created the following .NET 3.5 C# application to reproduce the issue: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Xml.Serialization; using System.Text; using System.Reflection; using System.CodeDom.Compiler; using Microsoft.CSharp; public class StaticallyBuiltClass { public class Item { public string Name { get; set; } public int Value { get; set; } } private List<Item> values = new List<Item>(); public List<Item> Values { get { return values; } set { values = value; } } } static class Program { static void Main() { RunStaticTest(); RunDynamicTest(); } static void RunStaticTest() { Console.WriteLine("-------------------------------------"); Console.WriteLine(" Serializing StaticallyBuiltClass..."); Console.WriteLine("-------------------------------------"); var stat = new StaticallyBuiltClass(); Serialize(stat.GetType(), stat); Console.WriteLine(); } static void RunDynamicTest() { Console.WriteLine("-------------------------------------"); Console.WriteLine(" Serializing DynamicallyBuiltClass..."); Console.WriteLine("-------------------------------------"); CSharpCodeProvider csProvider = new CSharpCodeProvider(new Dictionary<string, string> { { "CompilerVersion", "v3.5" } }); CompilerParameters csParams = new System.CodeDom.Compiler.CompilerParameters(); csParams.GenerateInMemory = true; csParams.GenerateExecutable = false; csParams.ReferencedAssemblies.Add("System.dll"); csParams.CompilerOptions = "/target:library"; StringBuilder classDef = new StringBuilder(); classDef.AppendLine("using System;"); classDef.AppendLine("using System.Collections.Generic;"); classDef.AppendLine(""); classDef.AppendLine("public class DynamicallyBuiltClass"); classDef.AppendLine("{"); classDef.AppendLine(" public class Item"); classDef.AppendLine(" {"); classDef.AppendLine(" public string Name { get; set; }"); classDef.AppendLine(" public int Value { get; set; }"); classDef.AppendLine(" }"); classDef.AppendLine(" private List<Item> values = new List<Item>();"); classDef.AppendLine(" public List<Item> Values { get { return values; } set { values = value; } }"); classDef.AppendLine("}"); CompilerResults res = csProvider.CompileAssemblyFromSource(csParams, new string[] { classDef.ToString() }); foreach (var line in res.Output) { Console.WriteLine(line); } Assembly asm = res.CompiledAssembly; if (asm != null) { Type t = asm.GetType("DynamicallyBuiltClass"); object o = t.InvokeMember("", BindingFlags.CreateInstance, null, null, null); Serialize(t, o); } Console.WriteLine(); } static void Serialize(Type type, object o) { var serializer = new XmlSerializer(type); try { serializer.Serialize(Console.Out, o); } catch(Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine("Exception caught while serializing " + type.ToString()); Exception e = ex; while (e != null) { Console.WriteLine(e.Message); e = e.InnerException; Console.Write("Inner: "); } Console.WriteLine("null"); Console.WriteLine(); Console.WriteLine("Stack trace:"); Console.WriteLine(ex.StackTrace); } } } which generates the following output: ------------------------------------- Serializing StaticallyBuiltClass... ------------------------------------- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="IBM437"?> <StaticallyBuiltClass xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Values /> </StaticallyBuiltClass> ------------------------------------- Serializing DynamicallyBuiltClass... ------------------------------------- Exception caught while serializing DynamicallyBuiltClass There was an error generating the XML document.   • Attach data to Richtext using flex, mysql and php(newbie)

    - by dmschenk
    I'm trying to attach data to a richtext field in Flashbuilder. The data is an html string in a mysql database and I'm connecting using php. The php script is just converting to XML. The connection works because I can easily dump the data to a datagrid and I can see the string. when I try to hook the data to a Richtext field I get "object CallResponder" so I am connected, but I'm not sure how to break it down so that it is just an html string for the text field. Thanks protected function creationCompleteHandler(event:FlexEvent):void { getAllAbout_fxResult.token = aboutfxService.getAllAbout_fx(); } <s:RichText x="10" y="10" text="{getAllAbout_fxResult}" creationComplete="creationCompleteHandler(event)" width="300" height="300"/>

  • MyClass cannot be cast to java.lang.Comparable: java.lang.ClassCastException

    - by user2234225
    I am doing a java project and I got this problem and don't know how to fix it. The classes in my project (simplified): public class Item { private String itemID; private Integer price; public Integer getPrice() { return this.price; } } public class Store { private String storeID; private String address; } public class Stock { private Item item; private Store store; private Integer itemCount; public Integer getInventoryValue() { return this.item.getPrice() * this.itemCount; } } Then I try to sort an ArrayList of Stock so I create another class called CompareByValue public class CompareByValue implements Comparator<Stock> { @Override public int compare(Stock stock1, Stock stock2) { return (stock1.getInventoryValue() - stock2.getInventoryValue()); } } When I try to run the program, it gives the error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastException: Stock cannot be cast to java.lang.Comparable Anyone know what's wrong?

  • How to get regular expression matches between two boundaries

    - by Rubans
    Hi, I have the following text: started: Project: ProjectA, Configuration: Release Any CPU ------ I would like to get just the actual project name which in this example is "ProjectA". I do have a regular expression "started:(\s)Project:(\s).*," which will give me "started: Project: ProjectA," and then I can use further basic string searching to return the project name but was wondering if there is any way I can just grab the actual project name without doing the extra string searching, maybe using a correct regular expression. What I need is the string value between boundaries "started: Project: " and ",". Any ideas?

  • ClickOnce: How do I pass a querystring value to my app *through the installer*?

    - by Timothy Khouri
    My company currently builds separate MSI's for all of our clients, even though the app is 100% the same across the board (with a single exception, an ID in the app.config). I would like to show them that we can publish in once place with ClickOnce, and simply add a query string parameter for each client's installer. Example: http://mysite.com/setup.exe?ID=1234-56-7890 The issue that I'm having is that the above ("ID=1234...") is not being passed along to the "myapplication.application". What is happening instead is, the app is being installed successfully, and it is running the first time with an activation context, but the "ActivationUri" does not contain any query string values. Is there a way to pass query string values FROM THE INSTALLER URL to the application's launch URL? If so, how?

  • EF Code First - Include(x => x.Properties.Entity) a 1 : Many association

    - by VulgarBinary
    Given a EF-Code First CTP5 entity layout like: public class Person { ... } which has a collection of: public class Address { ... } which has a single association of: public class Mailbox { ... } I want to do: PersonQuery.Include(x => x.Addresses).Include("Addresses.Mailbox") WITHOUT using a magic string. I want to do it using a lambda expression. I am aware what I typed above will compile and will bring back all Persons matching the search criteria with their addresses and each addresses' mailbox eager loaded, but it's in a string which irritates me. How do I do it without a string? Thanks Stack!

  • Calling WebService From Same Project

This class can only be used in the context of an ASP.NET request." when calling Server.MapPath from the webservice: [WebMethod] public int Analyse(string fileName, string PARSING_MODULE){ int nRecords; TrackSession rTrackSession = new TrackSession() ; string filePath = Server.MapPath(@"..\data\") + fileName; do i have to add the WebReference instead, though the webservice is in the same project? Thanks In Advance

  • Bug in the official Android Fragments training sample?

    - by Jeff Axelrod
    It seems to me that there must be a bug in the Android Fragments demo. As background, Fragments are apparently sometimes instantiated by the Android OS and thus need a public no-arg constructor: All subclasses of Fragment must include a public empty constructor. The framework will often re-instantiate a fragment class when needed, in particular during state restore, and needs to be able to find this constructor to instantiate it. If the empty constructor is not available, a runtime exception will occur in some cases during state restore. But the NewsReader demo from the official Android training on Fragments constructs the HeadlinesFragment class and configures it with setOnHeadlineSelectedListener(this) from NewsReaderActivity.onCreate(). If the Android OS re-instantiates this fragment, the mHeadlineSelectedListener field will be null because HeadlinesFragment doesn't save or restore its state. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

  • Coding guidelines + Best Practices?

    - by Chathuranga Chandrasekara
    I couldn't find any question that directly applies to my query so I am posting this as a new question. If there is any existing discussion that may help me, please point it out and close the question. Question: I am going to do a presentation on C# coding guidelines but it is not supposed to limit to coding standards. So I have a rough idea but I think I need to address good programing practices. So the contents will be something like this. Basic coding standards - Casing, Formatting etc. Good practices - Usage of Hashset over other data structures, String vs String Builder, String's immutability and using them effectively etc Really I would like to add more good practices (Especially to improve the performance.) So like to hear some more good practices to be used with C#. Any suggestions??? (No need of large descriptions :) Just the idea is sufficient.)

  • Determining actual args an Excel UDF was called with.

    - by Frederick
    I'm adding a user defined function to Excel with varargs-based signature in C++: XLFUNCTIONIMP(MyFunction)(...); When Excel calls MyFunction, it passes it 30 arguments regardless of how many the user entered in the sheet. The extraneous ones are blank strings. MyFunction, however, is designed to accept empty string arguments. As a result, I cannot tell valid empty strings apart from the extraneous ones sent by Excel. A solution could be to obtain the contents of the actual cell where the user entered the function. However, I can't find a way of doing that from within the implementation of my function. Could someone please suggest a way out?

  • how to settle JSF combobox with values depending on another combobox if both are set to required

    - by mykola
    Hi, everybody! Can anyone tell me how to automatically set <h:selectOneMenu (or any other component) with values depending on another <h:selectOneMenu if there empty elements with 'required' set to 'true' on the form? If to set <a4j:support event="onchange" reRender="anotherElement" immediate="true"/ then nothing is changed because changed value isn't set. But without immediate i always have message that this or that element cannot be empty. Here's code example that doesn't work :) <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.someField}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:selectOneMenu id="someSelect" value="#{MyBean.someObj.someId}" required="true" label="#{msg.someField}" > <a4j:support event="onchange" reRender="anotherSelect" limitToList="true" immediate="true"/> <f:selectItem itemValue=""/> <f:selectItems value="#{MyBean.someList}"/> </h:selectOneMenu> <rich:message for="someSelect" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.anotherField}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:selectOneMenu id="anotherSelect" value="#{MyBean.someObj.anotherId}" required="true" label="#{msg.anotherField}" > <f:selectItem itemValue=""/> <f:selectItems value="#{MyBean.anotherList}"/> </h:selectOneMenu> <rich:message for="anotherSelect" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.name}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:inputText id="myName" value="#{MyBean.someObj.myName}" required="true" label="#{msg.name}"/> <rich:message for="myName" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> So, here (i repeat), if i try to change 'someSelect' then 'anotherSelect' should update its values but it doesn't because either when it tries to get value of 'someSelect' it gets null (if immediate set to 'true') or form validation fails on empty elements. How can i skip validation but get this changed value from 'someSelect'?
