• SQL Query to duplicate records based on If statement

  Hi, I'm trying to write an SQL query that will duplicate records depending on a field in another table. I am running mySQL 5. (I know duplicating records shows that the database structure is bad, but I did not design the database and am not in a position to redo it all - it's a shopp ecommerce database running on wordpress.) Each product with a particular attribute needs a link to the same few images, so the product will need a row per image in a table - the database doesn't actually contain the image, just its filename. (the images are of clipart for a customer to select from) Based on these records... SELECT * FROM `wp_shopp_spec` WHERE name='Can Be Personalised' and content='Yes' I want to do something like this.. For each record that matches that query, copy records 5134 - 5139 from wp_shopp_asset but change the id so it's unique and set the cell in column 'parent' to have the value of 'product' from the table wp_shopp_spec. This will mean 6 new records are created for each record matching the above query, all with the same value in 'parent' but with unique ids and every other column copied from the original (ie. records 5134-5139) Hope that's clear enough - any help greatly appreciated.

• How do you keep text from wrapping in an NSTableView using NSAttributedString

  I have an NSTableView that has 2 columns, one for an icon and the other for two lines of text. In the second column, the text column, I have some larger text that is for the name of an item. Then I have a new line and some smaller text that describes the state of the item. When the name becomes so large that it doesn't fit on one line it wraps (or when you shrink the window down so small that it causes the names to not fit on a single line). row1=============== | image |  some name   | | image |   idle               | row2================ | image |  some name really long name   | <- this gets wrapped pushing 'idle' out of the view | image |   idle               | =================== My question is, how could I keep the text from wrapping and just have the NSTableView display a horizontal scroll-bar once the name is too large to fit?

  I'm working a simple EF/MVC app and I'm trying to implement some Repositories to handle my entities. One CaptionValue and other CaptionItem. In CaptionItem table has three columns 1. CaptionItem_Id int 2. Text nvarchar(255) 3. CaptionSet_Name nvarchar(255) Now, my question is how can I make the columnt type of Text to nvarchar(max)? Thanks in advance.

• VS2010 development web server does not use integrated-mode HTTP handlers/modules

  I am developing an ASP.NET MVC 2 web site, targeted for .NET Framework 4.0, using Visual Studio 2010. My web.config contains the following code: <system.webServer> <modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true"> <add name="XhtmlModule" type="DomenicDenicola.Website.XhtmlModule" /> </modules> <handlers> <add name="DotLess" type="dotless.Core.LessCssHttpHandler,dotless.Core" path="*.less" verb="*" /> </handlers> </system.webServer> When I use Build > Publish to put the web site on my local IIS7 instance, it works great. However, when I use Debug > Start Debugging, neither the HTTP handler nor module are executed on any requests. Strangely enough, when I put the handler and module <add /> tags back into <system.web /> under <httpHandlers /> and <httpModules />, they work. This seems to imply that the development web server is running in classic mode. How do I fix this?

• Turning on multiple result sets in an ODBC connection to SQL Server

  I have an application that originally needed to connect to Sybase (via ODBC), but I've needed to add the ability to connect to SQL Server as well. As ODBC should be able to handle both, I thought I was in a good position. Unfort, SQL Server will not let me, by default, nest ODBC commands and ODBCDataReaders - it complains the connection is busy. I know that I had to specify that multiple active result sets (MARS) were allowed in similar circumstances when connecting to SQL Server via a native driver, so I thought it wouldn't be an issue. The DSN wizard has no entr y when creating a SystemDSN. Some people have provided registry hacks to get around this, but this did not work (add a MARS_Connection with a value of Yes to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\system-dsn-name). Another suggestion was to create a file-dsn, and add "MARS_Connection=YES" to that. Didn't work. Finally, a DSN-less connection string. I've tried this one (using MultipleActiveResultSets - same variable as a Sql Server connection would use), "Driver={SQL Native Client};Server=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;Database=someDB;Uid=u;Pwd=p;MultipleActiveResultSets=True;" and this one: "Driver={SQL Native Client};Server=192.168.75.33\\ARIA;Database=Aria;Uid=sa;Pwd=service;MARS_Connection=YES;" I have checked the various connection-string sites - they all suggest what I've already tried.

• Properly maintain sorted state of Array/Set

  I'm trying to get data out of my MOC and then create some new objects based on those objects, and put it all back together, while keeping my sort state. The securities come out of the MOC in proper order. And everything seems to be fine until I do the assignment to the game at the bottom from setWithArray. The documentation says that setWithArray removed the duplicate objects, if there are any. I'm wonder if that's messing up my data, but I don't see a good alternative. The data is ultimately being pulled out into a UITableView. When I add items to the game manually, then they stay sorted, so I don't think the breaking of the sort is beyond the scope of what I've included here. This JComponent has the ability 1) To receive mouse event to draw figures on itself. Within ChartLayerUI, I add the following code @Override @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public void installUI(JComponent c) { super.installUI(c); JXLayer<JComponent> l = (JXLayer<JComponent>) c; l.getGlassPane().setLayout(new java.awt.BorderLayout()); // this.view is DefaultDrawingView drawing object. l.getGlassPane().add(this.view, java.awt.BorderLayout.CENTER); } However, after having the above code, I get the following outcome 1) My charting component ChartPanel are being blocked by DefaultDrawingView 2) My charting component no longer able to receive mouse event. • How do I programatically verify, create, and update SQL table structure?

  Scenario: I have an application (C#) that expects a SQL database and login, which are set by a user. Once connected, it checks for the existence of several table and creates them if not found. I'd like to expand on this by having the program be capable of adding columns to those tables if I release a new version of the program which relies upon the new columns. Question: What is the best way to programatically check the structure of an existing SQL table and create or update it to match an expected structure? I am planning to iterate through the list of required columns and alter the existing table whenever it does not contain the new column. I can't help but wonder if there's an approach that is different or better. Criteria: Here are some of my expectations and self-imposed rules: Newer versions of the program might no longer use certain columns, but they would be retained for data logging purposes. In other words, no columns will be removed. Existing data in the table must be preserved, so the table cannot simply be dropped and recreated. In all cases, newly added columns would allow null data, so the population of old records is taken care of by having default null values. Example: Here is a sample table (because visual examples help!): id sensor_name sensor_status x1 x2 x3 x4 1 na019 OK 0.01 0.21 1.41 1.22 Then, in a new version, I may want to add the column x5. The "x-columns" are all data-storage columns that accept null.

If you run the above code you'll hopefully see... 1) Editing the text widget triggers the event handler but it seems to fire it off without registering the actual change, 2) Even when the text widget is cleared (ie, keep pressing BackSpace) it still seems to have a one character length string, 3) The output widget only receives its update when the NEXT event trigger is fired despite the fact the data came on the previous event. Is this just how bindings work in tkinter or am i missing something here? The behaviour i would like when updating the input widget is: 1) Show the change, 2) Enter event handler, 3) Update output widget, 4) Show message box.

• Messages not forwarded to error queue when exception is thrown in handler (it works on my machine)

  e are using NServicebus 4.0.5 with sql server(sql server 2012) as transport. When the handler throws an exception, NSB does not retry or move the message to the error queue. Successful messages make it to the audit queue but the failed/errored ones don't! . Interestingly, all this works on our local machines(windows 7 ,sql server localdb) but not on windows server 2012 (sql server 2012). • Sprint velocity calculations

  Need some advice on working out the team velocity for a sprint. Our team normally consists of about 4 developers and 2 testers. The scrum master insists that every team member should contribute equally to the velocity calculation i.e. we should not distinguish between developers and testers when working out how much we can do in a sprint. The is correct according to Scrum, but here's the problem. Despite suggestions to the contrary, testers never help with non-test tasks and developers never help with non-dev tasks, so we are not cross functional team members at all. Also, despite various suggestions, testers normally spend the first few days of each sprint waiting for something to test. The end result is that typically we take on far more dev work than we actually have capacity for in the sprint. For example, the developers might contribute 20 days to the velocity calculation and the testers 10 days. If you add up the tasks after sprint planning though, dev tasks add up to 25 days and test tasks add up to 5 days. How do you guys deal with this sort of situation?

• SQLAlchemy: who is in charge of the "session"? ( and how to unit-test with sessions )

  I need some guidance on how to use session objects with SQLAlchemy, and how to organize Unit Tests of my mapped objects. What I would like to able to do is something like this: thing = BigThing() # mapped object child = thing.new_child() # create and return a related object thing.save() # will also save the child object In order to achieve this, I was thinking of having the BigThing actually add itself ( and it's children ) to the database -- but maybe this not a good idea? One reason to add objects as soon as possible is Automatic id values that are assigned by the database -- the sooner they are available, the fewer problems there are ( right? ) What is the best way to manage session objects? Who is in charge of the session? Should it be created only when required? or saved for a long time? What about Unit Tests for my mapped objects?...how should the session be handled? Is it ever OK to have mapped objects just automatically add themselves to a database? or is that going to lead to trouble?

  I would like create URL rewrite rule that will set default document for my virtual folders. eg. someting like this www.domain.com/en/ -> www.domain.com/en/index.aspx www.domain.com/hr/ -> www.domain.com/hr/index.aspx www.domain.com/de/ -> www.domain.com/de/index.aspx directories en, hr, de doesn't really exists on web server they are just markers for languange used in site used by home grown http module that will rewrite path with query params. Quick solution was define rule for every single lang, something like this : <rewrite> <rewriteMaps> <rewriteMap name="Langs"> <add key="/en" value="/en/index.aspx" /> <add key="/hr" value="/hr/index.aspx" /> <add key="/de" value="/de/index.aspx" /> </rewriteMap> </rewriteMaps> <rules> But I would really like solution that would not require changes in web.config and adding rewrite rule for every languange used on particular site. • Midiplayer stops playing sounds after 16 notes.

  Hi. I am currently programming a Piano Keyboard editor, much like the one you can find in Cubase, Logic, Reason etc.. I have this big grid, double array new int [13][9], which makes it 13 rows, 9 columns. The first column [0-12][0] is the Keyboard, at the top there's "high C" (midi note 72) and at the bottom there's "low C" (midi note 60). That column is an array of JButtons and when you press for example "low C", note 60 is being played by the Synthesizer. I've gotten this to work pretty OK as for now, but one problem I have is that I can only play 16 notes in a row, then it's like the Synthesizer shuts down or something. Do you guys have ANY idea of what the problem is? • 960 GridSystem, three grid_4 inside one grid_12

  I've created a 16 column layout with 960gs with a div class="grid_12" and after that a grid_4 (12+4...) Inside that grid_12 I wanted a three column style (3 grid_4). But the grid_4 boxes don't fit inside the grid_12, the last box drop into a second row. Shouldn't the 960gs framework be able to do this layout for me, have i missed anything? • Concatenate 2 text elements on a line with full-width border using CSS only

  Okay, I'm a newbie to CSS3, so please be gentle. ;-) I'm working with some Wordpress code (Woocommerce plugin, to be exact), and I'm trying to format a line of code in a sidebar so that 2 separate text items (one in an <a, the other in a <span are all on the same line, the full width of the column, and with a bottom border. • Save result of for loop in a vector

  i think I'm just too tired to see the mistake. i wrote a function to get the maximal value for two data sets from a for loop plot_zu <- function(x) {for (i in 1:x){ z=data_raw[grep(a[i], data_raw$Gene.names),] b=data_raw_ace[grep(a[i], data_raw_ace$Gene.names),] p<-vector("numeric", length(1:length(a))) p[i]<-max(z$t_test_diff) return(p)} } so picture: a is a vector of names and the data set (data_raw(_ace)) are filtered by it. In the end i would like to have all maxima values of column t_test_diff in a vector. After that i want to add the t_test_diff column values from data_raw_ace also. So the problem is, that i get this: [1] 1.210213 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 0.000000 [8] 0.000000 0.000000 So there is a problem with brackets or something but i cannot see it ( first value fits). Sorry for no good example but i think it is understandable and an easy to solve question. If im to dumb to explain my problem right, i will add an example. !! Thx a lot !! grateful Hendrik

  Currently I have two tables in my database Encounters and Referrals: There is a one to many relationship between these two tables. Currently they are linked together with foreign keys. Right now I have public class Encounter extends JPASupport implements java.io.Serializable { @Column(name="referralid", unique=false, nullable=true, insertable=true, updatable=true) public Integer referralid; } But what I really want is public class Encounter extends JPASupport implements java.io.Serializable { .......... @OneToMany(cascade=CascadeType.PERSIST) public Set<Referrals> referral; ............ } So that I can eventually do a query like this: List<Encounter> cases = Encounter.find( "select distinct p from Encounter p join p.referrals as t where t.caseid =103" ).fetch(); How do I tell JPA that even though I have non-standard column names for my foreign keys and primary keys that its the object models that I want linked, not simply the integer value for the keys? Does this make sense? I hope so. Thanks in advanced!
