  • Why do touches only get detected ABOVE my CCBitmapFontAtlas and not ON it? (cocos2d)

    - by RexOnRoids
    I am detecting touches for CCBitmapFontAtlas (just text labels) as shown in the code below. But it seems that touches are only detected slightly ABOVE the CCBitmapFontAtlases? Did something get screwed when converting between coordinate systems? (*Note objects label1, label2, etc are CCBitmapFontAtlas) - (void)ccTouchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { for( UITouch *touch in touches ) { CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:[touch view]]; location = [[CCDirector sharedDirector] convertToGL:location]; self.myGraphManager.isSliding = NO; CGRect rectLabel1 = CGRectMake(label1.position.x, label1.position.y, label1.contentSize.width, label1.contentSize.height); CGRect rectLabel2 = CGRectMake(label2.position.x, label2.position.y, label2.contentSize.width, label2.contentSize.height); CGRect rectLabel3 = CGRectMake(label3.position.x, label3.position.y, label3.contentSize.width, label3.contentSize.height); CGRect rectLabel4 = CGRectMake(label4.position.x, label4.position.y, label4.contentSize.width, label4.contentSize.height); CGRect rectLabel5 = CGRectMake(label5.position.x, label5.position.y, label5.contentSize.width, label5.contentSize.height); CGRect rectLabel6 = CGRectMake(label6.position.x, label6.position.y, label6.contentSize.width, label6.contentSize.height); if(CGRectContainsPoint(rectLabel1, location)){ NSLog(@"Label 1 Touched"); }else if(CGRectContainsPoint(rectLabel2, location)){ NSLog(@"Label 2 Touched"); }else if(CGRectContainsPoint(rectLabel3, location)){ NSLog(@"Label 3 Touched"); }else if(CGRectContainsPoint(rectLabel4, location)){ NSLog(@"Label 4 Touched"); }else if(CGRectContainsPoint(rectLabel5, location)){ NSLog(@"Label 5 Touched"); }else if(CGRectContainsPoint(rectLabel6, location)){ NSLog(@"Label 6 Touched"); } } }

  • subversioning ipad app project

    - by MistakesRInevitable
    Hi All, I am currently looking at setting up an Ipad app project into subversion. Ive had a lot of experience with windows based development and .net. With this we have just created a repository in a network folder (by just right clicking - TortiseSVN - create repository) , than all we have done is our developers have checked out from this directory. How do we go about doing this in xcode. I know subversion is integrated with xcode and I am pretty confident of doing everything (from tutorials) except for the creation of the repository. Just wondering how we go about creating a repository in a folder based up on network folder? Thanks in advance

But I check the operation on obj in function myFunction can not affect temObj where I call myFunction. Welcome any comment Thanks

  • NSInvocation making app crash

    - by neha
    Hi all, I'm using NSInvocation as follows: In my init, I'm writing this in my viewDidLoad: SEL mySelector; mySelector = @selector(initParsersetId:type:); NSMethodSignature * sig = nil; sig = [[self class] instanceMethodSignatureForSelector:mySelector]; myInvocation = nil; myInvocation = [NSInvocation invocationWithMethodSignature:sig]; [myInvocation setTarget:self]; [myInvocation setSelector:mySelector]; SEL mySelector; mySelector = @selector(initParsersetId:type:); NSMethodSignature * sig = nil; sig = [[self class] instanceMethodSignatureForSelector:mySelector]; myInvocation = nil; myInvocation = [NSInvocation invocationWithMethodSignature:sig]; [myInvocation setTarget:self]; [myInvocation setSelector:mySelector]; And I'm calling it like this: Idea *tempIdea = [[Idea alloc]init]; tempIdea = [genericArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; idea.ideaId = tempIdea.ideaId; [tempIdea release]; NSNumber *_id_ = [NSNumber numberWithInt:idea.ideaId]; [myInvocation setArgument:_id_ atIndex:2]; //CRASHING AT THIS LINE My application is crashing at the indicated line. • Using [self method] or @selector(method)?

    - by fuzzygoat
    Can anyone enlighten me as to the differences between the two statements below. [self playButtonSound]; AND: [self performSelector:@selector(playButtonSound)]; I am just asking as I had some old code that used @selector, now with a little more knowledge I can't think why I did not use [self playButtonSound] instead, they both seem to do the same as written here. gary

  • What exactly is a memory page fault?

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
    From the docs: Note: Core Data avoids the term unfaulting because it is confusing. There's no “unfaulting” a virtual memory page fault. Page faults are triggered, caused, fired, or encountered. Of course, you can release memory back to the kernel in a variety of ways (using the functions vm_deallocate, munmap, or sbrk). Core Data describes this as “turning an object into a fault”. Is a Fault in Core Data essentially a memory page fault? I have only a slight idea about what a memory page is. I believe it's a kind of "piece of code in memory" which is needed to execute procedures and stuff like that, and as the app is runing, pieces of code are sucked into memory as "pages" and thrown away as they're not needed anymore. Probably 99% wrong ;) Anyone?

  • dismissing uiwebview

    - by chimgrrl
    Ok, I really spend 2 days on this and it has gotten me stumped. From my main UIViewController I called a WebViewController which is a UIViewController with a UIWebView inside: UOLCategoriesWebViewController *ucwvcontroller = [[UOLCategoriesWebViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"UOLCategoriesWebViewController" bundle:nil]; [self presentModalViewController:ucwvcontroller animated:YES]; [ucwvcontroller release]; Inside the UOLCategoriesWebViewController I've call the delegate method shouldStartLoadWithRequest where when the user clicks on a particular type of link it parses out the params and return back to the main UIViewController (or at least that's what I want it to do): - (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView*)webView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest*)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType { BOOL continueOrExit = YES; NSURL *url = request.URL; NSString *urlString = [url relativeString]; NSString *urlParams = [url query]; NSArray *urlParamArr = [urlParams componentsSeparatedByString:@"&"]; NSLog(@"the url is: %@",urlString); //NSLog(@"the params are: %@,%@",[urlParamArr objectAtIndex:0],[urlParamArr objectAtIndex:1]); //BOOL endTrain1 = [[urlParamArr objectAtIndex:1] hasPrefix:@"subCatValue"]; //BOOL endTrain2 = ([urlParamArr objectAtIndex:1 //NSLog(@"Number of elements: %@",[urlParamArr count]); if (navigationType == UIWebViewNavigationTypeLinkClicked) { //NSLog(@"Enter into His glory"); if ([urlString hasSuffix:@"categories_list.php"]) { //NSLog(@"2nd Heaven"); continueOrExit = YES; }else if ([[urlParamArr objectAtIndex:1] hasPrefix:@"subCatValue"]) { continueOrExit = NO; NSLog(@"end of the train"); NSArray *firstParamStringArr = [[urlParamArr objectAtIndex:0] componentsSeparatedByString:@"="]; NSArray *secondParamStringArr = [[urlParamArr objectAtIndex:1] componentsSeparatedByString:@"="]; NSString *catSelected = [firstParamStringArr objectAtIndex:1]; NSString *subCatSelected = [secondParamStringArr objectAtIndex:1]; //go back to native app [self goBackToMain:catSelected andSubCat:subCatSelected]; } } return continueOrExit; } Actually in the above function where I am calling the goBackToMain method I want it to call the delegate method and return to the mainviewcontroller. Unfortunately after executing that goBackToMain method it goes back to this method and continue to return continueOrExit. Is there anyway to make it truly exit without returning anything? I've tried putting in multiple returns to no avail. Or can I in the html page pass some javascript to directly call this method so that I don't have to go through this delegate method? Thanks for the help in advance!

  • Switching between 2 UINavigationControllers

    - by Smikey
    Hi all, I seem to have a problem switching between 2 UINavigationControllers, i.e. one which controls the main (selection) menu of my application, and the second which controls the main session (i.e. the user can't go back to the selection menu once they're started a new session). The first works just fine, but I get into trouble when trying to load the second. I have a class called GameViewController which contains the second UINavigationController instance. I set this up as usual, linking it as an IBOutlet to the delegate and setting up the NavController in the GameViewController.xib file with its 'Class' property pointing at GameScreenViewController (my main game screen), and its NIB Name property pointing to the GameScreenViewController nib file. I then create a new instance of GameViewController and load it. In IB, the navigation controller looks fine, with its View 'loaded from "GameScreenViewController"', however when the NavigationController is loaded in the game, it actually loads the GameViewController's UIWindow instance (just a blank window). I'm not sure how to make it load the Navigation Controller's view rather than its own window? Also, another quick question. When I load the second navigation controller from the first, which makes more sense to use: [self.view addSubview:gameViewController.view]; or [self presentModalViewController:gameViewController animated:YES]; Thanks for any help, much appreciated :D Michael

  • How to select "child" entities in subview?

    - by Andy
    I am trying to manage a drill-down list of data. I've got an entity, Contact, that has a to-many relationship with another entity, Rule. In my root view controller, I use a fetched results controller to manage and display the list of Contacts. When a Contact is tapped, I push a new view controller onto the stack with a list of the Contact's Rules. I have not been able to figure out how to use a second fetched results controller to display the Rules, so I'm using the following: // create a set of the contact's rules rules = [NSMutableSet set]; rules = [self.contact mutableSetValueForKey:@"rule"]; // create an array of rules from the set arrayOfRules = [NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity:[rules count]]; for (id oneObject in rules) [arrayOfRules addObject:oneObject]; // sort the array of rules NSSortDescriptor *descriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"phoneLabel" ascending:YES]; [arrayOfRules sortUsingDescriptors:[NSArray arrayWithObject:descriptor]]; [descriptor release]; I create a set of Rules, then use that to create an array of Rules for sorting. I then use these two collections to populate the grouped table view. All of this appears to be working correctly. Here's my problem: There are several different actions a user can take in this view, and most of them require that I know which Rule was tapped. But I can't figure out how to get that. For instance, say a user wants to delete a Rule. It seems to me the proper approach is something like... [rules removeObject:ruleObjectToBeRemoved] ...but I can't figure out how to specifiy ruleObjectToBeRemoved. I hope all of this makes sense. As usual, thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

  • What causes a UIViewController to become active?

    - by Rob Bonner
    I am sure this is an easy question, but one that has escaped me for some time now. Say I have a UIViewController, either defined as a root in an XIB or on a stack. At some point in my code I want to replace it with another view controller. Just flat out replace it. How would I do that? I have tried defining the controller and assigning, but not sure what actually makes it push on the screen with the absence of a navigation controller.

  • Paged UIScrollView with UIImageViews only showing first UIImageVIew

    - by Jonathan Brown
    I am working on a paged UIScrollView, but it only wants to show the first UIImageView within it. I add each UIImageView at an offset of the width of the scroll view, so that should create each page. When run, it says the scroll view is the right number of pages, but the images don't show. Any help would be much appreciated! int numSlides = NUM_TUTORIAL_SLIDES; NSString *fileName; UIImageView *slideImageView; CGRect slideFrame; for (int i = 1; i <= numSlides; i++) { slideFrame.origin.x = self.tutorialScrollView.frame.size.width * (i-1); slideFrame.origin.y = 0; slideFrame.size = self.tutorialScrollView.frame.size; slideImageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:slideFrame]; if([[AppManager sharedManager] is4inchScreen]) { fileName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Slide%[email protected]", i]; } else { fileName = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Slide%[email protected]", i]; } slideImageView.image = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:fileName ofType:nil]]; [self.tutorialScrollView addSubview:slideImageView]; [slideImageView release]; } self.tutorialScrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(self.tutorialScrollView.frame.size.width * numSlides, self.tutorialScrollView.frame.size.height); self.tutorialScrollView.delegate = self;

  • resignFirstResponder when tapping UITableView?

    - by Canada Dev
    I have a UITableView with two custom cells and each of them has a subview with a UITextField inside it. I have tried adding a UIButton on top of the UITableView and have it resignFirstResponder but that just means you won't be able to tap anywhere else - not even on the UITextFields to enter text. How do I make it so if I tap outside those two UITextFields, I can call resignFirstResponder, so the user can get back to the other cells? Thanks
