  1. What is ASP.Net? It is a framework developed by Microsoft on which we can develop new generation web sites using web forms(aspx), MVC, HTML, Javascript, CSS etc. Its successor of Microsoft Active Server Pages(ASP). Currently there is ASP.NET 4.0, which is used to develop web sites. There are various page extensions provided by Microsoft that are being used for web site development. Eg: aspx, asmx, ascx, ashx, cs, vb, html, xml etc. 2. What’s the use of Response.Output.Write()? We can write formatted output  using Response.Output.Write(). 3. In which event of page cycle is the ViewState available?   After the Init() and before the Page_Load(). 4. What is the difference between Server.Transfer and Response.Redirect?   In Server.Transfer page processing transfers from one page to the other page without making a round-trip back to the client’s browser.  This provides a faster response with a little less overhead on the server.  The clients url history list or current url Server does not update in case of Server.Transfer. Response.Redirect is used to redirect the user’s browser to another page or site.  It performs trip back to the client where the client’s browser is redirected to the new page.  The user’s browser history list is updated to reflect the new address. 5. • .Net DataGridView "Index 0 does not have a value."

  I am having trouble with a DataGridView. I have a collection of 3 Items bound to the grid, when trying to delete one of the items and reload the grid. If have code of If (dlg.ShowDialog() = DialogResult.OK) Then 'Show dialog with grid on it End If On the opened dialog, I delete an item from the grid (which should in turn, delete the item from the collection, and re-load the grid), and it returns to the "If (dlg.show..." line, with the error of "A first chance exception of type 'System.IndexOutOfRangeException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll Additional information: Index 2 does not have a value. " (I have break into debugger set on for common language runtime errors) I can understand this error if i were trying to access any cells, row or columns, but im not, and then I would expect the exception to stop on the line of code that is trying to access this grid data, not the "If (dlg.ShowDialog()... " line Any ideas? Cheers

  I'm trying to mock a mapping interface IMapper: public interface IMapper<TFoo, TBar> { TBar Map(TFoo foo); TFoo Map(TBar bar); } In my test, I'm setting the mock mapper up to expect an invocation of each (around an NHibernate update operation): //... _mapperMock.Setup(m => m.Map(fooMock.Object)).Returns(barMock.Object); _mapperMock.Setup(m => m.Map(barMock.Object)).Returns(fooMock.Object); //... However, when the second Map invocation is made, the mapper mock throws because it is only expecting a single invocation. Watching the mapper mock during setup at runtime, I can look see the Map(TFoo foo) overload get registered, and then see it get replaced when the Map(TBar bar) overload is set up. Is this a problem with the way Moq handles setup, or is there a different syntax I need to use in this case?

• Performance of Silverlight Datagrid in Silverlight 3 vs Silverlight 4 on a mac

  I'm using Silverlight Beta 4 for a LOB application. After finding out today that I'll have to wait perhaps 4 months to be able to develop with SL4 on Visual Studio 2010 I'm thinking I need to downgrade my application to SL3 but thats another question. The problem is I'm noticing absolutely abismal performance for simple datagrids that work just fine on a PC when I'm running on a Mac. These grids contain only 5-10 columns and maybe 50 rows. Paging up and down takes about 1-2 seconds sometimes. I would appreciate anybody's experience in which of the following is the best solution: reverting to Silverlight 3 and hoping DataGrid is faster switching to 3rd party datagrid such as Telerik forgetting silverlight altogether I was hoping that possibly SL4 runtime might be updated but that won't happen probably for 3-4 months. Just a reminder - this is specifically a mac issue. Performance on my PC while slightly slow to populate the grid initially is fine.

There is always a cryptic message number that is a parameter. • Having trouble running code analysis from command prompt with msbuild

  I'm using VS2010 RC while targeting .NET 3.5. I can run code analysis via Visual Studio without a problem. However, when I try to run code analysis on our CI server it isn't getting executed.   I've got an asp.net application running on a windows 2008 64 bit server that gives an error after printing a crystal report. The server has CR 2008 runtime sp2 installed and views fine. When printing from the print button of the CR viewer the print dialog appears and prints correctly but throws the following error message after printing. "An error occurred on the server. Printing will be stopped. Would you like to view the error information" there is a yes or no option that points to an empty html file called PrintControlError.html. Other then this issue I've got no other troubles.

  Hi. We have dynamically created (i.e. during runtime, via code-behind) UserControls inside a Canvas. We want to bind the position (Canvas.Left and Canvas.Top) and width of those sizable and draggable UserControls to a ObservableCollection<. How would we achieve this if the Usercontrol is contained in a DataTemplate which in turn is used by a ListBox whose DataContext is set to the collection we want to bind to? In other words, how do we bind a control's position and size that doesn't exist in XAML, but in code only (because it's created by clicking and dragging the mouse)? Notice that the collection can be empty or not empty, meaning that the size and position stores in a collection item must be correctly bound to so that the UserControl can be sized and positioned correctly in the Canvas - via DataBinding. Is this possible?

• Creating a constant Dictionary in C#

  What is the most efficient way to create a constant (never changes at runtime) mapping of strings to ints? I've tried using a const Dictionary, but that didn't work out. I could implement a immutable wrapper with appropriate semantics, but that still doesn't seem totally right. For those who have asked, I'm implementing IDataErrorInfo in a generated class and am looking for a way to make the columnName lookup into my array of descriptors. I wasn't aware (typo when testing! d'oh!) that switch accepts strings, so that's what I'm gonna use. Thanks!

• axis2 web service behave differently when tested with web service client or with local test class

  Hello I need to update a facade to some web service proxy classes to a third party web service, and expose them as a service. This for two reason : to maintain the same interface for all application that need to use the system : actually its migrating and there are a few differences in the third party ws (method names); and to expose a simplified interface. The third party has provided me with a manual and some pregenerated proxy classes to their service (the java file says generated with axis2 1,4) . I've used netbeans 6.8 and the axis2 plugin to create an axis2 service . This service contains the proxy classes and the facade class which instantiate the web service proxy and calls its method; the facade class is exposed as service. I've used axis2 1.4 (at beginnig and later 1.5 ) and tomcat 6.0. The first test i did was to call the facede methods from inside the project itself and it worked. Then i've created a new project with a jax-ws web service client to call my class deployed on axis2. At this point has happened two strange thing : In the axis2 services page has appeared the third party proxy class as if it were a new service (if i try to get the wsdl axis raises an error ). eg. the proxy interface is named WebServiceAPI (_stub is the concrete class) and , after the first call to my service , i find a new "WebServicesAPI1272968932531_1" service inside axis . The call obvoiusly fail i've began to sniff soap messages with wireshark and i've found they differs when using proxy classes direclty from my facade test class by the messages created after being deployed on axis. i've noticed they differs for the presence of the soap header in the failing message. any help would be greatly appreciated : maybe i messed up something, there might be some incompatibilities or version mistakes? below i've added the signature of the third party proxy, its impementation and the different soap messages: /* * WebServicesAPI.java * This file was auto-generated from WSDL * by the Apache Axis2 version: 1.4 Built on : Apr 26, 2008 (06:24:30 EDT) */ package com.ibm.eci.wsapi; • Workaround for UpdateSourceTrigger LostFocus on Silverlight Datagrid?

  I have a Silverlight 2 application that validates data OnTabSelectionChanged. Immediately I began wishing that UpdateSourceTrigger allowed more than just LostFocus because if you click the tab without tabbing off of a control the LINQ object is not updated before validation. I worked around the issue for TextBoxes by setting focus to another control and then back OnTextChanged: Private Sub OnTextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As TextChangedEventArgs) txtSetFocus.Focus() sender.Focus() End Sub Now I am trying to accomplish the same sort of hack within a DataGrid. My DataGrid uses DataTemplates generated at runtime for the CellTemplate and CellEditingTemplate. I tried writing the TextChanged="OnTextChanged" into the TextBox in the DataTemplate, but it is not triggered. Anyone have any ideas?

  I am trying to put together an installer using WiX 3.0 and I'm unsure about one thing. I would like to use the FeaturesDlg dialog to allow the users to select features to install, but I need to be able to conditionally exclude some features from the list based on some input previously received, preferably from a managed Custom Action. I see that if I set the "Display" attribute of a Feature to "hidden" in the .wxs file that it does what I want, but I can't figure out a way to change that attribute at runtime. Any pointers would be great.

  Hey everybody, I developed an Eclipse plugin (a view) using the plugin development version of Eclipse. I exported the plugin as a jar archive and now I would like import it in another version of Eclipse, but it doesn't recognize the plugin. This is my first plugin so I might have forgotten something obvious. I searched the internet for hours but didn't find anything. Does anybody know what else I have to do? Btw, the dependencies of my plugin are: org.eclipse.ui, org.eclipse.core.runtime, org.eclipse.core.filesystem, edu.tum.cs.eclipse.commons, org.eclipse.ui.ide, org.eclipse.core.resources The version I'd like to import it in is the default Eclipse for PHP Developers from eclipse.org. • Logging Into a site that uses Live.com authentication with C#

  I've been trying to automate a log in to a website I frequent, www.bungie.net. The site is associated with Microsoft and Xbox Live, and as such makes uses of the Windows Live ID API when people log in to their site. I am relatively new to creating web spiders/robots, and I worry that I'm misunderstanding some of the most basic concepts. I've simulated logins to other sites such as Facebook and Gmail, but live.com has given me nothing but trouble. Anyways, I've been using Wireshark and the Firefox addon Tamper Data to try and figure out what I need to post, and what cookies I need to include with my requests. As far as I know these are the steps one must follow to log in to this site. 1. Visit https: //login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=11&ct=1268167141&rver=5.5.4177.0&wp=LBI&wreply=http:%2F%2Fwww.bungie.net%2FDefault.aspx&id=42917 2. Recieve the cookies MSPRequ and MSPOK. 3. Post the values from the form ID "PPSX", the values from the form ID "PPFT", your username, your password all to a changing URL similar to: https: //login.live.com/ppsecure/post.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=11&ct= (there are a few numbers that change at the end of that URL) 4. Live.com returns the user a page with more hidden forms to post. The client then posts the values from the form "ANON", the value from the form "ANONExp" and the values from the form "t" to the URL: http ://www.bung ie.net/Default.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0 5. After posting that data, the user is returned a variety of cookies the most important of which is "BNGAuth" which is the log in cookie for the site. Where I am having trouble is on fifth step, but that doesn't neccesarily mean I've done all the other steps correctly. I post the data from "ANON", "ANONExp" and "t" but instead of being returned a BNGAuth cookie, I'm returned a cookie named "RSPMaybe" and redirected to the home page. When I review the Wireshark log, I noticed something that instantly stood out to me as different between the log when I logged in with Firefox and when my program ran. It could be nothing but I'll include the picture here for you to review. I'm being returned an HTTP packet from the site before I post the data in the fourth step.   I've read all the results I can find on SO about this without finding anything that applies to me, so don't judge me too quickly :) I am using jquery.autocomplete downloaded from here: http://www.dyve.net/jquery/?autocomplete together with http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jquery/jquery-1.3.2.js This all works well in IE8 and FF, but as soon as I activate compability mode in IE8 I keep getting: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method When looking in the call stack, This is the one where it breaks: <script type="text/javascript"> $().ready(function() { $("#friendsearch").autocomplete("/Account/FindFriends"); }); </script> and then the calling function is this: if ( jQuery.readyList ) { // Execute all of them jQuery.each( jQuery.readyList, function(){ this.call( document, jQuery ); }); // Reset the list of functions jQuery.readyList = null; } where this line throws the error: this.call( document, jQuery ); Does anybody know why this happens?
