  • accessing embedded object with jquery not working in firefox 3.6

    Hi, this code in my plugin used to work just fine: jQuery('#embedded_obj', context).get(0).getVersion(); and in html... <object id="embedded_obj" type="application/x-versionchecker-1.0.0.1"</object Basically trying to get the properties from an embedded object. But it looks like get(0) is returning an html object instead of the actual embedded object. For example, if I do: var launcher = jQuery('#embedded_obj', context).get(0); for(prop in launcher){ alert(prop + ': ' + launcher[prop]); } ... it alerts things like "getElementByNode," "scrollWidth," "clientLeft," "clientTop" etc. Again this worked before Firefox 3.6. Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

  • Large Scale VHDL modularization techniques

    I'm thinking about implimenting a 16 bit CPU in VHDL. A simplish CPU. ADD, MULS, NEG, BitShift, JUMP, Relitive Jump, BREQ, Relitive BREQ, i don't know somethign along these lines Probably all only working with 16bit operands. I might even cut it down and use only a single operand and a accumulator. With Some status regitsters, Carry, Zero, Neg (unless i use a Accumlator), I know how to design all the parts from logic gates, and plan to build them up from first priciples, So for my ALU I'll need to 'build' a ADDer, proably a Carry Look ahead, group adder, this adder it self is make up oa a couple of parts, wich are themselves made up of a couple of parts. Anyway, my problem is not the CPU design, or the VHDL (i know the language, more or less). It's how i should keep things organised. How should I use packages, How should I name my processes and port maps? (i've never seen the benifit of naming the port maps, or processes)

  • Example code of libssh2 being used for port forwarding

    I'm looking for an example of how to use libssh2 to setup ssh port forwarding. I've looked at the API, but there is very little in the way of documentation in the area of port forwarding. For instance, using PuTTY plink, There is the remote port to listen on, but also the local port that traffic should be sent to. Is it the developers responsibility to do this part? Can an example be developed of this? Also, for the opposite, where a remote port is brought to a local port, do I use libssh2_channel_direct_tcpip_ex? What about an example of this? I really need to do this exact thing on a project right now. How hard would it be to develop a couple of samples of this? I'm willing to put up a bounty if need be to get a couple of working examples of this.

    The challenge: Build an ASCII chart of the most commonly used words in a given text. The rules: Only accept a-z and A-Z (alphabetic characters) as part of a word. Ignore casing (She == she for our purpose). Ignore the following words (quite arbitary, I know): the, and, of, to, a, i, it, in, or, is Clarification: considering don't: this would be taken as 2 different 'words' in the ranges a-z and A-Z: (don and t). Optionally (it's too late to be formally changing the specifications now) you may choose to drop all single-letter 'words' (this could potentially make for a shortening of the ignore list too). Parse a given text (read a file specified via command line arguments or piped in; presume us-ascii) and build us a word frequency chart with the following characteristics: Display the chart (also see the example below) for the 22 most common words (ordered by descending frequency). The bar width represents the number of occurences (frequency) of the word (proportionally). Append one space and print the word. Make sure these bars (plus space-word-space) always fit: bar + [space] + word + [space] should be always <= 80 characters (make sure you account for possible differing bar and word lenghts: e.g.: the second most common word could be a lot longer then the first while not differing so much in frequency). Maximize bar width within these constraints and scale the bars appropriately (according to the frequencies they represent). My goal is to port a legacy JEE application (pre-EJB 3.x) to Tomcat with embedded EJB container. My choices currently stand as follows: JBoss Embeddable EJB Apache OpenEJB OW2 Consortium EasyBeans anything else? I am expecting to use JMS (with MDBs), Session beans (stateful and stateless), JPA and I am really excited about using JSF with Seam. Now, given choices above, are there any advantages in using one or another embedded EJB provider?

    Hi, I'm looking for a framework which allows me to manage my application through a webbased GUI (using an embedded webserver) instead of winforms. Something like this: http://www.webtoolkit.eu/wt but then for .NET In my code I should be able to instantiate classes (like buttons, forms etc), and when a user browses to a given port, the app should render it as javascript/ajax etc etc. preferably, when buttons are pushed, a notification in my code should be called. this is a less specific question than another one I posted about extjs. I hope this will attract more viewers since it is more generic Thanks. Update: cassini like solutions don't fit the bill. Since the webbrowser is embedded in my application, there is no need for ASP.NET server side scripts. I would rather have the framework, call functions inside my application when things happen on the page. onButtonClicked() for instance.

  • SEO redirects for removed pages

    Hi, Apologies if SO is not the right place for this, but there are 700+ other SEO questions on here. I'm a senior developer for a travel site with 12k+ pages. We completely redeveloped the site and relaunched in January, and with the volatile nature of travel, there are many pages which are no longer on the site. Examples: /destinations/africa/senegal.aspx /destinations/africa/features.aspx Of course, we have a 404 page in place (and it's a hard 404 page rather than a 30x redirect to a 404). Our SEO advisor has asked us to 30x redirect all our 404 pages (as found in Webmaster Tools), his argument being that 404's are damaging to our pagerank. He'd want us to redirect our Senegal and features pages above to the Africa page (which doesn't contain the content previously found on Senegal.aspx or features.aspx). An equivalent for SO would be taking a url for a removed question and redirecting it to /questions rather than showing a 404 'Question/Page not found'. My argument is that, as these pages are no longer on the site, 404 is the correct status to return. I'd also argue that redirecting these to less relevant pages could damage our SEO (due to duplicate content perhaps)? It's also very time consuming redirecting all 404's when our site takes some content from our in-house system, which adds/removes content at will. Thanks for any advice, Adam

  • What HTTP redirect status should I use to link offsite?

    While randomly browsing my website via Google, I noticed that it was showing up remote redirects as local files. Now this can be both good and bad, but I'm wondering how can I fix this so it doesn't happen? I'm currently using PHP and header('Location: ... which sends a 302 redirect. Looking over the list of HTTP status codes, I'd take a guess that I should be using 303 redirects to redirect offsite. Is anyone able to help me here, and either confirm/deny this, or tell me what I should be doing instead? Obviously, due to me not being able to tell Google to reindex my site on command, there's issues with being able to test this myself...

Th given php-file has to start at the beginning of the needed function.   • WeakReferences are not freed in embedded OS

    I've got a strange behavior here: I get a massive memory leak in production running a WPF application that runs on a DLOG-Terminal (Windows Embedded Standard SP1) that behaves perfectly fine if I run it localy on a normal desktop (Win7 prof.) After many unsucessful attempts to find any problem I put one of those directly beside my monitor, installed the ANTs MemoryProfiler and did one hour test run simulating user operations on both the terminal and my development PC. Result is, that due to some strange reasons the embedded system piles up a huge amount of WeakReference and EffectiveValueEntry[] Objects. Here are are some pictures: Development (PC): And the terminal: Just look at the class list... Has anyone seen something like this before and are there known solutions to this? Where can I get help? (PS the terminals where installed with images prepared for .net4)
