  • Test if a Property is not Null before Returning

    - by DaveDev
I have the following property public MyType MyProperty {get;set;} I want to change this property so that if the value is null, it'll do populate the value first, and then return it... but without using a private member variable. For instance, if I was doing this: public MyType MyProperty { get { if (_myProperty != null) return _myProperty else _myProperty = XYZ; return _myProperty; } set { _myProperty = value; } } is this possible? Or do I need the member variable to get it done?

  • Enumerations and String values in ASP.NET

    - by Jason
I'm looking for some best practice advice on enumerations and retrieving an associated string value. Given this: public enum SerialKillers { TedBundy, EdGein, AlbertFish, GeorgeBush } What is the best way to get a related string value of the name? Eg. "Ted Bundy", given that the string value may not match the representation in the enumeration. eg "George W Bush" My current thinking is function accepting an enum and returning a string, but would that not mean hard coding the string values (which I prefer not to do)? Is using a resources file where the string can be retrieved via the enumeration too heavy handed? Should I accept the fact I am going to Hell for victimising Ted Bundy by associating him with George Bush?

  • Json.NET - How to serialize a class using custom resolver

    - by Mendy
I want to serialize this class: public class CarDisplay { public string Name { get; set; } public string Brand { get; set; } public string Year { get; set; } public PictureDisplay[] Pictures { get; set; } } public class PictureDisplay { public int Id { get; set; } public string SecretKey { get; set; } public string AltText { get; set; } } To this Json test: { Name: "Name value", Brand: "Brand value", Year: "Year value", Pictures: ["url1", "url2", "url3"] } Note that each Car have an pictures array with only url string, instead of all the properties that Picture class have. I know that Json.NET have the notion of Custom Resolver, but I don't sure exactly how to use it.

  • Exim 4 pipe select command/script from mysql db

    - by axel.klein
Is there an option to run a mysql lookup in the pipe driver of exim? MYSQL_Q_SCRIPT=SELECT script FROM MYSQL_EMAILTABLE WHERE domain='${quote_mysql:$domain}' AND local_part='${quote_mysql:$local_part}' command = "${lookup mysql {MYSQL_Q_SCRIPT}{$value} I am always getting an error like this: "Expansion of "${lookup" from command "${lookup mysql {SELECT script FROM emails WHERE domain='${quote_mysql:$domain}' AND local_part='${quote_mysql:$local_part}'}{$value}}" in run_script transport failed: missing lookup type" The problem is that exactly the same query works fine in the appenddriver. So I do not see the mistake.

  • javascript onkeypressed not giving current text box content

    - by Austin
I have an html form like this: <form id="boxy" action="layout.html" method="get" accept-charset="utf-8"> <input type="text" id="a" onkeypress="Boxy.Check(this);"> </form> Invoking javascript like this: Boxy.Check = function() { input = document.getElementById(this.currentSelector.id).value; console.log("\"" + input + "\""); }; However, this.value is the previous value before onkeypress. For example, if I just type "A" into the form, console.log() prints "". And if I type "AA", console.log prints "A". Is there a way to get the current content of the input?

  • forloop and table in latex

    - by Tim
    Hi, Here is the latex code for my table: \begin{table}{| c || c | c | c || c | c | c | } \caption{Examples of the concepts. \label{tab:conceptsimgs}}\\ \hline \backslashbox{Concept}{Class} &\multicolumn{3}{|c||}{Negative Class} & \multicolumn{3}{|c|}{Positive Class} \\ \hline \forloop{themenumber}{1}{\value{themenumber} < 4}{ %\hline \arabic{themenumber} \forloop{classnumber}{0}{\value{classnumber} < 2}{ \forloop{imagenumber}{1}{\value{imagenumber} < 4}{ & 0 } } \\ \hline } \end{table} Something is wrong in the result however. There is some extra thing at the end of the table, as shown in this image. How can I fix it? Thanks and regards!

  • ASP .NET: SQL Server Money Type and .NET Currency Type

    - by Rudi Ramey
MS SQL Server's Money Data Type seems to accept a well formatted currency value with no problem (example: $52,334.50) From my research MS SQL Sever just ignores the "$" and "," characters. ASP .NET has a parameter object that has a Type/DbType property and Currency is an available option to set as a value. However, when I set the parameter Type or DbType to currency it will not accept a value like $52,334.50. I receive an error "Input string was not in a correct format." when I try to Update/Insert. If I don't include the "$" or "," characters it seems to work fine. Also, if I don't specify the Type or DbType for the parameter it seems to work fine also. Is this just standard behavior that the parameter object with its Type set to currency will still reject "$" and "," characters in ASP .NET? Here's an example of the parameter declaration (in the .aspx page): <asp:Parameter Name="ImplementCost" DbType="Currency" />

  • Ending a Rails 2 URL with an IP address causes routing error?

    - by Dave Williams
I'm trying to construct URLs in the format http://servername/find/by/CRITERION/VALUE CRITERION is a finite set of strings, as is VALUE. Trouble is, VALUE needs to be an IP address in some situations, and it's causing me a routing error. Here's my route: map.find 'find/by/:criterion/:query', :controller => "find", :action => "by" And the error, from the Mongrel logs: Processing ApplicationController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2010-05-07 10:20:32) [GET] ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches "/find/by/ip/1.2.3.4" with {:method=>:get}): Rendering rescues/layout (not_found) If I visit /find/by/foo/bar or /find/by/foo/1234 I don't have problems. I suspect the problem might be Rails' inference of MIME types based on periods in the URL, but I don't really know how I can disable that. I've tried passing a :defaults = {:format = :html} to the route but that causes Mongrel to fail to start entirely. Any help appreciated!

  • jQuery jPicker > Assign color of jPicker from a text link (not from jPicker)

    - by Scott B
    I've got a list of frequently used hex colors that I'd like to list under my jPicker bound input text field and I'd like to figure out how to change the value of the jPicker active color without opening the jPicker color selector palette. I've managed to create a function that updates the input field thats bound to the jPicker, but the colors of the background and picker.gif do not update. I'd like to force the background colors to update as if the color was selected from jPicker itself. Here's my code for the activation link... <span onclick=doColor(1,'cc9900')>cc9900</span> And here's the js handler function doColor(el, color) { if(el){$('#theme_header_color').attr('value', color);} else{$('#theme_sidebar_color').attr('value', color);} }

  • jquery select item in radiobuttonlist via client-side function

    - by mcliedtk
I have the following ASP.NET RadioButtonList: <asp:RadioButtonList ID="rbl" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Text="Type1" Value="1" /> <asp:ListItem Text="Type2" Value="2" /> </asp:RadioButtonList> I would like to select an item in the list programmatically via a client-side jquery function like this (simplified version): function BindWidget(widget) { // Type property of Widget is an int. $("#<%=rbl.ClientID%>").selectItemByValue(widget.Type); } Ideally, there is some function - in the above code I have proposed selectItemByValue - that selects an item in a RadioButtonList by a given value. Does jquery have a similar function built-in? If not, how should I go about implementing the desired functionality?

  • Read cookies in silverlight

    - by Dharam Narayan
hi, I have an ASP.NET MVC application. In this after user get Sign in .We set the a cookie for the user who logged in using FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(userName, false). In other page we get the Cookies using the FormsAuthentication.GetAuthCookie(userName]) . This cookie values as string is then set in the Response.Cookies["username"].Value = cookiesvalue . We have .aspx page in the same application that downloads silverlight application .Silverlight reads the cookies using the code string[] cookies = HtmlPage.Document.Cookies.Split(';'); The problem is that once session expires in the application, silverlight cannot read the cookie value. After the session expires we again set the cookies in headers using the Response.Cookies["username"].Value = cookiesvalue . But still silverlight application cannot read this cookie . Thanks in Advance DNM

  • UIPickerView selectedRowInComponent: returns stale data after code adjusts it

    - by Eric Lloyd
I have a UIPickerView with multiple components. Some values are grayed out, and my pickerView:didSelectRow:inComponent honors this by shifting the picker component in question to the nearest valid value, much as UIDatePicker moves from "30" to "28" when you select "February". Then it calls a delegate method to announce the adjusted value. When my adjuster method calls my UIPickerView's selectRow:inComponent:animated:YES, the value on screen is correct, but the values from selectedRowInComponent: are stale (from before the adjustment for gray values). However, if I call selectRow:inComponent:animated:NO, the returned values are correct, but the lack of animation is jarring. I've tried wrapping the adjustment in a beginAnimations:/commitAnimations block and catching the values in UIView's +animationDidStopSelector, but I still get stale values. Has anyone run into this before?

  • SQLite INTERSECT gives a huge performance decrease

    - by Derk
I have a query that runs in less than 1 ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 However, when I combine it with another query using INTERSECT, the query now takes more than 250ms: SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int INTERSECT SELECT product_to_value.category AS category, features.name AS featurename, featurevalues.name AS valuename FROM product_to_value, features, featurevalues WHERE product_to_value.category IN(:int, :bla, :bla1) AND product_to_value.feature = features.int AND product_to_value.value = featurevalues.int LIMIT 10 This can't be right. I've tried several index combinations, for example an index on all columns I use in my query, but to no avail. I've tried compound indexes as well, but they only slow things down even more. I have read a few things about SQLite and how it treats indexes. I know SQLite is capable of delivering sick performance, and surely I must be overlooking something.

  • [iPhone] Objective-C : UIScrollView manual paging

    - by Daniel
Hi Folks! I want to use the scrollview as something like a picker in horizontal mode. The scrollview holds up to seven subviews. Each subview represents a value. Always three views are visible and the one in the middle is the selected one. Scrollview visible at start: __ | V1 | V2 Scrollview set to view/value two: V1 | V2 | V3 Scrollview set to last value: V2 | V3 | __ The real problem I have got is the "pagingEnabled" flag. If pagingEnabled is set to YES the scrollview pages always three subviews/values instead of only one. If pagingEnabled is set to NO the scrollview does not clinch. Is there a nice solution for my problem? Thanks a lot, Dan ;)

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 RC2 Model Binding with NVARCHAR NOT NULL column

    - by Gary McGill
I have a database column defined as NVARCHAR(1000) NOT NULL DEFAULT(N'') - in other words, a non-nullable text column with a default value of blank. I have a model class generated by the Linq-to-SQL Classes designer, which correctly identifies the property as not nullable. I have a TextAreaFor in my view for that property. I'm using UpdateModel in my controller to fetch the value from the form and populate the model object. If I view the web page and leave the text area blank, UpdateModel insists on setting the property to NULL instead of empty string. (Even if I set the value to blank in code prior to calling UpdateModel, it still overwrites that with NULL). Which, of course, causes the subsequent database update to fail. I could check all such properties for NULL after calling UpdateModel, but that seems ridiculous - surely there must be a better way? Please don't tell me I need a custom model binder for such a simple scenario...!

  • How can I bind a winforms Opacity to a TrackBar (slider)

    - by Allen
I've got a winform with a BindingSource that has an int property named Opacity in its DataSource. I also have a TrackBar on the winform that I want to use to control the Opacity of the winform. I've bound the Value property on the TrackBar to the Opacity and that functions just fine, sliding the TrackBar will change the variable from TrackBar.Minimum (0) to TrackBar.Maximum (1). I've also bound the Opacity property of the winform to this value, however, since the TrackBar's values only go from Minimum to Maximum in +/-1 rather than +/- .1 or so (like Opacity does), it doesn't properly fade the winform. Instead, 0 will turn it opaque and 1 will turn it fully visible. I need a way to work within the architecture described above, but get the TrackBar to change its value from 0 to 1 in defined increments smaller than 1.

  • Prevent SQL injection from form-generated SQL - NO PreparedStmts

    - by Markos Fragkakis
Hi all, I have a search table where user will be able to filter results with a filter of the type: Field [Name], Value [John], Remove Rule Field [Surname], Value [Blake], Remove Rule Field [Has Children], Value [Yes], Remove Rule Add Rule So the user will be able to set an arbitrary set of filters, which will result essentially in a completely dynamic WHERE clause. In the future I will also have to implement more complicated logical expressions, like Where (name=John OR name=Nick) AND (surname=Blake OR surname=Bourne), Of all 10 fields the user may or may not filter by, I don't know how many and which filters the user will set. So, I cannot use a prepared statement (which assumes that at least we know the fields in the WHERE clause). This is why prepared statements are unfortunately out of the question, I have to do it with plain old, generated SQL. What measures can I take to protect the application from SQL Injection (REGEX-wise or any other way)?

  • Powerbuilder Dynamic Array Manipulation

I think the line 'array[3]' is wrong, but I think I've read that this should remove the array cell. What would be the right way to remove an array cell? Does it depend on object type? (String vs Number vs Object) Or Can one manipulate the UpperBound value to make it work? i.e. after removing Item 3, I want the UpperBound, or arraylength, to be 2, since this is logically correct.

  • Is there any difference between null and 0 when assigning to pointers in unsafe code?

    - by Eloff
This may seem odd, but in C (size_t)(void*)0 == 0 is not guaranteed by the language spec. Compilers are allowed to use any value they want for null (although they almost always use 0.) In C#, you can assign null or (T*)0 to a pointer in unsafe code. Is there any difference? (long)(void*)0 == 0 (guaranteed or not? put another way: IntPtr.Zero.ToInt64() == 0) MSDN has this to say about IntPtr.Zero: "The value of this field is not equivalent to null." Well if you want to be compatible with C code, that makes a lot of sense - it'd be worthless for interop if it didn't convert to a C null pointer. But I want to know if IntPtr.Zero.ToInt64() == 0 which may be possible, even if internally IntPtr.Zero is some other value (the CLR may or may not convert null to 0 in the cast operation) Not a duplicate of this question

  • PHP - How to use Php inside Php?

Here's an example of what I'm trying to do. Bear in mind that $idx already has a value from the URL of the page. <?php $query = "SELECT * FROM comment WHERE uname='$idx'"; $result = mysql_query($query); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { echo "<img src='' name='comm' width='75px' height='60px' id='mainimage' />"; } ?> How would I make the source value, for the image, come from a different table?
