• Gaps between items in my ListBox

  When I create ListBox with horizontal items ordering for example like this: <DockPanel> <ListBox> <ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <VirtualizingStackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ListBoxItem> <Button Content="Hello" /> </ListBoxItem> <ListBoxItem> <Button Content="Hello" /> </ListBoxItem> </ListBox> </DockPanel> I have small gaps between buttons in the list as indicated by the arrows on following picture: How can I get rid of those gaps please ? I need to have items in ListBox just next to each other. I have tried changing ItemTemplate of the ListBox but it did not help.

• UIViewTableCell didSelectRowAtIndexPath is calling but not pushing a view controller

  Hi guys, so im having a UIViewController view with a UITableView. So the UIViewController class name is SelectionScreen. The UITableView class name is SelectionScreenTable. Picture: http://img717.imageshack.us/i/screenshot20100609atpm0.png/ I have declared a UITableView *selectionTable in SelectionScreen class and connected it to the xib file of the SelectionScreen what the problem is , is that when i click a row in the table,it stays selected as highlighted blue, it calls the didSelectRowAtIndexPath (checked with NSLog) but not pushing a new view which is called(GraphView). This is the code which i use to call the new controller WHICH WORKS with a normal button GraphView *aSelectionScreenViewController = [[GraphView alloc] initWithNibName:@"GraphView" bundle:nil]; [self presentModalViewController:aSelectionScreenViewController animated: YES]; [aSelectionScreenViewController release]; I searched around and found that I need to set a delegate for the table in the UITableView class itself on the viewload tableview.delegate = self; or self.tableview.delegate = self; But it was not working. the controller was still not being pushed, and yes i have checked the controller is not nil as i tried it with a simple button. So i was thinking whether i should set the delegate of the UITableView at the UIViewController instead, so i tried this code selectionTable.delegate = selectionTable.self; but obviously it did not work =\, it messed up the whole UITableView and caused all the cells to be its predefined settings. So does anybody have any idea on how i can get it to work.

  Assume that I have the ItemSource bound and i am getting the data. Now what I want is this. The ItemSource will contain Data that tells where each button should be. • parsing string off a configuration using strtok in C

  in the configuration file i have entries similar to this one: filepath = c:\Program Files\some value Where the path can contain spaces and there are no quotes on that string. I tried parsing this with strtok like: char *option; char *value; value = strtok(line, " ="); strcpy(option, value); value = strtok(NULL, " ="); where line is the line I am reading from the file, option will contain the left side of the equal (filepath) and value will contain the right side (c:\program files\some value). I know, it's poor coding, but I haven't found something better. sorry... In any case, for those options where there's no space in the right side it works great, but in those containing spaces it only return the string until the 1st space: c:\Program. Is there any other way to do this? Code is appreciated. Jessica

  In my ViewController I am using UIButton which triggers some action when touchedUpInside. Upto here no problem, but i also want to add another action for touchDown event. More precisely i dont have an idea how to add that action to which event, that will work the same as when App-Icon is pressed longer in springboard which causes springboard enter in editing mode.Actually what i want is : when this button is kept holding for ,say about 2 seconds it will pop-up an alertView without touch being heldUp (with finger is still on button). I have tried with 2 NSdate difference, one of which is allocated when touchedDown and other when touchUpInside. Its working and popping alert,but only after touchedUpInside. I want it to show alert without touch being removed. Here is the code. • How should I deploy a patch to a Passenger-based production Rails application without downtime?

  I have a Passenger-based production Rails application which has thousands of users. Occasionally we need to apply a code patch (we use git) and the current process for doing this (you can assume there are no data migrations) is: Perform git pull origin [production-branch-name] on the server touch tmp/restart.txt to restart Passenger This allows us to patch the server without having to resort to putting up a maintenance page, which is great, but it doesn't feel quite right since it's not actually a proper 'deployment', and we still need to manually update the revision file and our deployment doesn't appear in the Hoptoad or NewRelic services we use. Ideally I would run cap production deploy and just let the standard Capistrano deployment script take care of everything, but is this a dangerous thing to do without putting up a maintenance page? This deployment process seems to be fairly safe in that the new revision is deployed to a completely separate folder and only right at the end of the process is a symlink re-created to switch the currently deployed version, but I'm still fairly paranoid about this somehow resulting in a lost or failed request.

  I've heard soooo many people complain about VSS, and noooo people complaining about SVN. We use SVN on my work project. It's slow, regularly freezes up my IDE, and has wonky behavior like looking for a database server every time I right-click the Solution node in my Solution Explorer. When I used VSS, everything worked beautifully, except for access restrictions which I of course blame on the people who control access. VSS is built by Microsoft and thus has great integration with Visual Studio. SVN is written by pretty much anybody with some free time (right?) and thus kinda works most of the time... And I honestly get the impression they had a dozen different directions in the design instead of one. So why do I keep hearing that SVN is better than VSS?

• lwjgl 101: How can I write applets?

  I have a working app in lwjgl. It doesn't do much yet; I've just started, but it does compile and run like it's supposed to. I want to make it into an applet. I've followed the guide here, and I have an applet that runs nicely and displays text and such in the applet area and can access the functions of lwjgl (like Sys.alert), but I can't figure out how to get opengl to actually render. I've tried extending an AWTGLCanvas and calling this.add(myAWTGLCanvas), where this is the Applet that I'm using, but... nothing. The initGL() and paintGL() methods never get called. I wonder if I'm supposed to be doing something with Display, but that's not for applets, right? Help? Also: This counts as a "beginner" question, right? But how to do the same thing in Linux ? for example when I am testing a local server: cd sudo /etc/init.d/vsftpd start wget ... ls emacs ... sudo /etc/init.d/vsftpd restart sudo /etc/init.d/vsftpd stop ... In Dos you can easily type sudo and switch among the three commands beginning with it using arrow keys. But in Linux, is below command the best we can do ? historty | grep sudo I don't like it, because history can easily become a mess, and it also need mouse action.

• Strange scaling when duplicating monitors with another screen

  I can't get two monitors to scale application resolutions the same way. My main monitor works normally. My second monitor however, which is set to duplicate its image onto a TV I have in my room, renders the applications in a far lower resolution than the 1080p I've set it to. Also, the mouse pointer on the second monitor is enormous, it looks 2-3 times bigger than the one on the main monitor. I've checked the "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays", to no avail. Here are some comparison pictures. Metro on the main monitor: Metro on monitor 2 (set to 1080p and to duplicate on a TV): This issue only seem to arise when I duplicate the monitor onto the TV. Does anyone have any idea of how to solve this?

This is my latest attempt. • Appropriate wx.Sizer(s) for the job?

  I have a space in which I would like certain elements (represented here by A, B, D, and G) to each be in its own "corner" of the design. The corners ought to line up as if each of the four elements was repelling the other; a rectangle. This is to be contained within an unresizable panel. I will have several similar panels and want to keep the location of the elements as identical as possible. (I needed something a little more complex than a wx.Wizard, but with the same general idea.) B represents a numeric progress meter (e.g. "1 of 7") in a small font. C represents a large block of text. D, E, F, and G are buttons. The G button is separated from others for functionality. I have attempted nested wx.BoxSizers (horizontal boxes inside of one vertical box) without luck. My first problem with wx.BoxSizer is that the .SetMinSize on my last row has not been honored. The second problem is that I have no idea how to make the G button "take up space" without growing comically large, or how I can jam it up against the right edge and bottom edge. I have tried to use a wx.GridBagSizer, but ran into entirely different issues. After plowing through the various online tutorials and wxPython in Action, I'm a little frustrated. The relevant forums appear to see activity once every two weeks. "Playing around with it" has gotten me nowhere; I feel as if I am trying to smooth out a hump in ill-laid carpet.

This a remote smtp service ... and i double checked that email web access works fine .. i can login using the gui, recieve and send emails. • How to allow the user to select an input file for my SQL AdventureWorks web application?

  I have a SQL and VS 2008 web application that I need to capture the full file path (directories and file name) from the selected file on the client computer. So user selects a file and then clicks on one of the buttons which transfers control to my code for processing. So how do I get its file path? I can get the file name, but not the path. Maybe problem is that while testing this web app, I am using the server instead of client machine. And I learned that on a server you cannot read the full file path due to security concerns. Is this true? If I just want this to work on client machine, which method/class do you recommend? And then how can I test it? My web app allows the user to select an input file and then map columns from the input .MDF file with columns from the selected Adventureworks table. Finally, after they click on the "Append" button, it adds rows from the input file to that table. So I want to capture the path info after they click this button.

  Hi, I am producing some latex beamer slides (but I think it is not a beamer specific question per se). I have the following: \begin{itemize} \item Issue1 \item Issue2 \item Issue3 \end{itemize} now I want to have a right curly brace (i.e. '}') behind the items spreading over issue1 and issue2. And of course I want to write something behind that curly brace I a perfect world I would write something like: \begin{itemize} \left . \item Issue1 \item Issue2 \right \\} One and Two are cool \item Issue3 \end{itemize} This does not work because I am not in a math environment and I can not put the whole snippet inside a math environment because itemize would not work in that case. • How to protect an OS X Server from an anautorized physical connection?

  Hi I have an OS X 10.6 server, which I administer via SSH and VNC (via SSH tunnel). I can't leave it at the login window since then VNC connections are refused. Therefore I currently leave it logged with my user account. Since it doesn't have a monitor attached, it doesn't go into screen saver mode, which means it doesn't require a password to retake control. This means it is very easy for anyone connecting a keyboard/mouse and monitor to take control of the system. The screen saver password protection, which I can't get to activate, unlike the system's login window, is perfectly compatible with VNC connections. How could I prevent such direct access to the server without connecting a monitor and without blocking my ability to connect with VNC? Thanks!

• ReSharper wrapping test result stacktraces?

  ReSharper 4.5's test runner will run MSTest tests out of the box, and that's what I'm doing. When a test fails, I click on the test to see the stacktrace and the failure reason. The pane I'm clicking in to do this is the "Unit Test Sessions" pane. The lower half of this pane (or the right half, if you have it configured that way) shows the reason and stacktrace for the failure. This section/pane does not word wrap, so I have to use the mouse to scroll left and right all the time. How can I make this reason/stacktrace pane word wrap?

• Windows 7 randomly installs an "Unknown Device"

  Rarely (several days to weeks between occurrences,) and seemingly at random, I get a balloon notification from Windows 7 (x64 SP1 Home Premium) that it is installing hardware for me. However, no new hardware has been installed or plugged in! When I click the balloon it doesn't give me any useful information: Looking in the event log, I find this entry: Event ID: 20001 Source: UserPnp Task Category: 7005 Message: Driver Management concluded the process to install driver FileRepository\usb.inf_amd64_neutral_153b489118ee37b8\usb.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\6&3AF9A177&0&0060&&02 with the following status: 0x0. It appears to be USB related. My motherboard has both USB 2.0 and 3.0 controllers. My keyboard and mouse are plugged into the 2.0 slots and the data/recharge cable for a tablet (but not the tablet itself) was plugged in to the 3.0 slot. No other USB devices have been attached for several days/reboots. Why is Windows doing this?

  Ok, I have three different computers that I work from and right now their configurations are all different so I have to push/pull a certain on each and its very bothersome. What I want to do is have ONE config file that I can use for all three that will allow me to do the following: git push unfuddle git pull heroku git push unfuddle git pull heroku And I'm new to git, so I know that maybe I need heroku master or 'heroku origin` or somethign? • Does XercesC contain an extensive logic of XMLSchema validation?

  Tried to implement a small XML validation tool with XercesC. For some reason I cannot use existing validators right from the box - I need some preprocessing and would like to combine it with validation in a single tool. I used DOM parser and specified DOMErrorHandler. Instead of a set of errors with detailed messages like I saw from xmllint for the same xml and xmlschema files, only one message appeared that document has a wrong structure without details. Probably, I did something wrong. But also assume XercesC doesn't contain xmllint functionality right from the box. Does anybody can give me a hint before I spent too much time? Thanks.
