• CSS filters - sometimes working, sometimes not?

  I'm on the verge of pulling my hair out over this. Here I have a block of perfectly functioning CSS: #admin .block.mode.off { opacity: 0.25; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25); } Meanwhile... • Maven not setting classpath for dependencies properly

  OS name: "linux" version: "2.6.32-27-generic" arch: "i386" Family: "unix" Apache Maven 2.2.1 (r801777; 2009-08-06 12:16:01-0700) Java version: 1.6.0_20 I am trying to use the mysql dependency in with maven in ubuntu. If I move the "mysql-connector-java-5.1.14.jar" file that maven downloaded into my $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext/ folder, everything is fine when I run the jar. I think I should be able to just specify the dependency in the pom.xml file and maven should take care of setting the classpath for the dependency jars automatically. Is this incorrect? • jQuery Character Counter Inside Newly Created Tooltip

  Hello all, I'm having a difficult time figuring this one out. I'm attempting to have a user open a tooltip (using jQuery qTip). What this does is create a "new" tooltip element on the page; it takes it from an existing hidden HTML div on the webpage. Once this new tooltip is created, it has a character counter that is supposed to dynamically update as the user types in the textbox (which is inside the tooltip). The "Max Length Character Counter" script can be found here. However, the "counter" portion is not working inside the newly created tooltip. Any ideas how I can bind this max length character counter to the tooltip? Easy. I'll add a jquery function to find them all in the masterpage. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('input').addClass('textbox'); } </script> Unfortunately this will also select the submit button. How can i only select input elements that have a text type attribute? Alternativly is this possible using entirely CSS? • What's the scope of a Javascript variable declared in a for() loop?

Can anyone explain what's happening to the scope of i in this code example, and why the anonymous function isn't capturing its value?

I am experience with Masonry on regular web app but can;t make it work here. It's like Masonry isn't running at all. It is being loaded (checked on the network tab) and jQuery is being loaded (on network tab and tested using if (jQuery) {alert('hey there');. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? }

• Advanced ASP.NET Gridview Layout

  So i had a feature request to add fields to a second table row for a single data row on a GridView. At first, I looked at extending the functionality of the GridView but soon realized this would be a huge task and since I consider this request a shim for a larger future feature decided against it. Also want to move to MVC in the near future and this would be throw away code. • Convert HTML + CSS to PDF with PHP?

  Ok, I'm now banging my head against a brick wall with this one. I have an HTML (not XHTML) document that renders fine in Firefox 3 and IE 7. It uses fairly basic CSS to style it and renders fine in HTML. I'm now after a way of converting it to PDF. I have tried: DOMPDF: it had huge problems with tables. I factored out my large nested tables and it helped (before it was just consuming up to 128M of memory then dying--thats my limit on memory in php.ini) but it makes a complete mess of tables and doesn't seem to get images. The tables were just basic stuff with some border styles to add some lines at various points; HTML2PDF and HTML2PS: I actually had better luck with this. It rendered some of the images (all the images are Google Chart URLs) and the table formatting was much better but it seemed to have some complexity problem I haven't figured out yet and kept dying with unknown node_type() errors. Not sure where to go from here; and Htmldoc: this seems to work fine on basic HTML but has almost no support for CSS whatsoever so you have to do everything in HTML (I didn't realize it was still 2001 in Htmldoc-land...) so it's useless to me. I tried a Windows app called Html2Pdf Pilot that actually did a pretty decent job but I need something that at a minimum runs on Linux and ideally runs on-demand via PHP on the Webserver. I really can't believe I'm this stuck. Am I missing something?

• Detecting whether user stayed after prompting onBeforeUnload

  In a web app I'm working on, I'm capturing onBeforeUnload to ask the user whether he really wants to exit. Now, if he decides to stay, there are a number of things I'd like to do. What I'm trying to figure out is that he actually chose to stay. I can of course declare a SetTimeout for "x" seconds, and if that fires, then it would mean the user is still there (because we didn't get unloaded). The problem is that the user can take any time to decide whether to stay or not... I was first hoping that while the dialog was showing, SetTimeout calls would not fire, so I could set a timeout for a short time and it'd only fire if the user chose to stay. However, timeouts do fire while the dialog is shown, so that doesn't work. Another idea I tried is capturing mouseMoves on the window/document. While the dialog is shown, mouseMoves indeed don't fire, except for one weird exception that really applies to my case, so that won't work either. Can anyone think of other way to do this? Thanks! (In case you're curious, the reason capturing mouseMove doesn't work is that I have an IFrame in my page, containing a site from another domain. If at the time of unloading the page, the focus is within the IFrame, while the dialog shows, then I get the MouseMove event firing ONCE when the mouse moves from inside the IFrame to the outside (at least in Firefox). That's probably a bug, but still, it's very likely that'll happen in our case, so I can't use this method).

  I'm working on a web page (ASP.NET 4.0) and am just starting simple to try and get this ajax call working (I'm an ajax/jQuery neophyte) and I'm getting an error on the call. • UML Modelling in C++Builder 2010 Professional

  I'd like to do some basic class diagram UML models in the Pro version of C++Builder 2010. Embarcadero has a C++Builder Features Matrix document, one line of which says "UML Code Visualization – at any time, get a UML model view of your source code" and has a check in the "Professional" column of that table -- I assume this means it should be available to me. Yet, when I open an existing project and do a View | Model View, there's nothing in the Model View window. The only diagram I can find is on the Graph tab of the C++ Class Explorer. I wouldn't call that a UML diagram myself -- is that what Embarcadero is referring to? Embarcadero's table shows that many UML diagrams are not available in Pro, but it looks to me like Class Diagrams should be available. Other lines in that same table indicate that both "Full two-way class diagrams with synchronization between code and diagrams" and "Diagram hyper-linking and annotations" are also supposed to be available in Pro. The Class Explorer graph is one-way only as far as I can tell, so I hope they're referring to something else I haven't been able to find so far. Thanks for any insight into this.

• Jquery if statement help

  Hi. I want to know how to correctly write an if statement with jquery. I have a bunch of div's with an anchor in each that when clicked expands the the div's width using toggleClass. • Can't Compile Correct Mapping File

  Hello, Im now developping one application in C# with Remoting objects and NHibernate. So here is a image explaining how my projects are divided. Views Layer This layer will be responsible for the users interface. This layer will always use the Controls Layer to create and edit objects; Control Layer This is my persistence layer, here Ill have all the NHibernate configuration. This is my critic point, because ListSingleton Project will have only my RemoteObject. (Here I have the App.config file) Models Layer Entity layer. Here I only have the entities classes and their respective mapping. I’ve done a test solution with no remoting and only with the projects of the Control and Model Layers. It was all working ok. Now that I added the Views Layer and set the solution to start with projects Client and Server (Client calls the Control Layer and this would do a try to persist a object) I’m getting a error at : Configuration cfg = new Configuration(); cfg.AddXmlFile("mapping/User.hbm.xml"); InnerException: {"Could not compile the mapping document: mapping/User.hbm.xml"} InnerException.InnerException: {"Could not find the dialect in the configuration"} StackTrace in the InnerException.InnerException " em NHibernate.Dialect.Dialect.GetDialect(IDictionary`2 props)\r\n em NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration.AddValidatedDocument(NamedXmlDocument doc)" But I know that there is no error in the mapping file because I used in my test application.

• Colorbox does not refresh its contents when I change URL

  I am trying to make use of Colorbox on my webpage. One specific feature does not work as expected, though. In their example (Outside Webpage - Iframe specifically) Google appears in the Colorbox when clicked. When you change href on that link (Using Firebug or JavaScript, e.g.) to, let's say, Yahoo, it works as expected and Yahoo is displayed after click. But not in my case. Once I click the link, I have no way to change the URL. Href, as displayed in browser, changes (to Yahoo), but click always opens the first page (Google). What might be the problem? • pass object from JS to PHP and back

  This is something that I don't think can't be done, or can't be done easy. Think of this, You have an button inside a div in HTML, when you click it, you call a php function via AJAX, I would like to send the element that start the click event(or any element as a parameter) to PHP and BACK to JS again, in a way like serialize() in PHP, to be able to restore the element in JS. Let me give you a simple example: PHP: function ajaxCall(element){ return element; } JS: callbackFunction(el){ el.color='red'; } HTML: <div id="id_div"> <input type="button" value="click Me" onClick="ajaxCall(this, callbackFunction);" /> </div> So I thing at 3 methods method 1. I can give each element in the page an ID. so the call to Ajax would look like this: ajaxCall(this.id, callbackFunction); and the callback function would be: document.getElementById(el).color='red'; This method I think is hard, beacause in a big page is hard to keep track of all ID's. method 2. I think that using xPath could be done, If i can get the exact path of an element, and in the callback function evaluate that path to reach the element. This method needs some googling, it is just an ideea. method 3. Modify my AJAX functions, so it retain the element that started the event, and pass it to the callback function as argument when something returns from PHP, so in my AJAX would look like this: eval(callbackFunction(argumentsFromPhp, element)); and the callback function would be: callbackFunction(someArgsFromPhp, el){ el.color='red'; // parse someArgsFromPhp } I think that the third option is my choise to start this experiment. Any of you has a better idea how I can accomplish this ? Thank you.

  I need to query an xml document and then display specific tag values, e.g. forename, surname, group(dept), job_title. I'm using XMLReader as i may need to work with large XML files. I using DomXPath to filter the data, but i don't know how to retrieve the nodeName and value for each element. The code below only returns 'member' as the node name? • jQuery ajax delete script not actually deleting.

  I have a little personal webapp that I'm working on. I have a link that, when clicked, is supposed to make an ajax call to a php that is supposed to delete that info from a database. For some unknown reason, it won't actually delete the row from the database. I've tried everything I know, but still nothing. I'm sure it's something incredibly easy... Here are the scripts involved. • .NET client getting "not well formed" XML response from Axis web service

  I have a simple .NET app that makes a SOAP call to a third party Axis web service. When I trace the HTTP traffic, I see that the Request looks fine, however I'm getting an exception: "Response is not well-formed XML." The return object is null, as it seems the XML can't be deserialized. One question regarding the various namespace declarations inside the wsdl. Several of these declarations point to URLs / domains that no longer exist. Could this cause any problems?
