  • Eclipse Intro / Welcome page

    - by Raven
Hello, is it possible to have links on the welcome page which point to defined commands and for example, launch an dialog? I am thinking of having a welcome page, pointing out the steps what to do first, like: 1) change language (click here) 2) set up database connection (click here) 3) start working (click here) "click here" should be a link to call the actual dialog to set things up. I am using Eclipse with the command style menu. Grateful for any suggestions!

  • How do I obtain a code point integer from a 1 to 4 byte UTF-8 encoded sequence in Windows?

    - by Patrick Niedzielski
Hello, I am Patrick Niedzielski, a programmer for the Free Software 3D adventure game Humm and Strumm. I'm working on a minimal Unicode character class in C++. I currently have an array of four bytes representing a UTF-8 sequence. On GNU/Linux, I can just convert to UTF-32 with iconv(), but on Windows, I cannot do this. Is it possible to convert the array to a single code point? Thanks, Patrick

  • Simple Inversion of Control framework for Java/Scala

    - by Alexey Romanov
I am looking for a simple to use IoC container for GUI applications written in Java/Scala. It should support Convention over Configuration, lifecycle management, configuration in code (preferably without any XML needed at all), and checking dependencies at compile-time as much as possible. Something similar to Autofac would be perfect.

  • Creating GUI desktop applications that call into either OCaml or Haskell -- Is it a fool's errand?

    - by Rob Lachlan
In both Haskell and OCaml, it's possible to call into the language from C programs. How feasible would it be to create Native applications for either Windows, Mac, or Linux which made extensive use of this technique? (I know that there are GUI libraries like wxHaskell, but suppose one wanted to just have a portion of your application logic in the foreign language.) Or is this a terrible idea?

  • Regex on memcached key?

    - by Mickey Cheong
Hi, Is it possible to grab a list of memcached key based on some regex? I understand that one solution is to store the key in the database and grab the list when I need to delete those keys. This means that, it is going to incur additional cost to the db. I was wondering if there is another way to do it without DB overhead. Cheers, Mickey

  • How can I get a dataset to populate from an RDL file?

    - by NotDan
I have an RDL report file and I would like to somehow "run" the report and get the dataset that would be used to fill the report. What I'm trying to do is get a raw data extract from the data that would be used to fill the report, without actually showing the report to the user. Is this possible?

  • Boolean logic parser for SQL

    - by d03boy
This is going to sound crazy but does anyone have techniques that would allow me to parse boolean logic strings in Sql Server 2005 without extraordinary/rediculous effort? Here is an example: (SOMEVAR=4 OR SOMEVAR=5) AND (NOT OTHERVAR=Y) I feel like recursion would help a lot if that were possible in Sql but I'm not really sure how to go about that sort of thing. If not, maybe there's a way to attach an external system to do the recursion for me? Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up.

  • MooTools Tween in percent

    - by FatalRabbit
Is it possible to tween an element in percent in MooTools? var slide = new Fx.Tween($('slide_box')); $('next_slide').addEvent('click',function(){ slide.start('left', '-100%'); }); But this code tween an element by 100px, not in percent.

  • How do I debug an MPI program?

    - by Jay Conrod
I have an MPI program which compiles and runs, but I would like to step through it to make sure nothing bizarre is happening. Ideally, I would like a simple way to attach GDB to any particular process, but I'm not really sure whether that's possible or how to do it. An alternative would be having each process write debug output to a separate log file, but this doesn't really give the same freedom as a debugger. Are there better approaches? How do you debug MPI programs?

  • Screenshot from WPF application as SVG / vector graphic?

    - by stefan.at.wpf
Hello, is it possible to create a screenshot of a WPF application as SVG / is there some WPF built-in function to get the XAML code for the current drawn window that then can be converted to SVG? I need some screenshots for documenting a WPF application and I'd like them to be zoomable like a WPF program is using e.g. Snoop or Vista Magnifyer. Thanks for any hint!

  • Are all swf files open source

    - by Behrooz Karjooravary
I am new to flash. Does anyone know if the swf files which are sold in istockphoto are open source. I want to purchase this flash piano but i would have to change some of its functionality so I need to make sure it's possible before i purchase. For instance I need it to play a sound on hover not on mouse press. And I'd like it to play my own piano sound samples rather than the ones it comes with. Thanks

  • Porting a C++ application to android

    - by vivekian2
Is it possible to port a C++ application which uses the STL extensively to Android? I understand that currently the NDK does not support this, but is there any effort (open source or otherwise) underway to achieve this? If not is there a way to cross compile libstdc++ for Android?
